News on Lawler, Booker, Mark Henry

Here's some of the latest rumblings and grumblings from within the pro-wrestling and WWE world. News involving Mark Henry retiring, King Booker almost retiring and Jerry Lawler might be pushed to retire..

The following news was reported at the Herald-Citizen.com:

"You may have noticed that Tazz was announcing on Raw Monday replacing the "injured" Jerry Lawler. Titan officials were wanting to see how Jim Ross and Tazz worked together, as they are thinking about switching Tazz to Raw and moving Lawler to commentate on ECW. I wonder how the "King" will take to that news, since several years ago Lawler had a running battle with the old ECW brand and even called it Extremely Crappy Wrestling during Raw programming.

Reports say that King Booker was ready to quit the WWE last week when his new wrestling company was passed over by Titan to be a new development league for the WWE. Booker had spent a lot of money on a building, lighting and cameras for his company in Texas. Titan is apparently going with a Tampa, Fla. based school being run by former Fabulous One tag teamer Steve Keirn.

It appears the Chris Benoit fallout is causing one WWE star to quit wrestling all together. Mark Henry is not going to renew his contract when it expires next month and has said that he wants to get involved in projects other than wrestling. Reports say that Henry has not been the same inside or outside the ring since the Benoit tragedy unfolded, and he just wants to get away from wrestling. "

That will make the Mark Henry vs. Undertaker match at Unforgiven easy to predict, and as one fan suggested, a Buried Alive match might be the perfect type for the event. It also makes you realize King Booker could have royally screwed WWE if he had quit out of nowhere, ruining one of the main attraction matches for Summerslam.
