WWE Superstars Recap 08.13.09

Tonight's WWE Superstars on WGN America featured another three exciting matches with superstars from Raw, ECW and Smackdown all in action. On this episode we got to see Smackdown's John Morrison in action against the other half of Hart Dynasty, Goldust and Sheamus renwed their ECW feud, and a mixed gender tag match from Raw for our main event! Here's the complete recaps and results for matches on the 08/13/09 episode of WWE Superstars:

John Morrison vs. David Hart Smith

Early on in this one, Smackdown announcer Jim Ross said this could easily be a future Wrestlemania match. Both men exchanged offense, with a series of forearms and takedowns. Morrison gained control when he knocked Smith to the outside. He got ready to jump on him over the ropes, but Natalya shielded her Hart Dynasty member as Superstars went to commercial.

Back from break, the action continued with Smith able to take control by blocking Morrison on the ropes and superplexing him. The Canadian crowd was behind Smith as he exchanged forearms with Morrison. Smith eventually won a backslide strength test but eventually missed his legdrop attempt on Morrison. Morrison tried for a heel chuck, with Smith ducking it and going for a rollup. Morrison was able to hit a Pele kick and tried for Starship Pain, but Smith blocked. Smith tried a suplex, with Morrison landing on the other side on his feet, then landing his kick move from the ropes. From here, he connected with the Starship Pain for the pinfall win.

Winner: John Morrison wins via pinfall over David Hart Smith.

Goldust vs. Sheamus

In yet another entertaining match, ECW's Goldust battled one of its newer stars Sheamus. These two are no strangers in the ring either. During the match, Sheamus was in control until Goldust used uppercuts to gain momentum, followed by a running boot to Sheamus' head. Goldust went for a splash with Sheamus blocking with his knees. Sheamus started to take over. The crowd was behind Goldust as he again built momentum to escape Sheamus working on him. Goldust hit a clothesline and more uppercuts, followed by another clothesline. He hit his trademark drop down uppercut after coming from the ropes to stun Sheamus. The two wrestlers eventually caught each other with a double boot takedown. Sheamus was able to get to his feet first and went to grab his opponent, but a smart Goldust grabbed him into a small package pin for the win.

Winner: Goldust wins via pinfall over Sheamus.

Kofi Kingston & Mickie James vs. Carlito & Rosa Mendes

Early on, a disgruntled Carlito stomped on Kofi in the corner then put a reverse chinlock on him. As the two separated, they went against the ropes and Kofi caught Carlito with a leg whip. Kofi prepared for his double leg drop but Carlito managed to get to his corner and tagged Rosa. Since it was a mixed gender tag, Mickie James was required to enter. She gained the upperhand on Rosa, forcing the guys to tag back in. Kofi was in control and hit the double leg drop then went to the turnbuckle. Rosa interfered and Carlito gave a crotch chop to Kofi. Carlito threw Kofi to the mat then went off the top for a cross body. Mickie and Rosa got into a catfight and ended up on the outside. Kofi tried to run and jump at Carlito in the corner, but Carlito ducked it. With Kofi hanging on the turnbuckle, Carlito was able to hit a unique Backstabber for the win. He and Rosa celebrated on the outside as WWE Superstars ended.

Winners: Carlito & Rosa Mendes win via pinfall over Kofi Kingston and Mickie James.
