Mysterio Intercontinental Title Situation

With the news just a few days ago that Rey Mysterio will be receiving a 30 day suspension starting next week, fans may be wondering what will become of his championship status or Breaking Point match. It would seem at this point that the title will somehow be moved off him due to the suspension, much like it was moved off Jeff Hardy a year or so ago when he was suspended. In the past, certain wrestlers have appeared at one TV show taping or PPV despite their suspension. In this case, it's questionable whether Rey will do that with Breaking Point.

My best guess is we're going to either see Ziggler win the title on Smackdown next Tuesday, or we'll see another match happen on Smackdown to determine another contender for Rey's title. Of course if it's the second option, WWE will have to explain how the title was vacated. I still think we'll get an Intercontinental Title match at Breaking Point with Ziggler as championg going in or coming out of the PPV.

So the likely opponent we'll see for the IC title at Breaking Point? Well we may see a Mike Knox vs. Finlay match on Smackdown. They could also hold a mini tournament and give Ziggler a bye for the first round. I'd venture that Kane and John Morrison would make other good contenders as well as Matt Hardy. It'd be great to see a Morrison vs. Ziggler match for Breaking Point, so let's hope it goes that direction, rather than Ziggler-Finlay.
