Smackdown Preview 03.07.08

Tonight's Smackdown, is appropriately titled "Big Things Poppin'" and will feature Montel Vontavius Porter (MVP) defending his US Championship against The Animal, Batista. In two previous matchups, Batista showed how he is the superior wrestler, defeating the bragging MVP. Last week, Kane and Batista teamed up to defeat Great Khali and MVP as a tag team. Batista will also be the Smackdown representative come Wrestlemania 24, as he faces Raw's Umaga to prove which brand is better. Can Batista achieve another title, this time by defeating the Ballin' Superstar MVP for his US title?

Also there will be a special WWE Divas Swimsuit contest on tonight's show. As of right now, no diva names have been released for the big contest, but you'd have to believe WWE Diva Maria will be on hand to promote her Playboy magazine. Also expect the likes of Beth Phoenix and Melina to be around to possibly "spoil the show".

Edge will welcome WWE Hall of Fame inductee Ric Flair to "The Cutting Edge" at the top of the show. What will Flair have to say to the world and Edge? Will Edge have words for Flair about his upcoming contest with Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 24?

All this and more, featuring a match between WWE Kane and Chuck Palumbo, and a possible appearance from Big Show prior to this coming Monday's Raw weigh in with Floyd Mayweather.
