SmackDown opened with a video which highlighted the recent events involving Matt Hardy turning against his brother Jeff at the Royal Rumble.

Edge came down to the ring with his lover and Smackdown GM, Vickie Guerrero to start off the program. Down in the ring, Edge discussed the Elimination Chamber match at 2009 No Way Out Pay-Per-View. After professing his love to Vickie, Edge told everyone that he suffered a neck injury from The Undertaker. The Big Show came out to interrupt and told Edge that there’s no way out for him on Sunday and Big Show will leave as the champion. Edge then yelled for Vickie to do something about this, while Show told Edge he was a coward. Vickie then announced a Fatal Four Way match for tonight with Big Show against The Undertaker against Vladimir Kozlov against Triple H. Vickie said hopefully all four men will make it to No Way Out as she and Edge exited grinning. Chavo Guerrero came out for the first match of the show.

MVP vs. Chavo Guerrero

MVP looked to continue his winning ways and finally started to gain some momentum as he rallied against Chavo. The match ended in disqualification as Shelton Benjamin rushed into the ring and attacked MVP. Chavo Guerrero then connected with a frog splash on MVP who was already knocked out on the mat.

Winner: MVP wins due to disqualification when Shelton Benjamin interfered.

A promotional video for The Undertaker was shown on the screen. Taker discussed that he’s planning to administer pain in the Elimination Chamber Match at No Way Out, saying that victory is his destiny.

Backstage, The Bella Twins were shown talking with Carltio & Primo Colon. The Miz & John Morrison came up to interrupt. The two teams agreed that whichever teams wins their next tag match will get a date with The Bellas tomorrow night.

Carlito & Primo Colon vs. The Miz & John Morrison

Brie and Nikki Bella arrived to the ring to watch the matchup. With a date with the Bella twins on the line, Miz and Morrison once again found a way to win. The referee became distracted allowing Miz to throw Primo from off the ropes and give Morrison the win. After their victory, Miz & Morrison left victorious with The Bella Twins.

Winners: The Miz & John Morrison win via pinfall over The Colons.

Jeff Hardy was shown arriving to the arena in a red Ferrari. Jeff got out and started to shake hands with various people backstage.

Jeff Hardy arrived back to Smackdown. In the ring he discusses the betrayal by his brother and how it's affected him deeply. Jeff said for now he’s moving onto this Sunday to focus 100% on the Elimination Chamber match and reclaiming the WWE Title.

R-Truth vs. Ezekiel Jackson

R-Truth entered through the crowd with his "What's Up?" rap theme to get the crowd ready. In the match the much bigger Ezekiel Jackson displayed power as he was able to dominate Truth and did two press slams to demonstrate his strength. Out of nowhere, Truth reversed Ezekiel's finisher the "ura-nage" with a rollup pin to win in surprise fashion.

Winner: R-Truth wins via pinfall over Ezekiel Jackson.

Maria joined Eve backstage and talked about fighting Michelle McCool tonight.

Maria vs. Michelle McCool

Michelle targeted Maria's hurt ankle throughout the match enjoying the fact she was furthering the injury. Eve rushed down to ringside to provide support for Maria. Michelle left the ring briefly to bully Eve, but Eve's distraction at ringside eventually allowed Maria to roll up Michelle for the quick win. Afterwards the two divas celebrated up on the ramp.

Winner: Maria wins via pinfall over Michelle McCool.

Triple H is interviewed backstage by Todd Grisham. HHH talks about his new t-shirt and then discusses how the Elimination Chamber is dreaded but he likes the pain it brings. Triple H vows to walk out as WWE champion on Sunday.

Big Show vs. The Undertaker vs. Vladimir Kozlov vs. Triple H
Fatal Four Way Match

In a preview match prior to the Elimination Chamber, four of its competitors squared off in a Fatal Fourway. Each wrestler was able to hit his finisher on another, leaving carnage in the ring. With Big Show still standing, Edge rushed in and delivered a Spear to put Big Show on the mat. Edge stood over the four competitors holding up the WWE Championship belt as Smackdown went off the air.

Winner: No decision as Edge interfered at the end of match.
