Over the Limit PPV 2010 Matches

The newest innovation in WWE Pay-Per-Views will be 2010's Over the Limit, scheduled for Sunday, May 23, 2010. At WWE Over the Limit so far at least three titles will be on the line including John Cena's WWE Title and Jack Swagger's World Title. Also, we will see several ongoing feuds settled while others are just beginning. Here's a look at the 2010 Over the Limit PPV matches on the card.

Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk
Join SES vs Punk's Hair

This is the third deciding match in the feud of Mysterio and Punk. At Wrestlemania 26, Mysterio won against Punk and saved himself from having to join StraightEdge Society. At Extreme Rules, Punk's hair was on the line, but a mystery man attacked Mysterio from ringside, saving Punk's hair. Now, both stipulations will be on the line in this match. Will Mysterio be forced to join Punk's Straightedge Society, or will Punk be shaved bald by Mysterio?

Randy Orton vs. Edge

Several weeks ago Edge was one of the biggest names to move rosters in the WWE draft, as he went from Smackdown to Raw. That same night he chose to make a huge impact, interfering in the Triple Threat match to determine the #1 Contender for the WWE Title. Randy Orton had taken control over Batista, with Sheamus out of the picture. However, just as Orton was ready to score the pin, the Rated-R Superstar was in the ring to spear him down. From there, Batista claimed the victory after pinning Orton. A week later, Orton got revenge when he delivered the RKO on Edge in the ring, thwarting his spear attempt. The next week, Orton overcame tough odds by winning a 2-on-1 handicap match against Edge and Ted Dibiase. Once again he caught Edge outside the ring with a RKO. Who will win the battle of these former Rated RKO partners at Over the Limit?

Chris Jericho & The Miz vs. The Hart Dynasty
Unified Tag Team title match

We saw this tag team form just recently as Chris Jericho was drafted to Raw, and Miz's partner Big Show was drafted to Smackdown. After Show delivered a KO punch on both Miz and Jericho, the two began to discuss their dislike of Show, calling him a weak link. Jericho told Miz he had a plan so they could make a statement, and they did, attacking DH Smith of Hart Dynasty after a tag match. On a recent Monday Night Raw, DH Smith and Jericho fought one-on-one, with the stipulation that if Jericho won, he would earn a unified tag title shot for he and Miz. Jericho won with shady tactics and now Jericho/Miz have a shot to each get a share of the unified titles again. Will they be able to defeat Hart Dynasty who is on a hot streak?

Big Show vs. Jack Swagger
World Heavyweight Title match

Jack Swagger continues to boast of numerous achievements including winning Money in the Bank and also winning the World Heavyweight Championship. However, he has yet to achieve one career highlight - defeating the World's Largest Athlete. The Big Show was Smackdown's gain in the 2010 WWE Draft and immediately was named the #1 Contender for Swagger's title. To introduce himself, Show arrived to the ring on Smackdown and gave a unique handshake; a KO punch to Swagger's jaw which left him flat on the mat. Show is clearly the toughest opponent Swagger has yet to meet in the ring. Will the cocky champ be able to retain against the gigantic Big Show?

Batista vs. John Cena
I Quit match for WWE Title

Batista and John Cena have no love lost in their ongoing feud. However, according to John Cena, this will be the last time they meet over the WWE Title. After the two competitors competed in a "Beat the Clock challenge", John Cena won it and was allowed to choose the stipulation for their OTL match. Cena tried to announce it once, but was flattened by Sheamus before he could. The next week on Raw Cena was finally able to speak, and thanked Sheamus for giving him a week to think it over. Cena then announced that he and Batista will battle in an "I Quit" match. The first man to verbally quit will lose this final match between the two for the WWE Title. Will Cena or Batista be the one to finally quit? Who will leave the PPV with the WWE Title?

The Over the Limit Pay-Per-View matches will air on Sunday, May 23, 2010 starting at 8PM EST. Results will be updated from the PPV start onward until it ends around 11PM EST at WWE Characters the Blog. Enjoy this brand new PPV from the WWE!
