Raw Preview 05/21/12

Now that the Over the Limit results for 2012 are official, some fans are truly shocked at the way things ended Sunday night in Raleigh, North Carolina.  John Cena looked to be in complete control of his match against Raw and Smackdown General Manager John Laurinaitis.  Towards the end, Laurinaitis tried to flee from the arena, only to be brought back to the ring by the Big Show.  Cena prepared for the big Attitude Adjustment for the win, but Big Show, in an act of treachery, KO'd Cena with his WMD punch.  That allowed Laurinaitis capture a pinfall win, keeping him in his current position of power.  With that, People Power will live on.  What will Laurinaitis have in store now for John Cena and Raw?


Also during the Over the Limit PPV, the current WWE Champion CM Punk put his title up for grabs against his Ring of Honor colleague Daniel Bryan.  These two put on a stellar matchup with Bryan nearly capturing his second major championship.  However, it was CM Punk who managed to get the pinfall, just before tapping out to Bryan's submission hold.  With that in mind, it would appear that this feud is just getting started.  Will Bryan try to get a second match against Punk for the title?

Finally, last week's Raw saw Paul Heyman get into it with WWE COO Triple H regarding Brock Lesnar's owed payments.  Triple H informed Heyman that Brock will get what he has coming to him.  However, Heyman seems to be threatening further legal action against WWE and Triple H as well.  Will Heyman show up again on Raw to make demands for Brock Lesnar?  Will Triple H have more response for Heyman and Lesnar?

2012 WWE Over the Limit Results & Match Recaps

The 2012 WWE Over the Limit Pay-Per-View arrives as the May installment in the pro wrestling company's monthly events.  Full Over the Limit results and match-by-match recaps will be presented here at WWE Characters the Blog starting Sunday night.

The latest Over the Limit takes place at Raleigh, NC Sunday night with John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis as the main event.  If Laurinaitis loses this match, he will be terminated from his job.  However, if any other WWE superstars or divas interfere in the match, they will be fired.

As of our report, there are a total of 6 matches on the card, with four titles up for grabs.  These include the Fatal Fourway match for Sheamus' World Heavyweight Championship, and CM Punk defending the WWE title against Daniel Bryan.

Zack Ryder vs. Kane

This match was a special free "pre-show" match presented live on YouTube prior to the main Pay-Per-View.  Ryder arrived out first to the ring, but his introduction was cut short by Kane's pyro and the arena going dark.  Early on, Ryder managed to gain the advantage by dropkicking Kane on the outside, then hitting a drop toe hold on him into the steel steps.  Ryder shouted at the ref to countout Kane, and even did a dive over the top rope to keep him out.  Kane finally returned to the ring with Ryder beating away on him.  Kane finally responded with a huge boot kick to take Zack down.

Kane held control for a while, until Ryder made a comeback, and responded from the corner for a near fall move.  He went for a move on Kane in the corner and got dumped to the apron, but then yanked Kane against the top rope to keep control.  Kane was able to grab Ryder by the throat in the corner, but Ryder fought him off.  Kane soon regained control with a sidewalk slam.

The close saw Ryder hit the Broski Boot in the corner and then set up for Rough Ryder.  He charged at Kane but the Big Red Monster was ready and caught him around the throat then hit the chokeslam for the pinfall.

Winner: Kane wins by pinfall over Zack Ryder.

Eve was backstage watching a flatscreen monitor when Cody Rhodes and Santino Marella came into the room arguing over the championships. Santino said he'd rather be the US champion instead of the champion of incontinence. Eve said she and David Otunga came up to a way to settle their disputes. Eve said there will be a "People Power" battle royal coming up next. Eve said whoever wins the battle royal gets to choose which title they go for later on, the US or Intercontinental title. Eve said that match is up next.

Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, and Booker T came out as the commentary team for the Pay-Per-View. Cole told Striker this job is above his pay grade so to get lost. Matthews also left and then Cody Rhodes and Santino were introduced.

People Power Battle Royal

The winner of this match would get to choose which title they fight for later in the night, either the United States or Intercontinental Championship.  Competing in this match were The Great Khali, The Miz, JTG, Ezekiel Jackson, Tyler Reks, Curt Hawkins, Michael McGillicutty, Yoshi Tatsu, The Usos, Tyson Kidd, Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater, Darren Young, Titus O'Neil, Alex Riley, David Otunga, William Regal, and Christian.  Christian was making a surprise return to the ring.  The match started with a minute to go until the official PPV.

Early eliminations included Heath Slater, Michael McGillicutty, Yoshi Tatsu, Curt Hawkins, and Tyler Reks.  Khali started eliminating multiple guys by himself, including Jinder Mahal.  Three guys worked together to get rid of Khali.

The final four came down to Tyson Kidd, The Miz, David Otunga, and Christian.  Kidd was almost tossed out of the ring, then held onto the ropes.  Miz rushed over to try to push Kidd out, but Kidd did a leg scissors around Miz's head.  However, Otunga rushed over and kicked Kidd off to eliminated him.  Miz and Otunga teamed up against Christian.

It came down to Miz vs. Christian, with Miz throwing Christian over the top.  However, Christian held on for dear life.  Miz tried to kick him out but couldn't succeed.  The two fought it out, with Christian throwing Miz against the corner and over the top rope.  Miz held onto the ropes on the apron, but Christian was able to ram him in the gut through the ropes to knock him off the apron.  Christian now gets a title shot later tonight.  Cole said it seems like he's made his choice to face Santino tonight.

Winner:  Christian wins the People Power Battle Royal and will compete for the US or Intercontinental title later on tonight.

Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler vs. R-Truth & Kofi Kingston
WWE Tag Team Championship Match

Late in the match, Truth was on fire and hit the spinning corkscrew on Swagger.  He hit a frontfaced suplex on Swagger, but Vickie got on the apron to distract.  Truth rushed over and knocked Dolph off the apron, but then Swagger threw Truth into the corner so the heels took control.  At one point, Ziggler tagged in and helped hit a massive doubleteam move to smash Truth face first to the mat.  However, Truth kicked out of a pin.  Dolph kept him down in a hold, which involved a show off handstand on him at one point.

Truth ultimately escaped from Swagger, just as Ziggler tagged in.  Kofi made a hot tag and jumped over the ropes to take down Ziggler.  He revved up for Trouble in Paradise but Ziggler avoided it.  Kofi went for the SOS but Ziggler blocked, and then Kofi hit a reverse crossbody off the corner.

In the close, Truth rushed into the ring to break up a pin after Ziggler hit Zig Zag.  Moments later, Truth dove over the top rope to take out Swagger on the outside.  Ziggler tried to rush Kofi with a Zig Zag, but Kofi responded by hitting Trouble in Paradise to knock him down for the pin.


Winners: R-Truth & Kofi Kingston win by pinfall over Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships.

Backstage, Hawkins and Reks were talking to Eve. Eve said they will go into the audience and confiscate any signs they deem as inappropriate. Hawkins and Reks left to go do the job.

Beth Phoenix vs. Layla
WWE Divas Championship Match

Layla got control of things early on, but Beth turned the tables when Layla was up on the corner. Beth pulled Layla's leg out causing her to fall and hurt her right leg. Beth continued to target it even more.

Later in the match, Beth was on the apron trying to pull Layla's hurt leg against the ropes. Layla managed to break free and dropkicked Beth off the apron, then started beating on her when she got into the ring. Beth ducked a kick attempt from Layla and then pressed her overhead. Layla countered it into a DDT move for a near fall.

Layla went for a move off the corner, but Beth turned it into a near Glam Slam. Layla countered that into a pinfall, with Beth rolling through to pull Layla's tights for a pin. However, Layla kicked out. Just moments later, Layla hit a surprise neckbreaker to win it.

Winner: Layla wins by pinfall over Beth Phoenix to retain the Divas Championship.


Striker interviewed Randy Orton about what happened on Smackdown this past Friday after his match with Sheamus. Striker had them cut to video of Orton losing to Sheamus in a non-title match, then offering him a handshake. Orton shook hands then surprised him with the RKO.  Orton talked about how there's no question that Sheamus wouldn't do the same thing if he was in his shoes.  Jericho showed up to interrupt Orton's interview saying he's going to win the title once again.  Orton told him if he gets in his way tonight, he'll be the best in the world at getting RKO'd.  Jericho smirked as Orton left the scene.

Fatal Fourway Match for World Heavyweight Championship

Current champion Sheamus will defend his title against Alberto Del Rio, Chris Jericho, and Randy Orton.  Early on, Orton and Sheamus faced off in a repeat from Smackdown.  The match also featured multiple spots with Jericho and Del Rio teaming up on Sheamus outside the ring, then turning against each other.  At one point, Sheamus and Del Rio faced off in the ring.  Sheamus was in control with Ricardo Rodriguez trying to distract from the apron.  As Sheamus went to clear him off, Del Rio hit his enziguiri kick for a near fall on the champ.  Moments later, Sheamus avoided Del Rio near the ropes.  Del Rio almost fell out but hung on.  Sheamus beat away on his chest, but Jericho leapt off the corner to kick him off down.

Later still, Orton came in to take down Jericho and then Sheamus.  He hit his through the ropes DDT and then dropped down to pound the mat preparing for the RKO.  Del Rio rushed in and slapped on the Cross Armbar breaker.  Orton couldn't break the hold, but Jericho soon rushed over to stop Del Rio.  Jericho took control against Del Rio, but then Del Rio got his knees up on Jericho's Lionsault.

Orton went for the RKO, but Sheamus avoided then went for a Brogue Kick which the champ avoided.  Sheamus tried for a schoolboy pin line on Smackdown, but Orton escaped.  Moments later, Orton cleared Sheamus out of the ring, then hit a double DDT with Del Rio and Rodriguez from the middle rope.  Orton was bleeding on the bridge of his nose.

Del Rio got the cross armbar on Jericho after Jericho hit a Codebreaker on Orton.  Jericho countered Del Rio's move and put the Walls of Jericho on Del Rio.  However, Sheamus rushed in and nearly took his head off with a Brogue Kick, which Jericho avoided.

The crowd got fired up in the late moments with multiple teased finishes. Alberto hit the mat after an RKO by Orton on him.  Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick on Orton, but then with only Jericho remaining, Sheamus got him up for White Noise and finished him off by pinfall.

Winner: Sheamus wins by pinfall over Chris Jericho in the Fatal Fourway match to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.


Backstage, Cody Rhodes was asking about John Laurinaitis and said Eve is handling things well. He then began to talk about how Christian would be scared if he had to face him in the ring tonight. Just then, Christian showed up and told Rhodes he's full of crap. He said he changed his mind and will be facing Cody for the Intercontinental Championship tonight.

The Miz arrived out to the ring to talk trash on Brodus Clay and saying he lacks true dance skills. Miz put on a hat and started his own dance routine to his theme song. Brodus' theme song hit to interrupt, bringing out the Funkettes and Clay to the ring.

Late in the match, Miz was on the corner.  However, Clay managed to crotch him by hitting the ropes, then tossed him onto the mat.  Moments later, Clay finished things with his big splash on Miz.  He invited some kids in the ring to dance with him and the Funkettes.

Winner: Brodus Clay wins by pinfall against The Miz.

Hawkins and Reks were shown in the crowd snatching signs away from fans that were degrading towards John Laurinaitis.  They tore several apart.  Hawkins tried to motion for one fan to bring his sign over as the camera cut away.

Cody Rhodes was introduced for the Intercontinental Championship match and arrived out with a mic in hand. He explained that his dad kept him away from NC as a kid because the people there are shortsighted and biased. That drew heat and then Rhodes said he'll defeat Christian to remain champ now.

Late in the match, Cody and Christian fought on the corner with a superplex the end result.  Rhodes was shaken up too, but managed to get up after the move and went over towards Christian.  Captain Charisma grabbed him to roll him up for a near fall.

Cody had control and went for a flying move from the corner, but Christian punched him in the gut.  Moments later Christian hit a missile drop kick after a pendulum kick in the corner.  He started clapping to rally the Peeps.  However, Cody avoided his Killswitch.  Christian responded by tripping Rhodes against the rope and then jumping over to the outside to slap Rhodes in the face.

The close saw Christian manage to surprise Rhodes with the Killswitch after Rhodes talked trash to the crowd.  Christian grabbed Rhodes' leg and captured the pinfall to collect the Intercontinental Championship.  This is his fourth IC title reign.


Winner: Christian wins via pinfall over Cody Rhodes to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.



The next WWE PPV is four weeks away on June 17th at the Izod Center.

Josh Matthews interviewed WWE Champion CM Punk backstage.  They showed a replay from Friday's Smackdown where Daniel Bryan went after Punk with a steel chair, but hit Kane instead.  Bryan tossed the chair down and ran off as Punk grabbed the chair.  Kane attacked Punk from there with Bryan smiling from the ramp.  Punk said he's feeling like crap right now, then mocked Laurinaitis.  Punk said seeing JL get terminated later will make his night.  Punk said tonight won't just be the five star classic everyone's expecting, it's going to be..AJ interrupted the interview and said "it's going to be a lot of fun to watch, good luck Punk."  AJ smiled in a flirty way, batting her eyes at Punk as he smirked looking sort of puzzled and left.

Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk
WWE Championship Match

Early on, dueling chants of "Daniel Bryan" and "CM Punk" broke out in the arena.  Punk had control with a headlock down on the mat.  Punk yelled "Yes" at Bryan as he kept kneeing him in the leg.  An early spot saw Bryan rush to the corner, then flip over Punk.  Punk put him up for the GTS, but Bryan escaped only to get kicked in his already hurting leg.  Punk stayed in control and managed to trip Bryan down for a submission move which he then turned into a kick move, kicking Bryan face first into the mat for a near fall.

Bryan managed to regain control outside the ring as he ducked a move by Punk and then rammed him against the crowd barrier.  He followed by suplexing Punk onto another barrier into the timekeeper's area.  Back in the ring, Bryan locked a hold on Punk, with the champ kneeing out.  Bryan dropped a knee on Punk's throat to stay in control.  Moments later, he put Punk into a surfboard submission, then turned it into another move similar to a guillotine.  Punk refused to tap out though.

With Punk already down on the mat near the corner, Bryan rushed from across the ring several times to drop a big knee on his back.  Punk moved away on the third try and then hit a suplex into a pinfall attempt with Bryan kicking out.  Bryan hit a huge diving headbutt later on from way across the ring off the corner.  Somehow, Punk kicked out of the pin attempt though.

Punk made a comeback with a barrage of punches and kicks, followed by a huge scoop slam for a near fall.  Both guys reset after Bryan kicked out.  There was another spot on the outside where both guys crashed to the floor.  Back in the ring, Bryan had control and kept yelling "Yes" as he kicked Punk.  However, Punk managed to put him into a figure four moments later.  Bryan managed to grab the bottom rope.  Several near falls ensued.

Bryan went for the Yes Lock but Punk avoided that.  However, Bryan kicked him in the head to KO him.  He took a moment to gather Punk up for the pinfall, but Punk barely kicked out.  The fans started up a "This is Awesome" chant for the match.  There was another great spot moments later with Bryan crotched on the side top rope, and Punk landing a huge clothesline from the corner to take him down for another near fall.

Punk fought over the Yes Lock, then catapulted Bryan over the top rope.  Bryan hung on for dear life and skinned the cat to pull himself back in.  Punk collected a pinfall but Bryan got a leg on the ropes to break it.

Punk avoided Bryan's double knees in the corner, then came back with his own running knee on him.  Bryan somehow managed to get Punk down into the Yes Lock from there.  Punk managed to shift his weight back though and pinned Bryan's shoulders to the mat.  Cole said it appeared Punk was tapping out at the same time though.  They showed the replay, and it confirmed Punk tapped a second after the pinfall count was done.  Punk is still champion.


Winner: CM Punk wins by pinfall over Daniel Bryan to retain the WWE Championship.

Backstage, Eve and David Otunga were walking when they came up to Teddy Long. Long joked about how they could both be fired by the end of the night. He said he had to go make sure Mr. Laurinaitis has enough protein for tonight's match.

Hunico arrived out on a bike driven by Camacho. Hunico cut a promo in Spanish about something.

Ryback vs. Camacho

Ryback dominated this matchup throughout, like his previous contests.  He finished Camacho in the end with a slam from the torture rack position.  Post-match, Ryback left the ring and knocked over Hunicos bicycle on the outside of the ring.  He yelled at a fan "do you want more?!?"

Winner: Ryback defeated Camacho via pinfall.

John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis

If any WWE superstar or diva gets involved in this match, they will be fired. If John Laurinaitis loses, he is fired.  The only way to win is by pinfall or submission.  Laurinaitis arrived out first in a special People Power warmup suit with "GM" written on front.


Laurinaitis tried to hightail it and leave the ring as the bell ring.  He went to jump into the crowd, but Cena ran him down and grabbed him.  Cena brought JL back in the ring and clotheslined him hard after shaking his head.  Cena put JL's top over his head and then slapped his chest hard.

Cena set up for the AA but instead did an airplane spin, then dropped JL to the mat in a heap.  Laurinaitis stood up and fell out through the ropes.  Cena went over and grabbed the bell, then walked over and clanked it in his ears on both sides of his head.  Cena slammed JL's head into the commentators table multiple times with Cole asking "are you OK?"

Cena brought Laurinaitis over to the Spanish commentators table and put JL in one seat with a headset on.  Cena sat next to  him and put a headset on, then pretended he was Michael Cole.  He said "Vintage Laurinaitis" several times,, then asked Booker what he thought.  JL responded "five time, five time" then fell out of the chair.  Back in the ring, Cena hit a huge slam on JL.  He rushed out of the ring and grabbed a mic.

Cena announced on the mic he was about to put JL in the STF.  He said if JL taps out he's fired.  Cena said he'll let go of the hold if JL can last for 10 seconds.  Cena asked the people to count along, and JL survived 10 seconds.  Cena got on the mic saying good news is JL made it, and bad news is he's going to do it again.  Crowd counted along this time and once again JL survived it.

Cena went out of the ring again and grabbed a bottled water to pour it on JL's face and then on his crotch area.  Cena left the ring and grabbed a fire extinguisher from under the ring.  He teased using it several times, then started to spray Laurinaitis in the corner til he left the ring covered in the stuff.

On the outside, Cena grabbed a trash can and dumped it all over Laurinaitis.  JL tried to run into the crowd but Cena chased him down again. This time, JL hit Cena's hurt arm and Cena flinched looking hurt.  From there, JL smashed Cena's arm against the commentary table then against the steel steps.

In the ring, JL used a chair for multiple shots on Cena.  He collected a pinfall but cena kicked out at two.  JL went for another chair shot, but Cena blocked it and grabbed the chair to smash JL in the leg.  He set up for Five Knuckle Shuffle and used a steel chair for it.  Cena was about to go for AA, but JL hit a low blow.  From there, JL started to leave through the crowd with Cena still down in the ring.  Fans booed him as he walked past.  Cena remained in the ring as Laurinaitis started to head out of the arena, according to Cole.

Cena looked confused in the ring about what's going on.  Suddenly, the crowd started to cheer as Big Show showed up in street clothes forcefully escorting Laurinaitis.  He brought him out and tossed him over the crowd barrier, then brought JL into the ring with Cena smirking.  Cena waited for Laurinaitis to get up, seeing Big Show on the other side of him.  JL tried to crawl away, but Big Show stepped on his hand.

Cena went after JL who ran the other way, only to have Big Show grab him by the throat.  He looked menancingly at JL who shoved him to Cena.  Cena picked up JL for the AA, but Big Show hit the WMD punch on Cena.  Show backed into the corner looking at both guys.  Cole said Cena looks unconscious.  Laurinaitis crawled over and did his best to push Cena over for a pinfall.  He covered and the ref counted 1-2-3 to give him the match.  Show watched from the corner with a strange look in his eyes.  Fans looked shocked from the ringside area.

Show walked over looking down at Laurinaitis, then offered him a hand to get up.  Show held up Laurinaitis' hand up, then left the ring.  JL stumbled up the ramp as the PPV closed with Cole saying he can't wait until Raw tomorrow.


Winner: John Laurinaitis wins via pinfall over John Cena.

2012 Over the Limit Live Viewing Details

Sunday brings the 2012 Over the Limit Pay-Per-View live from Raleigh, North Carolina.  The latest event has a full card including the big match between John Cena and John Laurinaitis, as well as a WWE championship bout between Daniel Bryan and CM Punk.

There will be a WWE Over the Limit 2012 live stream of the Pay-Per-View offered online for a charge by WWE.  This will work on either PC's or Macs, and has a similar charge to the standard format PPV on cable or satellite TV.  All matches are presented live via WWE's feed, which will require fans to sign up for an account before purchasing.

For television viewing, fans can order OTL on various providers including DISH, DirecTV, Comcast, Verizon FIOS, and many others.  The Pay-Per-View will be offered in both standard and high definition formats for varying costs.

Also, WWE Blast Areas will be available in various states across the nation.  These areas are restaurants or bars which will be carrying the Over The Limit Pay-Per-View free of charge for patrons.  Check the WWE website for more information on the nearest locations in your area.

WWE Over the Limit begins at 8 pm on Sunday, May 20th.  Also note a free Over the Limit live match will be shown on YouTube starting at 7:30 PM EST, with Zack Ryder vs. Kane.

WWE Over the Limit 2012 Free Live Stream Match

WWE announced earlier this week that it will provide a free 2012 Over the Limit live streaming match via their YouTube channel on Sunday night.  This keeps with the theme of giving fans a free pre-show match prior to Pay-Per-Views, which WWE has done for the past several events.  At the last Pay-Per-View, fans got to see The Miz vs. Santino Marella for the United States Championship, and for Wrestlemania 28 it was a free live stream of a Triple Threat tag team title match.

The special free pre-show match for Over the Limit will feature Zack Ryder vs. Kane.  These two have been involved in altercations before, but mostly with Kane getting the best of Ryder and sending him to the ER as part of Kane's feud with John Cena.  Ryder was seen getting involved in the John Cena vs. Kane match several Pay-Per-Views ago, backstage.

Now these two will meet up again, but as part of a dark match, which is being billed as a pre-show match.  It will be live streaming free this Sunday at some time after 7:30PM EST when the Over the Limit pre-show begins.  The match will be seen on WWE's official YouTube channel, WWEFanNation.

Smackdown Results 05/18/12

WWE Smackdown Results from Hershey, PA:

John Laurinaitis arrived out to start the show, saying he disagreed with the Board's decision about his match stipulations against John Cena.  He asked for fan support and drew boos, so he said he wanted them to say a prayer tonight.  CM Punk came out to confront Laurinaitis talking about how the fans did pray and their prayers will be answered Sunday when John Cena beats him and gets him fired.  He brought up all the bad stuff JL's done, and said he's now on the other side of the stick.  Laurinaitis told Punk he's still GM so tonight he's booking him to face Kane.  Punk said he still respects Kane.  He added that next week he'll still be champ and JL will be in the unemployment line.

Punk left the ring and JL complained about the fans being responsible for how Cena and Punk act.  He told the fans they could all go to hell.  Laurinaitis dropped the mic and left the ring, with the announce team talking over what just happened.

R-Truth and Kofi Kingston defeated Darren Young and Titus O'Neil by pinfall.  The match lasted about three minutes, with the heels trying to isolate Kofi.  Kofi escaped from O'Neil with a kick move, and R-Truth hit the Pay Dirt on Darren Young for the win.

Damien Sandow made an entrance for a match against Yoshi Tatsu.  However, Sandow got on the mic to cut a promo about how he's there to set the WWE Universe free from "our chains of ignorance."  He also said Yoshi is an unworthy opponent for him so he won't be wrestling tonight.  Sandow left, and Yoshi got on the mic to call him a chicken making chicken noises.  As Yoshi went to give the mic back to someone near ringside, Sandow took off his robe and rushed back to the ring to attack him.

Matt Striker interviewed Sheamus and Randy Orton backstage about their upcoming Fatal Fourway match.  They each cut a promo saying how they used to have the flaws the other currently has.  Sheamus said he could kick one of his opponents right now, but won't because he's a nice guy.  Orton got into Sheamus' face and told him he's a nice guy and they know where they finish.

Daniel Bryan defeated Zack Ryder by submission.  Late in the match, Ryder went for the Broski Boot, but Bryan got a drop toe hold and a kick on him.  He followed with the Yes Lock to secure the win making Ryder tap out.

Kane defeated CM Punk due to disqualification.  Daniel Bryan was ringside for the match with the commentary team.  Late in the match, Punk was grabbed around the throat by Kane.  However, Punk did a roundhouse kick and knocked Kane out of the ring.  Punk dove out to crash down on Kane in front of Bryan and the announce team.  Bryan grabbed a chair and prepared to hit Punk but hit Kane instead.  Bryan rushed off and Punk grabbed the chair.  Kane saw Punk holding the chair and attacked him. Kane smashed the chair on Punk multiple times and then brought him into the ring for a couple chokeslams.

Santino Marella defeated Cody Rhodes by pinfall.  The match lasted just about two minutes and saw Santino do his split move to duck Cody's late clothesline attempt.  Santino wore The Cobra sock and hit his finisher for the win.

Sheamus defeated Randy Orton by pinfall.  Late in the match, Orton hit his DDT from the middle rope with Sheamus.  He went for the RKO, but Sheamus and Orton kept reversing each others' moves.  Finally, Sheamus managed to score a surprise roll-up to win it.

Post-match saw Orton smirking about the loss.  Sheamus and Orton talked things over a bit in the ring, before Orton offered a handshake.  Sheamus shook and Orton hit him with the RKO to end the show.

Possible Over The Limit Spoilers on Raw

With last night's episode of Raw, two particular events happened which could factor into Sunday's Over The Limit results.  These involve some potential spoilers and rumors floating around, so please stop reading if this might ruin the Pay-Per-View.

First up, we saw Big Show get fired during the episode.  This came after several different instances where Show was in the ring with John Laurinaitis and Eve, between Raw and Smackdown.  It was all over the fact Big Show mocked Laurinaitis.  Despite all the apologies Show made, Johnny still wished him "best of luck" in his future endeavors.  So with that Big Show is gone, right?

Not so fast.  Something else happened at the end of Raw, with the announcement of the stipulations for John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis.  Eve brought out a piece of paper from the Board of Directors which said there can be no special guest referee, and no involvement from any other superstars in the match.  If any superstars on the WWE roster get involved, they will be terminated, immediately.

With Big Show already fired, it's looking like a possibility that he could show up at Over The Limit, make the heel turn, and allow John Laurinaitis to win this match against Cena.  If not Big Show, maybe Brock Lesnar, but that seems far fetched at this point.

The other possibility seems to be in the Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk WWE Championship match.  On Raw, Bryan's former girlfriend, AJ came up to talk to Punk.  However, Punk noted she seems rather unstable lately, and that seemed to bother AJ, as expected.  So could this mean some interference by AJ in Sunday's WWE championship match?  She may just attempt to help Bryan in a last-ditched effort to win him back!

Those are just two interesting developments which came about on Monday's episode of Raw.  There's been murmurs about the Big Show firing and spoilers of him getting involved in Over The Limit.  Some hate the idea, while others say it just makes sense now.  What do you think of these potential spoilers and results?  Will John Laurinaitis and Daniel Bryan be victorious on Sunday?

Raw Results 05/14/12

Raw Results from Pittsburgh, PA:

Triple H entered the arena with his arm brace on.  John Laurinaitis was waiting for him and said he didn't realize Lesnar would do that to him, he said Hunter has his sympathy.  Laurinaitis asked HHH if he had anything to say, and Triple H said he would say it in front of the world.  He wished Laurinaitis good luck with Cena on Sunday.

Out in the arena, Triple H talked about how offended he and other members of the WWE legends are with Lesnar's conduct.  He talked about how Lesnar wasn't legitimizing anything.  HHH was eventually interrupted by Paul Heyman who served Triple H with papers saying he owes Lesnar millions per the contract that HHH breached when he ripped it up.  Triple H threw the papers back at Heyman after pushing him to a corner and said Lesnar will get all he deserves.  Heyman told Lesnar he'll be suing him for assault and battery next.

C.M. Punk and Santino Marella defeated Daniel Bryan and Cody Rhodes by pinfall.  Late in the match, Punk taunted a kick move on Daniel Bryan. Bryan fled from the scene.  Later, Cody Rhodes avoided The Cobra from Santino, but Punk got him with the GTS and scored the win.  Post-match, Bryan stared at Punk from the ramp.

Beth Phoenix defeated Alicia Fox by pinfall.  Phoenix hit the Glam Slam after about a minute or so to finish off Alicia.  Layla watched from the ramp.  Beth went to attack Alicia more post-match, but Layla rushed down to chase her off.

Kane defeated Big Show by pinfall.  John Laurinaitis and David Otunga were ringside.  At one point, JL got up and started demanding Show apologize.  That distraction helped Kane deliver a chokeslam for the win.

Post-match, Laurinaitis got into the ring and kept demanding a more sincere apology from Show.  Show talked about how long he's been in this business and finally got on his knees to beg Laurinaitis.  At one point he was in tears.  Despite all of the apologies and talk, Laurinaitis told Show from the top of the ramp "I wish you best in your future endeavors," firing Big Show.

R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, and Brodus Clay defeated The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, and Jack Swagger by pinfall.  The close saw Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise on The Miz, and then Brodus Clay hit his huge splash for the win.  Post-match, he brought his dancers and some kids into the ring to dance.

Backstage, CM Punk was talking with Alex Riley.  AJ walked up and Riley left.  AJ wished Punk good luck this weekend.  Punk told AJ she's been pretty unstable lately.  AJ looked unhappy with that remark.

Chris Jericho defeated Randy Orton by DQ.  Sheamus was on commentary during the match.  At one point, Jericho and Orton were fighting on the outside and Jericho tossed Orton into Sheamus, knocking him out of his chair.  As Jericho put Orton back in the ring and went to get in, Sheamus yanked Jericho out of the ring, causing a DQ for Orton.  Post-match, Sheamus and Orton nearly went at it in the ring, with The Viper angry that Sheamus cost him a win.  Referees intervened to prevent a fight.

The closing segment had John Laurinaitis come to the ring to talk about how he's a winner, and the world needs losers like Cena and all his fans.  He said that helps him to be a winner.  Laurinaitis kept ranting until Cena came out to interrupt.  He talked about how JL is a loser.  There were references to the local teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.

At one point, Eve came to the ring and handed a piece of paper to JL.  Cena snatched it away to read it.  It said their match on Sunday is a one-on-one match, no special guest referee, and no one is allowed ringside.  If any superstars intervene, they'll be immediately terminated.  Cena said if Laurinaitis loses the match he'll be fired.

Cena asked Laurinaitis what his big announcement he had was.  Laurinaitis walked over and slapped Cena in the face before leaving the ring.

Raw Preview 05/13/12

Last week's episode of Raw saw more of the John Laurinaitis "People Power," as the General Manager continued to flex his corporate muscles.  Laurinaitis had attacked John Cena just a week prior, and informed the injured star that they'll be fighting at the Over The Limit Pay-Per-View.  Cena appeared live via satellite for last week's show to let everyone know he may be down, and hurt, but he's going to make sure he shows up to compete at OTL.  Will John Cena show up for tonight's episode of Raw?  If he does, what will his boss have in store for him?

Last week also saw WWE champion CM Punk face Daniel Bryan and Lord Tensai in a 2-on-1 handicap match.  The finish of the match saw Tensai put Punk down using his claw grip for a pinfall.  The aftermath saw Punk's future OTL opponent, Daniel Bryan, slap on the Yes! Lock to punish the champion even more.  Bryan has been boldly stating in recent times that he will become WWE champion at Over The Limit.  Will CM Punk have a response for Bryan on tonight's episode of Raw?

And finally, it seems like a trying time for The Big Show.  On last week's edition of Raw, he made the mistake of mocking his boss John Laurinaitis.  That brought Eve to the ring to chastise him and force an apology.  Laurinaitis further called out Big Show on Smackdown and told him he'll give another public apology on Raw.  Will Big Show humble and humiliate himself in front of the boss again, or will he have something else to say?

Smackdown Results 05/11/12

Smackdown results from Roanoke, VA:

The show opened with a recap of the big tag match on Raw this past week involving Orton, Jericho, Sheamus and Del Rio.  The match result and aftermath led to a Fatal Fourway being scheduled for Over The Limit PPV.

Sheamus and Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio resulted in a no contest.  Late in the match,  Orton went for an RKO on Jericho who was able to avoid it.  It ended up with all four men brawling in the ring, and eventually Jericho and Del Rio escaped up the ramp.  Sheamus and Orton had a stare down with each other.

The commentators discussed what happened before break and updated fans that Jericho vs Sheamus, and Orton vs. Del Rio have been scheduled for the show tonight.

AJ defeated Kaitlyn by pinfall in about 30 seconds after hitting a clothesline and a flying knee.  The win came after the two divas fought each other on the mat, rolling around and having a catfight.  Post-fight, AJ kept beating up Kaitlyn, and Daniel Bryan's music hit.  He came to the ring and commented on how he is seeing AJ in a completely different light now.  He said after he wins the WWE title at OTL, he's moving on - to Kaitlyn.  He laughed about it, and AJ got a crazy look on her face before storming off.

Daniel Bryan defeated Big Show by submission.  Late in the match, Bryan managed to take out Big Show's knee.  He made a ground attack on Show and locked in the Yes Lock.  John Laurinaitis was there and called for the bell to award Bryan the match.  Post-match, Laurinaitis gave Show a dressing down, asking him if he thought what he said on Raw was funny.  Show said no.  Laurinaitis reminded him there's not much other work for a 40-year-old freak.  He said on Raw, Big Show will give him a real apology.  Laurinaitis then went to the top of the stage and vowed to defeat John Cena at OTL, and shake WWE to the foundation.

Ryback defeated Heath Slater by pinfall.  Another quick victory for Ryback, who hit a powerslam, and big clothesline, followed by his Samoan Drop finisher.

Antonio Cesaro defeated Alex Riley by pinfall.  Teddy Long was required to make the ring intro's.  Cesaro won after hitting a European Uppercut and then his piledriver finisher move.  Post-match, Aksana got on the mic to remind Teddy she and him are just friends how.  She said she and Antonio are lovers though and kissed him.

Randy Orton defeated Alberto Del Rio due to disqualification.  Late in the match, Del Rio went for the cross armbreaker on Orton.  Orton managed to avoid that, and set up for the RKO.  Ricardo Rodriguez jumped off the corner turnbuckle at him and got hit by the RKO, with the ref calling for the bell.  Post-match, Del Rio tossed Orton shoulder-first into the ring post, then put the cross arm breaker on him for a bit.

R-Truth defeated Jack Swagger by pinfall.  Prior to the match, Josh Matthews announced Swagger and Ziggler will challenge Kofi and Truth for the tag titles at OTL.  During this match, Ziggler got hit by Truth on the outside, and then Kofi did a flying forearm on him.  Swagger hit a move on Truth, but Truth punched him back from the apron.  Kingston hit Trouble in Paradise on the outside, and then Truth hit the Little Jimmy on Swagger for the big win.

Titus O'Neil and Darren Young defeated Santino Marella and Zack Ryder by pinfall.  Late in the match, Young hit a clothesline on Ryder and tagged in Titus.  They hit their doubleteam move of a Demolition backbreaker and Elbow drop combo.  Post-match, the heels got on the mic to announce they will become the next tag champs, saying the difference between them and the other teams is "Millions of Dollars."

Damien Sandow was interviewed backstage by Matt Striker.  He apologized for his vernacular possibly confusing Striker last week.  He said he is there to expose all the false idols of the WWE.  Sandow said he represents the sword that will redeem the WWE's taste and decency.  He told Striker the interview was now over and "You're Welcome."

Brodus Clay defeated Hunico by pinfall.  He withstood an attack before the bell by Hunico and Camacho, then got to his feet.  He hit a huge headbutt on Hunico, then knocked Camacho off the apron as he tried to distract.  From there, Brodus hit the T-Bone suplex and his big splash to collect the win.

Chris Jericho defeated Sheamus due to disqualification in a non-title match.  The main event saw Jericho put Sheamus into the Walls of Jericho towards the end of the bout.  However, Sheamus got to the ropes and was able to toss Jericho out of the ring.  Del Rio came out and grabbed Jericho, then tossed him into the steps.  Del Rio got into the ring and locked Sheamus into the cross armbreaker, but Orton came in and broke things up.
Sheamus and Orton had a face off, with Jericho sneaking into the ring and hitting the Codebreaker on Del Rio.  Orton RKO'd Jericho, and then Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick on Jericho.  Sheamus and Orton stared at one another as Smackdown signed off.

Over The Limit 2012 to Include Fatal Fourway Match

The upcoming Over The Limit 2012 matches are continuing to form, as several more were announced this past Monday.  Among them will be a Divas Championship match pitting Beth Phoenix against current champion Layla, and a Fatal Fourway match which will determine the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, currently held by Sheamus.

In the match, Sheamus will defend his championship against three competitors deemed by John Laurinaitis as worthy opponents.  They will be #1 contender Alberto Del Rio, Chris Jericho, and "The Viper" Randy Orton.  All three of these guys layed claim to being the deserving guy to get the title shot, so Laurinaitis decided they were all right.

Technically the decision seems kind of strange, although Orton and Jericho needed something to do at the Pay-Per-View.  Speaking of that, it's looking like maybe Daniel Bryan and Del Rio are switching places on their respective Smackdown and Raw rosters, or that maybe WWE really doesn't care about this so much anymore.  After all, where is the 2012 WWE Draft, featuring matches on Raw to determine which brand gets a draft pick?

This should be an interesting situation, as it could either give Sheamus more credibility as current champion when he is able to defeat three opponents, or give one of the heel winners an easy win.  There were rumors before that WWE planned to give Del Rio a big push and return to championship form upon his return from injury, so don't be surprised if Alberto leaves OTL with the title.

Raw Results 05/07/12

Raw Results from Greensboro, NC:

Raw opened with a video recap of last week's attack and beatdown by John Laurinaitis, Lord Tensai, and Sakimoto on John Cena.  Laurinaitis arrived out after the video to address the people from the ring.

He said he will not allow anyone to challenge his authority or leadership skills, including John Cena, who publicly humiliated him last week.  JL said he lost his temper, and when that happens he goes into a fit of destruction that nobody can withstand.  He added he has not been reprimanded by the Board of Directors because they understand he's tough, but fair.

He said Cena won't be there tonight, so he can do therapy on his elbow, so at OTL he has no excuse when he's defeated.  JL added that Michael Cole will interview John Cena live via satellite and apologize for making fun of his voice last week.  JL said if anyone makes fun of his voice again, they'll suffer severe consequences.  He said he was injured by Dr. Death Steve Williams in Japan, causing his voice to be like this.  He had slideshow photos shown from his older wrestling days when hew as a champion repeatedly.

JL talked about how for one night only, it will be Cena vs. Big Johnny at Over the Limit PPV.  He finished by saying God bless everyone for People Power, in the arena, and God have mercy on John Cena.  CM Punk's music hit and he came to the ring to speak.  Punk said for being the brains behind People Power, JL doesn't seem to know what the people want.  He said what the WWE Universe doesn't want to see, is John Laurinaitis.

Punk went on about how nobody wanted to pay to see Laurinaitis wrestle, so he went to Japan.  Punk said he was a joke then, and is still a joke.  Punk said he's going to watch John Cena beat John Laurinaitis at the PPV.  Punk continued to berate Laurinaitis, causing JL to book Punk to fight against Lord Tensai tonight.  Punk said he saw that coming because Laurinaitis seems to like hiding behind talented big men.  He said he looks forward to tonight's challenge and to seeing John Cena twist him into a pretzel at OTL.


Laurinaitis was seen texting backstage when he bumped into someone and saw it was Big Show.  He started yelling at Show telling him to get out of the way when his boss was walking through.  Laurinaitis called Show stupid, then walked off texting.  Show began mocking JL's voice and then Eve showed up.  She eyed Show disapprovingly.  He shot a glare back and then left to go out to the arena.

Big Show defeated Cody Rhodes by countout in an Intercontinental Championship match.  Late in the match, Show threw Rhodes across the ring, then got ready for the WMD punch.  Rhodes was up then rolled out of the ring.  He grabbed his belt from Justin Roberts and tried to leave, with Show heading him off.  He tossed Cody back in the ring, but Rhodes escaped out the other side and headed up the ramp.

Show got on the mic, post-match telling Cody not to take the cowardly way out.  Just then, Eve's music hit and she came to ring demanding an apology from Show for mocking Laurinaitis' voice earlier.  Show said "I'm sorry," but Eve wasn't satisfied and berated Show telling him to "apologize."  Show humbled himself and made more of an apology, with Eve smiling about it as he left the ring.

R-Truth and Kofi Kingston arrived out for Kofi's match against Dolph Ziggler.  Michael Ealy and Warren Kole of the new USA show "Common Law" were show in the front row at Raw.

Abraham Washington was shown backstage watching the Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler match along with Rosa Mendes, Primo and Epico.  The camera revealed Mason Ryan standing nearby to watch, with AW eyeing him up and down.  Cole said he heard AW is trying to sign any talent he can find in WWE right now.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston by pinfall.  Late in the match, there was a commotion with Truth getting on the apron and the ref reprimanding him.  Meanwhile, Kofi was on the corner for a high risk move and Jack Swagger yanked his leg, causing Kofi to hit face first on the mat.  Ziggler followed with ZigZag for the win.

They showed John Cena backstage in a sling talking with a WWE staff guy holding a water bottle.

Michael Cole got into the ring and conducted an interview with John Cena via satellite.  Cena said he's having to get his elbow drained each week.  Cena said there are some doctors suggesting he shouldn't compete in the next few months.  Cena said he doesn't care if he has his arm removed, nothing will keep him from competing at Over The Limit.  Cena also said the Board of Directors contacted him.  He said he told them not to fire Laurinaitis until after he kicks his ass at Over The Limit.  Cole suggested that maybe Cena is scared of Mr. Laurinaitis.  Cena laughed it off saying he's scared that Laurinaitis will hurt himself before he can get his hands on him.  Cena vowed to kick John Laurinaitis' ass in 13 days at Over The Limit.

Kelly Kelly and Layla were shown walking backstage on their way out for the next match.

Kelly Kelly and Layla defeated Maxine and Natalya by pinfall.  Beth Phoenix joined Cole and Lawler for commentary on the divas tag match.  Late in the match, Layla was in control against Maxine.  Natalya got on the apron to distract, but Kelly rushed around the side of the ring and yanked her off to the floor.  Meanwhile, Layla hit her finisher the Lay Out for the win.  Post-match, Layla and Kelly celebrated the win, with Beth standing up from commentary to stare at Layla.  Beth takes on Layla at Over the Limit for the Divas title.

They rolled a YouTube video clip to promote "Santino's Foreign Exchange" with Cole plugging it as one of WWE's many new original online video shows.

Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio defeated Sheamus and Randy Orton by pinfall.  Late in the match, Orton came in to fight and hit the RKO on Del Rio, causing him to roll out of the ring.  Jericho and Sheamus were legal, with Jericho about to sneak up on Orton.  Sheamus was behind Jericho and went for a Brogue Kick with Jericho ducking and Orton getting kicked instead.  Jericho followed up with a Codebreaker on Sheamus for the win.

Post-match, Sheamus went over and helped Orton up.  With Orton  trying to brush him off.  Orton suddenly hit the RKO on Sheamus to lay out Sheamus face first on the mat.

Backstage, Laurinaitis was talking to Eve about how insincere Big Show's apology was in the ring.  Chris Jericho came in to the picture as Eve left.  Jericho said he should get a title shot for defeating Sheamus tonight.  Del Rio came in saying he should get one.  Orton came in suggesting he deserves one.  A brawl started up with Sheamus coming in and getting involved.  Laurinaitis told them to stop it.  Sheamus and Orton got into each other's face about what happened in the ring.  Orton put Sheamus on notice he's coming after his title.  Sheamus told him to bring it any time.  Laurinaitis pulled Sheamus aside saying he's gonna make the World Heavyweight Championship match at OTL a Fatal Fourway.

They had a previously-recorded video message from Brodus reminding everyone to "call your momma" for Mother's Day this Sunday.  The Miz arrived out asking "Really? I have to go against this and not compete for the WWE championship."  Miz told Brodus to call his momma and tell her "I'm The Miz and I'm awesome!"

Brodus Clay defeated The Miz by pinfall.  Miz had control after Brodus chased him away from his dancers outside the ring.  Brodus went to get back in the ring after Miz but Miz was ready to attack.  He held the advantage from there and hit multiple moves on Brodus.  However Miz went for a move from the corner, and Brodus caught him then tossed him overhead.  Brodus finished with the Ah Funk It for the win.  Naomi and Cameron rushed into the ring to celebrate the victory by dancing.

They showed a replay of the incidents from last week where Triple H came to the ring to confront Brock Lesnar with John Laurinaitis standing by.  Triple H said that WWE won't be bowing down to Lesnar's demands, which upset Brock, causing him to attack HHH from behind and snap his arm.

Michael Cole said HHH suffered severe tendon and ligament damage in his elbow.  Lawler added that HHH will require surgery for his arm.  They said he has to wear a special mechanical arm brace, but is still able to conduct business as COO.  They said next week HHH will speak live on Raw.

Cole said Brock Lesnar sent his legal representatives to give an update on his situation.  Lesnar's music hit, ut Brock didn't arrive out.  Instead Paul Heyman came down to the ring and announced he is the representative for Brock Lesnar, the most destructive force in WWE.  Heyman discussed the verbal demands that Lesnar made and that were agreed to on live TV, meaning there's plenty of witnesses.  Heyman said Brock Lesnar feels betrayed by the WWE Universe and that he isn't getting the respect he deserves.  The speech ended with Heyman reading a statement from Brock which said he doesn't regret what he did to Cena, and doesn't care about Triple H, or the people.  He said "I, Brock Lesnar, am never coming back.  Because, I, Bbrock Lesnar, quit."  Heyman threw the mic aside and left the ring.

Big Show was shown backstage having a conversation with the actors from the new USA show.  They said they're investigators and will find out who Laurinaitis has photos of allowing him to keep his job.  They kept joking around, with Show laughing about it all.  When he turned around, Eve was standing there.

Lord Tensai and Daniel Bryan defeated CM Punk in a handicap match.  Late in the match, Sakamoto started arguing with the ref, allowing Bryan to trip Punk down.  Tensai then was able to slam Punk.  He spit green mist onto his hand before applying his claw hold on Punk, slamming him to the mat for a pinfall.  Post-match, Bryan did his "Yes! Yes! Yes!" chants at ringside.  Post-match, Bryan put the Yes! Lock on Punk to cause more injury to him.  Raw closed out after this.

Raw Preview 05/07/12

Tonight's Raw comes one week after several heinous attacks were perpetrated against top WWE superstars.  In the opening segment last week, Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis called down his top star, Brock Lesnar, to compliment him on a great fight at Extreme Rules.  Despite Brock losing, it looked like Laurinaitis was still giving Brock the "face of the WWE" title.  However, WWE COO Triple H came to the ring to disagree, and told Lesnar they would not bow in to his previous demands.  This clearly upset Lesnar, who proceeded to attack and injur Triple H's arm.  The latest reports indicated the WWE COO would need surgery for the injury.  Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar's status with WWE is in limbo.  Will he be officially fired on Monday Night, or will John Laurinaitis reinstate Brock?

Also attacked on last Monday's show was an already-injured John Cena.  Cena had his arm in a sling after fighting Brock Lesnar the night before at Extreme Rules.  While Cena came up on the winning end of the match, he did suffer several injuries, including his left arm due to Lesnar's MMA arm hold.  Later in the night, John Laurinaitis came to the ring where Cena was to announce his next Pay-Per-View opponent.  Laurinaitis seemed to reveal that Cena would be fighting Lord Tensai.  However, as Tensai and his assistant Sakimoto surrounded Cena, it was Laurinaitis who hit Cena from behind, and later smashed a steel chair on Cena's injured arm.  Laurinaitis also announced he will be Cena's opponent at Over the Limit.  What will John Cena have to say regarding this attack and upcoming match?  Will he be present on Raw?

WWE Raw also saw the crowning of new tag team champions, as the team of R-Truth and Kofi Kingston were able to defeat Primo and Epico in a match.  The duo had a successful match on Smackdown as well as they took on Hunico and Camacho in tag action.  During that match, the former champs Primo and Epico, along with Rosa Mendes and talent manager Abraham Washington were all watching.  What does AW have in store for the current tag champs?  Will he be signing the former champs to a deal and help them regain their glory?

WWE Smackdown Results 05/04/12

WWE Smackdown Results from Toledo, OH:

The show opened with Josh Matthews welcoming fans to the show.  He was joined on commentary by Michael Cole and Booker.  Cole brought up a bunch of recent developments from Raw that would be discussed on tonight's show.

Sheamus defeated Daniel Bryan due to disqualification.  Late in the match, Sheamus gained control of things.  He almost lost it with the referee but gained his composure and tossed Bryan to the outside.  Suddenly, Sheamus got hit by a surprise high cross body from Ricardo Rodriguez.  That led to Alberto Del Rio locking his Cross Armbar on Sheamus.  Moments later, he gave it up, and Daniel Bryan put on the Yes Lock.  Bryan eventually released the hold and Sheamus crawled up the ramp.  Bryan and Del Rio argued over things in the ring.

R-Truth and Kofi Kingston defeated Hunico and Comacho by pinfall in a non-title match.  Late in the match, Kofi made the hot tag to Truth who came in like a wrecking ball.  At one point, Truth helped tossed Kofi over his head onto Hunico.  Kofi hit a headscissors to toss Hunico out through the ropes.  Comacho tried to attack Truth, but he did his breakdance split to avoid his strike, then connected with the Little Jimmy for the win.  Abraham Washington was on stage with Rosa Mendes, Primo and Epico watching the whole match.  He held them off from going down to the ring post-match.

Brodus Clay defeated Jack Swagger by countout.  Clay had control late in the match and was about to do his running splash move.  Swagger rolled out of the ring wanting no part of the finisher.  Vickie and Dolph retreated with him up the ramp leading to the countout.  Post-match, Clay and his Funkettes did their dancing in the ring with some kids from the audience.

The commentators fed to a video highlight package of what John Laurinaitis did to John Cena on Raw this past Monday with the help of Lord Tensai and his assistant.  Michael Cole said JL isn't even there to run Smackdown tonight, saying he took a personal day.

Daniel Bryan and Del Rio were quarreling backstage over Sheamus and whether or not they should face him.  Eve was there on behalf of Laurinaitis and said she would make a decision on whether or not Sheamus can compete after the ringside physicians check him out.  She ordered both guys to leave her office.

Damien Sandow made his debut on Smackdown with Hallelujah as his theme music.  Lilian Garcia announced him as the "Intellectual Savior of the Masses."  Derrick Bateman was his chosen opponent.  Sandow cut a promo saying he was not going to compete with the likes of an ignoramus like Bateman for the entertainment of all the people.  Sandow left and headed backstage.  Bateman got on the mic to talk about how he earned this spot by winning on NXT.  He said he wants a match now, so Ryback came out from backstage.

Ryback defeated Derrick Bateman by pinfall.  Bateman tried to get an early attack in, but it was shortlived.  Ryback flattened him with a big boot.  Later, Bateman tried to jump on Ryback's back to put a hold on  him.  Ryback dropped to the mat and hit a jawbreaker.  He followed with a huge clothesline and then his finisher with Bateman up on his shoulders, slamming him to the mat.  There were chants of "Goldberg" during the match.

Big Show and Randy Orton defeated Kane and Cody Rhodes by pinfall. Late in the match, all chaos broke out as Show was preparing a chokeslam on Rhodes.  Kane flew off the corner and took down Big Show.  Orton came in and hit the RKO on Kane, but then Rhodes came in the ring and tossed Orton shoulder first into the corner ringpost.  The close saw Show take over though as he batted down Cody on a Beautiful Disaster kick attempt.  From there, Show revved up his WMD punch and KO'd Rhodes for the pinfall win.  Cole said that Show gets his Intercontinental Championship rematch this coming weekend/week at live WWE events.

Matt Striker was standing by outside of Sheamus' locker room saying he was going to get an update on his condition.  All of a sudden, Sheamus burst out through the door with his arm taped up.  Striker asked his condition and Sheamus said he came to fight tonight and that's what he's going to do.  Striker was surprised and said "the match is on!"


Layla defeated Natalya by pinfall in a non-title match.  Natalya had early control hitting big moves including a huge clothesline to level the champion.  However, Layla was able to roll through a pinfall move at the end and hit her finisher the "Lay Out" for the win.

Josh Matthews brought up that John Cena is a guest star on SyFy's "Dream Machines" this coming week.  They showed footage including behind the scenes from the upcoming episode.  The episode airs on Tuesday night at 10pm EST on SyFy.

Backstage, Aksana was having makeup put on.  Eve came in to direct a photo shoot.  The new wrestler Antonio came in for the photoshoot with Aksana all over him.  Eve said something didn't look right, and said Antonio needs some oil on him.  The makeup lady came over to apply it, then Eve told her not to.  She called Teddy in instead and ordered him to.  Teddy reluctantly rubbed oil on Antonio's back.  Aksana told Teddy he forgot the front, so Teddy slapped oil on Antonio's chest as well.


Alicia Fox and Kaitlyn were talking backstage when AJ came into the scene.  AJ said she can't believe what she did to her last week and can understand if she won't forgive her.  Kaitlyn said she felt betrayed last week when AJ slapped her.  AJ said that wasn't her.  Kaitlyn said she was just looking out for her, and she needs to stop this little pity party over Daniel Bryan.  AJ looked at her and then slapped her hard, causing Kaitlyn to fall to the ground.

They showed the Raw Rebound.  It focused on Brock Lesnar having an in-ring confrontation with WWE COO Triple H.  Lesnar ended up attacking Triple H from behind and locking in an arm hold to snap HHH's arm.

Alberto Del Rio arrived out with Ricardo Rodriguez introducing him.  Matthews said Del Rio came here tonight in a $185k Bentley 2-door coupe.  Cole recapped the earlier incident with Ricardo attacking Sheamus so Del Rio could put the Cross Armbreaker on him.  Del Rio joined the commentary team for the main event match.

Sheamus defeated Daniel Bryan by pinfall in a non-title match.  Throughout the match, Bryan kept attacking the taped-up injured shoulder of Sheamus.  Del Rio chuckled and laughed from ringside watching.  Despite Bryan having control, Sheamus reversed Bryan's attempt to throw him into the corner ringpost, and threw Bryan into it instead.  From there, Sheamus grabbed Bryan against the ropes from the apron and smashed his fist on Bryan's chest repeatedly.  He backed off for a moment, then repeated it again before suplexing Bryan back into the ring.

Sheamus set up for his Celtic Cross move on Bryan, but Del Rio got up from the commentators table and got onto the apron.  Bryan tried to attack Sheamus from behind, but Sheamus grabbed him and tossed him into the ropes causing Del Rio to fall over the top rope into the ring.  Sheamus went after Del Rio who rolled out of the ring and retreated up the ramp.  Meanwhile, Bryan tried to get up on the top rope and jump at Sheamus for a missile dropkick.  Sheamus was ready with the Brogue Kick for the big win.  Del Rio was shown seething up on the ramp with Ricardo Rodriguez as Sheamus hoisted up his championship belt from the ring.

Over The Limit 2012 Matches Set on Raw

As of the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, two matches have been set for the upcoming Over The Limit 2012 Pay-Per-View.  That event takes place on Sunday, May 20th, and will feature at least one major championship on the line, so far.

The championship match will have CM Punk defending the WWE Championship against challenger Daniel Bryan.  Bryan won a "Beat the Clock Challenge" held on Raw, by winning his match in the quickest time of all competitors.  Bryan's opponent was Jerry "The King" Lawler, whom he made tap out to the "Yes" Lock.  Other competitors in the tournament included The Miz, Santino Marella, Randy Orton, Kane, Great Khali, Chris Jericho, and The Big Show.

The other match that was set up on Raw involves John Cena.  He will be taking on his boss, John Laurinaitis, at Over the Limit 2012.  Cena received a thorough beatdown due to an in-ring attack by Laurinaitis, along with Lord Tensai and his assistant.  The trio attacked Cena's injured left arm which was already in a sling after being hurt the night before by Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules.

As of this report, there are no stipulations for either of these matches, but with several weeks to go before the event, it's possible something could be added.  Of note, the main event at the past two editions of this Pay-Per-View was an "I Quit" match for the WWE Championship, with Cena the champion in each of those.  His competitors were Batista in 2010, and The Miz in 2011.
Over the Limit 2012 is scheduled for May 20th and will take place live from Raleigh, North Carolina at the PNC Arena.

What's Up With WWE Diva Kharma?

Quite an interesting past few days with the Pay-Per-View results giving not much in terms of new champions or surprises. The WWE has had some good opportunities to really rev things up, but has failed to do so. One case in point may be WWE Diva Kharma.

Kharma is of course the former TNA Knockout champ, Awesome Kong. For weeks her role has been to interrupt matches on Raw or Smackdown or at PPV's. She's used her finisher on the likes of Eve Torres, Layla and one of the Bella Twins. Kharma was absent from the latest PPV, Over The Limit 2011 though.

Then came Raw. There was an 8 divas tag match involving Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, Eve Torres and Beth Phoenix against Melina, Maryse and The Bella Twins. Before the match was a minute or more underway, Kharma interrupted and headed to the ring looking to cause some damage.

Except she didn't do a thing really. She got in the ring, allowed herself to be surrounded by divas and then fell to her knees crying. It puzzled, the divas in the ring, a lot of viewers, and wrestling analysts as to what in the heck was going on. Was Kharma showing her vulnerabilities after weeks of superiority? She went from mighty force to be reckoned with all the way down to babbling baby.

When the Kelly Kelly vs Brie Bella match for OTL was put in place, it seemed like Kelly was destined to win the Divas championship. Karma's been eyeing her for weeks, so it made more sense that Kharma would defeat Kelly for the divas title rather than a heel, like Brie. However, Kelly lost at OTL and Kharma never showed up.

So what's up with Kharma? Over at Diva Dirt they ran a poll to have fans vote on what's going on. The popular choice is "It's all an act! She's lulling the Divas into a false sense of security. 47.71% (699 votes)." Coming in 2nd is "It's all an act! She's lulling the Divas into a false sense of security. 47.71% (699 votes)."

One of the comments there suggests that Karma felt ganged up on by "the pretty divas" similar to the pretty girls who used to make fun of her when she was younger. So it's very likely that's why she takes out aggression on pretty dolls and has been admiring Kelly Kelly. They may even become friends, but it just seems to defeat the whole point of weeks of decimating divas in the ring.

If anything, Kharma should've fought off the divas one by one, battle royal style, tossing them out over the ropes. Only problem is, Beth Phoenix seems like the one who could really give a good battle with "Awesome Kong" aka Kharma. Let's hope it's headed that way!

Over the Limit 2011 Results

Welcome to the 2011 WWE Over the Limit Pay-Per-View results, presented by WWE Characters the Blog. In the past, these results have been updated as matches end with full detail. Due to technical difficulties today in terms of viewing the Pay-Per-View, these will be shorter results.

Among the matches for the OTL Pay-Per-View are John Cena defending the WWE Championship in an "I Quit" match against The Miz. Christian seeks to regain the World Heavyweight Championship from Randy Orton. Sin Cara makes his PPV debut against Chavo Guerrero. Also, Wade Barrett defends the IC title against Ezekiel Jackson, while Kelly Kelly attempts to win the WWE Divas Championship from Brie Bella.

Here are the results from tonight's WWE Over the Limit Pay-Per-View:

R-Truth defeated Rey Mysterio by pinfall after cheapshotting him with a crotch shot, clotheslining him and then hitting his finisher.

Ezekiel Jackson won against Wade Barrett due to DQ. The Corre interfered late in the match putting Zeke down on the mat.

Sin Cara defeated Chavo Guerrero by pinfall. Sin Cara hit a tilt-o-whirl facebuster to get the rollup pin on Chavo.

Big Show & Kane defeated CM Punk and Mason Ryan of New Nexus to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships. The finish saw Big Show clothesline Punk out of the ring, then Show and Kane did a double chokeslam on Mason Ryan for the win.

Brie Bella was able to retain her WWE Divas Championship by pinfall on Kelly Kelly. Nikki helped out with some Twin Magic for the win. Karma didn't show up at all during the match.

Randy Orton defeated Christian via pinfall to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Orton countered a move with a backflip late in the match then hit the RKO for the win. The match lasted over 16 minutes but was considered one of the best of the year.

Jerry Lawler defeated Michael Cole by pinfall in 3 minutes. After the win, Eve got to hit a moonsault on Cole. JR came to the ring to pour BBQ sauce on Cole's face. Cole tried to leave up the ramp, but Bret Hart arrived out to bring Cole to the ring. He put the Sharpshooter on Cole and Lawler made Cole eat his foot.

John Cena defeated The Miz in the I Quit Match, despite Alex Riley playing a recording of Cena saying he quit and fooling the referee once, the match was restarted. Cena eventually put Miz in the STF up on stage and forced him to quit.

Over The Limit 2011 PPV Viewing Info

WWE's Over the Limit 2011 Pay-Per-View event occurs on Sunday, May 22nd from KeyArena in Seattle, Washington. The PPV goes live on satellite or cable at 8PM EST Sunday night, with a live feed online option available as well. Price may vary by your particular region or provider. Comcast lists the event for a price of $44.99 with a start time of 7:30PM EST for the half hour pre-show. There may be higher-priced HD versions as well, depending on the cable service.

As for the Over the Limit 2011 live feed, fans can register with WWE's webcast page, where the price is $44.95 to order the online broadcast of the PPV. A video from diva Eve Torres explains the easy steps to get this set up. It is noted on the website that this streaming feed video service won't work with MAC computers, and that you'll need Windows Media Player 11 on your PC/laptop to get this working.

Finally, in addition to the above two options, fans can head out to a local WWE Blast Area. These are specific area clubs, restaurants and grills that will be offering the event on their TV's for patrons. Smackdown Results 05/20/11

Due to the unfortunate passing of WWF/WWE/WCW legend, the Macho Man Randy Savage, today's WWE Smackdown results will be in shorter form than usual. WWE Characters the Blog will resume this weekend with coverage of the Over the Limit 2011 Pay-Per-View event.

- Early in the show, Christian won against Sheamus due to a DQ. Mark Henry interfered in the match. Orton took some time in coming out to make a save.

Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase both came out to the crowd. Dibiase said he represented Corpus Christi with a bag over his head. Dibiase then went on to defeat Trent Baretta.

Ezekiel Jackson came out and then The Corre followed. Smackdown GM Teddy Long interrupted and made a six-man tag match right then.

- Kane, Big Show, and Ezekiel Jackson defeated The Corre in a six-man tag team match.

- Brie Bella defeated Natalya by pinfall. Bella won with the X Factor. Surprisingly, Karma didn't show up post-match.

- Daniel Bryan defeated Chavo Guerrero in about five minutes. After the match, Sin Cara came out and hit a huracanrana on Chavo.

- In the main event, Randy Orton defeated Mark Henry due to DQ. Sheamus interfered to cause the disqualification. Just like Orton did earlier, Christian took his time before coming out and making the save.

Raw Results 05/16/11

Raw Results from San Antonio, TX:

Josh Matthews started off the show on commentary saying in less than a week they'll see just how far the superstars will go at Over the Limit. John Cena arrived out to start off the show. Cole questioned if Cena will be champion after Sunday's I Quit match for the WWE Championship.

Alex Riley arrived out on the stage in a suit to interrupt Cena's in-ring speech. Riley mocked Cena saying all his speeches are the same and he's just gonna talk about how he'll beat Miz this Sunday. Riley asked Cena to watch a Miz highlight video on the big screen which showed Miz destroying Cena in various situations and matches. After the video, Riley introduced the most "must-see" champ in WWE history, and Miz came out from backstage. Riley and Miz went to the ring with Cena. Cole stood up applauding.

Riley kept talking about how the fans predictions are never right, because they all said the Spurs were going to make it out of the first round. Cena retorted about all the things Miz would never say like "I no longer want to play with My Little Pony" or "I have a pair of testicles." Cena said he'll need them for their match Sunday because he sees fear in Miz's eyes. He said after OTL, he'll be saying "Because I'm the Miz, and I Quit."

An email came from the Raw GM to Cole's iPad. The GM said as long as Miz and Riley aren't involved, Miz can pick the kind of match and opponent for John Cena tonight. Miz said he doesn't know Cena's opponent or stipulation yet, but he does know it will be "Awesome."

Kofi Kingston vs. CM Punk

The New Nexus members arrived out and waited up on stage to watch Punk's match. They showed highlights from last week when Punk was ringside as Mason Ryan was facing Kane. Punk helped cheat but wound up getting KO'd by Big Show outside the ring.

In this match, Punk and CM Punk traded finishers late in the match. Kofi went for a move towards the corner on Punk. Punk avoided it and Kofi got tripped up in the corner. Punk grabbed him, hit the GTS and won the match.

Punk went up on stage and sat down in front of Nexus. He said that was leadership by example. He said they aren't going to stop until each member of Nexus is the most dominant wrestler the WWE Universe has ever seen.

Winner: CM Punk wins via pinfall over Kofi Kingston.

Backstage, The Miz was having a conversation with Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero, possibly about tonight's match against Cena.

Kelly Kelly vs. Brie Bella

They showed Eve and Kelly in the ring when Karma came out last week. She decimated Eve as Kelly got away. Nikki arrived to the ring with her sister.

Late in the match, Kelly hit her handspring move on Brie in the corner. She also hit her spinning headscissors move. The finish saw her take an interesting pinfall seated on Brie for the win.

Post-match, Nikki got in the ring to help doubleteam Kelly, leaving her planted on the mat. Suddenly, Karma arrived out to the ring. The Bellas stayed in the ring this time awaiting her arrival. They watched Kharma go towards Kelly in the corner, then one of the Bellas tried to attack her from behind. Karma turned around and hammered her down.

The other Bella jumped off the corner at her, but Karma caught her in the air then slammed her to the mat. Karma then hit the Implant Buster on her. She turned her attention to Kelly in the corner, walked over and looked her up and down. She pulled on Kelly's hair, then flicked her in the forehead before leaving.

Winner: Kelly Kelly wins via pinfall over Brie Bella.

Backstage, The Miz was talking to Big Show, possibly about a match tonight against John Cena.

They showed an exclusive look at WWE Studios film "That's What I Am." One of his co-stars called Orton "very natural." They also discussed the big kiss scene.

A video was shown from last week's main event, post-match, when R-Truth attacked Rey in the ring after he lost the Triple Threat #1 contender's match to Miz.

Rey Mysterio hit the ring to talk about what happened last week. He said he doesn't blame other people for his own problems and he doesn't whine about it if he doesn't get his way. He said he'll call out the guy who jumped him and handle his business like a man. He told R-Truth to come on out and face him in the ring like a man. Rey waited in the ring as Cole and Lawler traded jabs on commentary about it. Raw went to a commercial awaiting Truth's arrival.

Instead of R-Truth, Ricardo Rodriguez came out to introduce Alberto Del Rio, who drove out in a vintage Rolls Royce worth over $100,000. The song "Realeza" which is Del Rio's theme, is now available on iTunes.

Del Rio blamed Mysterio for last week's match going sour for him and losing a shot at Cena's WWE Championship. He disrespected Mysterio and the other Mexicans in the arena. Del Rio said Mysterio's people came to America like a bunch of rats. Rey said he won't stand there and let Del Rio disrespect his people. He said he's proud to be a Chicano and an American. He said if R-Truth isn't going to come down, he's got no problem shutting Del Rio's mouth instead.

Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio

Late in the match, Del Rio went fora running move at Rey near the ropes. Rey ducked it and Del Rio slipped out through the middle ropes hitting the outside floor. Rey started to set up for another move.

All of a sudden, R-Truth's voice came on over the speakers. Truth was shown up in the stands in an empty section yelling to call the police because Mysterio's a thief. He kept yelling to call the cops, then walked out of the stands.

Del Rio got back in the ring and the match continued with Rey getting a near fall. He managed to get Del Rio set up for a 619, but Ricardo Rodriguez rushed over and caught Rey's legs. The ref called for the bell for a DQ. Del Rio managed to kick Rey on the apron, then tossed him into the ring. He got up on the corner and hit a huge elbow drop on him from there. The ref finally stepped in and got Del Rio to leave.

However, as Rey was getting to his feet, R-Truth had snuck into the ring and bashed him down from behind. He kept beating on Rey on the mat, then yelled at him to get up. Rey staggered to his feet, then Truth hit his finisher on him.

Truth got on the mic and said he and Rey will fight Sunday at OTL. He said this Sunday Rey "you gonna get got!" Then Truth beat on Rey some more before leaving the ring.

Winner: Rey Mysterio wins due to disqualification of Alberto Del Rio.

Backstage, The Miz was talking to CM Punk with Mason Ryan standing by. It appeared they might be discussing the match tonight with John Cena.

Raw returned with the official contract signing for Cole vs Lawler at OTL. Cole was in the ring seated in a chair with his feet up on the table with Swagger standing behind him. Lawler was standing up with a mic in hand. Cole said Lawler needs to reiterate to the world the promise he made to him last week if Cole beats him again on Sunday.

Lawler said Cole's never beat him legitimately, but if he does win Sunday, he's a man of his word. Lawler said he'll give him his Hall of Fame ring and should it come to it, he'll personally induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame. Cole smiled and then signed off quickly, then told Lawler to sign too, so he did.

Cole said he believes in full disclosure and Lawler neglected to read the fine print. Cole said it will be a "Kiss My Foot" match and Lawler will have to do the same thing JR did last month on Raw. They rolled the clip of Swagger forcing JR to kiss Cole's Athlete's foot while in the Ankle lock.

Cole also had footage shown of when Lawler lost to Bret Hart and got his foot in his mouth back at 1995 King of the Ring. Hart also bent Lawler's own leg back to make him kiss his own foot. Cole then revealed his ugly foot again to remind Lawler of what he'll be kissing on Sunday. Lawler said Cole's made Swagger into nothing more than a lowly sidekick.

Cole said nobody remembers Swagger being a World Champion. He kept talking down about Swagger, so Jack finally walked up behind Cole and bumped him a bit. Cole turned around, so Swagger asked "nobody remembers me?" He stared Cole down then said "he's all yours King" before leaving the ring. Cole pleaded with Swagger to come back, then turned around and told Lawler this was all a joke. He tried to turn things around and said he respects everything Lawler's done. Lawler interrupted him saying "stuff if Cole." He yanked Cole by the tie against the table, then said on Sunday he's gonna stick his foot in Cole's mouth and close it. Lawler shoved the table over onto Cole on the mat.

Backstage, The Miz was shown talking to Kane about taking on John Cena tonight. Big Show walked up and handed Kane his half of the WWE Tac team championship belts. Kane and Show walked off from The Miz.

Lawler joked to Cole about what just happened. Cole was in his box and said it's not funny, then dropped his mic looking dejected.

Kane & Big Show vs. David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty

On Sunday, Kane and Big Show face CM Punk and Mason Ryan with the tag titles on the line. Punk and Ryan were ringside to watch the match, scouting their opponents for Sunday.

Late in this one, Kane was in control against McGill. Otunga tried to rush into the ring, but Kane booted him down. Mason Ryan slipped into the ring then out the other side to distract Kane and the ref. Big Show rushed over on the outside and took him down with a shoulder block. The ref kept his attention outside the ring. Kane grabbed McGillicutty but stumbled back towards the ropes. Punk was on the apron and got in a kick to the back of Kane's head, allowing McGill to hit his neckbreaker on Kane for the win.

Winners: David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty win via pinfall over Big Show & Kane.

Backstage, The Miz was trying to talk to R-Truth about taking the match against Cena tonight.

When Raw returned, Lawler and Matthews talked about the WWE All-Stars video game. They showed a simulation of John Cena vs The Rock, saying fans won't have to wait until Wrestlemania 28 to see this match happen.

Josh Matthews joked with Lawler about how he's going to have a great Sunday. They ran down the lineup of matches for Sunday including Christian vs Orton for the World Championship, and Cena vs Miz with the WWE Championship on the line. R-Truth will go against Rey Mysterio, and Cole will face Lawler in the Kiss My Foot Match.

Scott Stanford was backstage to interview Kane and Big Show asking how the loss affects them for Sunday's match at OTL. Show said it doesn't affect them a bit, they won't give up these tag titles to anyone anytime soon. Kane said Punk was in all his glory tonight, but Sunday will be the annihilation of New Nexus.

John Cena was seen walking backstage wearing his championship belt. He came up to a bunch of WWE staff backstage with Zack Ryder. Ryder showed him a new T-shirt of him and gave it to Cena. They did a few secret handshakes and Cena walked off laughing.

The Miz arrived out with Alex Riley, both in suits. He said on the mic that tonight's match will be a "No Holds Barred" match. He told Cena to get out there, so the champ soon arrived with his theme music playing. Cena walked out and kept eyeing Miz and Riley. Suddenly, Jack Swagger ambushed him from behind, knocking Cena down. Miz introduced Swagger as Cena's opponent as Swagger kept beating up Cena all the way to the ring.

No Holds Barred Match

Swagger stayed in control for most of the start of the match, with Cena getting a brief comeback. "Let's Go Cena - Cena Sucks" alternating chants started up. Raw went to break with the match still going.

After break, Cena kept getting pummeled by Swagger. At one point, Swagger layed a chair on Cena then did his Swagger bomb splash off the corner. He set up the chair in the corner, then went to get Cena but instead got punched down. Cena went on his burst for a bit, but Swagger slammed Cena down. Swagger kept at it, then was able to put the Ankle Lock on. Cena managed to shift his weight and flip out though. Swagger rushed at Cena near the corner, but Cena managed to avoid him and Swagger slammed head first into the chair.

Cena gained moment with shoulder take downs from the ropes and then a side slam followed by Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena went for the Attitude Adjustment looking up the ramp at Miz and hit it, then put the STF on Swagger. Swagger tapped out giving Cena the win.

Winner: John Cena wins due to submission of Jack Swagger.

Post-match, The Miz applauded from up on the ramp in a mocking fashion. Miz got on the mic saying "very, very very impressive." Miz told Cena there's so many ways to make someone say "I Quit." He said he could toss Cena off the first, face first into the concrete. Miz walked over to one of the camera cranes near the stage, saying he could put Cena against the stage and do something like this, as he smashed the camera against the stage twice.

Miz came to the ring area, and told Alex to find something useful under the ring. Riley retrieved a big piece of pipe and Miz said he could use this too. Miz said that's all the obvious stuff. He said there's a million ways to beat Cena that he probably hasn't even imagined yet. Miz said he's more conniving and ruthless than any other opponent Cena's faced. Miz said he's found a way Cena's never even seen before, to make him quit. Miz guaranteed on Sunday after the OTL match, he'll be declared the new WWE Champion.

Miz said while he won't use the pipe Sunday, he's got no problem using it on Cena tonight. Riley tried to attack Cena, but Cena fought him off. Miz got in the ring and smashed the pipe into Cena's gut then across his back. He backed up and waited for Cena, but this time Cena caught him off guard. Cena grabbed the pipe and rammed Miz in the gut, then bashed it on Riley several times. Miz managed to slip out of the ring. Cena demanded a mic and said "Miz better bring a million more ways to beat him on Sunday, because he's got a hurtin comin' at their match. Cena yelled on Sunday he will force Miz to say "I Quit."

Over the Limit 2011 PPV Matches

The WWE Over the Limit 2011 matches are coming in slowly but surely. As of this report, there are 3 matches on the card scheduled for the second Pay-Per-View of May 2011.

The first match learned about was via Raw this past week. Alberto Del Rio, Rey Mysterio and The Miz competed in a Triple Threat match to determine #1 contender for John Cena's WWE Championship. The Miz managed to steal a win, surprising Rey Mysterio with the pinfall after Alex Riley yanked Alberto Del Rio out of the ring. Cena was able to choose a stipulation for their OTL match and went with an "I Quit Match."

The WWE Universe also learned that Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole will go at it one-on-one again. This time the stipulations were set by Jerry Lawler, who said if Cole wins, Lawler will personally induct him into the Hall of Fame, and give Cole his WWE Hall of Fame ring.

The next two matches came via Friday's Smackdown. First, it was announced that former World Heavyweight Champion, Christian, will take on the current champ, Randy Orton. This will be a regular one-on-one contest for the championship. Christian has vowed he wants to compete at 100% and show he can win the title back. Orton said he wants him at 100% to prove he's the better fighter.

And finally, The Corre's recent internal disagreements have created chaos among one member and the others. Ezekiel Jackson appears to be more of a face wrestler these days and is suffering the wrath of Wade Barrett's crew. Barrett issued a challenge to Jackson for OTL with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. Jackson is a former ECW champion, and in fact the last one to hold that title. Will he capture the IC title from Barrett?

WWE's Over the Limit Pay-Per-View takes place on Sunday, May 22nd, starting at 8PM EST.
