Raw Results 06/23/14

Raw results from Washington, DC:

The opening segment involved Stephanie accusing Vickie of allowing Roman Reigns into the battle royal last week and that he won it to get a spot in the MITB match, against The Authority’s orders. Stephanie dissed Vickie and brought up how she’s ridden Eddie Guerrero’s coattails for years. She then told Vickie that she would keep her around as Smackdown GM but only if she won her match. Vickie asked who her opponent would be and Stephanie said “Me.”

Luke Harper defeated Jimmy Uso via pinfall. Harper dominated for the most part and ultimately won with a clothesline. Post-match, Jey challenged Rowan to a match immediately after.

Jey Uso defeated Erick Rowan via pinfall. Rowan was dominating throughout, but a brawl broke out with Jimmy taking out Harper on the outside. Jey hit a big splash from the top rope to get the win. Post-match, Rowan and Harper beat up The Usos. Bray appeared on the big screen to tell them he was very proud of his “boys” then delivered a promo speech.

Naomi defeated Alicia Fox via pinfall. Paige was on guest commentary and argued with Cameron. Cameron said she’d dance all over the other divas including Naomi to get to the title. For the win, Naomi hit a reverse DDT-style maneuver to get the pin. She pointed out at Paige. Paige stood up and held her belt up before shaking hands with Naomi.

Bo Dallas defeated Titus O’Neil via pinfall. Prior to the match, Bo talked about how Titus fell off his horse last Friday on Smackdown, and then fell off again. He said winning is not everything and tonight he’ll prove to everyone all he has to do is “Bo-Lieve.” In the matchup, Bo was able to take advantage when Titus missed on a corner attack. Bo hit the Bo-Dog for the win. Post match, he told Titus on the mic that he is now “Nine and Bo,” and told Titus to never stop “Bo-lieving.”

Triple H came out to announce the other competitors for the Money in the Bank ladder match which already has Seth Rollins in it. The other five he named were Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Rob Van Dam, Bad News Barrett and Dolph Ziggler. HHH introduced the man who will win the briefcase on Sunday, Set Rollins. That led to RVD and Rollins in a pre-match promo discussing how each would win the match tonight and MITB.

Seth Rollins defeated Rob Van Dam due to disqualification. Dean Ambrose got involved in the match late, leading to a DQ. After getting some shots in on Rollins, Ambrose got on a mic to inform Triple H he better give him a spot in the ladder match Sunday or he’s going to show up and ruin his PPV.

Backstage, Rollins discussed with HHH about what just happened and said he needs to add Ambrose to the MITB match so he can keep his eyes on him at all times. Hunter questioned the idea then Rollins told him “I got this!” HHH thought about it then said Ambrose is in the match. Hunter slapped Rollins on the shoulder to keep him inspired.

Bad News Barrett defeated Dolph Ziggler via pinfall to retain the Intercontinental title. The match lasted over 10 minutes. The finale saw Ziggler ducking a Bullhammer and hitting the Fameasser for a very close pinfall. Moments later, Ziggler had another near fall with a crucifix pin. He tried to follow with a corner attack, but Barrett struck with the Bullhammer Elbow for the win.

Stephanie McMahon defeated Vickie Guerrero in a “You’re Fired” pool match. After Vickie and Stephanie made their entrances, Steph told her the match wasn’t happening in the ring. Instead she pointed to a kiddie pool off stage with some sort of disgusting substance in it. She said the first one to go into the pool loses. Steph then called for her backup as Rosa Mendes, Layla and Alicia Fox came out to assists. They tried to gang up on Vickie but each one got tossed into the pool instead. Stephanie was able to shove Vickie into the pool though.

Steph yelled “Vickie, you’re fired!” and kept gloating about it. She started to sing the “na na na na, good-bye” song to send her off. Stephanie stopped singing as Vickie got up and then tossed her into the pool. Vickie left to head backstage with Eddie Guerrero’s music playing as she left the scene. Meanwhile, an irate Stephanie yelled at the fans after slipping several more times in the pool of muck.

Jack Swagger defeated Kofi Kingston via submission. Swagger put on the Patriot Lock after Kofi couldn’t capitalize on an attack on the outside. Kofi eventually tapped out giving Swagger the win.

Cole said that Paige will defend her Divas title against Naomi at Money in the Bank PPV.

Renee Young tried to interview someone backstage, but Alberto Del Rio interrupted to hype himself up as next WWE World Heavyweight champ. Paul Heyman came in to tell him that he is the one behind the man will become champion, and that is not Del Rio, but Cesaro. Cesaro had a few words with Del Rio, which led to Del Rio looking a bit irked towards him, ready to fight.

Big E defeated Damien Sandow via pinfall. Damien Sandow came out impersonating Abraham Lincoln. Big E won the match in under a minute after hitting The Big Ending for the win. Post-match, Big E was part of a post-match interview until Rusev hit a sneak attack on him.

John Cena, Sheamus & Roman Reigns defeated Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt & Cesaro via pinfall. The closing moments saw Sheamus hit ten forearm strikes on Cesaro followed by a side slam. He set up for the end, but everyone came in to fight with each person showing their finisher. Eventually Cena hit several AA’s on different heels, but Cesaro caught him with the European Uppercut. However, Sheamus was waiting and hit a Brogue Kick for the win.

Post-match, Kany’s pyro went off and Kane came down to ringside where he started to dismantle everyone. HHH came out and said Kane will be the eighth participant in Sunday’s MITB title match. Roman Reigns was waiting and hit Kane with a big spear before Raw went off the air.
