She then introduced a “great debate” between Zeb Colter and Paul Heyman. The two had an allotted amount of time to speak about Cesaro and Swagger, with a buzzer sounding as their time ended. It eventually turned into a bit of a shoving match with Zeb shoving Heyman, then Cesaro and Swagger held their managers back.

They had a segment backstage with Vickie on the phone with Triple H complaining that she told Shield to come to talk to her at the office but they haven't. She said Brad Maddox is taking over and will be in charge of the show for the rest of the night and thinks Shield will listen to him.

The Shield gave 3MB a beatdown backstage ahead of their main event handicap match.

Raw Results 06/17/13

Raw Results from Grand Rapids, MI:

The show opened with new world heavyweight champion Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez hitting the ring.  ADR was greeted by boos and talked about how people think the way he attacked Ziggler when he was hurt last night was cowardly.  He brought up Dolph doing the same to him to cash in MITB for the title.  ADR kept going on, telling the people he gave them everything and they never respected his people.  Eventually  Paul Heyman and CM Punk came out to intervene, bringing up how Ziggler deserves a rematch, but he wants a fight tonight.  ADR said he doesn't want to do that.  Vickie Guerrero came out with Brad Maddox and made the match official for later on.

Christian defeated Wade Barrett via pinfall. Captain Charisma made a huge return to action with the fans cheering him on.  Late in the match, he avoided Wasteland and hit the Killswitch on Barrett for the win.

Rhodes Scholars defeated Sheamus via pinfall.  Late in this one, The Celtic Warrior hit White Noise on Cody after bashing him on the chest through the ropes.  He went for the Brogue Kick, but Sandow rushed in from out of nowhere and did a quick roll-up pin for the win.  Post-match, Sheamus was upset and hit the Brogue on Cody, then gave a long stare to Sandow who was on stage.

Triple H was backstage with Vickie and Brad Maddox discussing tonight's show.  He brought up how Christan was cleared for a month-and-a-half but is just being put in a match now.  He also brought up RVD coming back, saying he doesn't recall Vickie or Brad on the calls with him to make that happen.  He then told Vickie she needs to take control of The Shield tonight and make an example.  Hunter told them good job, especially putting 3MB on Raw tonight.  Brad Maddox thought it was a compliment, but Vickie smacked him to tell him HHH was being sarcastic.

In the locker room, Kane and Daniel Bryan started to grip again.  Bryan talked about how he'll beat Orton in his match tonight, then said he wants to go for the WWE Title.  Kane said he wants the same thing.  Kane suggested Bryan is the weak link in their team.  Kane walked off, and Bryan got ready for his match.

Randy Orton defeated Daniel Bryan in a No DQ match via referee stoppage.  Late in the match, Bryan started up a comeback.  Orton kicked him to the outside of the ring.  The fight spilled to the outside, with Orton eventually dropping Bryan back-first onto the guardrail.  Due to concerns over Bryan re-injuring his shoulder injury from Payback, the officials decided to call the match giving it to Orton.

Post-match, Bryan was leaning against the guardrail, so Orton went over, patted him on the shoulder and hugged him to show good sportsmanship.

The new Divas champ AJ came out to the ring with just Big E Langston.  She said Dolph couldn't be here tonight to share in her joy due to not being medically-cleared.  She talked about how she played mind games to get the title from Kaitlyn.  Stephanie McMahon came out to interrupt, talking about how AJ is feeding into stereotypes where women try to tear each other down rather than build each other up.  AJ brought up how Steph married a WWE superstar, rather than just dating one, and also her "daddy issues."  Steph said she can take away AJ's title at any time and leave her out of a job.

Kaitlyn came out onto the ramp with several other divas behind her.  She came to the ring, with Stephanie telling her never to interrupt again, but saying she'll give her a pass tonight.  Kaitlyn said she was going to mess up AJ for messing with her mind, then attacked her in the ring.  Eventually, Big E intervened to carry AJ away from harm's way.

Kane defeated Dean Ambrose via DQ in a US Title match.  During this one, Cole brought up Bryan's injury from his match against Orton, saying Bryan has "possible nerve damage."  Roman Reigns got into the ring to attack Kane, then Seth Rollins provided a distraction, allowing Reigns to hit a big spear.  That was enough for the DQ.  Post-match, The Shield hit a Triple Powerbomb on Kane then left through the crowd, with Cole wondering what Vickie will say or do about them.

Backstage, Mark Henry was seen embracing Primetime Players and Tamina Snuka.  D-Young seemed emotional about it, so Titus tried to comfort him a bit.  The announcers talked about Henry possibly retiring.

Backstage, Shield was walking down the hall, when Vickie and Brad Maddox confronted them.  Ambrose asked if Vickie was going to spank them or put them in time-out.  Vickie was about to give them some disciplinary action when Vince McMahon came in to interrupt.  He said The Shield reminds him of himself, ruthless aggression.  He sent them on their way before telling Vickie he never liked that "Halloween mask wearing freak anyways."

Zeb Colter came out to talk about the government spying, foreigners sneaking into the country, and the country being at war.  He eventually said it's time to prove he and Swagger are not prejudicial, so they have aligned themselves with a man of honor, respect and integrity.  Antonio Cesaro was introduced, and came to the ring for a match against William Regal.

Antonio Cesaro defeated William Regal via pinfall in under 3 minutes.  Cesaro hit a spinning reverse chin lock on Regal, before adjusting his neck.  After smirking at the crowd, Cesaro finished Regal with the Neutralizer.  Post-match, Colter brought in a flag, which Cesaro opened up.  It said "Don't Treat on Me" on a yellow flag, which Cesaro covered Regal with.  He and Colter saluted the crowd after.

John Cena came to the ring to a mixed reaction and talked about how he's ready for his next challenge.  He said moments like the Royal Rumble, and challengers like Punk, Rock and Ryback have made him proud to stand in the ring saying "The Champ is Here!"  Cole noted Cena seemed more confident than ever.  He talked about being ready for his next challenge at MITB, and how the winner of that MITB match has a chance to cash in on him.  Cena kept on, saying "Because our time is now! Because the Champ is here!"  Suddenly, Mark Henry's music hit and he came out, carrying his wrestling boots.  He placed them down on stage, then marched down to the ring.

Cena prepared to leave the ring, but Henry asked him to stay.  He said he respects everyone who loves this business, and the people who work for the company because of how difficult it is.  He kept on, talking about being a veteran back in 2002, when Cena was just starting out with WWE.  Multiple Mark Henry chants and even a Sexual Chocolate chant broke out during his speech.

He talked up Cena being the greatest champion of all-time, then said he regrets that he never won the WWE title himself.  He said he's here to make it known, that he's there to formally retire from the roster.  Henry thanked everyone, and Cena handed him the WWE belt as a sign of respect.  He applauded Henry who then said you have to earn this, and handed it back to Cena.

Henry talked about finally being able to see his wife and daughter more.  He said "Baby I'm coming home," then paused to pose with Cena in the ring with hands raised.  Cena hugged Henry, but all of a sudden, Henry grabbed the champ and hit World's Strongest Slam.  He ripped off his suit and tie and yelled at Cena "I still got a lot left in this tank!"  He left the ring and the announcers looked at a replay.  Up on stage, Henry yelled "This is what I do!"

Backstage, Renee Young caught up with Mark Henry to ask what just happened in the ring.  He said he had everyone fooled because they're a bunch of puppets.  Henry said the only title he's never held is the WWE title, so he's challenging Cena for it right now.  He said he's carrying two boots because he will leave one of them in Cena's rear.

Chris Jericho defeated Heath Slater via pinfall.  3MB tried to help Slater cheat, with Slater getting a near fall.  However, Jericho nailed his big moves and then hit him with a Codebreaker to win it.  Post-match, the rest of 3MB tried to jump Jericho, but he hit Codebreakers on everyone.

Backstage, Paul Heyman was talking up how great Curtis Axel is.  Striker asked about his relationship with CM Punk lately, with Heyman saying sometimes friends need to give each other space.  He started to talk up Axel saying he was born to be "better than perfect."  Heyman walked off with Axel.

Alberto Del Rio came out to the ring for his entrance with Ricardo Rodriguez, right before Raw went to break.  After break, Del Rio's music was still going, as he posed in the ring.  Finally, Punk's music hit drawing loud cheers from the crowd.  Visibly absent was Paul Heyman.

CM Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio due to countout in a non-title match. At one point, Punk went for GTS, with Del Rio elbowing his way out.  Del Rio rolled to the outside, so an upset Punk did his running suicide dive to take ADR down.  Punk rolled ADR back in the ring, only for RR to distract Punk and Del Rio yanked Punk's arm hard against the top rope, eventually causing him to hit the mat before break.  After commercials, Del Rio was working on Punk's hurt arm in the ring.  Punk fought back hitting a big boot when ADR charged, but Del Rio hit a backbreaker for a near fall.  Cole announced that Daniel Bryan suffered a "stinger" not a serious injury, so he'll compete against Dean Ambrose on SmackDown Friday.  Cole said Bryan complained to HHH about the ref stopping his match earlier, yelling at HHH at one point.

Del Rio went for a move off the corner, but Punk punched I'm in the gut, still holding his arm to sell the injury.  Punk went to kick Del Rio in the head, but ADR ducked it and dropped Punk with a Codebreaker to hurt his arm some more.  Punk went to the apron, and ADR went over to punch him in the back multiple times before hitting the Backstabber for a near fall.

Later in the match, Punk finally connected with GTS, but it was near the ropes and ADR rolled to the outside. The ref started to count him out with Punk down in the ring holding his left arm.  Ricardo and ADR started to back up the ramp, so the ref counted him out, then called for the bell.  Suddenly, out of nowhere, Dolph Ziggler came out and attacked Del Rio, throwing Ricardo aside and jumping on Del Rio.  Ricardo tried to pull him away several times.  ADR finally took off running towards backstage with Ziggler chasing after him.  Meanwhile, Punk had his arm raised as the winner in the ring.

The celebration was cut short when Brock Lesnar's music hit and he came out onto the stage with Punk looking puzzled in the ring.  Lesnar posed for a bit then made his way to the ring.  He walked around the outside, staring at Punk, then jumped up on the apron to get into the ring.  Lesnar paced around with Punk keeping his eyes on him.  Lesnar got a mic to deliver his message, but instead of speaking he looked at Punk, dropped the mic and quickly hit him with the F5 to leave Punk face first on the mat.  Lesnar paced around him to survey the damage, smirking, before he left the ring with his music playing.

Wade Barrett defeated Randy Orton via pinfall.  Late in the match, Orton hit a series of moves including several clotheslines and his powerslam.  Wade managed to get his own takedown in for a 2 count.  Orton hits the patented DDT from the ropes, then gets down on the mat to prepare for the RKO.  As Orton gets ready to strike, Del Rio comes walking down the ramp.  The distraction allows Barrett to hit the Souvenir Elbow from behind for the victory.  Post-match, Del Rio got into the ring to beat up on Orton.  Orton ducked a kick from Del Rio and went for the RKO, but Del Rio escaped the ring to flee.

Eve & Aksana defeated Layla & Kaitlyn via pinfall in a divas tag match.  Kaitlyn hit a reverse elbow late in this one.  At one point, all four divas got in the ring to fight at once.  Kaitlyn holds Eve for Layla to hit.  Eve ducks though and Layla hits Kaitlyn in the head.  Eve pins Kaitlyn for the win.

The final segment had Josh Matthews in the ring.  He introduced the World Champion Sheamus, and then Big Show.  Security is in the ring and forms a line in the middle of the ring to keep the two competitors apart.  Show talks about how his KO Punch is more devastating than the Brogue Kick.  Show has footage shown of Sheamus trying to Brogue Kick him on Raw and getting shoved out of the ring.  Show says Sheamus got his boot to chest level.  He says he's a giant and Sheamus can't kick him in the head.

Sheamus responds saying he started salivating when Show became the #1 contender, because Show's a legend, but he's ready for the challenge.  Show acts like he's scared.  Sheamus says he'll choke Show down to size if he has to and hit him with as many Brogue Kicks as needed to win.  Sheamus says the time for fighting is now, and jumps Show across the security line.  They clear out all the security guards.  Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick, but Show ducks it and exits the ring.  They staredown to finish Smackdown.

The Miz vs. Santino Marella
United States Championship Match

This match was a special live pre-show match streaming on WWE's YouTube channel prior to the PPV event.

The Miz arrived out first with a mic in hand cutting a promo about how he main evented Wrestlemania last year, and now he isn't part of the main Extreme Rules PPV.  He drew heat saying he doesn't suck because he's not from Chicago.  Miz concluded with his "Awesome" phrase right before Santino hit the ring.

Striker mentioned an icon who was part of Wrestlemania is rumored to be on his way to Extreme Rules tonight.  Santino got an early advantage by pulling down the top rope and letting Miz fall out of the ring.  Moments later he chased Miz out of the ring threatening with The Cobra.

Miz gained control later after a near rollup pinfall from Santino, by clotheslining Santino down hard.  Miz missed on a move off the corner allowing Santino to punch him in the gut.  Santino started to go through his move set including the breakdancing split and hip toss.  He got the Cobra ready, but Miz kicked him and pushed him into the corner.  Santino managed to avoid a charging Miz though and then wound up his Cobra punch for the big win.

Winner: Santino Marella wins by pinfall over The Miz to retain the United States Championship.

Backstage, Eve was standing by with Big Show, Cody Rhodes and Teddy Long (wearing a Teddy name tag). She told them they'd be spinning the big wheel to determine a match type for the Intercontinental Championship tonight. She ordered Teddy to spin the wheel and he reluctantly did so. The wheel landed on "Tables Match" which drew chuckles from Show telling Rhodes "good luck putting me through a table." Show walked off and Rhodes blamed Teddy for this. Eve agreed and Teddy asked "what did I do?"

The official Pay-Per-View opened at 8PM EST with an intro video package.  The video focused on Cena vs Lesnar, with the idea that Lesnar is a destructive machine who has dominated opponents in wrestling and mixed martial arts.  Cena talked about how he has to climb this new hurdle.  Lesnar kept talking about how he's not afraid of anything or anyone.

The pyro went off and Michael Cole introduced things from the arena with 14,817 fans on hand.  A huge explosion went off and then Kane's music started up to bring the Big Red Monster out for the first contest.

Randy Orton vs. Kane
Falls Count Anywhere

Early on the pipe came into play with Orton going after Kane.  Things spilled over into the crowd area with Lilian Garcia having to get out of harm's way.  Orton and Kane traded shots with Orton repeatedly smashing Kane face first onto a crowd barrier in the audience.  Both guys had near falls out on the pavement area in the crowd.

Things continued up the stairs in the crowd with little kids trying to stay out of their way.  They ended up at the Extreme Rules set on stage, with Orton managing to get a big dropkick to take down Kane.  His pinfall was unsuccessful.

The fight continued backstage to the locker room area with Kane smashing Orton into various crates of equipment.  Orton regained control and smashed Kane through a door into a room where various WWE stars were watching.  Zack Ryder came out of nowhere and started to attack Kane from behind.  Kane grabbed Ryder around the throat, but Orton jumped on Kane, then hit a backbreaker.

Eventually they reemerged from backstage with Orton landing shots and driving Kane down the ramp.  Back in the ring, Orton had momentum after the scoop slam.  He slid out of the ring and retrieved a steel chair to come back in and bash Kane with repeatedly.

Kane got out of the ring and Orton went after him.  He ripped apart the commentators table and fans chanted "R-K-O."  Kane grabbed Orton for a chokeslam, but Orton countered and slammed Kane on the table.  He followed with a DDT from the table to the outside floor.  However, Kane still kicked out.

Things went back to the ring with Kane in control, trying to go to the top.  Orton crotched him on the turnbuckle and punched away on him, then went for a superplex and landed it.  Kane survived another pin attempt.  Moments later, Kane avoided the RKO and hit a chokeslam with Orton barely getting his shoulder up before 3.

The finish saw Kane try to tombstone Orton on a steel chair on the mat.  Orton slipped off his back and then connected on the RKO, smashing Kane face first into the chair for a pin.

Winner: Randy Orton wins via pinfall over Kane.

Backstage, Eve and John Laurinaitis were talking about how "extreme" the Orton vs Kane match just was.  Eve said she had a special surprise and called in Teddy.  He wheeled in a cart with champagne on it, then said they were toasting to "change and People Power."  Laurinaitis got a call on his cell from Triple H.  He said "sure I can talk, let me go to a more private place."  Eve made sure Teddy's name tag was in place.

The Funkosaurus Brodus Clay came out with Hornswoggle and the Funkettes.  Cole complained that the little guy is still hanging out with Brodus Clay.  Cole called him a "smelly troll."  After Clay's pyro exploded from the ringposts, Vickie Guerrero started up with her "Excuse Me" bit and introduced her wrestler Dolph Ziggler.  Jack Swagger followed behind in a suit.

Brodus Clay vs. Dolph Ziggler

Early on, Clay got distracted by Swagger on the ring apron.  He went over after him but Swagger dropped off.  Ziggler dropkicked Clay over the top rope to the outside.  As the ref was warning Ziggler in the ring, Swagger took off his suit coat and ran down Clay.  Back in the ring, Ziggler had a near fall after hitting the Zig Zag.

Towards the end of the match, Clay managed to escape two sleeper holds from Ziggler.  Swagger got up on the apron and Clay ran over to bump him off.  Ziggler tried for a flying move, with Clay batting him down from the air with a headbutt.  He followed with his huge splash move for the win.  The Funkettes and Hornswoggle joined Clay in the ring to celebrate with some dancing.

Winner: Brodus Clay defeated Dolph Ziggler by pinfall.

Cody Rhodes vs. The Big Show
Intercontinental Championship Match

The stipulation for this match will be determined by the spin of a wheel on Sunday prior to the match.  Early on, Show was all over Cody Rhodes, tossing him all around the place.  He continued to dominate throughout.  However, a key moment occurred when Show had tossed Cody back into the ring.  Show got up on the apron and tried to step over the top rope.  Rhodes rushed over and kicked Show in the leg hard, causing him to lose his footing.  A table was set up right next to the apron and Show step down through it, causing the table to break.  The ref looked over, saw the table was broken with Show standing on it, and called for the bell.

Post-match, Show was livid with himself and got in the ring to knock down Cody.  He followed by chokeslamming him through a table.  The crowd chanted "one more time" and Show turned back, picked up Cody overhead and tossed him out to make him smash through another table.  Refs attended to Rhodes outside the ring to help him up.

Winner: Cody Rhodes wins the Tables Match to become new Intercontinental Champion.

Backstage, Matt Striker interviewed Daniel Bryan asking him to give reasons he can defeat Sheamus tonight.  Bryan kept listing out how he was better than Sheamus, and insulted the Chicago crowd, before starting up a "Yes Yes Yes!" chant which the crowd joined.  As Bryan left the interview, the camera showed AJ come out from the shadows near some WWE boxes.

Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus

2-out-of-3 Falls Match for World Heavyweight Championship

Early on, Sheamus was able to lock in a Boston Crab style submission but Bryan crawled to grab the bottom rope. Bryan went for a Hurricanrana on Sheamus up on the corner, but Sheamus countered and then hit his battering ram move.  Bryan kicked out of the pinfall.  Moments later, Bryan pulled down the top rope and caused Sheamus to fall out.  He prepared for the suicide dive but Sheamus was on his feet and punched him as he ran to the ropes.

Back in the ring, Bryan tried several times for the Lebelle Lock but couldn't get it.  Just moments later, Sheamus went shoulder first into the corner ringpost, and Cole noted his wrist pad got caught on the post, seeming to pull his shoulder out.  Bryan began to attack the left shoulder injury.

Back in the ring, Bryan was repeatedly attacking Sheamus near the ropes, kicking him multiple times in the hurt arm.  The ref tried to get Bryan to stop but he wouldn't so the ref called for the bell.  Bryan lost Fall 1 due to that DQ.

They reset in opposite corners and then Bryan rushed to dropkick Sheamus hard.  He locked on the Lebell "Yes" Lock with Sheamus struggling to grab the bottom rope.  Sheamus never tapped but he wasn't moving after a while, giving Daniel Bryan the second fall, making it 1-1.  Bryan started doing his Yes, Yes, Yes chant to lead the crowd.  The ref called a few medical staff in the ring to see if Sheamus could continue.

The refs and med staff got Sheamus to the corner where he said he would continue.  A "Yes-No" back and forth chant rang out around the arena as things reset.  Sheamus got to his feet and Bryan rushed at him.  Sheamus went forward with a Brogue Kick to lay out Bryan.  He took several moments, then crawled over to make the cover.  Bryan barely kicked out of the pinfall.

Sheamus and Bryan kept battling with the champ down on his knees on the mat.  Bryan would kick him in the back with Sheamus punching back.  A huge kick was landed by Bryan to Sheamus' head, but The Celtic Warrior escaped a pinfall attempt.  The two ended up fighting on the top rope with Bryan shoving Sheamus to the mat.  He went for a diving move and Sheamus rolled away.  Just moments later, Sheamus managed to connect on another Brogue Kick and scored the pinfall win.

Winner: Sheamus wins 2-1 in the 2-out-of-3 Falls match over Daniel Bryan to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

Aaron Relic & Jay Hatton vs. Ryback

The two amateurs got on the mic prior to the match talking about how they were going to be the first guys to make a name for themselves in their first match, unlike the others on Smackdown. They started doing a math lesson yelling "two is better than one" as the crowd kept replying "What?!" Finally, Ryback came out to interrupt. A "Goldberg" chant started up in the arena.

The smaller of the two amateurs started things out with several kick attempts which did nothing to Ryback. Ryback smashed him against the mat multiple times, before dragging him over to the corner for a tag. His partner wanted to part of it, but Ryback tossed him into the ring. He made quick work of him though. Things ultimately ended with Ryback hitting his finisher on the smaller guy, then piling both wrestlers on top of each other to pin them.

Backstage, Great Khali and Santino were shown watching a flatscreen monitor and commenting on how impressive that was.

Winner: Ryback defeated Aaron Relic and Jay Hatton by pinfall.

Matt Striker interviewed CM Punk backstage in the locker room. Punk told Striker to pause to let the Chicago fans cheer. Striker asked Punk's thoughts going into tonight's "highly-emotional" title defense. Punk said tonight's match is a street fight, Chicago style. He said everyone knows what that is here, but not Jericho. Punk said he's done playing games tonight.

Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk
Chicago Street Fight for the WWE Championship

As Punk arrived to the ring, he went over and gave a headband/bandana to his sister who was in the crowd with other friends and family.  A huge "CM Punk" chant rang out from the hometown fans prior to the introductions with Jericho smirking.

Punk had the early advantage, using a Kendo stick to bash on Jericho in the ring.  Jericho hid behind the ref at one point and hit a thumb to Punk's eye to gain the upperhand.  Jericho then smashed the Kendo stick into Punk's gut on the apron.  He followed with a leaping kick from the side ropes to kick Punk off the apron.  Jericho stayed in control, eventually pulling the turnbuckle cover off the corner.  Moments later he avoided Punk's running knee in the corner and Punk fell out of the ring.

On the outside, Jericho went over to where Punk's family was sitting, and tore the barrier cover up before smashing Punk against it.  Jericho threw Punk to the side and then started yelling in Punk's sister's face.  She slapped him in the face, enraging Jericho.  He turned to go back at her, but Punk was up and rushed over to jump on him.

From there, Punk had lost it and tore apart the commentators table covers.  He smashed Jericho through one of them, then went for a piledriver near the other.  Punk couldn't connect and Jericho tossed him over his back.  Jericho followed with a huge shot to the back using a TV monitor.

Back in the ring, Punk thought he regained control but as he went for a springboard move from the ropes, Jericho struck him in the stomach with a Kendo stick.  He kept yelling at Punk to look at his sister, then went out of the ring and grabbed a can of beer from under the ring.  Jericho opened the can of beer and poured it all over Punk drawing boos from the crowd.  Jericho beat on Punk more then went out and got another can of beer.  This time as Jericho raised the toast, Punk was up and kicked  him in the gut.

Punk stayed in control, hitting an impressive swinging neckbreaker, followed by the high knee to Jericho in the corner.  He followed with the Bulldog, then limped over to grab the Kendo stick.  He used that to crotch Jericho then gave the GTS sign.  He got Jericho on his shoulders, but Jericho slid out and went for Walls of Jericho.  Moments later, Punk hit a huge powerslam for a near fall.

Later on, Punk still in control hit his Macho Man elbow from the corner for another near fall.  Later Jericho managed to regain control and went for a Lionsault, but Punk sprang to his feet and got under Jericho's shoulders, putting him into the GTS.  Jericho escaped yet again, shoved Punk into the corner and had a near rollup pinfall.

Jericho managed to hit the Codebreaker on Punk and after a brief pause he locked on the Walls of Jericho.  Punk had nowhere to go in the center of the ring but tried to power over to the ropes.  He finally managed to reach the ropes, but there was no DQ, so there was no break.  Somehow as Punk was draped over the apron, still in the Walls of Jericho, he grabbed a fire extinguisher that was under the ring.  Punk then aimed the hose at Jericho and blasted it in his face.  Punk then smashed it in his gut and chased Jericho to the outside.

Jericho ended up layed out on the Spanish commentators table.  Punk got in the ring and went up on the top rope.  He stumbled nearly losing his balance up there, then regained himself and jumped for a huge elbow drop to smash Jericho through the table.  Both guys were layed out and finally Punk brought Jericho back to the ring.

The close saw Punk manage to drop Jericho onto the exposed turnbuckle (Jericho revealed earlier) and then connected on GTS for the big win.  Post-match, Punk went outside the ring and dove onto the crowd where his family was to celebrate with them.

Winner: CM Punk defeated Chris Jericho by pinfall in a Chicago Street Fight to retain the WWE Championship.

Backstage, Eve walked up to where The Bella Twins were telling Beth she doesn't look like she'll have a change on her hurt ankle tonight.  Beth said she'll compete on one leg.  Eve told her she can't compete according to the medical reports.  Beth was angered by it but told the Bellas one day that divas championship is coming back to her.  The Bellas suggested they'd have the night off now, but Eve told them no, the fans want a Divas title match so they'll get one.  Eve told them not to worry because their opponent isn't Karma.  The Bellas joked it was Mae Young.  Eve told them that was a good one, but said their opponent would be a surprise.

Layla vs. Nikki Bella
WWE Divas Championship Match

The Bellas got on the mic to talk about how the title was staying with them for the longest reign ever. They asked for their opponent to come out and she didn't at first, so they suggested the opponent must be scared. Then Laycool's music hit and Layla came back to return to the WWE.

Layla managed to withstand some attacks on her previously injured leg. She also withstood the "Twin magic" when Brie got in the ring to take Nikki's place behind the ref's back. Brie went for the finishing face plant, but Layla countered and then hit a neckbreaker finisher to get the pinfall win. Layla celebrated as new champion.

Winner: Layla wins via pinfall over Brie Bella to become the new WWE Divas Champion.

Backstage, Matt Striker rushed up to find John Laurinaitis walking down the hall. He asked what he and Triple H were talking about earlier. Laurinaitis wouldn't say what it was, just that they are two of the top execs in WWE right now. He said he has other things to focus on now, like Brock Lensar's return to the ring for his first match in a long time.

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar
Extreme Rules Match

Lesnar wore his UFC gear including shorts and gloves into the ring against Cena who wore his usual jean shorts.  Cena went for an early charge to try to tackle Lesnar, but Brock tackled him down and started using UFC style clubbing moves on him.  Cena tried for another move but Lesnar took him down yet again.  Cena finally had a takedown, but once again Lesnar took over and busted open Cena this time.  With Cena bleeding profusely, the ref brought in a medical staff to check on Cena.  That stopped things as they tried to get the blood stopped on Cena's forehead.

Cena went for another charging attack, but once again was taken down, and beat on by Lesnar.  Lesnar hit a big knee to Cena's side, then knocked him out of the ring.  The ref went over to check on Cena once again.  When Cena finally got back in the ring, he managed to get Lesnar up on his shoulders, but Lesnar slipped out of the AA and then hit two German Suplexes.

Moments later, Cena gained momentum and elbowed Lesnar in the forehead twice.  He charged against the ropes then came back to throw his shoulder into Lesnar.  The ref got caught behind Lesnar who fell into him, knocking the ref out, and out of the ring.  From there, Lesnar took control batting Cena down on an attempted move.

Lesnar kept attacking Cena, trying to break his left arm in the corner of the ring.  Cena fell to the outside, and Lesnar went out for more punishment then tossed Cena into the ring.  On the way into the ring, Brock grabbed Cena's big steel chain to use as a weapon.  He dropped the chain though and then continued picking Cena apart with kicks and knees.  Brock put the chain around Cena's legs then taunted him to stand up.  As Cena got up he rushed and bulldozed Cena down to the mat.

Lesnar then hung Cena from the corner with his legs and the steel chain.  Lesnar kept picking apart Cena, smashing his arm against the apron, before dropping Cena to the outside floor.  Lesnar went over to check on the ref, but then walked back over and Cena was ready to attack.  Brock withstood that, and whipped Cena into the steel steps, before going over and tossing the ref back into the ring.

Moments later, Cena was back in the ring and got Lesnar up for the AA.  However, Brock slipped out and put up Cena in the F5.  As he swung Cena around, Cena's feet knocked the ref out and down again.  Brock completed the move and had a pin with another ref coming to count it.  Cena barely got his arm up.  Lesnar took out his frustration by knocking out the other ref, then grabbing the ring steps to bring in the ring.

With the steps in the middle of the ring, Cena tried to fight Lesnar yet again, but this time Brock locked in an armbar submission from MMA causing Cena to scream in pain.  A "Lets Go Cena, Cena Sucks" chant started up and Cena managed to use his power to stand up with Lesnar and slam him against the ring steps.  Cole noted that it looked like Cena had no use of his left arm.

Cena went for a big leg drop on Lesnar who was hanging over the steel steps  Lesnar avoided it though and Cena hit the mat hard, then rolled to the outside floor.  Lesnar finally got up looking around for Cena.  He stood up on the steps challenging Cena to get back in the ring.

As Cena got onto the apron, Lesnar rushed from across the ring, and then jumped from the steel steps, launching himself at Cena.  Cena hit the side crowd barrier, and Lesnar fell over the ropes, apparently hurting his knee in the process.  Moments later, Lesnar brushed off the injury and got back in the ring.

Cena got on the apron again and Lesnar tried to rush at him, but this time Cena had his chain and smashed Brock in the hed, busting him open.  Cena waited for Lesnar to pull himself up by the ropes, then hoisted him up for the AA onto the steel steps to win the match.

Winner: John Cena wins by pinfall over Brock Lesnar in an Extreme Rules match.

Post-match, Lesnar left without getting any medical attention, limping and walking gingerly up the ramp.  Meanwhile, doctors and med staff checked on Cena in the ring.  Both guys had been bloodied up on their foreheads.  The commentators reviewed the highlights, with Cole saying "Cena is still the face of the WWE."  Cena went to leave the ring on his own, but got back in there and stood up on the ring steps to salute the fans, before leaving.  A bloodied Cena walked around the ring staring out looking dazed.  He looked at the camera and asked "Mom how'd I do, do I look ok?  I'm in one piece, I'm ok."  Lawler brought up Cena's loss to the Rock at Mania, but said it seems Cena is back after this big win tonight.

Cena got a mic and sat down on the ring steps to speak.  He mentioned out he might get sent home or fired now by "his boss."  Cena said he knows it's CM Punk's town but above all else it's a wrestling town.  He said he's got no feeling in his left arm and is tasting his own blood, but is proud to do it in Chicago.  Cena said if he's going away for a while, "thanks for one last ride."  Cena thanked the crowd, then left the ring.  Cole said "that's what John Cena is all about."  The PPV ended with Cena at the top of the ramp holding up one arm to salute the crowd.

Smackdown opened with a video to show what happened between Randy Orton and Wade Barrett's match last week, with Orton thrown down a flight of stairs, and Barrett exiting the arena.  Josh Matthews and Michael Cole were on hand for commentary, and promised to update Orton's status later on.

Cody Rhodes defeated Booker T by pinfall to retain the Intercontinental Championship.  The match finished with several reversals, before Cody hit the Beautiful Disaster kick to get the win.

Later, Rhodes was shown walking backstage, with Dustin Rhodes coming up to congratulate him for beating a legend.  Cody told him that if he wans to put on his gold paint again for another run, he'll take him from joke to laughing stock.

Backstage, Zack Ryder walked into Teddy Long's office and said he had to move on from being Long's assistant.  Ryder said he had someone in mind, but just then Drew McIntyre walked in.  Ryder said he meant Santino, not Drew.  Santino came in with his Cobra puppet.  Drew got into Santino's face leading to Long booking them in a match.  He said if Drew wins he'll consider not firing him, and if Santino wins he gets to be Long's assistant.

Drew and Santino left the office, so Aksana came in.  Teddy asked her out for dinner and she said yes.

Backstage, AJ and Alicia Fox were talking about Daniel Bryan with Alicia saying she hoped his ego could handle a loss tonight.  Bryan came walking up saying his ego has no worries, he's already defeated Big Show.  Alicia left, so Bryan chastised AJ for hanging out with Alicia Fox.  AJ said Alicia's worried about Daniel just like she is.  Bryan asked her if she thinks he can't beat Big Show, because after he does he's taking her out to celebrate.

Hornswoggle defeated Heath Slater in an Over-the-Top-Rope Challenge match.  Hornswoggle managed to grab Slater's hair when he tried to throw him over the top rope, then dragged him over and out of the ring.  Post-match, Slater tried to attack Hornswoggle with Justin Gabriel rushing out to make a save.

Hunico defeated Ted Dibiase by pinfall after hitting his finisher.  Dibiase had gone for Dream Street, but Hunico avoided it and shoved Dibiase into the corner shoulder-first.

Wade Barrett came out and had the video of him throwing Orton down a flight of stairs shown again.  He said he told the doctors to stay backstage because he can give the medical update: Orton has a herniated disk and his career is over.  Wade said if Orton comes back, he won't be the same.  Barrett said the 2012 Royal Rumble will be held in Orton's hometown, but he'll have to sit and watch with everyone else as Wade Barrett wins it.

Sheamus came out to interrupt the speech, and said Barrett's going to have problems at the Rumble, including himself.  Sheamus kept trash talking Barrett, until Jinder Mahal's music hit and he came to the ring to interrupt.  Jinder started beating up on Sheamus, but Sheamus fought back.  Barrett attacked Sheamus, but Sheamus gained control and almost hit the Celtic Cross.  Jinder Mahal kicked Sheamus, then Barrett did Winds of Change slam before leaving.  Jinder Mahal locked the Camel Clutch on Sheamus for a while then left him layed out in the ring.

Santino Marella defeated Drew McIntyre by pinfall.  Santino avoided a splash from Drew in the corner, then hit the Cobra to get the win.

Epico and Primo defeated Air Boom by pinfall in a non-title match.  The finish saw Bourne in control against Primo.  With Primo laying on the mat, Bourne climbed to the corner and went for Air Bourne, but Epico pulled Primo out of the way.  Bourne hit the mat hard, so Primo crawled over and secured a pin.  Rosa danced with her team to celebrate the win in the ring.

Backstage, Striker interviewed Big Show.  Show talked about his excitement over tonight's match, and called Bryan a good wrestler.  Daniel Bryan came into the interview saying he will be a great wrestler one day.  Bryan said he's had to work to get her, because he's not a genetic freak like Show.  Bryan said if he had Show's size and skill, he wouldn't have taken 9 years to win the title.  Show put his hand on Bryan's shoulder saying "don't make me hurt you out there."  Bryan told him to take his hand off his shoulder several times, so Show said "OK" and walked off.

Tamina defeated Natalya by pinfall.  Late in the match they collided as Tamina hit a flying cross body on Natalya.  Moments later, Tamina managed to gain control and did the Samoan slam followed by Samoan Splash off the corner for the win.

They cut to the Raw Rebound which showed all of the events from the main event six man tag elimination match.  It ended with Kane attacking Cena, then trying to pull Zack Ryder down into a hole in the ring.  Cena saved Ryder just before a huge pyro explosion came up through the hole in the ring, closing out Raw.

Daniel Bryan defeated Big Show due to disqualification to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.  Mark Henry was on commentary during the match.  At one point, Bryan had several submission attempts which Show got out of.  Bryan had a pinfall attempt but Show threw him up and towards the ropes.  Bryan fell to the floor, so Henry started talking smack to him.

Later, Bryan put on the Guillotine and then the Lebelle Lock, but Show escaped both.  Show went for a WMD punch but Bryan fled the ring near the commentators table.  Bryan walked over and talked trash to Henry on the outside, so Henry pushed him down hard causing the DQ.  Post-match, Bryan started celebrating by jumping up in front of the fans on the crowd barriers.  Bryan ended Smackdown kissing his championship belt on the ramp yelling "YES!" acting like he got a major win.

Smackdown Results 12/23/11

Smackdown Results from Richmond, VA:

The show opened with Big Show coming to the ring to talk about how he was proud of winning the championship, but even more proud that after Daniel Bryan won it off him, he didn't go "over the edge."  Mark Henry comes out to taunt Show about having the shortest reign in the history of the championship.  He suggests Show should quit the business and go get a job as Santa Claus. He tells Show he's getting his rematch for the title tonight.

Daniel Bryan comes out to talk about the disbelief over a guy like him being champion.  He says he is a good wrestler and hopes one day to be among the great ones.  Mark Henry calls Bryan a pipsqueak and says every time he's put his hands on him, he's beaten the hell out of him.  He says he wants his rematch tonight to get his title back.  Show interjects to ask why he gets the rematch, since he beat him for the title at TLC first.  They start getting in each others faces, so Teddy Long comes out.  He tells them they'll compete against each other tonight with the winner getting the first shot at Bryan's championship.  Henry leaves the ring.  Bryan shakes Big Show's hand.  Bryan then leaves the ring and offers a handshake to Henry.  He goes to shake, but Bryan pulls his hand away and walks up the ramp.

Zack Ryder won via pinfall over Cody Rhodes in a non-title champion vs champion match.  Later in the match, Booker T provided a distraction as he got on the announce table and started singing holiday tunes.  Ryder was able to hit Rough Ryder on Cody for the win.

They had a backstage segment with Santino asking Teddy Long if he can be his assistant now that Ryder's the US Champion.  Long said he'd consider it.  Aksana comes in and makes some sexual innuendos about "positions" and "jobs."  Teddy says he'll get back to them, so Aksana and Santino leave.  Vickie Guerrero comes in with Dolph Ziggler.  Ziggler says he will be demanding his US title match at some point, but he also points out that Bryan is neither smart or charismatic.  Ziggler said he is the better wrestler here and wants to show the WWE Universe tonight.  Long agrees and books Ziggler vs Bryan tonight.

Big Show and Mark Henry's #1 contender match was about to happen when David Otunga came to the ring.  Otunga said on behalf of Laurinaitis as the legal counsel for the Talent Relations VP, he has to look out for the best interests of the superstars.  He said Henry isn't medically cleared for this fight so it won't happen tonight.  Big Show delivers a big KO WMD punch to knockout Otunga.  He and Henry have a staredown as Henry leaves the ring.

Teddy Long was walking backstage when The Miz comes up.  He tells Long he was told to be there tonight and wants to know why.  Long said it wasn't his orders.  Miz starts to berate Long and Smackdown, saying that Laurinaitis and Raw are running circles around him.  He tells him how since Miz won the title in 2010, no Smackdown stars main evented any Pay-Per-Views.  Miz said he's going to go out to the ring to disrupt Smackdown.  He tells Long if he can find one competitor to compete against him, just maybe Smackdown can be awesome.

The Miz is out in the ring and starts bragging about how Smackdown stars lack guts.  He shows off footage of his attacks on R-Truth and John Morrison from weeks ago.  As Miz continues to trash talk, Sheamus' music hits and the Celtic Warrior arrives out for a match.

Sheamus defeated The Miz by pinfall after hitting the Brogue Kick after avoiding Skull Crushing Finale.

Wade Barrett cut a promo in the ring about how he's been dominating Orton lately.  He showed footage of how he defeated him at Survivor Series, giving Team Barrett the win.  He also showed footage of smashing Orton through a table on Raw.  He said all of this should put Wade Barrett in line for a title shot against Daniel Bryan.  Barrett finishes the promo and goes up the ramp, with Orton's music hitting.  The Viper rushes down the ramp to attack Barrett.  The brawl continues into the ring and then backstage, finally hitting the parking lot outside.  Orton finishes things by tossing Barrett onto a car and hitting the RKO.

Kofi Kingston defeated Primo by pinfall after hitting Trouble in Paradise on him.  Late in the match, Epico tried to cause a distraction, but Evan Bourne was on hand to intervene.

The main event started between Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler, but since Jack Swagger and Big Show got involved, Teddy Long turned it into a tag team main event.

In the main event, Big Show was in the ring against Swagger late.  Show went for the chokeslam, but Swagger countered it with a chop block.  Bryan tags in, and goes to the top rope for a dropkick.  Swagger catches Bryan and puts him into the Ankle Lock.  Bryan manages to counter the move and puts the Lebell Lock on Swagger to make him submit.

The show ends with Daniel Bryan celebrating in the ring, while Big Show looks on from the outside.

There was a backstage segment with Aksana trying to flirt with Teddy so he could help her get her own show on the new WWE Network.  Cody Rhodes came in fuming, telling Teddy he needs to set up a match with Booker for him.  Teddy said that's what he was thinking, so at TLC PPV he will defend the IC  title against Booker T.

Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler
Beat the Clock Match #2

Late in the match, Orton hit the DDT from the ropes with Ziggler.  Ziggler rolled out and fell onto the outside floor with about a minute to go.  As Orton was beating him up, Wade Barrett came from out of the crowd and shoved Orton into the steel post.  Ziggler went back in the ring with Orton still being counted out.  Orton managed to barely beat the count to get back in the ring.  He hit the RKO as Ziggler rushed him, then got the pinfall to win with 2 seconds left on the clock.

Post-match, Barrett attacked Orton in the ring, then tried to suggest his own idea for a match by taking Orton to the outside of the ring.  He cleared away the ladder and chair, then tried to put Orton through the table.  Orton escaped and got the upperhand, with Barrett able to escape and get up the ramp.  To close the show, Orton grabbed Ziggler and smashed him through a table.

Winner: Randy Orton won his Beat the Clock Challenge match in 7:51 over Dolph Ziggler by pinfall.  Randy Orton gets to choose the match type for his match against Wade Barrett at TLC PPV.

WWE Smackdown Results from Charlotte, NC:
The opening of the show saw Mick Foley introduced as the special host and he came out dressed as Santa Claus.  Foley introduced each of the announcers, with Michael Cole as a reindeer, Josh Matthews as an elf, and Booker T as Booker Claus.  Cody Rhodes came out to talk trash to Booker with Booker trying to tell him he has no beef with him, but won't hesitate to handle his business.  Cody said he does have a beef with him.  Mick Foley interrupted saying he won't have Rhodes insulting a legend like Booker T, so he booked Cody against Booker in a match.

In a Divas Mistletoe Match, Brie Bella won by pulling Alicia Fox down from near the pole.  Brie retrieved the mistletoe, and her prize is she gets a kiss with any WWE Superstar of her choice between now and Christmas.

Justin Gabriel defeated Jinder Mahal.  During the match, Ted Dibiase came out dressed as Santa with a sack of presents.  It distracted Mahal, who was in control.  Dibiase threw a present towards him, and when Mahal turned back to Gabriel he got hit by a roundhouse kick.  Gabriel finished him with the 450 Splash to win.

Backstage, Mick Foley was having a Christmas party with other superstars including Roddy Piper, The Usos, Trent Barreta, Maxine and Hornswoggle.  David Otunga showed up telling Foley he should just shut the party down so they don't play any copyrighted music.  Foley said since Otunga's on Smackdown, he's property of the show and will wrestle tonight.  His opponet, Randy Orton.

Matt Striker interviews Booker T backstage asking what's going on with Cody.  Booker says he really doesn't know, and as Booker's trying to talk, Rhodes attacks him from behind.

Kofi Kingston defeated Tyson Kidd by pinfall.  During the match, it went to the outside with Kofi trying to gain the advantage.  Michael Cole was a distraction though, allowing Kidd to get a kick on Kingston.  However, Kingston turned the tables and was able to regain control, ultimately hitting a crossbody off the top rope for the pinfall win.

Backstage, Sheamus asked Teddy Long what the "All I Want for Christmas" battle royal is all about.  Long says it's Mick Foley's idea so he's not exactly sure, but it's going to be a good reward.  Aksana came in and asked Teddy about the Christmas custom of mistletoe hanging up.  Long tells Aksana she should just do what comes natural.  Teddy leaned towards her for a kiss, but Aksana eats the misteletoe instead.

Randy Orton defeated David Otunga by pinfall after hitting the RKO.

Teddy Long asked Mark Henry backstage why he wasn't in the Christmas spirit.  Henry complained about Long booking the cage match for the title against Daniel Bryan.  He said tonight he'll give Bryan a message, it'll be the worst whopping of his life.  He said it'll be the nightmare before Christmas for Daniel Bryan.

The battle royal came down to Sheamus, Jinder Mahal, Hunico and Heath Slater.  Hornswoggle also got thrown into the ring by Mahal.  Sheamus eliminated everyone, except Hornswoggle.  He tried to throw Horney out, but Horney holds onto the top rope.  Sheamus tells him to get down.  Hornswoggle pretends he wants a hug and Sheamus moves close to him.  Hornswoggle taps him causing Sheamus to get eliminated.

Backstage, the party is going on.  The Bellas ask Ricardo Rodriguez for more egg nogg.  Rodd Piper and Dusty Rhodes are discussing John Cena.  Santa Claus comes in, and Hornswoggle sits on his lap.  Santa asks what Horney's wish is.  Sheamus walks in and tells Santa that Hornswoggle's wish is that he can talk.  Santa says the wish is granted.  Hornswoggle starts running around and is able to talk now.

Matt Striker interviewed Daniel Bryan backstage about his big match.  Bryan says he knows Henry isn't 100% and tonight he'll make him tap.

In the main event, Daniel Bryan was up to the top of the cage after fighting off Henry.  Henry managed to use headbutts to stop him though.  From the top rope, Henry got Bryan in his arms and hit the World's Strongest Slam.

WWE Superstars Results 10/27/11

WWE Superstars Results 10/27/11:

Jack Korpela opened the show on commentary talking briefly about the chance for one of the greatest tag teams ever to unite in several weeks (Cena + Rock). Matt Striker appeared on camera along with Korpela and they brought up how Cena wants to team with The Rock at Survivor Series. The Rock will give his answer on this Monday's Raw.

Cody Rhodes arrived out from backstage for the opening match. Rhodes had his bag men with him to hand out paper bag masks to fans at ringside.

Ted Dibiase vs. Cody Rhodes

Dibiase got an early backdrop to toss Rhodes to the mat. Dibiase locked on an armbar hold, but Rhodes got to his feet and fought out of it. Moments later, Dibiase countered a move by Rhodes and kicked him down for a near fall. Dibiase managed to avoid Rhodes on a charge and tossed him out through the ropes. As Dibiase went out to collect him, Rhodes punched him, then tried for his Beautiful Disaster kick. Instead, Rhodes was dropkicked by Dibiase. Superstars went to a break.

Rhodes had control when the show returned. He hung Dibiase upside down in the corner and kicked away on him, then followed with a face forward suplex. He used a combo of moves and a hold to try to wear Dibiase down in the ring.

Late in the match, Rhodes had a pinfall sitting on Dibiase. Dibiase kicked him against the ropes and then went over to grab Rhodes. Rhodes headbutted Dibiase near the ropes with his mask, then was able to hit Cross Rhodes for the win.

Winner: Cody Rhodes wins via pinfall over Ted Dibiase.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. Jinder Mahal

Late in the match, Jackson started to dominate and sent Mahal hard to the corner. He followed with a huge clothesline, then picked up Jinder on his shoulders. Once Jackson locked in the Torture Rack, Jinder Mahal quickly started tapping out.

Winner: Ezekiel Jackson wins by submission over Jinder Mahal.

Air Boom vs. JTG & Primo

Bourne used several quick and high flying moves to take down Primo, but Primo managed to avoid one move, then tagged JTG in to kick away on Primo. Primo and JTG started to work the doubleteam and continued tagging in and out to work on Bourne.

Later, Kofi got in and managed to hit a huge crossbody off the corner onto Primo for the near fall. He did the double boom leg drop, then prepared for the Trouble in Paradise. JTG tried to grab Kofi by the leg, so Primo went for a quick rollup. Kofi escaped it and managed to get SOS moments later. JTG rushed in to break up the pinfall.

The close saw Bourne come in to knock JTG out of the ring. Primo tried to toss Bourne out, but Bourne stayed on the apron and connected on a kick on Primo. Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise, then tagged Bourne in for Air Bourne to get the win.

Winner: Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne win via pinfall over JTG & Primo.

Superstars returned to show the Raw Rebound which included Cena vs. Miz and Truth in a 2-on-1 handicap match. This set up Laurinaitis allowing Cena to choose his own partner for a tag match at Survivor Series. Cena chose The Rock, who will give his answer on the next episode of Raw.

Eve & Kelly Kelly vs. The Bella Twins

Eve started things off against one of the Bellas who ran over to her sister. Eve rushed and slid under her legs to knock the Bella off the apron, then she had the quick rollup.

Eve got knocked on her back on the apron after one of the Bellas distracted the ref. They kept attacking with tags in and out, controlling the match against Eve. Eve shoved one of the Bellas into the other and tried to crawl over to tag Kelly but was cut off. They continued the doubleteam on Eve and worked on her hurt left arm.

The close of this one saw Eve finally make a hot tag to Kelly who jumped off the corner onto the Bella to attack. She knocked the other off the apron, then went to work on the legal Bella. Kelly did the stinkface, but as the ref was telling Eve to stay out of the ring, Kelly was yanked throat-first against the top rope. Eve managed to get in and fought off the illegal Bella, allowing Kelly to hit her K2 finisher on the legal Bella.

Winners: Eve & Kelly Kelly win via pinfall over The Bella Twins.

Raw Results 10/17/11

Raw Recap from Mexico City:

Raw opened with a recap video of what happened last week on Raw when Triple H was fired, and John Laurinaitis put in as the interim GM.

The interim GM was in the ring to start off the show to the boos from Mexico City fans. He made a joke about how Rey Mysterio would not be back for tonight's show. He talked about having the new job and how he will do his best for the fans. Laurinaitis talked about how he may make mistakes, including last week's of firing Jim Ross. He noted that he'd received a lot of angry tweets about JR's firing, so he wanted to do what was best for the fans. He asked the fans to welcome good ol' JR back to Raw.

JR came out to his Oklahoma theme song, but before he could take a seat, Laurinaitis asked him to come in the ring for a public apology. Laurinaitis gave a hug to JR in the ring, and said he was very unprofessional to fire him unceremoniously, but he didn't want JR on commentary tonight. John had footage shown of Michael Cole during commercial break last week trying to lead the fans in a "Na Na Na Na Goodbye." Laur said he didn't know what the issue was between Cole and JR but they'll settle it tonight. Laurinaitis booked a match with Jim Ross teaming up with Cena tonight to face Cole and Del Rio.

Randy Orton was introduced for a six man tag match to start off the show.

Raw returned with WWE Slam of the Week, showing how Cody Rhodes got involved in the match with Orton vs. Henry last week. Henry hit two World's Strongest Slams, and then Rhodes did the Cross Rhodes before putting a paper bag over Orton's head and laughing maniacally. Orton will face Cody Rhodes at this Sunday's Vengeance Pay-Per-View.

John Morrison, Sheamus & Randy Orton vs. Christian, Cody Rhodes & Mark Henry

Mark Henry is scheduled to defend his title against Big Show at Vengeance on Sunday.

At one point, Cody Rhodes and Christian went to the outside, eventually fighting into the crowd and out of the match. Late in the match, Morrison tried to fight his way out of being dominated by Mark Henry. He got in several big moves to try to ground Henry. He went for a tag to Sheamus, but Christian yanked Sheamus off the apron. They fought into the crowd. Meanwhile, in the ring Morrison had momentum but Henry stopped him. Henry tossed Morrison in the air with a move and then converted it into the World's Strongest Slam for the win.

Winners: Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes & Christian win via pinfall over John Morrison, Randy Orton & Sheamus.

A video package was shown for Brodus Clay.

Backstage, the Bella Twins reminded John Laurinaitis not to forget about them by kissing him on the cheek. Ricardo Rodriguez came in to intro Del Rio. Del Rio complained about the tag match that Laurinaitis booked him in tonight. Laurinaitis said it'll be ok because the winner of the match gets to pick the stipulation for Sunday's Vengeance WWE title fight. Del Rio still wasn't happy with the decision.

Eve vs. Natalya

In a quick divas match, Eve fought back after an early dominating performance by Natalya. Prior to the match, Lawler noted that Eve will take on Beth Phoenix for the divas championship at Vengeance.

Eve was able to fight off taunting and distraction to hit a moonsault on Natalya for the win. Beth tried to attack Eve post-match, but Eve got out of the ring.

Winner: Eve wins via pinfall over Natalya.

CM Punk vs. The Miz

R-Truth and Miz mocked Punk prior to the match, talking about how Punk couldn't get HHH removed as COO, and how Punk couldn't win the WWE championship back. Triple H arrived out prior to the match with a suit on with Cole saying HHH is still the COO.

During the match, Triple H went after R-Truth on the outside because he kept trying to interfere. He chased R-Truth up the ramp, and John Laurinaitis appeared on stage with a mic. He demanded they stop the match because he has an immigration issue with HHH coming to Mexico. HHH started to walk backstage but punched down Truth who was there mocking him. After commercial break, HHH was shown being escorted/removed from the arena.

The match continued in the ring with CM Punk able to land a flying elbow drop Macho Man style from the top rope on Miz. Punk also knocked Truth away off the apron, before grabbing the quick rollup pinfall on Miz to win it.

Winner: CM Punk wins via pinfall over The Miz.

Raw returned with the Spanish announcers talking in espanol. Cole and Lawler talked about the upcoming WWE Network in 2012. They revealed the fans choice for the first ever show's name on WWE Network. It'll be called "Wrestlemania Rewind." Now a new poll will have fans choosing a name for the network's first reality show featuring WWE Legends living together under one roof. Go over to WWE.com to vote on the show name.

Cole stood up telling Lawler he's got work to do. He said he'll be roasting some pig in Mexico. Just then, Jack Swagger's music hit and out came Swagger along with Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero dressed in Spanish garb. Vickie tried to say "excuse me" in Spanish, then just yelled "EXCUSE ME" instead. She talked about being the Angelina Jolie of Mexico City, and unlike Angelina she's more than just a pretty face. Vickie announced that John Laurinaitis granted Swagger and Ziggler a tag team title match for Sunday at Vengeance. Dolph took over on the mic and insulted the people of Mexico, saying he knows there's plenty of fans out there who want to leave the country for the USA just like he wants to right now. Ziggler said they'll never make it, but tonight they'll get the next best thing -- to see he and Swagger in action. Swagger asked everyone to rise so he could sing America's National Anthem. He was getting booed heavily, and told the crowd he'd have to start over. Zack Ryder came out to interrupt and start the match.

Zack Ryder vs. Jack Swagger

Early on, Swagger picked up Ryder and hit a huge slam, then splashed him in the corner. Swagger pounded on Ryder in the corner, and then the ref backed him off. As Swagger came back at him, Ryder got both knees up into his face. Swagger stumbled backwards and Ryder rushed at him to hit the Rough Ryder. Zack secured a quick pinfall for the win, then escaped the ring before Ziggler could touch him.

Winner: Zack Ryder wins via pinfall over Jack Swagger.

Mason Ryan came to the ring causing Ziggler and Swagger to clear out. Ziggler and Swagger went up the ramp with Vickie. Ryan got on the mic and told Ziggler he's got a match next so "Let's go." Ziggler looked worried as he handed off the US Championship belt to Vickie so he could go wrestle. Raw hit a commercial break as a ref was heading to the ring to officiate.

Mason Ryan vs. Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler went outside the ring several times. At one point, Ryan connected on a huge boot to send Ziggler out. Ryan went to get him but Vickie stood in his way. Swagger jumped on the apron to distract the ref, and Vickie slapped Mason. Ziggler rushed into the ring, but an enraged Ryan turned and went back in. He kept attacking Ziggler, leading to a DQ because Ryan didn't listen to the ref.

After the bell, he pressed Ziggler overhead. Swagger came in to intervene, but Ryan dropped Ziggler and knocked Swagger out of the ring. Ryan went over and picked up Ziggler for a spinning powerslam. After the match, Ryan left the ring and started to storm up the ramp in the direction of Vickie Guerrero who took off backstage.

Winner: Mason Ryan wins via pinfall over Dolph Ziggler.

Backstage, Jim Ross was getting ready in the locker room when John Cena came in to check on him. Ross shook his head saying he's 60 years old and last thing he needs is to be in a match. He said he doesn't want to mess things up for Cena for Vengeance. Cena suggested that Ross treat it like going to a Sooners game, and stand back while Cena takes down Del Rio. Ross said he wouldn't mind getting his hands on Michael Cole. Cena laughed as Ross talked about how Cole is a son of a bitch.

Michael Cole stood up from his announce position and got on the mic. He vowed to teach JR a lesson in the ring saying he may even pin John Cena tonight. Cole left the announce table and said it was time to get ready.

A commercial was shown for WWE's B A Star anti-bullying campaign featuring various WWE stars like Miz and Sheamus, divas like Alicia Fox, and celebs like David Arquette.

Raw returned with a top 10 "Longest Running Weekly Episodic TV Shows" list. At the top was WWE Raw with 960 episodes, followed by WWE Smackdown with 634. Coming in at 3rd was "Gunsmoke" with 633, "Lassie" was 4th and "The Simpsons" was 5th.
Josh Matthews had taken over for Michael Cole on commentary along with Lawler. Lawler and Matthews ran down some of the big matches for Sunday's Vengeance Pay-Per-View.

Jim Ross & John Cena vs. Michael Cole & Alberto Del Rio

Justin Roberts introduced Ricardo Rodriguez, right before Del Rio came driving out in another fancy car. Matthews said it was a 2009 Aston Martin. Del Rio got a mixed reaction from the crowd in Mexico City.

In the main event, towards the end Del Rio tagged away from Cena to Cole. Cole looked horrified at the idea of getting into the ring, so Cena suplexed him into the ring. Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment after Cole shook hands with him. Cena got ready for STF, but instead gave a tag to Jim Ross. Ross got in the ring and locked an Ankle Lock onto Cole to make him tap out.

Post-match, Cena and JR were celebrating their win when Del Rio yanked Cena out of the ring. Cena clotheslined Del Rio down and then used the steel steps to clock him down. Cena kept doing his own count, all the way up to 10 as he got in the ring. He said on the mic "you don't have to be a genius to figure this (the stipulation) out."

Cena said he'll get Vengeance on Sunday because it'll be a "Last Standing Match" for the WWE Championship! Raw ended with Cena's song playing and Del Rio in pain on the outside.

Winners: John Cena and Jim Ross win by submission over Michael Cole and Alberto Del Rio. Cena chooses the stipulation for Sunday's WWE Title match at Vengeance.
