Smackdown Results from Omaha, NE:

Smackdown opened with Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero talking to Triple H about the 2009 Royal Rumble. Vickie decided to have MVP face The Big Show in a match and if MVP lost, Triple H would no longer be part of the Royal Rumble match. Triple H was also banned from ringside due to hitting Big Show at the top of the ramp with a Sledgehammer.

Matt & Hardy & Finlay vs. Jack Swagger & Mark Henry

The former ECW champion was able to get the pinfall victory for his team after hitting Twist of Fate on Jack Swagger.

Winners: Matt Hardy & Finlay win via pinfall over Mark Henry & Jack Swagger.

R-Truth vs. The Brian Kendrick

Truth got a great reception from the crowd in Nebraska, then went on to defeat Kendrick via pinfall. After the match, Kendrick's bodyguard Ezekiel Jackson attacked Truth.

Winner: R-Truth wins via pinfall over The Brian Kendrick.

MVP vs. The Big Show

In this match, MVP finally snapped his losing streak, with the help of Triple H and a Sledgehammer. HHH used the sledgehammer and hit Big Show, allowing MVP to get the win.

Michelle McCool vs. Victoria

Michelle McCool was able to defeat Victoria in her final match. Afterwards, Victoria announced she is retiring from WWE.

Winner: Michelle McCool wins via pinfall over Victoria.

The Cutting Edge was the final segment of Smackdown. Edge was in the ring and introduced his special guest, the WWE Champion Jeff Hardy. As Jeff came out to the ramp his pyrotechnics exploded in his face. WWE crew and paramedics rushed over to get Hardy out of the arena on a stretcher as Smackdown left the air.
