Smackdown Recap 03.26.10

Smackdown Recap from San Jose, CA:

This week saw less matches on Smackdown as the show contained more Wrestlemania 26 hype/previews and some behind the scenes Wrestlemania Axxess content from Phoenix, AZ as well.

MITB 10 Man Tag match

In this preview involving all ten participants in Sunday's Money in the Bank ladder match, a team of 5 Raw Wrestlers took on 5 Smackdown wrestlers. Team Smackdown consisting of Drew McIntyre, Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler & Kane picked up the victory over Team Raw's Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, MVP and Christian. The finish saw Christian and Kane in the ring. All hell breaks loose with all the participants, with Kane hitting a double chokeslam. Christian manages to get the Killswitch on Kane, but Drew McIntyre happened to be the legal man. Drew hit his finisher on Christian to score the win. Afterwords, McIntyre sets up a ladder in the ring and tries to climb up to grab the briefcase. All 9 competitors rush the ring to knock him off the ladder.

Winners: Smackdown wrestlers defeat the Raw wrestlers in the MITB 10-man tag match.

Beth Phoenix vs. Vickie Guerrero

Vickie changed the match to a 5-on-1 handicap match, giving The Glamazon some tough odds in the competition. It was Vickie along with Layla, Michelle, Alicia Fox and Maryse taking on Beth. Beth tried to use a spinning move to knock all of the divas outside the ring, but it failed to work. As the ref became distracted, 3 opponents attack Beth, ultimately leaving her layed out for a Vickie winning pinfall.

In the aftermath, the ring was cleared except for Beth and Vickie. Beth grabbed Vickie by her pants and rips them off to reveal pink "Excuse Me" underwear.

Winner: Vickie Guerrero, Michelle McCool, Maryse, Layla and Alicia Fox win via pinfall over Beth Phoenix.

World Champion Chris Jericho arrived to the ring to discuss Wrestlemania 26, where "dreams are born and careers are ended." Jericho talked about his WM26 title match opponent Edge and how it's part of his DNA to keep getting injured time after time. Edge hit the ring to attack Jericho and tried for the Spear, but Jericho escaped the ring to elude it. Jericho left his title belt behind in the ring, allowing Edge to hold it up on display.

R-Truth vs. Big Show

In a preview of one half of this weekend's Unified tag team title match, R-Truth took on Show. Morrison came to the ring to introduce Truth and then the challengers for this weekend made jokes at MizShow's expense. The match never really gets started and Big Show attempts a double chokeslam. Morrison/Truth block it and hit a doubleteam move of their own. Show's partner, The Miz, arrives to the ring but ended up getting hit by Morrison's Starship Pain finisher.

Winner: Match never officially started.

Note: Starting with this Smackdown recap you may notice shorter recaps of the WWE shows and PPV's, in an effort to give quicker results and concise match win/loss details.
