Smackdown Recap from Corpus Christi, TX:

Kane, Christian Cage, Shelton Benjamin & Finlay vs MVP, Mark Henry, CM Punk & Kofi Kingston

The match saw all sorts of chaotic action between the 8 men involved in the MITB Ladder Match including Christian battling last year's winner, CM Punk. Kane got the win after a chokeslam on Punk.

After Christian's team won it, Christian climbed a ladder in the ring towards the briefcase hanging up above. Finlay came over to knock the ladder over, causing Christian to fall outside the ring in a heap on top of the other 6 competitors. Finlay climbed to the top of the ladder with Hornswoggle and laughed at the fallen wrestlers outside the ring.

Winners: Kane, Christian Cage, Shelton Benjamin and Finlay win via pinfall over MVP, Mark Henry, CM Punk and Kofi Kingston.

Big Show vs. Jesse and Festus
2 on 1 Handicap match

Jesse and Festus were no match together for the World's Largest Athlete, Big Show. Early on Show was able to manhandle Festus, knocking him to the mat and even stepping on his neck. The tag team partners tried to doubleteam Show for a takedown, but Show ended up knocking Festus down then Chokeslamming Jesse for the victory.

Winner: Big Show wins via pinfall over Jesse & Festus.

Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero

Rey Mysterio had a tune up match on Smackdown against a familiar opponent, Chavo Guerrero. In the matchup,both men traded momentum, but Rey eventually took control after a 619 on Chavo. From there Rey delivered a series of moves including a kick to the back of Chavo's head. After the pinfall victory, JBL showed up to attack his challenger for WM25. JBL stood above Rey after he layed him out on the mat.

Winner: Rey Mysterio wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

John Cena came out to address the WWE Universe during Smackdown. After vowing to be World Heavyweight Champ after Wrestlemania 25, Big Show arrived down to interrupt. Big Show claimed his love for Vickie makes him stronger than his other 2 opponents for the match. Cena challenged Show to a match on Raw, which Show accepted. Afterwards, Cena attacked Show and knocked him off the apron.

Carlito, Primo Colon and Brie Bella vs. The Miz, John Morrison and Nikki Bella

Morrison and Miz worked effectively together to try to keep Primo away from the tag to Carlito. Eventually, Primo made the escape and Carlito was in to fight back. Carlito won it by hitting the Backstabber on Morrison.

Winners: Carlito, Primo Colon and Brie Bella win via pinfall over The Miz, John Morrison and Nikki Bella

Matt Hardy vs. R-Truth

Looking ahead to his Wrestlemania 25 battle with brother Jeff, Matt decided to take out his frustrations on Smackdown superstar R-Truth. Matt worked to wear down Truth using a submission hold on his neck on the mat. Truth eventually gained momentum after landing a high dropkick on Matt, then rushing at him for several takedowns. Matt was able to regain control though by kicking Truth down, then eventually hitting the Twist of Fate to win it.

Winner: Matt Hardy wins via pinfall over R-Truth.

Michelle McCool vs. Maryse
Divas Championship Match

Maryse retained her Divas Championship against Michelle McCool, but due to the surprise return of a former WWE Diva. The match ended when Gail Kim made her surprise return and hit Michelle off the ropes with a missile dropkick before planting Maryse into the mat with a DDT.

Winner: Match was a no contest after Gail Kim interfered in the match.

Shawn Michaels delivered a message to Undertaker dressed in all white in the ring with druids dresed in white surrounding the ring as he spoke. Shawn was basically mocking Taker and said he represented the light while Taker represents the shadows. Shawn quoted scripture from the Bible and talked about he will be Mr. Wrestlemania and end Taker’s streak.

Undertaker made a surprise appearance as he rose up from underneath the ring to grab HBK & show him he wasn't amused by the mind games. HBK narrowly escaped a Chokeslam by jumping over the ropes. Undertaker remained in the ring looking intensely out at Michaels as Smackdown went off the ar.
