2009 Royal Rumble Participants

Royal Rumble 2009 arrives January 25, 2009. In the main event match, The Royal Rumble, 30 men will be competing in an over-the-top rope Battle Royal. Two wrestlers will start it out and then new wrestlers enter every several minutes. The entrants' order is usually determined by a lottery drawing beforehand, with some positions decided via matches. In the Rumble, once a man is tossed out over the top rope and hits the floor outside, they're officially eliminated. It keeps going until just one wrestler is the last man in the ring, earning a title shot, usually at Wrestlemania.

The first several competitors were announced on Smackdown and Raw early in January. Here's a look at the competitors for the 2009 Royal Rumble, with more to be announced as we get closer to the Pay-Per-View.
