Smackdown Preview 04.10.09

Since Wrestlemania 25 has come and gone, the WWE Smackdown superstars are anticipating the upcoming 2009 WWE Draft. The Smackdown landscape has already changed this past week with the decision by Vickie Guerrero to become the permanent general manager for WWE Raw. This draft may send several prominent names from Smackdown to either ECW or Raw, so this could be the last show seeing them on Smackdown. Also, at Wrestlemania 25, Edge lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Raw's John Cena. Cena managed to defeat both Big Show and Edge in a Triple Threat match at Wrestlemania to win back his prized possession. Now that he's the former champion, Edge will host a special edition of "The Cutting Edge" tonight on Smackdown with his guest none other than the new champ, John Cena. The two are also scheduled to meet in a rematch at Backlash which was announced by Vickie Guerrero as a Last Man Standing Match. What will Edge and Cena have to say, and will they be able to get along in the ring? Also, what will Big Show's next move be following Wrestlemania 25 and his quest to gain the title and Vickie's love?

Returning to Smackdown victorious after Wrestlemania 25 are The Colons, Carlito and Primo. In a lumberjack match prior to the televised Wrestlemania 25 on Pay-Per-View, Carlito and Primo were able to defeat The Miz & John Morrison to unify the tag team titles. Carrying both sets of tag belts on their shoulders, Carlito and Primo had a rematch against Miz & Morrison this past Monday on Raw, where they once again were surrounded by lumberjacks. Again, The Colons were victorious proving that they just might be the best tag team in the WWE at this moment. Will Miz and Morrison attempt to challenge the unified tag champs again, or will a new team find its way into the mix? Will this be the last time The Colons (one or both) are seen on Smackdown?

Two other Smackdown stars returning as Wrestlemania winners are Matt Hardy and The Undertaker. Matt was able to withstand a brutal extreme rules contest against his brother, which saw Jeff jump off one ladder over another in an attempt to legdrop on Matt. Matt rolled out of harm's way and managed to score the winning pinfall. This feud is certainly not over after one match though. What will Jeff Hardy's next move be in response to Matt's victory? Undertaker did what he set out to do by successfully keeping his Wrestlemania undefeated streak in tact. After a tough win over the Showstopper, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker now has a 17-0 record. Will Smackdown hear from the Deadman tonight, or will he be resting up after the grueling match?

With the WWE draft looming which Smackdown stars will see their last appearance on the roster? Catch Smackdown tonight at 8PM EST on MyNetworkTV!
