A recap of Smackdown, Friday April 13, 2006, from Providence, RI :
Theodore Long in ring for the start of Smackdown discussing Batista's request for a rematch with Undertaker. Teddy informed the crowd that there would be a rematch at Backlash in just 2 weeks. Teddy also added that this will be a Last Man Standing Match.
Finlay & Hornswaggle vs. Mr. Kennedy - (2 vs 1 Handicap Match) - A replay was shown of Hornswaggle being slammed off the ladder by Mr. Kennedy at Wrestlemania, and then Finlay attacking Kennedy at last week's Smackdown. Kennedy went to grab his mic as it dropped from the ceiling but Finlay pushed him out of the way. Kennedy went over and took the mic to talk to Finlay, saying they didn't have to do this match now, because tensions were high at Wrestlemania. Kennedy offered an apology to Finlay for what happened. Finlay took the mic and told Mr. Kennedy he's never met anyone who 'wimpers and grovels' like Mr. Kennedy. Finlay told Kennedy he would accept the apology, but warned him to never put his hands on Hornswaggle again. Kennedy swore it would never happen again and extended an apology to the leprechaun under the ring. Kennedy offered his hand to Finlay asking if they were cool. Finlay shook hands, but just then Teddy Long showed up on the ramp. Teddy Long said he doesn't mind if they wont fight each other tonight, but they will still compete, in a tag match versus Batista and the Undertaker.
Backstage, Michelle McCool seen adjusting her pants and then heard screams from a nearby lockerroom. McCool rushed into the locker room to find Ashley laying on the ground in pain, holding her leg, with Jillian standing over her with a fire extinguisher. Jillian remarked that if she couldn't be in Timbaland's new music video, neither would Ashley. Jillian rushed out, and soon after, Kendrick and London came in to check on their ringside manager who was writhing in pain.
Deuce & Domino (w/Cherry) vs. Kendrick & London (Tag Team Title Match) - Kendrick and London, the 11 month tag team champs put their belts on the line vs the talented new team. Kendrick and London arrived to the ring without Ashley, who had been injured backstage earlier. London grappled with Deuce to kick things off. Deuce managed to take control and begin hammering away and slamming his opponent. London managed to kick the hamstring of Deuce, forcing him to tag out. Domino entered but London able to tag out to his partner and then the 2 flipped Domino, giving Kendrick control shortly. Domino with a headlock on Kendrick. Kendrick eventually picked up the pace and able to get his partner London in to continue. Deuce able to tag back in and went back and forth with London, who managed to get him to the ring corner. London up on the ropes punching at Deuce as Kendrick ran over and dropkicked Domino off the apron. With Deuce knocked down, Kendrick then got on all 4's near the ropes allowing his partner to run and jump over the ropes and hit Domino outside the ring. Smackdown hit commercial.
Back from break the tag champs were doubleteaming Deuce in ring. Domino contained Kendrick in the center of the ring with a headlock then able to hit a flying elbow off the ropes on him. Kendrick stuck in his opponents' corner where the challengers continued the beatdown, tagging in and out to continue punishing Kendrick. Kendrick able to eventually roll and duck under an attack and fly over to tag London in. London ran in the ring and began a fast paced assault on Domino. Deuce able to break up 2 pin attempts by London. Kendrick ran in to try to assist his partner but got thrown out of the ring by Deuce. Deuce and Domino prepared for a move on London. The ref orderered Deuce to get out of the ring but after Deuce didn't listen and kicked London, the ref called for the bell. London and Kendrick win via disqualification.
Teddy Long seen backstage telling Kristal that next week Smackdown celebrates their 400th episode from Milan, Italy. Teddy said Milan is romantic and he has a special something planned for Kristal. Just then Deuce & Domino w/Cherry ran into Teddy's office angrily, saying the ref disqualified them for no reason. Teddy told the tag team they broke the rules and in the future he suggests they abide by them. Deuce and Domino exited still jabbering about what happened.

MVP vs Chris Benoit (Wrestlemania Rematch non-title) - MVP started off grappling, able to back Benoit into a corner until the ref broke it up. The two grappled back and forth until Benoit showed his technical style with an armlock and then a takedown. MVP managed to take Benoit down center of ring and isolate him in a unique submission hold. Back on their feet, Benoit tripped MVP down then had a crossface slapped in, but MVP able to grab the ropes then escape the ring. Back in the ring, the two stars battled back and forth, Benoit able to get MVP into ring corners and chop away at his chest. Benoit continued the attack not allowing MVP much room to fight back. Benoit tried to get the crossface on, but MVP stuck a foot onto the bottom rope, breaking the hold. MVP managed to regain control and kick Benoit down for a pin attempt. After battling back and forth, Benoit able to knock MVP out of the ring. MVP got back onto the apron, and Benoit then got behind him try to a suplex. MVP held the ropes tight and Benoit then dropped down and pulled MVP's foot, causing him to hit his face on the apron. MVP able to fling Benoit into the steel post, as he recovered with Smackdown going to commercial.
As Smackdown returned, MVP was hammering away at Benoit then tried a pin but Benoit grabbed the bottom rope. MVP with a headlock hold keeping Benoit down in the ring. MVP able to counter a German suplex by Benoit, then able to toss Benoit off the ropes, causing Benoit to crash down onto the mat. The 2 got back to their feet to continue the match. MVP whipped Benoit hard to the corner, then put an armlock/shoulder hold on Benoit in the center of the ring. MVP tried several pin attempts to no avail. Benoit able to escape a suplex attempt by MVP, then counter and slap a crossface crippler on. MVP luckily got his foot on the bottom rope. Benoit then with a trio of German Suplexes on his opponent. Benoit climbed the ropes for the flying headbutt, Air Benoit. MVP got up and climbed the ropes to battle Benoit. Benoit with a series of headbutts and a chop, knocked MVP back down to the mat. Benoit attempted a flying headbutt, but MVP rolled away causing a Benoit miss. MVP with a boot to the face of Benoit and another pinfall attempt. MVP continued with an assault on Benoit, tried for a punch but Benoit ducked to suplex MVP once. Benoit with a 2nd attempt, but MVP elbowed him in the face. MVP then went to suplex Benoit over the ropes, Benoit able to flip MVP for an attempted pin, but MVP rolled up Benoint instead and used 1 of the ropes for leverage. MVP wins via pinfall.
Backstage Kristal with MVP saying he pulled off a great victory. MVP interrupted saying "I TOLD YOU SO" and that he'll be straightup ballin' when he becomes United States Championship.
JBL and Michael Cole mentioned King Booker attacking Undertaker from behind in the ring last week, then getting viciously assaulted by Undertaker, tombstoned through the announcer's table. Michael Cole said King booker just had surgery for a injured neck, torn meniscus and bad elbow and will be out of wrestling action for some time now.
Highlights from this past week's RAW shown with the beatdown given to Lashley by Vince, Shane McMahon and Umaga helping out. Vince seen announcing the 3 on 1 handicapped match for Lashley at Backlash.
Daivari vs. Kane - Kane came to the ring all business for his match against the cruiserweight contender. Last time the two were seen, Kane had done serious damage to Daivari with his chain and hook. Daivaria tried to chop and kick Kane early and then go off the ropes, but his face met a big boot from kane. Kane then slammed Daivari to thecorner and began a vicious assault on his opponent. A series of kicks, jabs and elbows to Daivari followed by a hard clothesline, leaving Daivari hanging in the corner. Kane then sidewalk slammed Daivari and climbed the corner ropes. Kane with a clothesline off the corner, knocking Daivari down. More punishment by Kane in the corner followed by Kane leaving the ring to do more damage to his opponent laying on the ring apron. Kane got back in the ring and able to chokeslam Daivari down for the 3 count pinfall victory! As the ref began to announce Kane, Regal and Taylor ran down into the ring to attack Kane. The 2 men doubleteamed Kane for a while, but Kane battled back. Kane able to fend off the men and slapped a chokeslam on Taylor. Regal and Taylor managed to escape the ring and back up the ramp, as Kane stared the 2 down from the ring.

Finlay & Mr. Kennedy vs. Batista & Undertaker - Once again, the Undertaker and Batista were forced to work together as a tag team, despite the World Heavyweight title rematch they would have at Backlash. The 2 stared each other down as Undertaker entered the ring with his title won from Wrestlemania 23. Kennedy arrived to the outside of the ring with black "Money in the Bank" briefcase in hand. The match began with Undertaker facing Finlay. Finlay backed away from the looming Undertaker, and made a sneaky tag to Kennedy to come into the ring. Undertaker confined Kennedy to the corner of the ring for several punches. Taker then scared the ref out of the ring briefly. Taker continued to take it to Kennedy, until he whipped Kennedy to the corner of the ring and Kennedy elbowed an attacking Taker. Finlay tagged in as he and his partner doubleteamed Taker in the ring corner. Finlay and Taker traded punches, then Kennedy choked Taker from behind as Finlay distracted the ref. Taker stuck in the opponents corner but battled back and tossed Kennedy into the corner. Taker knocked down both opponents, but they managed to keep him in their corner for more damage. Taker whipped Finlay into the corner then went to slam him down near Taker. Batista made a tag to Taker's back, as Kennedy ran in to clothesline Taker down. Batista then cleaned house, clotheslining Finlay and Kennedy down, followed by bodyslams. As Batista got charged up near his partner, Taker slapped Batista's arm and entered the ring. The 2 stared each other down as Smackdown hit commercial.
Back from break, Taker attempted a pin on Kennedy, then slapped Batista's chest to tag him back in. Batista with a beating on Kennedy followed by a slap to Undertaker's chest to tag him in. Taker then continued to assault Kennedy, yanking on his left arm. Taker went to climb the ropes, but Finlay distracted Taker allowing Kennedy to regain control in the corner. Taker escaped and whipped Kennedy across the ring, then kicked him in the face. Batista tagged back in and suplexed Kennedy. Finlay came to rescue Kennedy from a pin, then tagged in to attack Batista. Finlay tried to jump off the ropes but Batista caught him in a Bear Hug and slammed him back to the corner. After tagging Taker back in, Taker attacked Finlay on the side apron with a leg drop. Back in ring, Taker held onto the arm of Finlay then backed in Batista's corner. As Undertaker climbed the ropes, Batista slapped his back for a tag, and Undertaker stared down his partner in the ring. Finlay took advantage of the distracted Batista and clotheslined him down to tag Kennedy back in.
Finlay and Kennedy continued to tag in and out, to keep Batista down and away from his partner's corner of the ring. As Batista managed to roll out of the ring, Finlay attacked him while the ref was turned away. Finlay, hit Batista with the shalalee in the knee. Taker came around to assist and Finlay ran off. Taker removed the steel steps and threw them in the ring angrily. The ref managed to keep the match in order removing the steps from the ring, as Kennedy then continued to keep Batista down. Batista finally started to battle back, but Kennedy managed to escape a Batista Bomb by hitting Batista in his injured leg. Finlay back in slapped a submission hold onto Batista's wounded leg. With Kennedy back in, Batista managed to slam his opponent down and crawl over to tag in Taker. Taker back in started to beat on Finlay and Kennedy in opposing corners, by running back and forth to clothesline each man. Tkaer tossed Finlay over the rope then chokeslammed Kennedy down. Taker prepared for the Tombstone Piledriver, as Batista tagged his back. Batista came into the ring as Taker was attacked by Finlay. Taker Finlay wound up outside the ring fighting as Batista hit the "Batista Bomb" on Kennedy for the pinfall victory!
Undertaker stared down Batista from the ring as Batista backed up the ramp with a smirk on his face. JBL and Michael Cole questioned who will be last man standing at Backlash?
