Smackdown Recap 11.14.08

Smackdown recap from the UK:

Friday's SmackDown opened with a casket set in the ring. As the casket opens, it opens and The Undertaker appears from inside it. On the Titantron, Jeff Hardy shows up, and says he'll put all his emotion into their match tonight. The Undertaker vows that Jeff Hardy will rest in peace.

Matt Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin

In a non-title match, two champs faced off. The Gold Standard Shelton Benjamin seemed to be in control as he exploited a knee injury to keep Matt down through the match. Shelton continued to work on Matt's knee throughout the match. Matt finally gained control, quickly hit the Twist of Fate, and scored the winning pinfall.

Winner: Matt Hardy wins via pinfall over Shelton Benjamin.

The Brian Kendrick vs. Carlito

Kendrick was accompanied to the ring by his bodyguard Ezekiel Jackson. At one point, Ezekiel assisted Kendrick by attacking Primo Colon ouside the ring. Kendrick was able to take advantage when Carlito was distracted, and hit the Sliced Bread Number Two to win the match.

Winner: The Brian Kendrick wins via pinfall over Carlito.

A promotional video was shown for Kizarny's SmackDown debut, coming soon.

The official contract signing was held for Vladimir Kozlov & Triple H for their WWE title bout at Survivor Series. Kozlov signed off to make his half of the match official. Before Triple H had the chance to sign, Jeff Hardy rushed out from the crowd and slammed Kozlov through the table.

Kung Fu Naki vs. MVP

This match was barely started when The Great Khali came out. Khali was able to distract MVP and Funaki was able to get the upset win. MVP suffered yet another loss and has very little time to win before Survivor Series.

The Great Khali remained at ringside for the Kiss Cam.

Winner: Kung Fu Naki wins via pinfall over MVP.

During the Great Khali's Kiss Cam a large woman come into the ring. The heavyset woman danced for Khali and then kissed him. Khali layed out MVP in the ring with a chop and then a chokeslam. The same girl from Khali's kiss got down to the mat and kissed the knocked out MVP.

Maria vs. Michelle McCool
Divas Championsip Match

During the match, Jesse and Festus arrived at ringside to watch. Michelle was able to defeat Maria using a submission hold to retain the Divas title. Jesse and Festus were at ringside to watch. Since the bell sounded after Michelle won, Festus snapped and went into the ring to check if Maria was ok.

Winner: Michelle McCool wins via submission over Maria to retain the WWE Divas Championship.

Jeff Hardy vs. The Undertaker
Extreme Rules Match

Early on in the match, both men fought to the outside, then returned quickly back inside the ring. Undertaker was in control for the early part of the contest, throwing Hardy into the crowd barricade, then using a chair to legdrop onto Hardy. Jeff fought back using a Kendo stick shot on the outside but Taker was still able to gain control. Undertaker bounced Jeff Hardy off the announce table but Jeff tried to stage a comeback. After sending Taker face first into the crowd barricade, Undertaker hit Jeff from off the barricade.

Undertaker tried to use Old School but Hardy managed to block it. Hardy threw a ladder at Undertaker then hit his patented Whisper in the Wind on him. All of a sudden, Big Show arrived to the match, then chokeslammed the Undertaker down. Undertaker went after Big Show with a chair but in the process, Jeff managed to smash Taker with the chair instead. Hardy then climbed up the ladder and hit a legdrop on Undertaker to get the pinfall win.

Jeff Hardy vs. Triple H for the WWE title will now take place on Smackdown November 21st.

Winner: Jeff Hardy wins via pinfall over The Undertaker to earn a WWE title shot against Triple H on Smackdown.
