Raw Results 9/9/13

Raw Results from Toronto, Ontario, Canada:

The show opened with Edge making his way to the ring.  Edge is back with The Cutting Edge and said Triple H wanted him to have Randy Orton as his guest tonight, his old Rated RKO partner.  Edge said Orton's too boring though, so instead his guest is Daniel Bryan.  Edge showed footage of Big Show KO'ing Bryan last week, and then asked Bryan if he can defeat Orton.  Bryan says he can.  Edge is talking but Orton's music hits to interrupt.

Orton trash talked about Canada, and Edge's broken neck injury.  Edge called Orton "spineless."  He brought up Triple H and that brought Triple H out.  Edge said he's not employed by WWE so HHH can't make him shut up with what he says.  Edge brings up that HHH didn't think he, Jericho or Cena would make it, but they did.  He said now HHH doesn't believe in Bryan either.  Triple H brings up the one guy he was right about, who was a failure - Edge.  He says Edge never drew a dime for the business.

Triple H said he'll let D-Bryan prove him wrong tonight, in a match against Dean Ambrose.  He says Bryan can have Big Show in his corner too.  Edge keeps going at it verbally with Triple H, who brings up Edge's hurt neck.  Edge calls HHH some more names and mentions he had to marry into success.  Triple H said he can't hurt Edge, but he can't hurt the ones he loves.  The Shield comes out from backstage dragging Christian.  They drop him on the ramp.  Edge rushed up to check on him with Orton, HHH and The Shield all heading backstage.

Kofi Kingston defeated Curtis Axel due to disqualification.  During the match, Axel started to stomp away on Kofi, and hit him with multiple knees to his back in the corner.  The ref DQ'd him for not breaking when he warned him.  Post-match, Heyman looked worried as he talked to Axel telling him this can't happen at NOC PPV.  Axel keeps beating down Kofi, but Kofi recovers and hits him with Trouble in Paradise.  Kofi celebrates on his way up the ramp as Heyman looks worried.

After a break, they showed Axel and a ref helping Heyman up off the floor backstage in a hallway area.  Heyman slipped on water out there and fell.  He asks for his own doctor to look at him, but the WWE doctor checks him out and puts some ice on Heyman's knee.

Backstage, Booker T comforted Big Show over what went down last week and suggested he shouldn't let his pride make a mistake he can't take back.  He brings up Rhodes getting fired last week.  Show says pride is about all he has left.  Booker tells him to just be a professional, but Show walks off.

Bray Wyatt defeated Dolph Ziggler via pinfall.  Late in the match, Ziggler hit a neckbreaker and then a big elbow for the 1 count.  Ziggler countered another Wyatt move and hit a leg drop for another near fall.  Rowan and Harper get up on the apron, but Ziggler fights them off.  However, the distraction allows Bray to eventually hit Sister Abigail for the win.  The Wyatts posed over Dolph after their win.

Paul Heyman came out to the ring with his own personal doctor and Curtis Axel.  He was on crutches and informed everyone he can't compete at NOC due to a torn ACL or something.  GM Brad Maddox comes out with the WWE Dr. Sampson and says the only way Heyman is cleared to withdraw from a match is after WWE's doctors check him out.  Dr. Sampson evaluates Heyman in a chair in the ring and he says he believes Heyman is fine and has no real issues.  Heyman complains about it.  CM Punk's music hits and he comes rushing down the ring with a kendo stick.  He unloads on Heyman's doctor and Axel.  Heyman runs away, proving his leg isn't that hurt.  Punk poses on the corner with the Kendo stick then takes out some more frustration on the fake doctor.

Natalya, Brie Bella and Naomi defeated Layla, Alicia Fox and Aksana via pinfall.  AJ Lee was on commentary during the match.  During the match, Aksana accidentally hit a splash on Alicia when Natalya moved away.  Natalya dumped Aksana out of the ring, then put a Sharpshooter on Alicia to make her tap.  Post-match, AJ taunted the Night of Champions diva opponents she'll face.

Alberto Del Rio defeated R-Truth via submission in a non-title match.  Late in the match, Del Rio made a comeback and hit a superkick on Truth.  He followed with the cross armbreaker for the win.

After a commercial break, they announced a Tag Team Turmoil match for Night of Champions involving The Usos, PrimeTime Players, Tons of Funk, 3MB, and Jack Swagger/Antonio Cesaro.  The winning team becomes new #1 contenders for the tag team titles.

Santino Marella defeated Antonio Cesaro via pinfall.  During the match, Cesaro did an airplane spin with Santino for several minutes straight.  Later, Santino was abl to make a comeback and hit The Cobra punch for the win.

Damien Sandow defeated The Miz via pinfall.  Sandow won thanks to a distraction when Fandango came out during the match.  Fandango was out with Summer Rae and Sandow managed to steal the win.

Backstage, Renee Young talked to Goldust.  He said he's been the screw-up of the Rhodes family, and messed up a lot of chances with WWE.  He said Cody being fired is ridiculous.  He said Triple H is throwing his weight around to embarass the Rhodes family.  Goldust said after tonight, Orton will never forget the name of...Triple H showed up to cut him off, asking Goldust how he's been.  He brought up the pressure of the big match tonight and wished Goldust good luck.

Randy Orton defeated Goldust via pinfall in a non-title match.  Goldust was fighting to get his brother Cody re-hired by WWE.  During the match, Orton taunted fans by mocking D-Bryan's "YES" chant.  Late in the match, Orton prepared for the RKO.  Goldust blocked it and hit Cross Rhodes for a near fall.  Orton rolled up Goldust for a pinfall attempt moments later.  Goldust kicked out.  He attacked Orton, but Randy countered and hit the RKO for the win.  Post-match, Orton stood over Goldust with the WWE Title in hand.  He grabbed a mic and said it looks like Goldust's dream of saving Cody's career was shattered, just like Bryan's dream of taking his title will be shattered at Night of Champions.

After break, Goldust is shown walking backstage when Stephanie McMahon comes up to him, saying he must be disappointed.  She says Cody and his new wife must be disappointed too since Cody is out of a job.  She says it's all because of Dustin, and now he left his family, father and the WWE Universe down.  She asked him how it feels to be a loser just like Cody, then tells Goldust to go join him on the unemployment line.  She says to tell Dusy she said hi.  Goldust walks off looking distrought.

Rob Van Dam defeated Ryback due to disqualification.  Alberto Del Rio came out before the match to taunt RVD calling him a "washed up loser."  He says fans will be chanting "A-D-R" after Night of Champions.  During the match, RVD was in control late and went for a Five Star splash but Ryback rolled out to the floor.  RVD leapt out to the floor, but Ryback moved away and RVD hits the barrier.  Ryback grabbed RVD and rammed him into the ringpost crotch-first to get DQ'd.  Post-match, he brought RVD back into the ring and hit Shellshocked.

Backstage, Stephanie told Big Show if lays a hand on The Shield tonight, he'll be fired.  She said she's got a special seat for him tonight.  She walked off and Show gets upset, throwing a large monitor to the ground.

Daniel Bryan defeated Dean Ambrose via pinfall in a non-title match.  Late in this one, Rollins and Reigns both tried to attack on the outside, but Bryan avoided them both, causing them to hit the steps and announcers table.  Ambrose attacked Bryan from behind and took down Bryan to the floor.  He rolled Bryan back into the ring for a 2 count, then later Bryan got a quick rollup pin out of nowhere to grab the win.

Post-match, Randy Orton ran down to the ring, but Bryan did a suicide dive out onto him.  They began to brawl, with The Shield coming over to help Orton.  Big Show came over holding a steel chair but had to restrain himself from getting involved.  Shield and Orton roll Bryan into the ring, where Orton hits the RKO on Bryan.  Triple H and Stephanie come out, telling Show to get in the ring and knock Bryan out again.  Orton held up Bryan waiting for Show to hit the KO punch.  Show wouldn't do it and Orton tossed Bryan down to the mat.  Show turned his back on Orton and went to the corner looking out at the crowd.  Orton yells at Show ordering him to knock Bryan out.  Bryan came running out of nowhere and connected with a knee to Orton's face to leave him down on the mat.  Bryan takes the WWE title belt and poses over Orton as Raw goes off the air.
