ECW Recap 04.15.08

ECW Recap from London, England:

When ECW opened Tazz announced that Joey Styles will be leaving as an announcer on ECW, but has been promoted to the head of WWE.com. The new announcer will be Mike Adamle, who Styles introduced, seated next to him. CM Punk made his way down the ramp with the MITB briefcase to start the show off.

CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore vs. Elijah Burke, Deuce N' Domino and Shelton Benjamin

An 8 man tag battle started off the show. Domino started off against CM Punk, using a wrist/armlock. Punk quickly escaped and put a headlock on Domino. Yang tagged in and was able to hit a huge dropkick, then land on Domino for the pin attempt. Punk tagged in yet again, but was thrown to the corner. Domino tagged in Shelton to beat up Punk some.

Shelton eventually tossed Punk out through the ropes. All 8 men got into a "face off" outside the ring as ECW went to commercial. The show returned and Punk took control of Burke, then tagged in Kofi. Kofi managed to slide under Burke's legs then used an armbar takedown. Moore tagged in to work on Elijah some before tagging in Yang who flipped over the ropes to splash Burke. Burke soon recovered as he hit a huge uppercut to Yang, then put him on the ropes to choke him. Shelton made the tag in and wore down Yang even more, using a headlock down on the mat. Deuce tagged in to continue stomping on Yang.

The heels continued to work over Yang, as Burke and Deuce tagged in and out to continue a beatdown. Yang eventually managed to backflip Domino to escape, then tagged in Kofi just as Domino tagged in Deuce. Eventually everyone got into a huge fight out the ring, leaving Kofi in the ring with Deuce. After ducking Deuce's move attempt, Kofi landed a Jamaican Buzzsaw kick to win it.

Winners: Kofi Kingston, CM Punk, Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore win via pinfall.

Highlights shown from last week's ECW title match contract signing between Chavo Guerrero and Kane. After some in-ring trash talking between the two, Chavo introduced his new "enforcer" and a tall bald man in a suit came to the ring to help Chavo, Ryder & Hawkins decimate Kane in the ring.

Kane shown backstage and began saying Chavo made a huge mistake in attacking him last week. Kane said later tonight the tag champs Miz and Morrison will face their destruction, The Brothers of Destruction. The camera cut to Undertaker who's eyes rolled into the back of his head as Kane began to chuckle.

Tazz was in the ring and announced a "diva dance off". Tazz introduced Layla, Maryse, Eve, Lena & Kelly Kelly. Each of the divas danced to Pitbull's "The Anthem", then Tazz asked for crowd reaction. Kelly Kelly received the biggest support from the audience and was declared winner of tonight's "Diva Dance Off". All the other divas left the ring as Kelly posed in the ring corners, then Tazz asked for the music again. Tazz danced in the ring with Kelly Kelly before exiting.

Tommy Dreamer vs. Mike Knox

Prior to the match starting, ECW GM Armando Estrada came to the ramp and said the fans would prefer a competitive match. Estrada said the fans want to see a potential champion fight Mike Knox, so he ordered Colin Delaney to get in the ring, and Dreamer to hit the locker room.

Knox landed a huge shot on Delaney to start things off, then clotheslined him the mat. Knox treated Delaney like a ragdoll, slamming him around the ring, then setting him in the corner for a splash. Knox used a backbreaker and his finisher and took a quick pin over the beaten up Delaney.

Winner: Mike Knox wins via pinfall over Colin Delaney.

Footage shown from earlier today with Miz and Morrison backstage. Miz said he and Morrison have a stronger brotherhood as tag team champs. Morrison said the man to stare Undertaker in the eyes tonight and face him will be, The Miz. Miz nodded after looking a bit puzzled over what Morrison just said.

The Miz & John Morrison vs. Kane & The Undertaker

Kane started off working on Miz, and quickly took control. Taker tagged in to continue and went Old School off the ropes to smash Miz to the mat. Morrison tagged in and was also dropped to the mat. Taker knocked Miz to the outside then layed him up on the apron for some abuse. Taker went for a massive leg drop on Miz on the apron as ECW went to break.

When ECW returned, Morrison was beating on Undertaker in the corner. The ref warned Morrison and Undertaker grabbed him, then tossed Morrison to the corner for a barrage of punches. Taker continued knocking Morrison down and stomped on him. Kane tagged in and nearly had Morrison in the chokeslam, but Morrison escaped to tag Miz in. Kane went over and threw Miz into the ring then began to beat him up. After clotheslining Miz in the corner, Kane used a sideslam, then went to the corner. Morrison distracted Kane and knocked him down off the corner, but Kane shoved Morrison off the apron. Miz capitalized by hitting Kane from behind, and soon Morrison had tagged back in.

The tag champs continued to work on Kane, keeping him away from the Deadman. Eventually, Kane escaped, but all 4 men got into the ring at once. Kane and Taker delivered chokeslams on both Miz and Morrison. With Morrison the legal man still, Undertaker picked him up then hit the Tombstone Piledriver for the win.

Winners: Kane & the Undertaker win by pinfall over The Miz & John Morrison.
