Smackdown Results 08/15/14


Smackdown results from Seattle, WA:

The show opened with MizTV. Miz talked about his IC title match for SummerSlam and vowed to retain the title over Ziggler. Miz said his way of giving back would be to mentor young talent. He introduced Roman Reigns as his guest, who came through the crowd to the ring. Miz talked down to Reigns asking if he was nervous and said if he loses to Orton he’s just another guy in a vest with a pretty smile. Reigns kept trying to get a word in but Miz continued to talk over him, so Reigns eventually layer him out with a punch. Reigns got on the mic to say a guy in a vest with a pretty smile just put Miz on his ass. He said he respects Orton for all the titles he won, but after SummerSlam Orton will have to respect him for beating him.

Dean Ambrose defeated Cesaro via pinfall. Ambrose was able to comeback and after several reversals he hit Dirty Deeds for the win. Rollins came out on stage post-match and talked up the rules of the Lumberjack match. He said he’s just better than Ambrose and Ambrose was never his brother or his friend.

Backstage, Miz was icing his face. Kane came walking up and Miz complained about Reigns saying he needs to be banned from MizTV. As Miz started to walk off, Kane said Miz would be able to face Reigns in the ring later on.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Titus O’Neil via pinfall. Ziggler hit the Zig Zag on Titus in about 3 minutes. Heath Slater was on the outside as Titus’ coach/teammate.

Mark Henry defeated Luke Harper due to disqualification. Big Show was ringside for Henry, while Rowan was there for Harper. Henry had the WSS ready, but Rowan ran in to kick him down, causing a DQ. Smackdown went to break.

Mark Henry & Big Show defeated Harper & Rowan via pinfall. The match was joined in progress with Cole explaining Kane set it up during break. The finish saw Harper try to run in, but Show kicked him down. Show delivered a KO punch on Rowan and then Henry did World’s Strongest Slam for the win.

Eva Marie defeated AJ Lee via count out in a non-title match. During the match, Paige was skipping around the outside of the ring, distracting AJ. AJ left the ring and went to go beat up Paige. The ref eventually counted AJ out, giving Eva the win. On the outside. Paige got a kick on AJ and then the Paige Turner to put her down.

Jack Swagger defeated Bo Dallas via submission. Swagger won in under a minute when Dallas tried to go after Swagger’s taped ribs and Jack put on the Ankle Lock. Post-match, Lana and Rusev came out to the stage. Lana announced whoever wins at SummerSlam gets their country’s flag raised up above the ring and vowed it would be Rusev dedicating his win to Putin.


Roman Reigns defeated The Miz via pinfall in a non-title match. During the match, Miz managed to take advantage of the ref breaking them apart, to kick Reigns in the leg. He kept after the leg and tried for the submission but Reigns managed to break out. Reigns hit a Samoan drop and kicked Miz on the apron. He set up for a Superman Punch with Miz going to the outside. Miz started to back up the ramp, but Ziggler came out. Miz stopped in his tracks. When he turned the other way to the ring, Reigns hit the Superman Punch. As things went back to the ring, Reigns got the spear for the pinfall win.
