Fatal Fourway will decide WWE Title
As we saw on Raw just a few days ago, Batista suffered a heinous attack at the hands of Randy Orton and his Legacy gang. Rhodes, Dibiase and Orton were able to ambush Batista in the ring during the opening of Raw, where the Animal was discussing how great it felt to win the WWE Title and to shut up Orton. The attack involved all of Legacy ganging up on Batista and repeatedly stomping away on his arm followed by a painful-looking (yet still fake) snapping of Batista's arm. Truth be told, Batista had a torn biceps injury prior to Raw and it was even known news during Extreme Rules that Batista was scheduled to have surgery on this past Tuesday for the injury. It makes you wonder why the title was even moved for just a day to Batista.
On ECW it was announced that Batista had been stripped off the WWE Title and that it will be decided on the upcoming special 3-hour episode of Raw next Monday. The WWE Title match will be a Fatal Fourway between Big Show, John Cena, Randy Orton and Triple H. Definitely makes for a compelling matchup, but at the same time is the whole Orton-Triple H feud getting a bit stale? Was the Big Show-Cena feud extended due to the Batista situation?
Kevin Eck makes a good point in his recent Ring Posts blog entry, Looking at the WWE title situation when he says that beyond http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifCena, Show, Orton and HHH there's no guys who seem worthy of a heavyweight title push. Mr. Kennedy was primed for a big return and to be propelled into the title picture, but he's history. MVP seems like he needs something extra to get the fans behind his push. He definitely has the making of a top champion, but a good storyline may be necessary to really push him to the top. Having him interrupt Randy Orton when MVP debuted on Raw weeks ago, was a good start.
Again, the questions pops up, why even have Batista lose the title at Extreme Rules? A 1 day title reign from a cage match victory just doesn't seem like a smart move and it certainly doesn't make the WWE title any more prestigious. Many people feel the title will move back to Orton, but there also seems to be a Triple H-Batista and John Cena vs. Batista match coming soon...
