WWE NXT Results - Pro's Poll #1

On Tuesday night's episode of WWE NXT on SyFy, they announced the first Pro's Poll. This poll was described in recent weeks as the standings for the NXT Rookies. Votes would be cast by each of the eight pro's involved in the NXT concept, but they could not vote for their own rookies.

The criteria for voting on the NXT rookies would come from four distinct categories: wins/losses, strength of competition, work ethic and "It" factor.

Here's how the first of the WWE NXT Pro's Polls went for 3/30/10:

#8 Darren Young
#7 Michael Tarver
#6 Skip Sheffield
#5 David Otunga
#4 Heath Slater
#3 Justin Gabriel
#2 Wade Barrett
#1 Daniel Bryan

Surprisingly, Bryan captured enough pro votes to come in at #1 on the list, despite an 0-5 record. He's faced some tough competition, including a good showing in his first week against World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho. Bryan also fought against The Great Khali and in several other matches.

The competition was also detailed a bit more by NXT host Matt Striker who noted that each week they'd reveal the rankings and whoever came in last in the poll would be eliminated from NXT. They'll come down to a Final Four, with the winner of it all becoming the NXT breakout superstar. In addition, they are given a title shot of their choice at a WWE Pay-Per-View (hmm seems like a Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz US Title match may be in the works?)

Fans from the WWE Universe can cast their own votes at WWE.com on which rookie has impressed them the most so far. Cast your votes here.

On NXT, they also held a special 8-man battle royal with the winner getting the opportunity to guest host this coming Monday Night's Raw episode. David Otunga was your winner, an attendee of Harvard Law school and fiance of singer/actress Jennifer Hudson. Otunga also is said to have other important connections in the entertainment world, so he may be bringing some surprises to the next Raw!
