2012 No Way Out Results Coverage

The night of Sunday, June 17th will bring the 2012 No Way Out results to the WWE Universe.  These matches hold plenty of fates with them.  There's not only grudge matches and major championships on the line at this latest pro wrestling event, but also someone's job!

With this latest Pay-Per-View, either John Cena or John Laurinaitis will be fired as of Monday Night Raw the next night. Cena will be facing Big Show in a steel cage, with the rumor being that Vince McMahon will be ringside to watch. John Laurinaitis also told Cena on Smackdown that if he loses to Show, he gets fired on Raw.

As far as championships go, CM Punk defends the WWE title against Kane and Daniel Bryan in a Triple Threat match, with AJ at ringside. Also, Dolph Ziggler will battle Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship. Meanwhile, Beth Phoenix will try to win back the Divas championship from current champ Layla. The latest results and match recaps will be listed below.

Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga

Clay showed up for tonight's match, with his hurt knee taped up.  He still seemed to be moving well despite the injury.  From the start of the match, Clay dominated, beating up on Otunga in the corner.  However, at one point during a referee's warning to Clay, Otunga rushed over to clip his hurt knee.  From there, Otunga kept working on the injury to keep Clay grounded.  However, Brodus made his comeback, and at one point did an overhead, backwards toss slam, which caused Otunga to roll out of the ring.  Otunga got back to his feet around 7 or 8 of the ref's count, but paused instead of getting in the ring, allowing the countout to happen.  Clay stared down Otunga who was outside the ring, before dancing with the Funkacdactyls in the ring.

Winner: Brodus Clay defeated David Otunga by countout.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus
World Heavyweight Championship Match

Late in the match, both guys were down on the mat after a near fall from Ziggler.  Sheamus managed to counter Ziggler's attempted sleeper by hitting the Irish Curse backbreaker.  He did the multiple smashes to Dolph's chest with his forearm, before getting riled up from the corner and connecting on a Brogue Kick for the win.

Winner: Sheamus wins via pinfall over Dolph Ziggler to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Santino Marella vs. Ricardo Rodriguez
Non-Title Tuxedo Match

Early on, Ricardo got upset at Santino getting more crowd cheers than he was, so he tore part of Santino's tuxedo off.  Santino responded by pulling off part of Ricardo's, then doing a mock matador scene, where Santino ended up rushing out through the ropes.

The close saw Ricardo start stripping Santino, but Santino managed to grab the Cobra sock and escape.  He kicked Ricardo in the face, then stripped him down to his underwear (Alberto Del Rio underwear) for the win.

Winner: Santino Marella wins the tuxedo match over Ricardo Rodriguez.

Fatal Fourway Tag Team Match

Competing in this match were The Uso's, Primo & Epico, Darren Young & Titus O'Neil, and Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd. Abraham Washington was ringside for Primo and Epico.

Late in the match, Primo got thrown ringside by a huracanrana from Tyson Kidd. Abraham Washington rolled Primo back in the ring, to try to help him get a pinfall, but Darren Young hit his finisher on Primo instead. Epico went to break up the pin, but AW held him back, allowing Young to get the win.

Post-match, Washington got into the ring and celebrated with Young and O'Neil, upsetting Rosa and her team. They ended up shoving AW down to the mat. Titus and Young saved their apparent new manager though, knocking Primo and Epico out of the ring.

Winners: Darren Young and Titus O'Neil won by pinfall over Primo and Epico to become new #1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team titles.

Cody Rhodes vs. Christian
Intercontinental Championship Match

In the late stages of this one, Christian got to the top rope for his Frogsplash, but Rhodes climbed up to battle.  Christian shoved him to the mat, and went for the Frogsplash.  Rhodes put up his knees and blocked, then went for the Beautiful Disaster.  Christian avoided it and then hit a Spear for the win.

Winner: Christian wins via pinfall over Cody Rhodes to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Triple H made his appearance at the No Way Out PPV and discussed all the legal mumbo jumbo he's had to deal with due to Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman.  HHH said he and Lesnar are both fighters, so that's what they should do - fight.  He challenged Brock to a match out in the open saying "Brock Lesnar, let's fight."

Beth Phoenix vs. Layla
WWE Divas Championship Match

Towards the end of this one, Beth showed off her strength with a military press of Layla overhead.  Layla managed to counter it into a DDT, and then hit her finisher, the Lay-Out to get the win.

Winner: Layla wins via pinfall over Beth Phoenix to retain the WWE Divas Championship.

Sin Cara vs. Hunico

This impromptu match lasted about 6 minutes. Late in the contest, Sin Cara made his comeback, hitting a huracanrana from the top rope. He used several kicks on Hunico before hitting his finisher - a spinning single-arm head scissors takedown.

Winner: Sin Cara wins via pinfall over Hunico.

Kane vs. Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk
WWE Title Triple Threat Match

The commentators discussed how Punk has held the WWE title since November and survived various opponents to remain champ.  Late in this Triple Threat match, Punk hit a GTS on Bryan, but Kane yanked Bryan out of the ring.  Later, Punk was going to go for GTS on Kane, but Kane came back and hit a chokeslam for the near fall.  Punk barely got out of it.  Kane yelled at the ref, then tried for a Tombstone on Punk, who fought out of it.  AJ got up on the ring apron, and apparently got hit off the apron during Kane and Punk fighting.  Punk managed to recover from their incident and hit the GTS on Kane to get the win.

Post-match, Kane went over to check on AJ at ringside and picked her up to help bring her backstage.  As Kane carried her up the ramp, AJ looked over Kane's shoulder and smiled back at Punk in the ring, to indicate she just helped Punk win the match.

Winner: CM Punk wins via pinfall over Kane to retain the WWE Championship.

Dan Delaney & Rob Grymes vs. Ryback
2-on-1 Handicap Match

Pior to the match, the two amateurs clowned around and sang the old Wrestlemania theme song in the ring, before Ryback made his entrance. He had the usual dominant performance in this match before picking up both guys on his shoulders and hitting his Samoan Drop finisher to get the double pin. He looked at the camera saying "Feed Me More!" after the win.

Winner: Ryback wins via pinfall over Dan Delaney and Rob Grymes.

John Cena vs. Big Show
Steel Cage Match

If Big Show loses this match, John Laurinaitis will be fired from WWE. If John Cena loses he is fired from WWE.

For the frantic finish in this one, John Cena and Show traded offense.  Laurinaitis and McMahon were ringisde to watch, with Laurinaitis leaving his seat and knocking out the ringside ref.  McMahon grabbed JL, but got shoved into the cage door, which slammed on Cena's head.  Back in the ring, Show hit a chokeslam on Cena for a near fall.  Cena ducked Show's KO Punch attempt, which hit the ref in the ring and knocked him out.  Show then landed a KO punch on Cena to knock him out too.  Staff checked on Vince McMahon ringside.

Show looked ready to leave the cage, but Brodus Clay came to the ringside area with a steel chair in hand.  He taunted Show to come out through the door and get some.  Santino and Alex Riley showed up, as did Zack Ryder, all hitting the cage wall to prevent Show's escape.  Kofi Kingston also arrived ringside as well and kicked Show off the cage wall when he was trying to climb it.

Cena finally came to, and tried to leave through the cage door.  Show grabbed him, but Cena managed to lift up Show and hit the AA to drop him center ring.  Cena tried to make a pin, but the ref was still out cold.  Cena started his clumb up the cage wall, as Show started to crawl for the door.  Brodus Clay went over and held back Laurinaitis from interfering.  Cena dropped off the cage to the floor, just moments before Show crawled out the door.  Cena was declared winner.

Post-match, Clay let go of Laurinaitis, who tried to use his crutch as a weapon.  Cena grabbed Laurinaitis up on his shoulder.  Vince McMahon was back in the scene, and yelled at him "John Laurinaitis, You're Fired!"  Cena then hit an Attitude Adjustment on Laurinaitis on the Spanish announcers table.  McMahon went backstage and Cena celebrated his win in the cage, as Cole and the commentators talked over who would run Raw and Smackdown now.

Winner: John Cena wins the steel cage match versus Big Show.  John Laurinaitis is fired as Smackdown and Raw General Manager.
