Raw and Main Event Spoilers Bring Title Matches

Both the 12/24 Raw and 12/26 WWE Main Event shows have already taped, meaning spoilers hit the web recently.  With reveals of the matches that took place, were also details for two championship matches set to take place in 2013.  Whether the titles change hands is another story.  For those who want surprises this coming week, stop reading now.

On Raw for Christmas Eve, it will be revealed that Ryback and CM Punk will meet for the WWE Championship on the first episode of Raw in the New Year.  This will be a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, just like they would have had at the TLC Pay-Per-View.  That match was postponed due to Punk's surgery.

On the Main Event episode showing the day after Christmas (12/26), there is a 20-man battle royal.  The winner of that match gets a shot at Antonio Cesaro.  The Great Khali won the match, eliminating Wade Barrett as the last opponent.  Other opponents in the match included Usos, Primo, Epico, Damien Sandow, Cody Rhodes, Zack Ryder, Santino Marella, Brodus Clay and Ted DiBiase.  DiBiase hadn't been seen in quite a while on any WWE programs.

Now Khali will go on to face Cesaro for the United States Championship on the January 2nd episode of WWE Main Event.  It's a longshot to believe that Khali will win the title, but who knows with the way they operate.  As for Ryback, it's almost a given that he'll probably lose the match on Raw, so Punk can carry the title into the 2013 Royal Rumble and face The Rock.  That's been the plan for some time now, and Ryback's rise to popularity has just been another stepping stone in the plan.

Of course 2013 will certainly bring title changes.  Expect all three titles to change hands, with the WWE title probably going first.  Dolph Ziggler has to cash in at some point too, so keep an eye on the Money in the Bank briefcase holder to see what happens.

They show the Raw Rebound featuring Vickie Guerrero's recent unveiling of evidence against Cena and AJ.

Back in the locker, Show tells Miz they used to be teammates as ShowMiz, but tonight Show is his superior.  He tells Miz he better do what he says or he'll get knocked out.  Show tells Miz to hand him his title, then leaves, before a commercial break.

Jinder Mahal defeated Derrick Bateman by submission.  Late in the match, Bateman had control after hitting a dropkick for a near fall.  However, moments later Mahal managed to get him into the Camel Clutch to make Bateman tap out.

WWE NXT Results 05/16/12

WWE NXT Results from Hershey, PA:

Josh Matthews welcomed fans to the show less than a week before the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View.  Johnny Curtis made his way to the ring to start the matches off.  William Regal was shown on camera, joining Matthews on commentary.

Johnny Curtis defeated Percy Watson by pinfall.  Late in the match, Curtis managed to avoid Percy's move and grabbed him for a huge fishermen's suplex which he finished with a pinfall for the win.

The Great Khali and Ezekiel Jackson defeated Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks by pinfall.  Towards the end of this one, Jackson managed to flip Reks over his back and made a hot tag to Khali.  Khali came in and knocked Hawkins off the apron then knocked Reks down several times.  Khali prepared for a move with Hawkins trying to jump off the corner.  Khali caught him with a hand around the neck, and shoved him towards Zeke who ran over him.  From there, Khali hit the Punjabi Plunge on Tyler Reks.  It looked like Khali fell on Reks awkwardly for the pin.

Kaitlyn defeated Maxine by submission.  Late in the match, Maxine jumped on Kaitlyn's back to put in a chin hold/headlock.  Kaitlyn slipped out and then dropped down with a full nelson slam.  Kaitlyn wrapped her legs around Maxine's legs and made her tap out shortly after.

Tyson Kidd defeated Michael McGillicutty and Derrick Bateman by submission in a Triple Threat match.  Late in this match, Bateman went for a Superplex on McGill from the corner.  McGill fought him off.  Kidd rushed at Bateman who sent him up at McGill, causing Mike to fall to the outside.  Moments later, Bateman went for a kick move on Kidd after hitting against the ropes.  However, Kidd tripped him up and locked on the Sharpshooter.  Bateman crawled towards the bottom rope, so Kidd put on a different submission with his legs locked around Bateman's neck.  He used one leg to kick Bateman in the head several times, almost MMA style.  Finally, Bateman tapped out to give Kidd the win.

NXT closed with Kidd celebrating the win as fans cheered him on.

They showed a replay of the Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena highlights from Raw this past Monday.

WWE Superstars Results 03/01/12

Santino Marella defeated Curt Hawkins by pinfall.  Tyler Reks was at ringside with Hawkins.  Late in the match, Hawkins had control, until Santino made a comeback, using his comedy routine of moves.  Hawkins hit a running forearm, but moments later Santino was able to get a surprise rollup pinfall for the win.

Beth Phoenix defeated Alicia Fox by pinfall.  Fox had momentum towards the end after hitting several kicks and a springboard reverse elbow into Phoenix.  However when Alicia went for her scissors kick, Beth moved away and then got her in the Glam Slam to win it.

The Great Khali defeated Jinder Mahal in just over 2:30 by pinfall.  Mahal tended to work over Khali's neck as his targeted attack area.  However, Khali came back with several big clubbing clotheslines.  After a big chop to knock Mahal down, Khali took the pin for the win.

The majority of Superstars covered Wrestlemania 28 matches, as well as the Raw Rebound featuring The Rock and John Cena's latest confrontation.

Raw Results 02/06/12

Triple H arrived out and first addressed how he was all set to fire John Laurinaitis last week and fully intended to, but was interrupted.  He said that decision is currently hanging in the balance as JL made a plea to the board, so they will have the final say.

He turned his attention to Taker's request for a rematch, saying he used to get butterflies in his stomach and a nervous feeling when he looked into Taker's eyes, but not anymore.  He talked about Taker having to be carried away from their match last year, and he knows that this time around he'd have to finish it off.  Triple H said he'd prefer Taker be remembered for his impressive streak and rolled the highlight clip.

Triple H's music hit after he was done for him to leave the ring, but then stopped. His in-ring appearance was interrupted when a video cut in from The Undertaker.  It showed Undertaker watching highlight footage from his match against Triple H at Wrestlemania 27, with Hunter making comments after the match about Taker being carried out.  Taker said he won't let that be the image of him remembered through the ages.  Taker asked Hunter to give him what is his, "vengeance" as he looked at newspaper clippings of Triple H and the match.  Taker said it is not over yet.  The arena stayed dark with Triple H staring forward, looking puzzled after that all happened.

Big Show defeated Daniel Bryan by countout in a non-title match.  The finish saw Show going after Bryan outside the ring and nearly smashing AJ into the ring steps by mistake.  After a pause, Bryan grabbed AJ by the hand to flee up the ramp for safety, causing his countout.

Post-match, Bryan grabbed a mic to scream at Show that he's a freak for trying to hurt AJ again.  He said the fact Show prevented himself from hitting AJ this time showed he could've done that previously.  Bryan said his love for this woman is more important than winning or losing a match, but at the Chamber things will remain the same when he leaves as Daniel Bryan, a vegan, and still World Champion.

David Otunga came to the ring in street clothes to give his praises for John Laurinaitis.  He kneeled down to pray for JL, then Justin Roberts announced "per Triple H, Otunga will compete tonight."

Sheamus defeated Otunga in about two minutes after connecting on the Brogue Kick.

Chris Jericho came out to finally deliver a lengthy promo, saying Punk is a liar for saying he's best in the world when he's not.  Jericho said he's best in the world and didn't need it on back of his t-shirt to prove it.  He talked up his accomplishments including being first-ever undisputed champion and eliminating Orton from the Rumble in his hometown.  Now Jericho said he's back to reclaim what is his.

CM Punk's music hit to bring the champion down to the ring.  He walked up to Jericho and dropped the mic at his feet then raised up the WWE title belt for him to see.  Punk turned his back on Jericho smirking and left the ring, with Jericho all upset in the ring.  Jericho called Punk a wannabe as Cult of Personality played and Punk walked up the ramp with the title held high up.

Randy Orton & The Great Khali defeated Cody Rhodes & Wade Barrett by pinfall.  Orton gained control against the heels after a scoop slam on Barrett and a clothesline on Rhodes.  He did the DDT with Rhodes from the middle rope then started to prepare for his next move.  As Orton backed up though he was near Khali who slap tagged him to get in the match.  Rhodes kicked Khali in the gut and tried to hit Beautiful Disaster kick from the ropes, but instead Khali chopped him from the air and got the pin.  Post-match, Khali and Orton faced off with Khali grabbing Orton around the neck.  Randy ducked a clothesline and hit the RKO on Khali.

They talked about the Twitter war going on between The Rock and John Cena, showing several recent tweets from the two.  From there, it was another showing of the video about John Cena.

Eight divas tag match saw Eve, Kelly, Tamina and Alicia Fox defeated Natalya, Beth Phoenix and The Bella Twins.  They had a video from Beth Phoenix saying it's getting boring for her because she's beaten everyone on the rosters, and there's nobody left to fight.  The heels worked on Eve for most of the match, but one of the Bellas started taunting Beth asking "is that good enough for you?"  Tamina tagged in during the incident allowing her to gain the advantage.  Tamina closed the match getting up on the corner and looking at Beth Phoenix before doing the Superfly Splash on one of the Bellas.

They showed a clip to promote tonight's "The Tonight Show" featuring The Rock in an interview about leaving wrestling and now going back to the ring. Rock talked about how he can't wait to go back for Wrestlemania.

Triple H was on the cell phone backstage talking about the board with a decision.  John Laurinaitis came in to interrupt him, saying he met with the board earlier today and they seem like nice, fair people.  JL said he suggested to the board that Shawn Michaels come back next week.  JL also said he suggested a match for Elimination Chamber with John Cena vs. Kane in an Ambulance Match.  HHH said it was a good idea, then asked if there was an ambulance there tonight with a heart monitor they could hook JL's career to and see when it flatlines.  HHH told him to get out of the office before he makes his career flatline.

Michael Cole announced that the decision on the future of John Laurinaitis will be announced on WWE.com as of 10 AM EST Tuesday morning.

Josh Matthews caught up with Laurinaitis backstage.  He said he's made mistakes, but can admit to them and learn from them.  He brought up how Triple H is refusing to take on The Undertaker and he's not sure the board wants someone cowardly running Raw.

The main event was a six pack challenge, with the Elimination Chamber participants involved (Truth, Miz, Jericho, Punk, Ziggler and Kingston).  The winner gets to be the last participant in the Raw Chamber match at the PPV.  At one point in the match, Jericho and Miz worked together and helped Superplex Punk with Ziggler from the corner.  They each took pinfalls but Punk and Ziggler kicked out.

The close saw Jericho block Trouble in Paradise and put Kofi into a Walls of Jericho submission.  Punk kicked Jericho from behind, and tossed Y2J out of the ring.  From there Ziggler tried to steal a pinfall on Punk, with Punk kicking out and avoiding the ZigZag.  Punk hit GTS and had the pinfall, but he was close to the ropes so Y2J yanked him out of the ring.  Jericho threw Punk across the commentators table and then tossed the table cover on top of him.  From there Y2J slid into the ring to steal the pinfall on Ziggler.

As Jericho gloated in the ring holding the WWE championship belt, Punk was shown clutching his arm behind the announce table.  Female screams became audible and they cut backstage to show Kane cornering Eve who was screaming in terror.  Kane told Eve he hopes Cena embraces the hate soon, because otherwise he's afraid for Eve, Cena, and everyone.  Kane said for the first time in his life "I'm afraid of me."  Raw closed with a closeup of Kane's eyes through the mask as Eve was cowering below him in fear.

Smackdown Review: Christian as Heel & NXT Stars

On Friday's Smackdown, fans got the first glimpse of Captain Charisma turning against Randy Orton and moving closer to a heel role. Christian officiated Orton's title match against Sheamus, and gave Orton the win after failing to properly count a Sheamus pinfall. Post-match was bad news for Orton as Christian smashed him with his championship belt, then left with Orton's prized possession.

This will probably be the start of Christian's turn, much like CM Punk did with Jeff Hardy several seasons ago. Smackdown really needs a good heel and viable opponent for Orton. There's no Edge anymore, Sheamus has faced Orton plenty of times, Mark Henry is washed up and the rest are sub-par opponents for someone of Orton's caliber. Christian can certainly deliver in the role.

Smackdown is also presenting several new stars. Jinder Mahal is starting to make his early impact, thanks to having Great Khali as his bodyguard. He didn't need much help in dismantling Yoshi Tatsu in the ring for his debut match, but Mahal allowed his henchman to further attack Yoshi post-match.

The other 3 new stars of Smackdown come via the past two seasons of NXT. Johnny Curtis (remember him?) was last season's big winner. He finally showed up on Smackdown, weeks after the guy he beat, Brodus Clay, has held a prominent role. Curtis, as winner of NXT, was promised a tag team championship shot, along with his pro, R-Truth. It appears that sort of story would work quite well for the R-Truth saga right now, as Truth could either leave his partner high and dry, blame him for a loss, or get attacked by John Cena during the match.

Finally, we have two NXT divas who are getting featured on Smackdown. Kaitlyn was the winner two seasons ago, as she edged out Naomi. However, Kaitlyn's best friend, AJ, is on Smackdown, as she seems popular with the fans. She's a smaller diva but certainly can bring it in the ring. These two are being mentored by Natalya but owned in the ring by the talented Tamina and conniving Alicia Fox.

Smackdown has plenty of room for improvement, but when compared to Raw it seems they have a lot of fresh talent and stories to work with too.

Alex Riley Needs Big Smackdown Role Now

After delivering an epic beatdown on his mentor, The Miz, on Monday Night Raw, former NXT competitor, Alex Riley, was nowhere to be seen on Friday's Smackdown. Riley is a part of the roster, but aside from getting an RKO from Randy Orton weeks ago, has been absent from the show.

Riley definitely made a big statement in beating up The Miz on Raw, but now where does he go? Will The Miz go after Riley, or will Riley begin his career fresh on Smackdown? If anything, it seems like Riley could be a smart choice as an Intercontinental championship contender. Maybe even the guy who defeats Wade Barrett for the title (sorry Zeke).

Riley could become the type of guy Ted Dibiase had trouble becoming. The writers capitalized by having Riley beat up his mentor on Raw, and his mentor just so happens to be a former WWE Champion. Don't forget that Riley was runner-up on NXT Season 2 to Kaval, a guy who is no longer with WWE.

It's tough for Riley to get a spot on the Smackdown roster right now, due to all the storylines going on. Let's hope he's not going to be a squash opponent for guys like Great Khali and Mark Henry. Maybe he'll get some TV time on WWE Superstars for a while and then a push to the bigger roster.

What do you think will happen with Alex Riley? Will he get lost in the roster after beating up The Miz? Will The Miz and Riley feud? Leave your thoughts below!

Smackdown Results 05/27/11

Smackdown Results from Spokane, WA:

Randy Orton arrived out to start off Smackdown, showing off the World Championship belt he retained against Christian at Sunday's Over The Limit PPV. Orton talked about how he is still the champion but was soon interrupted by former champ, Christian, then Sheamus and then Mark Henry. Each of them made their case for why they are #1 contender for Orton's title. Smackdown GM Teddy Long arrived out to make a decision. He said there will be a main event Triple Threat match to determine #1 contender: Sheamus vs Mark Henry vs Christian.

Sin Cara vs. Chavo Guerrero

Chavo had control late in this one and tossed Sin Cara against the ropes. Sin Cara did a flip to bounce against the ropes with Chavo moving out of the way. Sin Cara followed with a tilt-a-whirl flip into a slam on the mat for a pinfall win.

Winner: Sin Cara wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

Cody Rhodes arrived out with two guys in suits carrying paper bags. Rhodes said every city he goes to he prays to see a mildly attractive face but doesn't. He said as a service to the fans he provides them with these bags, then told the baggers to do their work. Rhodes kept talking in the ring as he was suddenly interrupted by Daniel Bryan's music.

Daniel Bryan vs. Cody Rhodes

In the latter stages of the match, Rhodes sent Bryan to the corner, but Bryan jumped up on the corner and then flipped over Rhodes to the mat. Rhodes charged the corner and ran up it, then delivered his jumping kick to Bryan's head. He tried to follow with Cross Rhodes, but Bryan countered and put Rhodes on the mat for the Labelle Lock to get him to tap out.

Post-match, Rhodes attacked Bryan in the ring and outside it. He brought him back inside to hit Cross Rhodes, then put a paper bag on his head. against the ropes.

Winner: Daniel Bryan wins due to submission by Cody Rhodes.

They showed the mock press conference with President Obama and Capitol Punishment Pay-Per-View. Cole, Matthews and Booker pretended to chuckle over the skit. Matthews said basically all of Washington, DC has been invited to Capitol Punishment PPV next month.

When Smackdown returned they said Stone Cold Steve Austin would be on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tonight at 12:35 AM.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. Heath Slater

Former Corre allies faced off in this match. Last Sunday, Jackson was seconds away from winning the Intercontinental title until The Corre interfered in the match.

For most of this contest, Jackson manhandled Slater. Late in the match, Jackson put Slater up in the Torture Rack for the win, but The Corre's Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett rushed to the ring. Jackson fought all of them off, clearing the ring of The Corre. Barrett was furious on the outside as Jackson did a bodybuilder's pose in the ring.

Winner: Ezekiel Jackson wins due to disqualification of Heath Slater when The Corre interfered.

Christian talked about always being picked last for kickball when he was younger, but then proving the doubters wrong. He said he did the same with the World Championship, achieving it when everyone thought he was the last who could do it. He said he'll prove the doubters wrong again.

Great Khali vs. Kane
Monster's Brawl Match

Khali arrived out to the ring with Ranjin Singh dancing on the ramp. They showed highlights of Mahal Jinder slapping Great Khali outside the ring last weekend. Khali got back in the ring and punished Jey Uso for the victory. He also chopped down Ranjin Singh.

In the match, Khali chopped Kane down at one point, then put a shoulder nerve pinch on. Kane fought back to his feet, then ducked a chop by Khali. Kane put his hand around Khali's throat, with Khali doing the same and pushing Kane over the top rope. Kane got back on the apron as Khali was posturing to the crowd. As Khali went to grab Kane, Kane yanked him down against the top rope. Kane went to the corner for a flying clothesline to knock Khali down, then took the winning pinfall.

Post-match, Ranjin Singh tried to comfort Khali in the ring. Suddenly, Jinder Mahal came out to the ring with a mic yelling in Hindi at Khali. He got in the ring still yelling at Khali, then slapped him across the face. Singh got in Mahal's face yelling at him, so Mahal shoved Sing to the ropes. Khali stormed at Mahal and started to yell at him. Singh got in Mahal's face again with Khali behind him. Khali suddenly put his vice grip squeeze on Singh's head until he passed out on the mat. Khali left with Jinder Mahal while a ref checked on Singh in the ring.

Winner: Kane wins via pinfall over Great Khali.

They showed Raw Rebound to cover the events of what happened to Big Show backstage from Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez.

Matthews and Cole talked about the Big Show's injury on Raw. Matthews said he suffered internal injuries and a crush injury to the knee. He'll need several weeks of rehab to get back to work in the ring.

Booker T was in the ring as his theme music started up. Booker said he wanted to invite someone to step in the ring with him now, Michael Cole. Cole shook his head no, and Matthews asked if he's scared. Cole finally obliged and got into the ring. Booker reminded everyone that Cole lost the Kiss My Foot match to Jerry Lawler. They showed Cole kissing Lawler's foot on the screen. Cole was dejected as Booker kept laughing, then helped started up a "Kiss My Feet" chant to humiliate Cole on TV. Cole left the ring looking upset as he walked to the commentators table.

Matt Striker knocked on Sheamus' door backstage. The Celtic Warrior came out and made a statement about how sick he is of hearing about Christian and Mark Henry. He said they've had one short championship reign between the two of them. Sheamus said he won his first championship within a year. Sheamus said Mark Henry and Christian need bundles of opportunites, but he just needs one. Striker started to thank him, but Sheamus walked into his dressing room and slammed the door on him.

They showed Kharma arriving out to interrupt the 8 divas match on Raw, then sinking to her knees in the center of the ring crying.

AJ & Kaitlyn vs. Alicia Fox & Tamina

They showed AJ and Kaitlyn backstage talking to Natalya about how they'd be honored to have her in their corner tonight.

Late in the match, Kaitlyn had a pinfall on Alicia but Tamia rushed in and kicked Kaitlyn in the head. AJ came in to tackle Tamina and bring her out of the ring. Back in the ring, Alicia managed to stun Kaitlyn then did her scissor kick to the back of her head for the win.

Winners: Alicia Fox & Tamina win via pinfall over Kaitlyn & AJ.

They showed footage from the WWE All-Stars video game with a match involving John Cena and The Rock ahead of Wrestlemania 28.

Matt Striker interviewed Mark Henry backstage. Henry turned the interview around saying Striker's calling him an underachiever and stupid. He yelled at Striker then pushed him aside to leave the scene.

Matthews and Booker talked about the loss of Macho Man Randy Savage, before they showed the tribute video that ran on Raw.

Christian vs. Mark Henry vs. Sheamus
#Triple Threat #1 Contender Match

As the match was in progress, Randy Orton came out from backstage to watch, eventually sitting next to the commentators.

Late in the match, Christian went for the Crossbody from the corner but Henry caught him then hit World's Strongest Slam. Henry had the winning pinfall but Sheamus managed to break it up. He battled with Henry, eventually clocking him to knock him to the outside. Sheamus tried to steal a pin on Christian but to no avail.

Later, Christian hit the DDT from the corner on Sheamus for a near fall. Outside the ring, Mark Henry shoved Randy Orton then got back in the ring. Henry tried to press Christian overhead, but Christian escaped and shoved him into Sheamus in the corner. He hit a Spear on Sheamus and took a pinfall but Orton slid into the ring and RKO'd Henry. The ref was distracted trying to get Orton out of there, so he missed counting the pin for Christian and was too late.

Christian complained to the ref who explained he was getting Randy out of there. As Christian turned around, he got hit by the Brogh Kick. Sheamus took the pinfall for the win with Orton looking on from outside the ring.

Winner: Sheamus wins the Triple Threat #1 Contender's match to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. Sheamus will face Randy Orton on next week's show for the title.
