Raw Preview 11.03.08
Tonight when Raw starts at a special time of 8PM EST, it will be celebrating a true milestone in television. Tonight Raw celebrates 800 episodes, which eclipses the number of episodes by such classic shows as MASH, Friends and The Simpsons. And what better way to celebrate than to have one of the classic matches from WWE history, a steel cage match for the World Heavyweight Championship!
Batista became the new World Heavyweight champ as of Cyber Sunday, defeating Chris Jericho for the title. During that match, there were 3 different guest referees including Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin was the final presiding ref as he counted the winning pinfall for the Animal. The next night on Raw an angry Jericho claimed that there was a conspiracy against him, and that GM Mike Adamle, Shawn Michaels & Stone Cold cost him the title. Jericho demanded a rematch, and Mike Adamle took it a step further. To make sure there would be no outside interference, Adamle made the title contest a Steel Cage match. Batista claims he lives for these types of matches, but Y2J always has a trick or two up his sleeve. Who will prevail once the solid steel structure is lowered around the ring?
Last week also saw an angry Randy Orton confront GM Mike Adamle. Orton claimed that Adamle sent him down as a backup referee during the Batista-Jericho match at Cyber Sunday, putting a recovering Orton into harm's way. Orton was on the receiving end of a Stone Cold Stunner and claims he may have re-injured himself. Upset over the matter, Orton looked directly into the camera and demanded Shane & Stephanie McMahon show up on tonight's Raw. Orton told Adamle he plans to have him fired due to his poor decisions. Orton took it a step further by calling Adamle a failure at just about everything, including his wife and kids. The GM wasn't pleased with Orton's comments and slapped him. Now with tensions high, will Orton get his wish granted and have Adamle removed? Or will the McMahon's show confidence in the current GM's abilities?
FInally, tonight will see a reunion of the legendary D-Generation X. The two will get into the ring to face a cocky, up-and-coming tag team consisting of ECW's The Miz & John Morrison. For several weeks now Miz & Morrison have been mocking DX and insulting towards the tag team calling them "D-Geriatric X". Last week even saw two fakes come to the ring dressed as HHH and HBK so that Miz & Morrison could give a display of what they expect to do. Tonight will be the true test as Miz & Morrison try to show that they are the best team there is. WIll they be successful, or will DX show what legends are made of?
Tune in to tonight's special 800th episode celebration of Raw starting at 8PM EST on USA!
