Smackdown results from Columbus, OH:
The show opened with John Cena coming to the ring to talk about how he’d win MITB to reclaim the championship belts. Del Rio came out next to give his vow to win, followed by Sheamus. Paul Heyman came out and said he’s the strategist who will help lead Cesaro to the title. Reigns came out through the crowd and talked about trusting no one, and how no one would stop him at MITB. He stared at Cena, then Orton interrupted with his promise to become new champ. Eventually Reigns rushed out of the ring to fight him on the ramp and near the stage. The others brawled inside the ring until only Cena and Sheamus were left as Reigns and Orton kept fighting to backstage.
Seth Rollins defeated Kofi Kingston via pinfall.
Rollins won with the Curb Stomp after Kofi missed on Trouble in Paradise. Post-match, Rollins talked about being the first entrant in the other MITB match for the briefcase. Ambrose came out to interrupt and told him to be on guard because he's going to get even.
Dolph Ziggler defeated Bad News Barrett via pinfall in a non-title match. Dolph ducked the Bull Hammer late and hit ten punches on Barrett. Barrett tried to power bomb Zibbler but Dolph countered with a sunset flip for the pinfall win. Post-match Ziggler celebrated but Barrett hit him with the Bull Hammer as he got down from the ropes.
Adam Rose defeated Titus O’Neil via pinfall.
Titus had a quick punch, but Rose got a rollup just 20 seconds after for the surprise win. Titus said he wasn’t ready for that one and demanded another match now.
Adam Rose defeated Titus O’Neil via pinfall, a second time. As the bell sounded, Rose slapped O’Neill and then pinned him within 10 or 11 seconds. Rose partied up the ramp following his big wins.
Kane defeated Dean Ambrose via pinfall. Rollins was on guest commentary. Late in the match, Ambrose dropped Kane over the top rope. On the outside, Ambrose jumped on Rollins, which distracted him from Kane. Kane was able to get back and uppercutted Ambrose, then chokeslammed him back in the ring for the win. Post-match, Rollins hit the curb stomp on Ambrose as fans chanted “You sold out” at him.
Big E defeated Jack Swagger via pinfall.
Swagger dumped Big E out of the ring at one point and then attacked him outside. He brought E back in, but Big E was ready with a huge clothesline. He followed with The Big Ending to win.
They had a backstage segment where Fandango told Layla to get ready for the next match. Outside the door, Summer Rae was there and apologized to Fandango for being so possessive. She said Layla loves him, but not like she does. She kissed Fandango just as Layla was getting out of her dressing room. Layla looked upset and went back inside.
Bo Dallas defeated Fandango via pinfall.
Fandango came out to the ring alone, but Summer came walking to ringside once Fandango was in the ring. Fandango told her to get out. Layla rushed down to attack Summer as she got out of the ring. As the two women were brawling, Layla accidentally kicked Fandango in the head. Bo acted like he was helping Fandango up, only to hit the BoDog on him for the win. Post-match he gave a mini speech about their being many fish in the sea and one day he’d find the right one if he can Bolieve!
The Wyatt Family sound effect hit and a promo came from Bray Wyatt. He talked about how at MITB he would climb the ladder and take what’s his. He said the era of Wyatt would soon begin. Run.
John Cena, Roman Reigns and Sheamus defeated Bray Wyatt, Cesaro, Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio in a 4-on-3 handicap tag team match. Late in the match, the heels worked over Cena. However, as Cesaro tagged in, he went over and attacked Sheamus, which allowed Cena to hit a clothesline. Cena quickly made the hot tag to Reigns, who came in fired up. Reigns hit his various moves on the different heels, before avoiding a cross arm breaker from Del Rio. He followed up with a big spear to take down Del Rio for the pinfall. Post-match, the winning team celebrated in the ring as Smackdown went off the air.
