Raw Preview 03.16.09

On tonight's episode of Raw, two wrestlers will join forces as unlikely partners in a tag team match. Wrestlemania 25 opponents Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker will form a tag team to take on recent Intercontinental Champion, JBL, and Smackdown's "Moscow Mauler", Vladimir Kozlov. In week's past there's been plenty of matchups involving these superstars, with both Undertaker and Michaels enjoying recent victories over Kozlov. Kozlov also holds a victory over the Undertaker on Smackdown. Meanwhile, JBL is enjoying the fruits of his labor after defeating CM Punk last week for the Intercontinental Title. It wasn't all that long ago that Shawn Michaels was JBL's paid employee, doing JBL's bidding. HBK and JBL have parted ways thanks to Michaels winning his money and freedom in a match, but now they will collide in the ring once again. The question becomes, can the Deadman and the Showstopper work together effectively? Or will this pair let their differences show as they try to team up?

On last week's show it was also revealed by John Cena and some handy backstage video footage that Vickie Guerrero and Big Show have been having an affair behind Edge's back. The news shocked Edge and the WWE Universe, causing Vickie to become an emotional wreck in the ring. Cena was all smiles as he had used the footage to blackmail Vickie into adding him to the World Heavyweight Title match at Wrestlemania 25. As Smackdown passed on Friday, there was no mention made by Vickie or Edge of the incident, as Edge disposed of Kofi Kingston in a match. Big Show has yet to be heard from on the matter either. What will be said by Show, Vickie, Edge and/or Cena as Raw airs Monday night?

Last week also saw the arrogant and brash Chris Jericho going against Kofi Kingston for a spot in Wrestlemania 25's Money in the Bank Ladder match. Jericho gained control of the high-flying and fast-paced Kingston when he locked him into the Walls of Jericho submission hold. Much to Jericho's surprise, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair appeared at the top of the ramp to watch the matchup. Flair's appearance caused enough of a distraction as Jericho let go of Kingston and glared out of the ring at Flair. With Jericho's attention taken away, Kofi Kingston capitalized by delivering a solid roundhouse spin kick to Jericho's head. After Kingston had won and claimed his spot in the big match at Wrestlemania, he joined Flair at the top of the ramp to celebrate. Flair taunted Jericho, prompting the superstar to call out Flair during a backstage rant. Jericho has demanded that Flair come out of retirement on Raw tonight to face him in a one-on-one match, so that Jericho can completely destroy Flair. Will Flair accept the challenge on tonight's show?

Also stay tuned for the latest on the volatile Triple H and Randy Orton situation. With Triple H taken away in a police squad car last week there's no word yet on whether he'll be available for Raw. Catch all the action of the show at 9PM EST on USA!
