WWE Superstars Recap 05.07.09

In the latest installment of WWE Superstars on WGN, there were 3 matches involving the likes of Chris Jericho, John Morrison, Finlay, Zack Ryder, and the WWE Divas in tag action. Also, Edge hosted a special episode of The Cutting Edge in-ring talk show with his guest, his upcoming Judgment Day opponent, Jeff Hardy.

The Cutting Edge w/Guest Jeff Hardy

Edge hosted his first ever episode of The Cutting Edge on WWE Superstars. His guest was his future opponent for the World Heavyweight Title at Judgment Day, Jeff Hardy. In the ring, Edge tried to insult Hardy telling him he'd lose the title and their rivalry would end at the PPV. Jeff reminded Edge how he beat him for the WWE title months ago. The segment ended with Jeff attacking Edge with a Twist of Fate, then finishing it with a Swanton Bomb.

Kelly Kelly & Santina Marella vs. Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes

Early on in the match, both Beth and Rosa gave Santina a beatdown. Kelly Kelly got involved and started to gain momentum against Beth Phoenix. Kelly used a headscissors and dropkick on the Glamazon. Beth turned the tide against Kelly, allowing Rosa to come in and show her stuff. Despite Rosa trying to help Beth gain revenge on Miss Wrestlemania, Santina, Kelly Kelly was able to score a pinfall on Rosa to help her team win it.

Winners: Santina Marella & Kelly Kelly win via pinfall over Rosa Mendes & Beth Phoenix.

Finlay vs. Zack Ryder

ECW's newest roster member, Zack Ryder had a shot to show interim GM Tiffany what he was made of. Unfortunately in his debut, he lost to the man that loves to fight. Finlay was able to hit the Celtic Cross to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Finlay wins via pinfall over Zack Ryder.

John Morrison vs. Chris Jericho

On last week's Smackdown, Morrison and Jericho had a brief encounter backstage, leading up to this match. In the encounter, Jericho tried to keep Morrison grounded early, and Morrison was able to use hi aerial attack to keep momentum in his favor. At one point, Morrison dropkicked Jericho on the outside through the ropes. Jericho was able to apply the Walls of Jericho in the ring. Jericho disputed with the ref over a near pinfall that the ref counted as 2. Morrison took advantage by attacking Jericho as he argued with the ref, but Shelton Benjamin appeared on the Titantron, distracting Morrison. This allowed Jericho to hit Morrison with the Codebreaker to grab a pinfall victory.

Winner: Chris Jericho wins via pinfall over John Morrison.
