Hogan's Son Injured in Crash

News from CNN.com within the past hour:

"A high-speed car accident in Florida has left the teenage son of wrestling star Hulk Hogan seriously injured and a companion in critical condition late Sunday, police said.

Nick Bollea, 17, was the driver of a Toyota Supra that went out of control while driving at a "high rate of speed" about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, said Wayne Shelor, spokesman for the Clearwater, Florida, police.

Hulk Hogan's real name is Terrence Bollea.

Bollea's injuries are not life-threatening. Passenger John J. Graziano, 22, of Dunedin, Florida, is in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, police said Monday.

No charges have been filed, according to Clearwater police.

Firefighters had to extract Bollea and his passenger from the wreckage. Both were taken by helicopter to the St. Petersburg hospital, Shelor said.

"They're both down there. Nick's father is down there," he said. Video Watch Hulk Hogan on the scene with the mangled car »

Hulk Hogan, one of the top professional wrestlers of the 1980s and 1990s, is featured in the VH1 reality show "Hogan Knows Best." His son, wife Linda and daughter Brooke regularly appear on the show. Nick Bollea is known to viewers as "Nick Hogan."

The car "inexplicably left the roadway," jumped across a raised median and slammed into a palm tree just east of downtown, Shelor said.

"It destroyed the car," he said.

Shelor said the wreck forced police to shut down the mile-long Court Street, the main east-west road through central Clearwater, as they investigated the accident.

"It was a spectacular wreck," Shelor said"

More to come as this story develops.

That kid was always driving wreckless....ON the show Hogan Knows Best, Hulk Hogan was always trying to teach that kid that speed kills....Some kids think they know it all...I hope he gets better and learns from this terrible mistake.

I remember seeing those episodes where he hit the wall a few times. Makes you wonder..You're right, there's the "invincibility belief" present, and I'm sure having Hogan as a father adds to it just a bit. I hope he gets better as well.

I wish them both a full recovery. I hope he doesn't have to lose a friend to learn his lesson...
