Chavo Guerrero Released by WWE

After a lengthy career with WWE, Superstar Chavo Guerrero has been officially released by World Wrestling Entertainment. The company posted the following standard announcement on WWE.com earlier today:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of WWE SmackDown Superstar Chavo Guerrero as of today, June 25, 2011. We wish Guerrero the best in all future endeavors.

Chavo most recently was a pro mentor on the NXT Season 5 Redemption show online on Tuesday nights. He was also part of a recent mini-feud with new superstar Sin Cara, which included the two in a recent Pay-Per-View match. Chavo also is Vickie Guerrero's nephew and played a part in multiple storylines. Chavo had feuds with the likes of CM Punk, Edge and more recently Hornswoggle.

To his wrestling credits, Chavo has held the ECW Championship once, the WWE Tag Team Championship twice (with the late Eddie Guerrero) and the now defunct WWE Cruiserweight Championship twice. He was also a WCW Cruiserweight and World Tag Team Champ as well.

Chavo Guerrero will certainly be missed by WWE fans. He was great with his in-ring performances and antics so it'll be interesting to see what reason is given for his release. Also it'll be interesting to see the direction NXT takes with Darren Young not having a pro mentor. Young is one of the final 3 rookies remaining along with Conor O'Brian and Titus O'Neil.

WWE Characters the Blog also wishes Chavo the best of luck in his future as he was one of the best entertainers in pro wrestling for some time!

Grisham and Regal discussed the Raw Power to the People fan voting episode last night. A Raw Rebound video was shown focusing on CM Punk getting a title match against John Cena at the MITB 2011 PPV. Punk also promised to leave the next day when his contract is up with the WWE Championship in hand.

Zack Ryder defeated Titus O'Neil by pinfall. In the main event match, Hornswoggle and Ryder got into it, with Ryder taunting Hornswoggle and scaring him. Titus checked on his pro, but the distraction allowed Ryder to boot kick him in the head. Ryder hit the Rough Ryder to win it.

Post-match, Hornswoggle tried to comfort his rookie for the loss. Ryder kept taunting after leaving the ring. Titus was frustrated with Hornswoggle and William Regal suggested that Horney maybe distracted his rookie causing the loss.

Smackdown Results 05/20/11

Due to the unfortunate passing of WWF/WWE/WCW legend, the Macho Man Randy Savage, today's WWE Smackdown results will be in shorter form than usual. WWE Characters the Blog will resume this weekend with coverage of the Over the Limit 2011 Pay-Per-View event.

- Early in the show, Christian won against Sheamus due to a DQ. Mark Henry interfered in the match. Orton took some time in coming out to make a save.

Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase both came out to the crowd. Dibiase said he represented Corpus Christi with a bag over his head. Dibiase then went on to defeat Trent Baretta.

Ezekiel Jackson came out and then The Corre followed. Smackdown GM Teddy Long interrupted and made a six-man tag match right then.

- Kane, Big Show, and Ezekiel Jackson defeated The Corre in a six-man tag team match.

- Brie Bella defeated Natalya by pinfall. Bella won with the X Factor. Surprisingly, Karma didn't show up post-match.

- Daniel Bryan defeated Chavo Guerrero in about five minutes. After the match, Sin Cara came out and hit a huracanrana on Chavo.

- In the main event, Randy Orton defeated Mark Henry due to DQ. Sheamus interfered to cause the disqualification. Just like Orton did earlier, Christian took his time before coming out and making the save.

That concludes the WWE Smackdown Results for 05/20/11 ahead of the 2011 Over the Limit Pay-Per-View.

WWE NXT Results 05/17/11

WWE NXT Results from Corpus Christi, TX:

Tonight's episode of NXT Redemption was the first elimination of the 5th season. All of the former contestants, Darren Young, Jacob Novak, Lucky Cannon, Titus O'Neil, Byron Saxton and Conor O'Brian were all on the chopping block tonight. Regal and Grisham talked about how tonight the rookies have been doing all they need to do to stay in the competition.
Darren Young came out first to the ring for the show. Young talked about how he defeated Titus O'Neil last week, something none of the other rookies have been able to do. Young talked about how Titus makes him sick with that bark he does. Young showed a key hanging around his neck, saying he's got the key to Titus' weakness. He said he'll never find Hornswoggle again, never beat him and never win NXT.

That brought Titus O'Neil out to the ring to confront Young.

Titus O'Neil vs. Darren Young

Regal asked where Chavo Guerrero is tonight and Grisham had no idea. Early in the match, Titus started off good, but Young made a comeback out of the corner to take him down.

Titus made his own comeback with a near fall attempt. He followed with forearm uppercuts and kicks to Young on the mat. He yelled for him to get up and prepared for a finisher. All of a sudden, Chavo came on the big screen backstage with a box wrapped up and locked in chains. Chavo asked if Hornswoggle was ok and said he'd go get a crowbar or something to help him out.

Chavo left, and Titus dropped Young in the ring. He went over and grabbed the necklace with key from the corner of the ring and left the match. Titus was counted out as he unlocked the box backstage to pull out Hornswoggle, tied up. Suddenly, Chavo attacked Titus from behind and threw him around backstage. With Titus down, Chavo grabbed Horney and said he hasn't forgotten everything he's done to him.

Chavo brought Hornswoggle to the ring for Darren Young. Young roughed him up a bit then held him down on the mat. Chavo, in business attire, got up on the corner and did his Frog Splash as Young held Horney down. Suddenly, Titus O'Neil rushed to the ring to chase them off.

Winner: Darren Young wins due to countout of Titus O'Neil.

Grisham and Regal reviewed the replay of what happened to Titus and Hornswoggle backstage, and then the in-ring attack by Young and Chavo on Horney. Regal said nobody needs to see this happen to the little fellow. During commercial, Titus carried Hornswoggle backstage. Grisham said Hornswoggle's been rushed to a medical facility and that Titus O'Neil is with him.

Regal brought up Sunday's Over the Limit Pay-Per-View and that either John Cena or The Miz will have to say "I Quit." They rolled a video package starting back at Extreme Rules where Cena won the WWE Championship in the Triple Threat steel cage. Also shown were the Raw Triple Threat match which Miz won against Mysterio and Del Rio to become #1 contender for the WWE title at OTL.

Grisham and Regal reviewed the lineup of matches for Sunday's Over The Limit Pay-Per-View including Christian vs Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship and Cole vs Lawler in a "Kiss My Foot" match.

They showed Yoshi Tatsu walking backstage looking ready for action. Grisham said Yoshi will show his rookie Byron Saxton some tough love next.

Yoshi Tatsu vs. Byron Saxton

Grisham and Regal talked about how Yoshi's been too enamored with Maryse to teach his rookie. Yoshi got the upperhand early on with an arm hold which he kept on Saxton. Byron ducked Yoshi's running kick then took him down. He managed a near fall, then locked a headlock on him. Yoshi fought back to his feet then chopped at his rookie a bit, before taking him down with kicks. With Saxton dazed late in the match, Yoshi did a spinning kick connecting with Saxton's skull to get the pinfall win.

Winner: Yoshi Tatsu wins via pinfall over Byron Saxton.

When NXT returned, Striker was in the ring to introduce his NXT co-host, Maryse. Maryse arrived to the ring in a blue skirt. Maryse said before they get to elimination they have some unfinished business to take care of. She introduced Vladimir Kozlov and his rookie Conor O'Brian.

Matt Striker said Vladimir and JTG have had a gentlemen's wager over who could make their rookie more like them. Striker asked Vlad how he thinks Conor is doing. Vlad said some indistiguishable remarks with the crowd saying "What?!" Striker then introduced JTG and Jacob Novak who came down to the ring.

Striker said the live crowd will judge JTG and Conor in a talent contest. JTG introduced his rookie who then tried to do a rap to dis William Regal and Conor O'Brian. Some of it rhymed. JTG chimed in yelling remarks after the lines to back him up.

Time for Kozlov and O'Brian's routine. They did some robotic dance moves to Kozlov's theme music, followed by some sambo stylings and breaking wooden boards. Kozlov punched through his piece of wood and then O'Brian headbutted his to break it. A fight ensued because the crowd easily chose Kozlov and O'Brian as the winners. As NXT went to break, Kozlov had kicked JTG out of the ring. Enraged, JTG yelled if Kozlov wants a fight he'll get one.

Vladimir Kozlov vs. JTG

The show returned with this match in progress. Kozlov took control down on the mat with a headlock. At one point, JTG was knocked out of the ring and went over to the commentators table to talk trash to Regal. Regal told him "don't worry about me" and Kozlov grabbed JTG to throw in the ring. As Kozlov tried to get in, Novak came over to distract him, allowing JTG to dropkick Kozlov off the apron and take control.

JTG hit the Mugshot at one point in the match but failed to win with the pinfall attempt. Kozlov bounced back and headbutted JTG multiple times in the chest, then set up for a running powerslam. JTG slid off and hit a neckbreaker though. JTG with another near fall. Conor tried to rally the crowd for Kozlov outside the ring.

JTG got control again and tried for a flashy move off the corner. Kozlov shoved him down though, then did his one arm slam move for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Vladimir Kozlov wins via pinfall over JTG.

Backstage, Yoshi went into Maryse's dressing room where she was putting on makeup. Yoshi asked if she saw his match and she said she missed it. She asked if he saw the new purse Lucky bought her and talked about how great it is. Yoshi said he thinks she likes things more than people. He said it's time they broke up, then walked out. Maryse yelled that they can't break up because they never were in a relationship. Just then, Lucky walked in and told her she needs a shopping spree tonight. He said he'll take her on one after the elimination tonight.

They showed the behind the scenes for "That's What I Am" with Randy Orton talking about how great it is to be in his first film and with Ed Harris. They also talked about the big kiss scene between the two young co-stars Chase Ellison and Mia Rose Frampton.

All of the rookies were lined up (except Titus) at the bottom of the ramp in front of the ring. Maryse was on the mic saying that sadly one of them will go home tonight. Striker said it was time to see who the first elimination of the season is. The big screen rolled through the rookie choices, then finally stopped on Jacob Novak's picture.

Novak was furious and tore off his shades, bandana and chain. Novak said it's twice now the people have shut him out. He said bottom line is he will be in the WWE and Redemption will be his. He told everyone to watch their back, because the day they don't flinch is the day he knocks them out.

Regal said he wasn't surprised about this at all, but said he was happy he won't have to see his face anymore. Novak went up the ramp where JTG was all animated. JTG yelled at the crowd for hating on his rookie. As NXT ended they showed the replay of Novak learning he was tonight's elimination and throwing his hands up in frustration.

WWE NXT Results 04/26/11

NXT Results from Greensboro, NC:

Todd Grisham was on hand for commentary, opening by saying 30 different superstars were drafted to new rosters. Grisham noted his broadcast colleague, William Regal, was drafted today from Raw to Smackdown. Grisham sent it to the ring with hosts Matt Striker and Maryse.

Maryse introduced the six rookies and their pros. Byron Saxton, Conor O'Brien, Darren Young, Jacob Novak, Lucky Cannon and Titus O'Neil all headed to the ring while the pros stayed up on stage to watch. Titus has 13 redemption points to lead, while Darren Young has 7.

Tonight's first competition for the rookies was worth 4 points called "How Well Do You Know Your Pro?" First question, pros had to write on a dry erase board what their rookie does better than the rest. Saxton and Conor got theirs wrong. Darren Young got on the mic saying he doesn't care what Chavo said, and he thinks he's a better wrestler than him. They gave Novak the first correct answer even though they were different. Lucky Cannon and Titus were both wrong.

In the end of this contest, Jacob Novak won because he had the only correct answer of the 2 rounds. Novak wins 4 redemption points.

Regal and Grisham talked over how Novak has been on his case, and crossed the line in England last week.

Titus O'Neil vs. Darren Young

Young went over at Hornswoggle on the apron early on, but then Horney goosed him. Titus took control after that with several power moves including a bodyslam for the near fall.

Young got a figure four leglock on Titus, and asked Chavo for some outside help. Young eventually released the hold and then started to look out at Chavo. Chavo told him you don't release the hold. When Young turned back around, Titus grabbed him for the sit-out powerbomb slam to win it.

Winner: Titus O'Neil wins via pinfall over Darren Young.

WWE.com is currently presenting a digital edition of WWE Magazine on their website.

Jacob Novak & JTG were introduced to the crowd and got in the ring. They showed the incident between Novak and Regal last week, with Novak shoving Regal at ringside. Regal said the signal meant if he messes with me he'll be scarred for life. JTG did his "aka" introduction for Novak to a flat crowd reaction. Novak got on the mic and reminded Regal he embarrassed him in front of his entire country. He said Regal's career is over while Novak's is just getting started.

Regal stood up and got a mic to respond. Regal told him he's not going to let a pathetic muppet like him talk trash without doing something about it. Regal said he'll take his jacket, climb in the ring and have a match right now. Regal prepared to get in the ring, but Novak got back on the mic. He asked several times if Regal wants to fight, then said it's not gonna happen, because he's got a real match scheduled. Novak said when they fight it will be on his terms, next week.

Vladimir Kozlov & Conor O'Brian vs. Jacob Novak & JTG

Kozlov took control early on against Novak, then tagged in Conor for some double teaming takedown. Regal called JTG a waste of space in the WWE.

After a break in the action, Novak and JTG were able to team up on O'Brian. The ref warned them about a possible DQ for not backing off on him. They kept working the in and out tags and doubleteam to wear Conor down. Novak kept O'Brian down in an armlock with the crowd trying to rally Conor to break it.

O'Brian finally made the hot tag to Kozlov who did his chest headbutt multiple times, before a huge slam for the near fall. JTG came in to break it up, but Kozlov tossed him out through the ropes. Conor O'Brian tagged in. Novak managed to knock Kozlov out of the match, then ducked O'Brian's attempt to boot him down for the win.

Post-match, JTG and Novak taunted Regal through the ropes.

Winners: Jacob Novak & JTG win via pinfall over Vladimir Kozlov & Conor O'Brian.

The Awesome "Kharma" Kong promo from last night's Raw was shown again during a commercial break during the above tag match.

The Raw Rebound covered 2011 WWE Draft starting with John Cena drafted at #1 to Smackdown after Team Smackdown won a 20-Man Battle Royal. Other picks included Rey Mysterio and Big Show to Raw. Randy Orton and Sin Cara to SmackDown. Alberto Del Rio to Raw, Mark Henry to Smackdown. In the final match of the night, a six man tag match, Team Raw defeated Cena's Team Smackdown. The final pick of the night sent John Cena back to Raw.

Grisham said the draft continued today on WWE.com, but none of the draft moves will affect this Sunday's Extreme Rules PPV. He and Regal ran down the list of matches for the card.

Backstage, Maryse was walking fast down the hallway saying she needed to talk to Yoshi. She told him that the purse he bought her is gone and someone stole it. She started talking in French, then suggested maybe it was "him." Yoshi asked if it was Lucky? Maryse started to walk off. Yoshi went down the hall and found Byron Saxton, asking if he saw Lucky. Saxton said he'll be facing him in the ring next if Yoshi really wants to find him. He complained that he wished Yoshi would spend half as much time as he does with Maryse, acting as his NXT pro. Byron left for the match, leaving Yoshi standing alone in the hall.

Byron Saxton vs. Lucky Cannon

Maryse was seated at ringside to watch the match. Lucky walked over to Maryse saying he had nothing to do with it. Maryse wasn't hearing it though. Yoshi angrily said something from near the ropes to him.

Cannon gained control during the match, as he kneed Saxton against the middle ropes to choke him. He followed by whipping him hard to the corner. Saxton fell to the mat, where Lucky hit two huge leg drops and then settled into a headlock.

Todd Grisham mentioned that Tyson Kidd and Yoshi Tatsu were both involved in today's WWE draft moves.

Saxton started a comeback, and eventually hit a huge clothesline from off the corner area. He had a rollup near fall with Lucky kicking out. Byron had an impressive slam move to the mat for a near fall, with Kidd rushing over to put Lucky's leg on the ropes. Yoshi came over and tossed Kidd against the crowd barrier. Lucky dropkicked Yoshi through the ropes. Lucky went over and told Maryse he had nothing to do with it.

Yoshi got back up and went over to chase Lucky. Lucky slid under the ropes into the ring, with Yoshi going after him. Yoshi started to beat him up so the ref called for the bell.

Post-match, Saxton was livid over Yoshi interfering, so he hit a finishing move to flatten him on the mat. Lucky walked up behind Saxton, grabbed him and hit a unique slam move with Saxton on his shoulders. He looked over at Maryse to see if she was impressed. Maryse kept smirking as NXT went off the air.

Winner: Lucky Cannon wins due to DQ of Byron Saxton when Yoshi Tatsu interfered.

WWE Superstars Recap 11/18/10:

Superstars kicked off with the Smackdown commentators Todd Grisham and Matt Striker, with Survivor Series 2010 just days away.

JTG vs. Chavo Guerrero

JTG put them on the ref, then kicked Chavo to start things off. Early in the match, JTG dropkicked Chavo out of the ring to get the brief advantage. Chavo was back in the ring though and soon gained control of the match.

In the late stages of the match, Chavo elbowed JTG from the corner as JTG charged at him. Chavo climbed the corner for a move, but JTG was back up and jumped up to fight Chavo. Trent fell hard to the outside as the ref started the countout. During the match, Grisham pointed out Hawkins was trained by Shawn Michaels, but Striker corrected him saying he watched footage of Michaels growing up, but didn't train under him.

Later still, Barreta gained the momentum and was able to connect a knee to Hawkins in the corner. He followed with a springboard dropkick on Hawkins' back for a near fall. Hawkins had a near fall of his own moments later, then argued with the ref over the count. Hawkins climbed to the corner, but Trent got up there to try to fight him. Yoshi Tatsu vs. Primo

Primo was accompanied to the ring by his NXT Diva Rookie, AJ Lee. CM Punk told Stanford to refer to him as "Mr. Punk." Yoshi had an impressive move as he bounced off the ropes and caught Primo with an elbow. Right before a commercial break, Yoshi knocked Primo out of the ring towards the commentary area.

Primo gained control after the break as he tripped Yoshi against the middle ropes then ran from across the ring to jump on his back out of the ring. Primo landed in front of the commentators and let out a huge scream than slapped hands with Punk. Primo remained in control with near falls.

Shad tried to jump on JTG's back again, but JTG rolled onto his back to get a knee into Shad's groin.

WWE Superstars Recap 04.15.10

WWE Superstars from London:

WWE Superstars opened with the pyro firing off and then Todd Grisham and Matt Striker on hand for commentary. Tonight's main event features Raw's MVP vs. Ted Dibiase.

Matt Hardy vs. Carlito

Hardy arrived to the ring with NXT rookie Justin Gabriel, while Carlito came out with rookie Michael Tarver. Tarver continued to wear a strange "T" half mask over his mouth like he was on WWE NXT Tuesday.

Right before break, Hardy re-injured his right arm/biceps while going after Carlito. Carlito charged at Hardy near the ropes, but Matt dropped down with the top rope causing Carlito to fall to the outside. From there, Hardy did an elbow drop to the back of Carlito's head off the apron.

Carlito was in control in the ring after break. In the closing moments of the match, Hardy still was favoring his arm, but managed to gain control near the ropes. Carlito countered a move and went for a Backstabber, but Hardy held the top rope so Carlito crashed to the mat. Matt awaited Carlito's return to his feet. Just as Hardy set up for Twist of Fate, Michael Tarver jumped on the apron and yelled at the ref for distraction. Justin Gabriel ran over and yanked Tarver's leg to cause him to hit the apron face first. Hardy completed Twist of Fate for the victory.

Winner: Matt Hardy wins via pinfall over Carlito.

Ask the Divas segment was shown next with "What is your favorite Karaoke song?". Eve, Gail Kim and Alicia Fox were among the divas who answered in song format.

Christian vs. Chavo Guerrero

Raw's Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole were on hand for the next match. NXT rookie Heath Slater came to the ring with Christian. Christian knocked Chavo over the top rope and then did a running dropkick through the ropes to send Chavo into the crowd barricade. Christian went for a missile dropkick back in the ring, with Chavo countering by grabbing his legs. From there, Chavo catapulted Christian into the bottom rope and did some more damage on the outside, before bringing Christian back.

Christian gained control for quite some time, with a few near falls. Chavo managed to escape Christian's second DDT tornado attempt from the corner. Chavo hit two of his three suplexes, but Christian countered the third then did an inverted DDT. Still Chavo kept coming back, and managed to hit a Gory bomb on Christian for a near fall. Chavo and Christian ended up fighting around the top rope apron area, with Christian ramming Chavo head first into the ring post. Chavo came back to jump on the corner and threw Christian to the mat. He went for the Frogsplash but Christian got both knees up to block, then hit Killswitch for the win.

Winner: Christian wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

They showed highlights from the latest WWE NXT competition which involved the 8 rookies each speaking on a random topic for 30 seconds. The winner was Wade Barrett who will now get his own original theme music, while the other rookies must continue to use their Pro's theme music for their entrances.

Jerry Lawler sent a thank you out to Saliva for their song "Time to Shine", the official theme song for Extreme Rules PPV 2010 edition.

After a short Randy Orton highlight video, they rolled out the Raw Rebound. It covered this past Monday's main event between Randy Orton and Batista. Orton avoided a Spear from Batista by kicking him in the shoulder, then threw him shoulder first into the ringpost. Next up it was the RKO for The Animal, leaving him flat on the mat. Orton was ready to pin, but Jack Swagger snuck inside the ring to grab Orton and hit the Gutwrench Powerbomb. Once Swagger left the ring and was on the ramp, John Cena rushed down the ramp and knocked Swagger down. In the ring, Cena locked the STF onto Batista until he tapped and several refs had to restrain Cena. Raw closed with Cena hyped up.

Cole and Lawler ran down the 2010 Extreme Rules card so far: Sheamus vs. HHH, Batista vs. Cena, CM Punk vs. Mysterio and Randy Orton vs. Jack Swagger.

Ted Dibiase was introduced before a commercial break. He arrived to the ring with his Million Dollar Championship belt.

MVP vs. Ted Dibiase

They showed Dibiase's in-ring speech from 2 weeks ago on Raw. Dibiase showed off the Million Dollar title, and called himself "the fortunate son" before defeating Christian in a matchup. Dibiase spoke again to the WWE Universe in England. Dibiase talked about how all his dad ever gave him was his last name, a trust fund and the Million Dollar belt. Dibiase told them not to hate him, because they wake up daily wishing they could live like him. MVP's music hit and Montell came out to interrupt the speech. With mic in hand, MVP told Dibiase he could stick all his money and the title somewhere. MVP said just like the fans, he's had to work hard to get where he is today, and nobody cares how much money Dibiase has.

MVP had control of things and went for the running kick in the corner. Dibiase moved away, but as he charged at MVP, MVP elbowed him out of the corner. MVP got on the corner for a move, but Dibiase swiped his leg out causing MVP to hit the mat hard. MVP rolled out to fall to the floor and recover as Superstars went to break.

Superstars returned with Dibiase in control while Lawler argued with Cole about his view on rich people. Lawler said people tend to have a negative stereotype of rich people but then go buy lottery tickets. Dibiase kept a headlock on MVP for a while, before using a running clothesline to knock MVP back down for a near fall. MVP regained control of things though using a series of moves. After smashing Dibiase's face into his knee, it was time for the Ballin' elbow drop. Dibiase rolled onto the apron. As MVP went over to get him, Dibiase yanked MVP throat first across the top rope.

In the closing moments, Dibiase reverse-whipped MVP to the corner. MVP jumped up holding the corner top rope, but Dibiase caught MVP's legs on his shoulders. Dibiase dropped MVP on the top rope, causing him to hurt his groin area. As MVP stumbled back, Dibiase got him from behind with Dream Street for the win. Superstars closed with Dibiase showing off the Million Dollar Belt.

Winner: Ted Dibiase wins via pinfall over MVP.

WWE Superstars Recap 04.08.10

WWE Superstars Recap 04.08.10

Superstars started off with Team LayCool coming to the ring with Vickie Guerrero. Team Laycool came to the ring with Vickie Guerrero. She did her "excuse me" bit to get the crowd going. McCool talked about how Beth Phoenix was complaining she wasn't getting a Womens title shot. Michelle said Beth Phoenix is a man, "chromosome-challenged". They kept going on with the insults about the "Manazon", and Vickie thanked them for doing this work. Vickie said rule #1 for the divas division, you must be a diva, so she can't have a Womens Championship match. Vickie said instead she'll face Layla tonight in an Intergender match. A not-so-happy Beth Phoenix made her way to the ring, with Layla looking terrified.

Beth Phoenix vs. Layla

Beth went after Layla as soon as the bell rang, so Layla rushed out of the ring to hide. She got back in but this time ducked out under the ropes several times to avoid Phoenix. As Beth came towards her, Layla kicked her in the head then gave several more kicks. Finally, Beth Phoenix took her down with a chop, then lifted her with both hands to sit Layla on the corner. Beth tossed Layla off the corner, then grabbed her legs as Layla held the ropes. Beth dropped Layla to the mat, then got down yelling at her to "say it to my face." Michelle got near the ring to grab Beth's leg, so Beth jumped outside and went after her and Vickie. She knocked Vickie down, then realized who she had hit.

Michelle interfered from ringside with the ref not looking, allowing Layla to get the upperhand briefly. Beth stood up as Layla had a headlock on her and rammed her to the corner. Layla tried to jump off the corner, but Beth caught her then hit a backbreaker across her knee. From there it was the Glam Slam for the win.

After the match, McCool ran in to attack Beth as Vickie held her leg from outside. Phoenix ended up grabbing McCool onto her shoulder and kicking Layla down, before dumping Michelle out of the ring. Team Laycool and Vickie all rushed up the ramp.

Winner: Beth Phoenix wins via pinfall over Layla.

They showed the Pros Poll rankings for WWE NXT and a recap from the latest episode including the beer keg carrying contest that Heath Slater won. Slater's "prize" was a main event match against Kane which he lost in five minutes time.

Evan Bourne & Yoshi Tatsu vs. Zack Ryder & Chavo Guerrero

Ryder was escorted to the ring by girlfriend Rosa Mendes.

Evan Bourne became the target of the heels' attack as they kept him away from the tag to Yoshi. He finally escaped to tag out, and Yoshi came in on fire. Things broke down at one point with all of them getting involved, until the ring was cleared of just Chavo and Yoshi. Chavo got his Tres Amigos suplexes in but as he went off the corner for a Frogsplash he saw Yoshi roll away, so Chavo rolled onto the mat. Zack Ryder came in to attack Yoshi from behind but got kicked out of the ring. Yoshi put a leg submission onto Chavo and then rolled towards the corner where he held Chavo in the leg lock and tagged Bourne. Boure set up his Air Bourne, and Yoshi got out of the way as Bourne hit the move for the win.

Winners: Evan Bourne & Yoshi Tatsu win via pinfall over Chavo and Zack Ryder.

They showed behind the scenes footage from Extreme Makeover Home Edition which will feature WWE Superstars R-Truth and Big Show, and The Bella Twins. The episode airs on ABC this Sunday at 8PM EST/ 7C.

They showed a lengthy highlight video of the new World Heavyweight Champion, The All American American Jack Swagger. Cole and Lawler introduced the Raw Rebound which featured Swagger in the intro. He ended up going one-on-one with Randy Orton who pinned him for the second straight week in a row. Also in the show, guest host David Otunga put himself in a tag team title match with John Cena against MizShow. However, Otunga abandoned Cena when he went for a tag late in the match, allowing Show to knock out Cena for the win. Batista came to the ring to do some further damage with a Batista Bomb, before announcing he'll take his rematch at Extreme Rules in a Last Man Standing match.

MVP made his ring entrance before a commercial break.

MVP vs. Carlito

Carlito brought his NXT rookie Michael Tarver to the ring with him. MVP jawed with Tarver who was ringside before he and Carlito finally locked up. MVP took control early with a series of moves, but couldn't capture the pinfall. He worked on the left arm a bit with a hold before whipping Carlito against the ropes and hitting a backdrop. Carlito managed to gain his own momentum for a bit, but MVP regained control and had him set up for the Ballin' Elbow. Carlito rolled out of the ring to avoid getting hit, so MVP hit a baseball slide dropkick to knock him down. MVP went out to collect Carlito. Tarver started trash talking MVP as Carlito jabbed MVP in the gut. Superstars went to break.

During break, Carlito shoved MVP into a ringpost. He now had control in the ring with a headlock on Porter. MVP stood up to begin fighting out of it, and was able to convert a suplex into a near fall. MVP went for his running corner kick, but Carlito avoided it and MVP went to the apron. Carlito knocked him off the apron to the outside, then tossed MVP back in the ring. He failed at the pinfall attempt.

In the final moments, MVP had the momentum as he hit a Facebuster with Carlito's face against his knee. From there, he got the Ballin' Elbow drop. He went for the Playmaker, but Carlito countered and sent MVP against the ropes. Carlito went for Backstabber, but MVP held the top rope to throw him off. Carlito ended up on the apron but knocked MVP back, then went for a Springboard move. MVP booted him down for a near fall. Carlito got up and whipped MVP to the ropes. He went for a dropkick, but Tarver grabbed MVP's leg, and Carlito fell to the mat. MVP came back to hit the Playmaker for the win, as Tarver was beside himself for causing his pro to lose.

Winner: MVP wins via pinfall over Carlito.
