Raw Preview 12.01.08
Last week's Raw saw the start of a new era along with the new World Heavyweight Champion. The champ, John Cena, made his return to the show in triumphant and dramatic fashion, as he lead fans into the arena from backstage. Cena then made his way into the ring to confront Chris Jericho about his comments regarding the fans and Cena. In Cena's speech he reminded Jericho that WWE wouldn't be there if it weren't for the loyalty of the fans. Jericho seemed to be leaving the ring to avoid a confrontation with Cena. Cena's speech seemed to stir up Jericho, but even more so, it riled up John Cena. As Jericho got back into the ring, Cena went on a rampage, attacking the former champ and leaving him down on the mat after a STFU. Cena looks to be back and better than ever as he carries the World Heavyweight title. However, Acting General Manager, Stephanie McMahon, ordered Kane to take on Cena in a non-title bout for tonight's show. How will Cena fare against the vicious Big Red Machine? Will Jericho make an appearance during the match?
As for Jericho, he managed to earn the #1 Contender's spot for the title. Jericho managed to defeat Randy Orton and Batista in a Triple Threat match. Jericho seemed to steal the victory away from Batista at the last moment, deliverng a dropkick that sent Batista off his pin of Randy Orton. Jericho took the pin, and now heads to Armageddon in just a few weeks to face the champ. Will Jericho be able to regain the title he had just a week or so ago? Will Batista and Orton continue with their feud on tonight's episode of Raw?
Raw also continues to host a tournament for the prized Intercontinental title. Rey Mysterio will be facing The Miz this week in a first round matchup. The Miz and Morrison continue to be one of the WWE's hottest tag teams, always finding clever ways to win. Morrison may factor into Miz's match on Raw. Last week, Mysterio attempted to deliver an interview backstage, but Mike Knox came in to interrupt. Knox stared down Mysterio in an attempt to intimidate the smaller superstar. In the previous week, Knox attacked an already injured Evan Bourne, as well as Kofi Kingston. William Regal also has been known to make his presence known during these matches. Will John Morrison, Regal or Knox be ringside to cause mayhem during Mysterio's match? Who will advance to the next round of the Intercontinental title tournament?
