Summerslam 2007 Results

Summer's biggest event and one of WWE's biggest Pay Per Views is officially in the books. Here's the full results of Sunday night's matches:

Kane vs. Finlay

Despite interference from Hornswaggle and Finlay trying every trick in the book to cheat, Kane was able to emerge as the winner in this feud.

Winner: Kane wins via pinfall over Finlay.

Mr. Kennedy vs. Carlito vs. Umaga (IC Title)

Despite a valiant fight from both Carlito and Mr. Kennedy, Umaga was victorious after using the "Samoan Spike" on Kennedy.

Winner: Umaga wins via pinfall to retain the IC title.

Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero

Mysterio goes for 619 but is unable to complete it again. Chavo goes for the control but Mysterio finally dials up 619. Mysterio goes off of the top rope into what was almost a flying headbutt. Mysterio covers Chavo for the three count!

Winner: Rey Mysterio wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

Divas Battle Royal

It came down to just Beth Phoenix and Michelle McCoolt. Beth Phoenix picks up McCool and eliminates her to win the diva battle royal.

Winner: Beth Phoenix is now the number one contender for the WWE Women's Championship!

MVP vs Matt Hardy (Beer Drinking)

MVP decided to throw down yet another challenge and entered into a beer drinking contest with Matt Hardy! Hardy tells MVP he is a normal common man and isn't going to try to out-drink him, but has a substitute who will... None other then the beer drinker himself, Stone Cold Steve Austin! In the ring, Stone Cold chugs several beers while doing pushups and then a Stone Cold Stunner on MVP!

Winner: Austin wins the beer drinking contest over MVP.

CM Punk vs John Morrison (ECW Title)

Punk sets Morrison up on the top rope, he can't connect and Morrison counters. Morrison gets his feet on the ropes for leverage and lands the three count.

Winner: John Morrison wins over CM Punk by pinfall and retains the ECW Championship.

Triple H vs. King Booker

Despite Booker saying he would make Triple H bow down at the end of the night, it was a royal return for the King of Kings. Triple H manages to score on a second attempted Pedigree. After taking down Booker with the finisher, HHH claims the pinfall victory and then celebrates triumphantly!

Winner: Triple H wins via pinfall over King Booker.

Batista vs. Great Khali (World Heavyweight TItle)

Despite a hard fought match by Batista in which Khali seemed to dominate, Khali used foul play at the end and was disqualified. Khali's manager Singh threw a chair into the ring which Khali smashed Batista with. After the finish, Batista speared down Khali in the ring, enraged.

Winner: Batista wins due to disqualification of The Greath Khali.

Randy Orton vs. John Cena (WWE Title)

The main event between the Legend Killer and WWE champion John Cena. A tough match between The Legend Killer and John Cena. John Cena completes the FU for the pinfall victory. The Champ is Still Here!

Winner: John Cena wins via pinfall over Randy Orton and retains the WWE title.

In terms of my predictions I went 6-2 for Summerslam (I'm counting the Batista match due to the DQ mayhem). WWE Geek Blog was 4-4. I hope we can square off again for the next Pay Per View, "Unforgiven" in September! A quick comment, once again it seems WWE was a bit stingy on title changes. Not sure why, but I think on the bright side we just might get to see a HHH vs Cena title match?
