Raw Preview 03.30.09
With Wrestlemania less than one week away, tonight's Raw is sure to be full of frantic action as WWE superstars prepare for the big event. On Smackdown this past Friday and Raw last week, several of the Pay-Per-Views matches and feuds have begun to intensify. Take for example John Cena versus Big Show versus Edge in a Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight title. Cena made an appearance on Smackdown just this past Friday and when Big Show came out to declare he was better than both competitors, Cena challenged Show to a one-on-one match for Raw. Show gladly accepted after saying Vickie's love makes him the strongest of all 3 men heading to the title match at WM25. Cena responded by knocking Big Show off the apron to let him know he's ready for him when Raw airs this Monday evening. With the love triangle continuing to cause controversy and make fans wonder who exactly Vickie Guerrero is going to side with, Cena is still going into the Wrestlemania match with the sole purpose of becoming World Heavyweight champion. Raw should give both individuals a good chance to tune up prior to their Triple Threat match, but don't count out the Rated R-Superstar who just may have revenge on his mind as Raw airs. Who will come out on top in the Cena versus Show singles match, and will Vickie or Edge play a part in the outcome?
Last week's Raw some a cowardly display of arrogant rage and violence as Chris Jericho attacked the legendary Ric Flair around the ring. This came after Flair started off Raw to let fans know his team of legends will proudly represent WWE when they defeat Jericho at Wrestlemania 25. Just as Flair was continuing his speech, Chris Jericho made his way out to the ring to interrupt and confront Flair. Jericho continued his brash trash-talking, telling Flair he's a has been who continues to try to find ways to be in the spotlight. As Flair told Jericho exactly what to expect from the 3 legends, Flair and Rourke as they celebrate the Wrestlemania victory, Jericho punched the Nature Boy in the face. With Flair knocked down, the beatdown began all around and outside of the ring. Jericho tossed Flair into the commentators' table, the crowd barrier and even the steel steps, drawing blood on Flair, and ripping his suit clothes off. Jericho added further insult to injury when he pulled off Flair's gold watch, a retirement gift Shawn Michaels gave him last year, and stomped it to pieces on the steel steps. Jericho's horrific display was not well received by the WWE Universe or Jerry Lawler who officially challenged Jericho to a match on tonight's show. Will Lawler be able to extract some revenge on Jericho, or will Lawler be just another legend victim for Jericho to take out his rage on?
And finally, Shawn Michaels seems to have officially upset the Deadman with a recent ceremonial display on Smackdown. During the display, Shawn Michaels arrived to the ring dressed in all white, with druids also dressed in white surrounding the ring. HBK delivered verses from the bible to explain why he is the "light" and Undertaker is the "darkness". Shawn Michaels continued to try to belittle the Undertaker, showing no fear as they head into a tense matchup at Wrestlmenia 25. To Michaels' surprise though, Undertaker showed him he was not going to let the games go too far. Undertaker popped up through the ring and grabbed Shawn Michaels, preparing to chokeslam the Heartbreak Kid. Luckily, Michaels was able to escape the ring, but Undertaker's message was clearly sent. Now as the two have less then a week until Undertaker puts his streak up against HBK, how will they prepare for the big match? Will Undertaker arrive to Raw once again with more to say, or will HBK have more mind games in store?
