RAW Recap 5.14.07
The first 10 mins of RAW included the Great Khali taunting John Cena to come fight him backstage. As Cena came to attack Khali, Khali tossed Ccena around into metal pipes, hit him with a trash can and threw him against a steel door. Khali angrily yelled at John Cena as he choked him against the backstage door.
Jeff Hardy vs Trevor Murdoch - Early on Murdoch displayed what appeared to be good sportsmanship vs Hardy, but backing off per ref instructions and not taking early cheapshots. Murdoch able to knock Hardy down in the ring,but later Hardy knocked Murdoch out of the ring, then flew over the top rope onto him. Hardy able to pound away at Murdoch in the corner, from the top turnbuckle. Hardy and Murdoch climbed the top turnbuckle at a pivotal point in the match. Jeff pushed Murdoch off the top ropes then tried for a Swanton, but Murdoch put his knees up. Murdoch couldn't believe he only got a 2 count, and then Jeff Hardy was able to roll him up for a pinfall victory.
Recap shown of Edge shocking the world by taking Mr. Kennedy's Money in the Bank title shot away, then appear on Smackdown to defeat an already beaten up and bloody Undertaker. Edge is the new World Heavyweight Champion and will make his farewell address to RAW tonight.
Highlight shown of Lashley slamming Coach in the ring last week, then tossing him out to send a message to Vince McMahon. Lashley will face Coach on RAW tonight.
Shane McMahon meeting backstage with Coach telling him not to worry, because Umaga and Vince have his back tonight. Coach got their assurance they would be at ringside.
Chris Masters vs. Santino Morella (Intercontinental Title Match) - Early on Santino with a series of hip tosses then an arm lock on Chris Masters. Masters able to gain momentum after a few backbreakers on Santino. Masters went for a "Masterlock" on Morella but Morella able to counter and knock Masters down off the ropes. Masters able to regain advantage after catching Morella off the ropes for a slam to the mat. Masters about to go for a Masterlock, but Morella slipped out from his grasp. Morella able to pin Masters down and gain a pinfall victory, Masters upset by the outcome was able to cheapshot Morella and put the Masterlock on him, then yell angrily as he walked up the apron.
Candice Michelle vs. Victoria- Melina joined JR and King at ringside to comment on the match. Early on Candice landed a few moves on Victoria, then a pin attempt. Victoria gained advantage, knocking Candice to the mat and then putting her into a submission hold. Candice kicked Victoria in the head to get back on her feet. Candice able to get a head scissor takedown on Victoria. Candice able to score a pinfall on Victoria to capture the win, then taunted Melina by indicating she'd be wearing the belt soon.
Edge came down to the ring with his World Heavyweight Championship Belt to make a Farewell address to RAW and the fans. Edge had highlights shown on the Titantron of him winning the Money in the Bank title shot from Mr. Kennedy, and then taking the Undertaker's title on Smackdown. Edge informed the crowd he will have to defend the title against Batista at Judgement Day. Edge said instead of giving the crowd one last great Edge match, he's just going to leave as the World Heavyweight Champion. As Edge was about to leave, Shawn Michaels came out onto the ramp and told Edge to just leave. Edge became infuriated by HBK's comments and then challenged him to a match on tonight's RAW.
Todd Grisham was backstage about to interview Lashley. Just when Lashley was about to speak, Shane McMahon interrupted and reminded Lashley he is unable to touch Vince, Shane or Umaga unless physically provoked. Shane taunted Lashley by pointing a finger in Lashley's face. Shane left after blowing a fake kiss to Lashley.
Johnathan Coachman vs. Bobby Lashley - Vince, Umaga and Shane entered first, with Vince strutting down to the ring. After Coach and Lashley arrived, Lashley stared down Vince,Shane and Umaga. Coach tried to slap Lashley in the face a few times, but Lashley retaliated and then began to make an example of Coach. After choking Coach against the ropes in front of Vince, Lashley clotheslined Coach down, then speared him to gain the pinfall victory. After the match, Umaga and Shane got into the ring and went after Lashley. After a brief beatdown, Lashley punched back at Umaga and Shane. Umaga able to stun Lashley with a chop to the throat. Umaga put Lashley in the corner and went running at him for a hip splash move, but Lashley moved away. Lashley went after Vince who was still outside the ring. As Vince took off up the ramp, Shane McMahon ambushed Lashley and clotheslined him down outside the ring. Lashley recovered then chased Shane into the crowd and backstage. Shane able to get out of the arena, and jumped onto a waiting limo. Lashley watched as the limo took off. Mr. McMahon then came out of nowhere to hit Lashley with the ECW belt, knocking Lashley out cold on the ground.
Val Venis vs. Carlito - Carlito focused on Val's back doing several moves off the ropes to hammer into the back of Val Venis. Venis tried to fight back,but Carlito able to regain the momentum, performing a submission hold on Venis to wear down his lower back. Venis gained brief bursts of momentum, including a neckbreaker on Carlito. Venis tossed Carlito to the corner then ran at him, Carlito able to jump over Venis, then tried to clothesline him from behind. Venis able to knock Carlito down after ducking. Venis went for the Money Shot but Carlito got up causing Val to get back down off the turnbuckle. Venis ran at Carlito in the corner, but Carlito pulled Venis by the trunks, causing Venis to hit face first into the lower turnbuckle. Carlito then scored a backbreaker and pinfall victory over Venis. As Carlito was announced as the winner, Ric Flair's music came on. Flair ran down the ramp and into the ring, causing Carlito to roll out of the ring and escape into the crowd.
HBK backstage stretching prior to his match with Edge. Randy Orton and told HBK he thinks he can beat him. HBK said he's busy tonight, but isn't busy this Sunday for Judgement Day. Orton challenged HBK to a 1 on 1 fight at Judgement Day on Sunday and HBK accepted as he left for his match.
Promo shown for the "Throw it On Me" video by rapper/producer Timbaland, which features several WWE Divas including Ashley and Torrie Wilson. The new music video will be show in its entirety next week on RAW.
Shawn Michaels vs. Edge Edge arrived to the ring wearing his new Championship belt for his final match on RAW. HBK able to take down Edge then stomp a foot on Edge's head. HBK threw Edge face first from ring corner to corner. Edge able to gain an advantage and takedown HBK, then ran at him. HBK grabbed Edge and tossed him over the top rope. HBK jumped onto the apron, then jumped onto Edge outside the ring to punch him some more. HBK got back in the ring with Edge laying outside it, as RAW hit commercial break.
Back from break Edge had gained the advantage in the ring. Edge began focusing on Shawn Michaels' head,since HBK had a concussion via Great Khali last week. Edge tried to keep HBK down on the mat with a neck/head hold, but HBK got them back to their feet. Despite a brief comeback, HBK got kicked down face first by Edge. Edge with a neckbreaker on HBK in the center of the ring. Michaels then escaped a near pinfall by Edge. Edge tried to climb the turnbuckle ropes with HBK down, but HBK able to cause Edge to land on the ropes on his groin. HBK climbed the ropes to battle Edge, but Edge tossed him down. Edge dove off the ropes at HBK, but HBK moved. After a battle in the ring and exchanged chops to the chest, HBK able to knock Edge down. HBK climbed the ropes and did a flying elbow drop off the ropes onto Edge. HBK then set up for Sweet Chin Music, and was able to deliver a solid kick to Edge as he stood up. Michaels then scored the pinfall victory.
As the victorious Shawn Michaels got to his feet, Randy Orton ran down into the ring and attacked HBK. Orton knocked HBK to the mat and started to pound away at HBK. Orton with a kick to HBK's groin and a shot to HBK's head, sending HBK down. Randy Orton stood in the ring and looked at a fallen HBK menacingly as RAW left the air.
