WWE Divas List: Past & Present Roster (Updated)

There’s been a variety of women’s wrestlers on the WWF or WWE divas list or roster over the years. Among those who have thrilled and delighted fans are Mae Young, Fabulous Moolah, Miss Elizabeth, “Sensational Sherri,” Sunny, Sable, Chyna, Trish Stratus and Lita. Among the newer divas have bee notables such as Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, AJ Lee and Paige, all of whom have worn the WWE Divas or Womens Championship belt during their careers. It seems appropriate to give them their special place here on the blog site. Fans can scroll down for lists of the past and present rosters for WWF/WWE women's wrestlers (aka divas) or check out a few championship reigns trivia tidbits first.

WWF/WWE Womens & Divas Championship Reigns
First, some quick trivia about the divas and their respective championships. Eve Torres has held the Divas Championship the most times with three title reigns. AJ Lee has the longest overall reign of over 339 days (for two combined reigns). The shortest reign as champ belongs to Jillian Hall with less than a day as champion. In fact, she lost it rather quickly in a match right after winning it. Melina became her successor with the victory.

As for the previously retired Women’s Championship, nobody held the belt longer than The Fabulous Moolah. Her eight reigns gave her 10,708 days as the champion. Moolah also has the most reigns, but Trish Stratus is second with seven reigns. Trish is also second in terms of length of her overall combined reigns with 828 days. Hervina, a diva played by shady manager Harvey Whippleman, held the title for less than a day, which is the shortest overall reign.

Now, without further adieu, let's look at the lists as they've been updated below.

*Celebrity personality and TV host Maria Menounous has wrestled in a few matches in the ring, making her a bit of an honorary diva.

As you can see, there's been plenty of great divas and women's wrestlers over the years. Not all have managed to win the championship belts during their career though. Some struggled mightily in the ring, and were best able to accompany tag teams to the ring and play the outside distraction, rather than wrestle. Here's one fan's take on the top 30 divas of all time. See what you think in this WWE divas roster video.

So which of the above divas is your favorite from the past, and from the present divas roster in WWF or WWE? Feel free to leave your comments below!

WWE Action Figures

(Bring home the Brothers of Destruction!)

A great holiday gift for many members of the WWE Universe are the WWE action figures which resemble the wrestlers from World Wrestling Entertainment. You can buy them individually or in two packs, and also can find WWE Action Figures for sale online for decent prices. You might even find some of the hard to find action figures that are sold out in stores too.

Some of the bestsellers right now include the two packs you can buy which contain tag partners, popular rivalries or mangers with their wrestlers. Examples are Tony Atlas with Mark Henry, Kane & Undertaker in this classic package or the Hardy Boyz classic deluxe 2 pack. Check out their action figures here.

The WWE Adrenaline 2 pack series #37 features Jeff Hardy and The Undertaker. These are 6 inch action figures crafted to bear a strong resemblance to the real wrestlers. Also includes 2 battling accessories to go with them. Get WWE Adrenaline 2 Packs Series #37 here

Also in series 37 of these action figures for WWE Adrenaline is a two pack containing The Game Triple H and The Viper, Randy Orton. These two adversaries make for some great matches if you own the stunt action spring ring to go with it. Or just hold your own street fights around the house using your imagination!

Other popular figures sold in single packs include Rey Mysterio, Hornswoggle, Jeff Hardy, Evan Bourne, Tommy Dreamer, Mark Henry, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Batista, and John Cena.

On a side note, LJN produced the first ever WWE action figures back in 1984, made out of solid rubber and were 8 inches tall. They didn't have much movement despite looking a lot like the real wrestlers. As of 1989, LJN closed down their toy operations, so WWE contracted toy maker Hasbro for the job. They handled the duties until 1994, making figures with spring-loaded actions such as clothesline or punch motions. In 1996, Jakks Pacific began to product the action figures for WWE, but they will stop that in December of 2009, at which time Mattel takes over.

Brother Love's Mission

Back in the WWF days, about 20 years ago, "Love" was definitely a big part of pro wrestling..Bruce Prichard took on the famous role of "Brother Love" after a career as a ring announcer with UWF (Universal Wrestling Federation). Brother Love was always decked out in an all-white suit with reddened face and hosted a special segment known as "The Brother Love Show". He had the trademark phrase of "I LOVE YOUUUUU" which he would exclaim during most of his in-ring or other speeches. His mission was simple. Spread the "word of love" to WWE and its fans. His show was also the scene for many famous ambushes by wrestlers looking to get the upperhand on their latest opponents too.

Brother Love was involved in several WWE stories during his career and most notably he managed the Undertaker until 1991, which is a sure sign of love. In 91, Brother Love sold the manager contract to Paul Bearer who became the famous keeper of Undertaker's special urn.

Brother Love was a character of controversial nature, which is nothing new for WWE. Back in the 1980's there were plenty of televangelist scandals going on involving religion. The WWE famously mocked these incidents by "showing some love" and preaching to the masses. For a while, Brother Love had been doing in-ring segments with various afflicted people and they would claim he had cured them of their problems. His love was felt all over.

In the "Ultimate" act of love, Brother Love's character was beat down by the Ultimate Warrior in March of 91 and he hasn't been heard from much in WWE.

In honor of St. Valentine's Day, here's to one cool WWE Character who shared the love, Brother Love.
