2012 Money in the Bank Results Recaps:

The pre-show opened with a look at fans lined up inside the arena.  Matt Striker and Scott Stanford opened on commentary and ran down the card for tonight's PPV.

They had a backstage segment with Zack Ryder wishing Santino Marella good luck in the MITB ladder match.  Santino showed Ryder how he had a miniature blue briefcase made for the Cobra to carry around.  Damien Sandow showed up to talk about the "mental mediocrity" of these two guys.  Ryder dissed Sandow for being lame and having a bad beard.  Sandow told Ryder he can thank him for having the night off since he beat him in the MITB qualifying match.  Santino intervened to get Ryder out of there before a fight.

Hunico & Camacho vs. R-Truth & Kofi Kingston
WWE Tag Team Championship Match

This match was a free live streaming online match as part of the 7:30PM EST pre-show from WWE.  Kofi and Truth came out to the ring first, followed by Hunico and Camacho.  Hunico rode on the bicycle and had a mic, speaking mainly in Spanish, as they rode to the ring.

Kofi and Truth gained the early advantage as they did several double team moves on Hunico, and kept him isolated from the tag, while Camacho stayed on the apron.  Camacho eventually got into the action to help out Hunico, then tagged in to take control of Truth.

Kofi eventually made a hot tag after Truth landed a leg to Hunico's head.  Kofi hit the Boom Boom Drop then revved up for Trouble in Paradise.  Hunico got up and Kofi went for it but Hunico ducked the move to take control.  He tossed Kofi out of the ring and Camacho looked like he was ready to attack.  Kofi prepared for a springboard move, but Camacho grabbed the ropes to cause him to fall.

After Hunico had the advantage, Kofi eventually made the escape to bring in Truth.  Truth had a near fall but Camacho and Hunico were both in the ring, and the pin was broken up.  Truth grabbed Hunico and tossed him towards Kofi in the corner, with Kingston connecting on Trouble in Paradise.  Moments later, Camacho tried to grab Truth to hit a move for the win.  Instead, Kofi Kingston intervened and then shoved Camacho towards Truth.  Truth hit his finishing move, the Little Jimmy to plant Camacho face first into the mat for the winning pin.

Winners: R-Truth and Kofi Kingston defeated Hunico and Camacho by pinfall to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships.

Josh Matthews talked to Chris Jericho backstage, who said his strategy tonight is simply to win.  He alludes to his tough opponents Kane, Cena and Show.  Jericho said he's never won MITB, but that changes tonight and he'll be referred to as "Greatest of All-Time."

Josh Matthews spoke to Daniel Bryan backstage about the AJ marriage proposal.  Bryan said AJ isn't his ex-girlfriend, but his future wife.  He calls her an honest and caring woman.  He said tonight he'll emerge with the WWE title and AJ's heart.

MITB Match for a World Heavyweight Championship Contract

Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Santino Marella, Damien Sandow, Lord Tensai, Cody Rhodes, Sin Cara and Tyson Kidd will be competing in this match. The winner is the first one to retrieve the briefcase hanging above the ring which contains a contract for a future World Heavyweight Championship match.

In the close of this match, Tyson Kidd and Cody Rhodes were both climbing up to retrieve the briefcase, but Christian speared down Cody to the mat, causing Rhodes to Kidd to fall too.  Christian and Santino started to climb up, with Christian shoving Santino off the ladder.  Christian struggles to reach the briefcase.  Dolph Ziggler rushed over to knock Christian off the ladder, then grabbed the briefcase to get the win.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler wins the MITB match and retrieves the briefcase containing a World Heavyweight Championship contract.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus
World Heavyweight Championship Match

Late in the match, Del Rio grabbed Sheamus by his arm and yanks it down across the top rope.  Del Rio gets back in the ring, but Sheamus hits the White Noise for a near fall.  Sheamus picked up ADR, who slid off him and kicked the champ in the face.  ADR goes for the cross armbreaker, but Sheamus avoids it.  Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick, but ends up caught in the ropes.  Del Rio goes for a pinfall attempt from the armbreaker, only getting 2.  Moments later, Del Rio misses on a kick to the back of Sheamus' head.  Sheamus is able to hit White Noise and then sets up for the Brogue Kick.  The crowd chants for the "Brogue," which Sheamus nails for the win.

Post-match, Ricardo Rodriguez jumped on Sheamus from behind, and then Del Rio helped bring him down to the mat.  The two guys kept stomping away on Sheamus.  Dolph Ziggler's music hits and he comes down with his MITB briefcase ready to cash in.  Ziggler clocks Del Rio with the case, then talks to the referee about cashing in.  However, Sheamus was back on his feet and connected on the Brogue Kick to Ziggler preventing him from starting a match.  Sheamus celebrated still the champion.

Winner: Sheamus defeated Alberto Del Rio by pinfall to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

Epico & Primo vs. Darren Young & Titus O'Neil

R-Truth and Kofi Kingston arrived to the ring in suits to provide guest commentary for the match.

Late in the match, Epico and Titus were the legal competitors, but made tags out to their partners.  In come Young and Primo to go at it.  Primo manages to gain control and hits a splash from the middle turnbuckle.  He has a near fall.  Moments later, Primo dropkicked Young into the ropes, then jumped onto him.  Primo does a springboard move, but Young hits him mid-air with knees to the face.  Young goes for the big win, but Primo gets a surprising rollup pinfall to win.

Post-match, O'Neil and Young have a ringside confrontation with the tag champs, Truth and Kingston.  Truth throws water on AW, causing AW to go after him, but the Prime Time Players hold him back.  Truth pretends to hold Lil' Jimmy back too.

Winners: Primo & Epico win via pinfall over Darren Young & Titus O'Neil.

Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk

WWE Championship Match

WWE Diva AJ will serve as the special guest referee for this match.  The match received a new stipulation that it was a no disqualification match.  Therefore all sorts of weapons were used by both men including steel chairs and kendo sticks.  AJ helped (and didn't help) by screwing with both guys by stepping on a kendo stick when they went to use it, or standing in front of Bryan when Punk went to attack him.

Late in the match, CM Punk brought a table into the ring, then put Bryan on top of it.  Bryan rolls off the table before Punk goes for a jump from the top rope.  Bryan starts to battle, punching and kicking Punk in the face.  The two end up fighting on the corner turnbuckle, with Punk ultimately hitting a huge backdrop from the top rope to smash Bryan through the table.  Punk makes the cover and AJ counts the pinfall.

Post-match, AJ gets the WWE title belt and gives it to Punk who goes and celebrates in the corner.  AJ seems confused and upset over it.  AJ continues watching Punk celebrate, as Bryan is knocked out on the smashed table.

Winner: CM Punk wins via pinfall over Daniel Bryan to retain the WWE Championship.

Ryback vs. Reks and Hawkins
2-on-1 Handicap Match

Early on, Ryback was in control dominating on Hawkins, until Reks got involved, and even had a pinfall attempt. However, despite their attempts at doubleteaming the undefeated Ryback, he made a comeback. Ryback hit a huge slam move on Hawkins, then ran over Reks when he tagged in. Ryback eventually threw Hawkins to the outside floor, then hit a huge clothesline on Reks. He follows with his finisher, Shell Shocked, to get the big win.

Winner: Ryback wins via pinfall over Reks and Hawkins.

Layla, Kaitlyn and Tamina vs. Beth Phoenix, Natalya, and Eve Torres

They had an impromptu a six divas tag match.  The finale saw all six divas in a brawl in the ring.  It ends up with Tamina delivering a superkick to Beth, and then Layla getting the win on Beth by pinfall.

Winners: Layla, Kaitlyn, and Tamina defeated Beth Phoenix, Natalya and Eve Torres via pinfall.

MITB Match for a WWE Championship Contract

Competing in this match are John Cena, Big Show, Chris Jericho and Kane. The winner is the first one to retrieve the briefcase hanging above the ring which contains a contract for a future WWE Championship match.

There was a surprise entrant as The Miz showed up as the fifth competitor in this matchup.  Late in the match, Cena was up top of a strong, reinforced ladder that Big Show had brought in for himself.  Chris Jericho had a sleeper locked on Cena nearly making him pass out at the top of the ladder.  Jericho had to battle with Miz though and ultimately Cena fell to the mat.  Jericho knocked Miz away and made his attempt to climb for the case, but Big Show was back in.

The grand finale saw Big Show knock both Jericho and Miz off the ladder, looking like he would yank down the briefcase.  However, Cena managed to rush up the other side of the ladder and used the hanging briefcase to bash against Big Show as a weapon.  He ultimately grabbed the case and used it to knock Show off the ladder, winning the match, and the championship contract.

The close saw Cena celebrating as the MITB winner.

Winner: John Cena wins the MITB ladder match to earn a WWE Championship match contract.
