Smackdown Recap 4.27.07
A recap of Smackdown 4.27.07 from London, England:
Smackdown started off with Batista throwing Mr. Kennedy around backstage and then hammering away at him. Kennedy raked Batista's eyes and started crawling out towards the ramp. All of a sudden someone else, who appeared to be Finlay attacked Batista from behind. Batista and Finlay came to the ramp where there was a double decker bus parked. Batista threw Finlay face first into the bus several times. Just then Kennedy came onto the ramp and started attacking Batista, making it a 2 on 1 fight vs Batista. All of a sudden the lights went out in the area and Undertaker's bell appeared as Taker appeared in the ring. Finlay and Kennedy backed off from Batista, retreating backstage. The lights went out again and came back, with Taker disappearing.
Finlay and Kennedy were backstage talking to Teddy Long asking him to make Batista vs Undertaker match tonight. Teddy Long said if they wanted to see those two in action they would; Teddy then set up the main event tag match of Kennedy & Finlay vs Undertaker/Batista, in a No Disqualification Match.
Dave Taylor & William Regal vs. Boogeyman & Kane - Kane studied Boogeyman suspiciously as he made his entrance to the ring. Kane started off early punching away at Regal in the corner, then putting him a headlock. Kane whipped Regal to the corner, but Regal able to elbow Kane in the face and tag in Taylor. Kane started clotheslining Taylor then choking him in the corner. Boogeyman squatted on the side apron watching the action and cheering on Kane. Kane made no tags to Boogeyman and continued to battle both Taylor and Regal. Regal in to break up a pinfall attempt by Kane. As Kane recovered and battled Taylor, Taylor slid under the bottom rope. Boogeyman came around the side and waited for Taylor to turn around, then clotheslined him down. As action continued, Kane kept punishing William Regal alone in the ring. Regal able to knock Kane over the ropes. As Kane got to the side apron, Taylor came over and pushed Kane into the side ring post. Taylor then tagged in to take advantage of Kane's injured shoulder. Taylor/Regal kept Kane isolated in the ring and worked on his injured left arm. Kane finally able to tag in Boogeyman after Taylor missed a flying move off the turnbuckle. Boogeyman took the fight to Regal, and knocked him down for a pin attempt. Taylor came in for the save. Eventually all 4 men went into the ring, and Boogeyman was able to land his finisher for the win. Boogeyman offered a victory meal of worms to Kane who refused but had a sick smile on his face at the Boogeyman.
Kendrick vs. Deuce - London came down to the ring with his ribs taped up from last week's injury sustained in their loss of the titles. Kendrick avoided several moves early with his quickness, then locked a headlock onto Deuce. Kendrick tried to keep a headlock on Deuce at several times, but Deuce's strength was too much for him. Kendrick able to use his speed off the ropes and dropkick Deuce down. Kendrick flew off the top turnbuckles at Deuce who moved causing Kendrick to fall to the mat. Deuce went for several unique pins, holding Kendrick down with his knees at one point, but Kendrick lifted his shoulder each time. As Kendrick began the high flying aerial assault, Cherry got up onto the side apron distracting Kendrick and the ref. London got up on the opposite apron, but Domino came around and yanked London down to the outside floor. Kendrick dropkicked London off the apron. As Kendrick turned around, Deuce had recovered and gave a solid kick to Kendrick's face, then scored a pinfall victory.
Kristal tried to interview Deuce, Domino and Cherry backstage but couldn't get a comment out of the tag champs. Domino said "lets make like a banana and split" and told Kristal "call me", before they left.
MVP arrived to the ring and began telling the crowd on the mic to stay quiet because this Sunday at Backlash it will be showtime for him. MVP said this Sunday he will become the new US Champion. MVP introduced his opponent from Edinburgh, named Hamlet Macbeth. Hamlet came to the ring dressed like Braveheart with a painted face, kilt and scarf. MVP dominated the matchup, tossing his opponent around the ring. Hamlet had a brief moment where he went on the attack, but MVP managed to whip his opponent to the corner, then ran at him with a boot to the face. MVP finished with "the Playmaker" finisher to score a pinfall victory. MVP took the mic and was about to announce another competitor, but Chris Benoit's music came on as Benoit appeared on the top of the ramp. Benoit got on the mic and told MVP "how about you take on a real champion?" MVP accepted the challenge and benoit came to the ring as the bell sounded.
MVP vs Chris Benoit - Benoit took the fight to MVP early and agressively. Benoit began to hammer away at MVP in the corner and then knocked him down to the mat. MVP able to recover twice from Benoit's attacks, the second time kicking Benoit out of the ring. Benoit able to get back into the ring but MVP locked a headlock in. Benoit tried to escape and ran off the ropes, but MVP slammed Benoit back down. MVP continued to dominate from there until Benoit was able to duck a movie and German Suplex MVP back. As Benoit got the Crossface Crippler onto a fallen MVP, MVP was able to grab the bottom rope. Benoit sat MVP on the top turnbuckle and climbed up to suplex MVP off. Benoit then locked a sharpshooter in, Bret Hart style, but MVP was close enough to the ropes to break the hold. MVP tried for a suplex but Benoit countered and got another Crossface on MVP. Once again MVP able to grab bottom ropes and break it. Benoit landed a series of German Suplexes on MVP then climbed the ropes for a flying headbutt. MVP rolled out from under the ropes so Benoit couldn't land the move. MVP remained out of the ring for a countout, motioning he would be wearing the belt.
Backstage Teddy Long was kissing Kristal. Kirstal said the past 10 days in Europe have been amazing for her. Kristal told Teddy she loves him and wants a way to spend more time together. Teddy said he was considering having someone else help out with GM responsibilites on Smackdown and giving someone else more responsibilities. The two hugged with Teddy all smiles.
Jillian vs. Michelle McCool - Jillian got on the mic and told the crowd that since Prince William broke up with his girlfriend she was available and had a special song for him. Jillian began receiving a chorus of boos as she started to do her awful singing. Michelle came to the ring interrupting her as the match started. Jillian with an early attack, throwing McCool to the corners. Jillian went for a handspring move onto Michelle, but McCool stuck her knees up into Jillians stomach. Despite the slight momentum shift, Jillian dominated and managed to slam Michelle down for a pinfall victory. Jillian went over and picked up the mic to start singing again. Before she could finish 2 lines, Michelle McCool ran over and attacked Jillian, then threw her into the steel steps.

Mr. Kennedy & Finlay vs. Undertaker & Batista (No DQ Match)- Kennedy came to the ring and told the crowd he hails from Green Bay, Wisconsin, the home of real American smash mouth football. Kennedy held up his briefcase in the corner of the ring and told the crowd his name twice in typical fashion. Batista cleared the ring when he went after Finlay and Kennedy who slid outside fast. Undertaker arrived carrying his championship belt and received a strong crowd ovation.
Taker and Batista stared each other down then charged at their 2 opponents on the apron. Batista tossed Finlay into the ring to start the match, hammering away at him. Early tags made by both men, bringing Kennedy and Taker in. Kennedy with an early advantage, but Taker able to quickly reverse things and get Batista back in. With Finlay back in the match he stared to take it to Batista. Kennedy came into the ring and ran at Batista. Batista able to throw the 2 men into each other causing them to flip over the ropes and out of the ring.
Back in the ring Batista with a suplex on Kennedy and pin attempt, until Finlay came in for the save. Taker back into the match took it to Kennedy and went "Old School" off the ropes, but Finlay distracted Taker. Taker fended off Finlay and was able to then go Old School on opposite sides of the ring on both Finlay and Kennedy. Batista back in to battle Finlay, able to take the fight outside the ring and slam Finlay into the apron. Taker in ring threw Kennedy over the top rope, then put him on the side apron for a series of attacks. Finlay got thrown at the announcers table causing the commentators to stop for a moment and clear the area. Back in the ring, Taker threw Kennedy shoulder first into the corner ring post. Batista then continued the fight on Kennedy whipping him to the ropes. Kennedy able to counter with a dropkick to Batista's injured leg. A bloodied Finlay took his shalalee and smashed it on the injured leg of Batista twice, causing Taker to come over to scare him off. Kennedy tagged in Finlay who started to work on the injured leg more until Batista rolled over to start punching Finlay away. Kennedy back in attacking Batista off the ropes until Batista speared Kennedy. Batista signalled for a Batista Bomb. As he went for the move, Kennedy able to hit the injured leg of Batista to prevent the move. Finlay ran over and knocked Taker off the apron. As Finlay got another shot in with the shalalee the two men were able to knock Batista under the ropes. Taker got back into the ring and began to fight against both Kennedy and Finlay, punching them down, and ducking their move off the ropes to clothesline them both down.
Taker with a chokeslam on both Finlay and Kennedy. Taker signalling for his finisher, but Batista rolled back into the ring just in time to Batista Bomb Finlay. Undertaker stared at Batista as he pinned Finlay for the victory. After the winners were announced, Batista got the mic and told Taker "nobody keeps me down for a 10 count..that title is mine and Im taking it back Sunday". Taker took the mic as Batista was walking up the ramp and said "this Sunday I will take something that belongs to you,....your soul". Taker held his title high up in the ring as Smackdown went off air.
