Superstars Recap 06.11.09

This week's edition of WWE Superstars on WGN America featured several interesting matchups. There was a Raw divas tag team battle where Beth Phoenix and her intern, Rosa Mendes took on the beautiful Bella Twins, Brie and Nikki. ECW stars Evan Bourne and Zack Ryder fought it out, and in the main event it was the Shaman of Sexy, John Morrison, taking on the brand new Intercontinental Champion, Chris Jericho. Here's the match-by-match recap and results from the 06/11/09 WWE Superstars.

Brie & Nikki Bella vs. Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes

In the opening match it was a tag team battle featuring four beautiful Raw divas. Beth Phoenix and her protege Rosa took on the Bella Twins, Brie and Nikki, who were once at odds. Early on, The Glamazon dominated her opponents. Nikki Bella was able to make a comeback as she scored a dropkick on Beth and several other moves. She had the pinfall, but Rosa Mendes came in to disrupt things. The disruption allowed Beth to hit her finisher, planting the Bella Twin face first into the mat for a quick pinfall victory in just 4 minutes time.

Winners: Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes win via pinfall over The Bella Twins.

Evan Bourne vs. Zack Ryder

Evan Bourne was still hurting from the attack Mark Henry gave him on ECW Tuesday night, and had taped ribs to show for it. Bourne took his aerial attack to the reborn "Woo woo woo" star, Zack Ryder. From the get go, Ryder tried his best to keep Bourne from "taking off". Ryder used a variety of submission holds to wear down Bourne, but the crowd was in favor of Evan and tried to rally him to get up. Bourne responded and was able to take Ryder down with a kick, swinging head scissors and then a running clothesline. After the failed pinfall attempt, things moved to the corner turnbuckle where Bourne was able to battle Ryder and knock him down onto the mat. From there, Bourne prepped himself then did the amazing Shooting Starpress to finish off Ryder.

Winner: Evan Bourne wins via pinfall over Zack Ryder.

John Morrison vs. Chris Jericho

The brand new Intercontinental Champ Chris Jericho looked to take down the Shaman of Sexy, John Morrison in the feature bout from Smackdown. Late in the match, Jericho missed on his Lionsault attempt. Morrison hit a spinning kick off the ropes but couldn't get the 3 count on Jericho. Jericho responded by trying to charge at Morrison in the ring corner, but missed, allowing Morrison to try for Starship Pain. Jericho countered and turned it into Walls of Jericho. Morrison countered to make it a pinfall attempt, but Jericho rolled the pin in his favor by grabbing on Morrison's tights to secure it. As Superstars closed out, Jericho and Morrison engaged in a staredown, showing that this feud may just be starting up.

Winner: Chris Jericho wins via pinfall over John Morrison.
