Smackdown results 07/02/10 from Wilkes-Barre, PA:

Todd Grisham and Matt Striker were ready for the show. Grisham announced that tonight Kane will go after another SES member, Luke Gallows to continue gaining revenge for the attack on his brother, The Undertaker. Jack Swagger made his way down to the ring for the opening of the show.

Swagger said starting last week he decided to make others suffer like he has for being cheated out of the World Championship at Fatal 4way. Swagger had footage shown from what he did to Big Show last week with the ankle lock he kept locked on to put Show in serious pain. Show had to be helped up due to the injury to his lower leg/ankle.

Swagger said people should be talking about him, not Money in the Bank. Swagger said his winning the MITB match at WM26 was the defining moment in his career as the biggest star ever. Swagger got teary saying he was cheated out of the title 2 weeks ago at Fatal 4way. As Swagger kept complaing that the fans don't care, Big Show came limping out onto the top of the ramp.

Show told Swagger to stop his crying because nobody cares. Show admitted that Swagger hurt him, but he didn't finish the job. Big Show said he's still standing and breathing so as long as that's the case, he won't stop. Show begged Swagger to try putting the ankle lock on him again. Swagger said he's got nothing else to prove to Show, he made him feel the pain. Swagger said Mysterio will feel the same at MITB PPV when he wins back the title. Show said Swagger keeps talking in fantasy, but in reality Big Show knows he can break Swagger's jaw. Show dropped the mic and began to limp down the ramp on his way to the ring.

Suddenly, Cody Rhodes rushed down the ramp and clipped Show in his hurt leg. Swagger got out of the ring and started pounding on Show with Rhodes. Swagger pushed Show into the ring so the two heels could keep dismantling him. Show was able to retaliate though and chopped both men down. Show started to get back up, and Rey Mysterio rushed to the ring to clear Rhodes and Swagger out.

Cole and Striker reminded fans Money in the Bank PPV is coming up with the MITB ladder match for Smackdown. Eight guys will compete in the ring for a contract giving them a World Heavyweight title shot anytime, anyplace.

As Smackdown returned they showed what Jack Swagger and Cody Rhodes did to Big Show, as well as World Champ Rey Mysterio arriving to help out Show. Striker said Teddy Long has booked a tag match with Show & Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger & "Dashing" Cody Rhodes.

Kofi Kingston arrived to the ring for the next match. Kofi is one of the six guys out of eight selected for Smackdown's Money in the Bank ladder match at the PPV. Also in the match are Matt Hardy, Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Christian and Kane.

Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler was shown walking backstage on his way out for the match. Vickie Guerrero pulled him aside saying if he won tonight against Kofi he becomes #1 contender for the IC title. Vickie noticed Dolph looking over at someone and it was Rosa Mendes doing jumping jacks. Vickie got upset and pulled him away to walk out to the ring.

Late in the match, Ziggler avoided Kofi's spinning kick. Ziggler hit a leg drop to drive Kofi down to the mat, but Kingston kicked out of the pinfall. Ziggler was frustrated over the pin, and he complained to Vickie Guerrero outside the ring. As Dolph turned back towards Kofi, Kofi caught him with SOS kick for the win. Dolph will not get the IC title shot now.

Vickie Guerrero gave Ziggler a look like it wasn't her fault. Ziggler was complaining that he'd always taken care of Vickie. Guerrero walked off up the ramp seeming to dismiss Ziggler.

Winner: Kofi Kingston wins via pinfall over Dolph Ziggler.

Backstage, CM Punk was with Luke Gallows and Serena. Punk wore a sling on right arm. He told Serena to stop, and she suggested Kane won't stop going after them. Serena said all they need to do is "admit it", and Punk said that's the last thing they're going to do. Serena said Punk was in surgery for 10 hours and they don't have control of the situation right now. Gallows told Serena to calm down. Serena said she felt helpless seeing Punk go into the operating room last week. Punk asked if Serena trusts him. Punk said tonight Luke will take care of Kane. Serena said if they don't then she will. Serena left and Punk told Gallows it will all end tonight.

Christian was in the ring for "The Peep Show" with Matt Hardy. There were three ladders set up in the ring. Christian talked about Hardy getting reinstated, and how it's great to see Drew McIntyre get deported. Christian remarked it was also good not to see Matt dropped on his head again. Hardy started talking about he keeps coming back from all the injuries and big scares. Christian announced that "Matt Hardy won't win the Smackdown MITB match." They discussed how they made this match famous, but neither has ever reaped the rewards for winning one.

Christian said he and Hardy probably deserve the victory more than any others do. Christian promised he will win the MITB match. Hardy brought up that they've won all sorts of titles but neither of them has captured the World Title. Hardy and Christian climbed up opposite sides of a ladder which was under the MITB briefcase. Hardy said whoever grabs the briefcase will see their career change, and Hardy promised it will be him.

Christian said he's sick of new guys like Drew McIntyre coming in and getting opportunities without earning it. Christian said now he's got the opportunity to do something and is going to make sure he does. Hardy said he feels the same way. He said he hopes when it comes down to it that he and Christian are the last two battling for that MITB briefcase. Both guys yelled in each other's face "It's gonna be me" as to who will win the MITB. Christian went to leave the ring, then tossed off his hat. He went back towards Hardy, with Matt gaining the upperhand and tossing Christian into a ladder.

"Dashing" Cody Rhodes was shown backstage checking himself out in a locker room mirror. He looked around and pretended to interview himself with a comb as the mic. He asked what his motivation was for attacking Big Show earlier. Rhodes said MITB is his motivation. He said he took the Big Show and made him into a blob of mediocrity. Cody said he was able to hobble Show, making it harder for the World's Largest Athlete to climb a ladder. Rhodes vowed to win the MITB and go on to become the first "Dashing" Heavyweight champion.

Kane's pyro erupted as the Big Red Monster came down to the ring. Luke Gallows came down next along with CM Punk wearing his arm sling. Apparently the injury happened when Kane threw Punk into the steel steps.

Kane vs. Luke Gallows

After Kane got off to an early start, Gallows soon gained the upperhand. Gallows was kicking away at Kane several times, then backed up. Gallows rushed at Kane in the corner, with Kane moving away. Kane prepared to chokeslam Gallows. Just then, the mystery man rushed into the ring to attack causing the DQ. Kane dismantled both Gallows and the mystery man with chokeslams.

Kane turned his focus to CM Punk next. Serena rushed to the ring with a mic pleading with Kane not to hurt him. Serena said she can prove that Punk is innocent and asked Kane to stop hurting him. She hesitated then got into the ring with them. Serena said Punk couldn't have been the one to hurt Undertaker. Serena said on May 31st CM Punk was with her. Serena said Punk was saving her. Kane grabbed Punk around the throat for a chokeslam. Serena told Kane to watch the Titantron.

They showed a security camera videotape from 5/31/10 around 10PM. Serena sat at a bar and was getting drinks. An unknown man came and sat next to her to have shots and drinks with her after 11PM. The man started getting cozy with her. All of a sudden, CM Punk came walking in wearing a baseball cap. He was with Luke Gallows and the mystery man from SES. They scared off the unknown guy at the bar then started to yell at Serena. The action returned to the ring where Kane shoved CM Punk away. Serena got in the ring to make sure Punk was ok as Kane walked up the ramp. Punk was angry with Serena and yelled "Do you have any idea what you just did?"

Winner: Kane wins due to disqualification of Luke Gallows when the SES interfered.

MVP vs. Chavo Guerrero

Chavo had a mic as he came down the ramp. He said he noticed Vickie's little gringo boyfriend couldn't get the job done. Chavo said he will get it done tonight and he should get an IC title shot after.

Late in the match, Chavo had momentum. He took MVP down with the Tres Amigos series of 3 suplexes, then got on the corner for his Frogsplash. MVP rolled away and Chavo landed on his feet. MVP soon knocked Chavo back down to the mat, then did his "Ballin" elbow drop. From there he soon hit the 305 finisher for the pinfall win.

Winner: MVP wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

Kelly Kelly vs. Michelle McCool

Layla accompanied Michelle to the ring and the duo attacked Tiffany on the outside, tossing her into the crowd barrier. Layla started to spray a cannister of air freshener around outside the ring to mock "Smelly Kelly".

The ref started the match with Michelle still outside the ring and he began a countout. Michelle finally got in the ring to start attacking Kelly. Layla went over to the side of the ring and started spraying around the air freshener again. This time, Tiffany rushed over and took Layla down. Michelle came over and grabbed Tiffany through the ropes then kicked her away. Kelly Kelly rushed over and grabbed McCool for a schoolboy surprise pin.

Winner: Kelly Kelly wins via pinfall over Michelle McCool.

Striker and Grisham reviewed what went down on Monday Night Raw when "The Nexus" attacked the WWE legends in the ring.

World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio arrived out to the crowd ovation. Jack Swagger will get his rematch for the title at Money in the Bank 2010 PPV. Mysterio grabbed a mic for an in-ring talk. He said it feels great to re-live his dream and once again be World Champion. Rey said he's ready for all new obstacles that come his way as champion. He said he's fought to get to the top for his entire career, and Jack Swagger won't take that away from him. Rey said he's going to show Swagger that he's not just competing against Rey Mysterio, he's competing against the whole 6-1-9!

Big Show & Rey Mysterio vs. "Dashing" Cody Rhodes & Jack Swagger

Early in the match, Big Show took control against Cody Rhodes. He whipped him hard against the ropes right into Jack Swagger. Swagger fell to the floor and Show pressed Rhodes overhead, then tossed him out onto Swagger. Smackdown went to commercial break.

Late in the match, Mysterio managed to counter a move by Swagger and hit his DDT from the air. Rey jumped over to make a hot tag to Big Show. Show came in and immediately leveled Swagger with a clothesline. Show prepared for the chokeslam, but Swagger tried to counter again by shifting his weight to bring Show down. Show stayed on his feet though and then slammed Swagger backwards to the mat. Show clutched his injured ankle in the aftermath, but managed to make a tag to Rey.

Mysterio did a springboard legdrop on Swagger then had the pin. Rhodes rushed in and broke it up. He ran over and dropkicked Big Show in the ankle to take him off the apron. Cody went outside to further attack Show. Meanwhile, Rey set up Swagger for the 619 in the ring. Rey ran over and went for it, but Swagger grabbed his legs. From there, Swagger put an ankle lock on Mysterio as he held onto the ropes. The ref began to count and eventually hit 5, calling for the bell. Swagger kept the ankle lock on. Big Show managed to get in the ring and got to his feet slowly, with Swagger pulling Rey out of the ring, the ankle lock still on. Finally the ref got him to break the hold on Mysterio. As Swagger and Rhodes backed up the ramp, Show got outside the ring to comfort the fallen champion.

Winners: Rey Mysterio & Big Show win due to disqualification of Jack Swagger & Cody Rhodes.
