Raw results from Lafayette, LA:
The opening segment featured Paul Heyman in the ring delivering a promo about how Brock Lesnar would give John Cena an even bigger beating this Sunday than he did at Summerslam. Eventually Cena showed up to let Heyman know he said if Lesnar wasn’t here tonight he was going to fight Heyman instead. Heyman told Cena Lesnar flies by private jet and it was delayed. He told him he’d be here. Cena said he had 80 minutes until Cena kicks Heyman’s ass instead. Heyman said he’d let Cena know when Lesnar showed up and started to leave the ring, but Cena grabbed him saying he doesn’t trust him. During a commercial break, Cena apparently had Heyman in a headlock and put him into a locker room. He told Great Khali to stand guard and not let him out.
Chris Jericho defeated Kane via pinfall. The match lasted about 13 minutes. Late in the match, Kane tried for his chokeslam, but Jericho avoided it then sent Kane head first into the corner turnbuckle which he had removed earlier. Jericho rolled him up for the pinfall win.
Renee Young interviewed Roman Reigns backstage. He talked about how Seth Rollins said he was responsible for his success and that’s a load of crap. Reigns said everyone has a game plan until they get punched in the mouth, and that’s what he plans to do to Rollins.
Jack Swagger defeated Bo Dallas via submission. Dallas was able to clothesline Swagger out of the ring at one point then had a near fall in the ring. Moments later, he had another two count, but Swagger was able to turn the tables and put on the Patriot Lock for the win.
Paige & Nikki Bella defeated AJ Lee & Brie Bella via pinfall. Brie went for the hot tag to AJ at one point, but Nikki yanked AJ off the apron. Paige was able to hit the RamPaige on Brie to get the pinfall win. Nikki followed it with a post-match backbreaker on Brie. Paige skipped around the ring, but then AJ skipped around the outside of the ring and smiled at Paige.
Bray Wyatt did a backstage promo about how he will have to fix Goliath who still roams the earth in the form of sickness and death. He said tonight he will fix Big Show just for fun.
Big Show defeated Bray Wyatt via disqualification. Harper and Rowan ran into the ring at one point to attack show when he was about to cover Bray. Show hit a double chokeslam on them as Bray Wyatt sat outside the ring in his rocking chair and laughed.
Sheamus & The Usos defeated Cesaro, Goldust and Stardust via pinfall in a six-man tag match. Late in the match, Cesaro hit a Neutralizer on Sheamus and had the pinfall. One of the Usos came in to break it up. Moments later, another Uso hit a top rope Splash onto Cesaro for the pinfall win.
Cena went back to the locker room and grabbed Paul Heyman to bring him out to the ring. He said it was showtime. In the ring, Heyman kept taunting Cena to hi t him but said he knows he won’t because then Cena would be a bully. Heyman challenged Cena “Hit me and become the Heyman guy you can be.” Cena said no, that he couldn’t and that this was his plan to make Heyman produce Lesnar for a fight. Heyman made a remark about Cena’s mother, causing Cena to shove him down to the mat and to ringside. He told him not to talk about his mother, ever.
Brock Lesnar’s music hit and he came out to the stage and down the ramp. He teased getting into the ring, but smirked and backed off. Eventually he jumped onto the apron. As he got in the ring, Cena started to attack, but Lesnar quickly recovered and hit the German Suplex again. Cena rolled to ringside. He rushed back in and blindsided Lesnar, then started unloading punches on him on the outside floor. Eventually, refs and guards rushed over to separate the two men from the brawl.
Naomi defeated Cameron via submission. Late in the match, Cameron was in control, but Naomi fought back and hit several punches then rolled up Cameron from the corner and put on a submission to make her tap out.
Dolph Ziggler & R-Ziggler defeated The Miz & Damien Mizdow via pinfall. Truth was impersonating Ziggler while Sandow was acting as Miz’s stunt double again. Late in the match, Sandow tried to grab Ziggler from behind. He ended up getting punched by Miz by accident. Ziggler hit a Zig Zag on Miz to get the win.
Seth Rollins had a backstage interview where he called Rollins a neanderthal who is part Samoan, gorilla and rhino. He called rhinos among the strongest animals in the world but also not the smartest. He said “Brains over brawn any time” and proclaimed himself future WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Roman Reigns defeated Seth Rollins via pinfall. Reigns was bleeding from the nose, but the match continued. He eventually managed to hit a Spear to take down Rollins for the pinfall win. Post-match, the commentators said the two would meet in a rematch at Night of Champions.
The final segment had Michael Cole in the ring to introduce Mark Henry for his promo before Night of Champions. He talked about how he won’t - no he can’t let everyone down. Cole brought up all the social media buzz around this match, and then listed off Lana’s anti-American tweets. Henry said she can only say those things because she’s in America. He continued to talk, but Rusev’s music hit and he arrived out to interrupt.
Rusev came out waving a Russian flag, with Lana standing behind him on stage. Lana told Henry to shut up. Henry told her to send Rusev to the ring to make him. Lana said Henry talks about education yet he only speaks propaganda. She said they only give facts about Russia. She brought up how in the 1992 Olympic Games Henry lost and Russia prevailed. She asked the crowd to stand and salute the Russian Olympic gold medalist. She kept going on about that and said Obama cowers in fear when he hears Putin’s name.
Lana said history will repeat itself when Henry fails against Russia this weekend at the PPV. Henry eventually interrupted and tried to lead the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance. Rusev hit the ring and interrupted it, trading shots with Henry. Eventually Rusev hit a standing kick to knock Henry down. He tried to put on The Accolade, but Henry powered out and hit a two-handed slam on Rusev to the mat. Henry tossed Rusev over the top rope to the outside. He grabbed an American Flag and waved it towards the camera. JBL said maybe it will finally wave again at Night of Champions this Sunday if Henry can defeat Rusev.
