Raw Revelations: WM25 Matches?

It's looking like 3 of the 4 wrestlers involved in last year's Wrestlemania title fights will be back again for this year's main event title matches. This time though, Triple H and Randy Orton will face off for the WWE Title, whereas last year it was a Triple Threat involving John Cena as well. Cena appears to be chasing Edge and the World Heavyweight Title on Smackdown. Last year's Mania saw Edge defending his World Heavyweight Title against Undertaker last year, trying to end the streak. The Orton and Triple H feud makes sense due to the current storyline, while the Cena situation makes a little less sense. If anyone should be angry at the lost title, it's Kofi Kingston...Now WWE appears to be hinting at John Cena and Triple H swapping shows, possibly to see if Cena would boost Smackdown's ratings on MyNetworkTV any higher up. Regardless of all that, the main events may not truly be silver anniversary material worthy of Wrestlemania 25....

Speculative matches for Wrestlemania 25:

Randy Orton vs. Triple H (WWE Title)
John Cena vs. Edge (World Heavyweight)
Christian vs. Jack Swagger (ECW Title)
Roddy Piper vs. Chris Jericho (Legends Match)
Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker
Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Divas or Womens Championship

Based on the above possibilities, it is starting to look like the WM25 undercard matches will easily outdo the main event title matches. Case in point, should Shawn Michaels defeat JBL next week as he should, then HBK will face The Undertaker at WM25 and attempt to break his streak. It makes for a bigger Wrestlemania 25 story, with Michaels coming off a big win to save his life from JBL, plus his big win last year at Mania when he sent Flair into retirement. It could make for the match of the Pay-Per-View, and may even become the main event in Shawn's home state of Texas.

Then we have the curious case of Chris Jericho. He's done a good job of insulting and pissing off various WWE legends including Ric Flair and Roddy Piper. Both wrestlers showed up on Raw to confront Jericho with Flair getting the best of him. Jericho kicked down Piper in the ring the other night and screamed at him to dance like a puppet or crawl around for the fans' entertainment. The incident seems to spark a potential match on Raw or at WM25 between Piper and Jericho. Let's hope it goes down on Raw and then WWE one-ups that for Mania...How about a match involving the return of the "Texas Rattlesnake" Stone Cold Steve Austin to face Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 25? A Wrestlemania 25 poster that was recently released shows Austin at the front of several other wrestlers promoting the event. Austin also goes into the WWE Hall of Fame just a night before the big event, and he surely would be the legend capable of shutting up Jericho. There's also the legend of all legends, good ol' Hulkster. Then again is WWE even talking to Hulk Hogan anymore?

Another match which is sure to outdo those two main events at Wrestlemania 25 is the fan favorite Money in the Bank Ladder Match. We all know these matches are full of excitement and usually lead to one superstar winning the chance to go for any WWE title they want, whenever, wherever. While the participants have yet to be announced, some potentials could be: Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, MVP, Evan Bourne, Finlay, Mr. Kennedy, John Morrison, R-Truth, The Brian Kendrick and CM Punk. The WWE could make it even better by adding Jeff and Matt Hardy to it, but it's looking like they'll get a match all to themselves to settle the score on the grandest stage of them all...

I like your predictions. I think that is probably the route WWE will go. I guess I will have to wait till I get there that weekend to see. Take Care
