WWE Survivor Series 07' Predictions
This will mark the 21st annual Survivor Series Pay Per View, arriving right before the Thanksgiving holiday. There's just 1 traditional elimination style match on this card, but several big title matches going down. Here's predictions for each match this Sunday.
Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton (WWE Title Match)
For some reason WWE hasn't had the belt on Shawn Michaels for some time now. He seems to continuously be put into a contender role but never captures the title. Don't expect it here either, as Orton is still too new as WWE champ to lose the belt. I don't see Michaels being the next one to win the belt either. Most likely it will be Mr. Kennedy or HHH. Don't be surprised if Edge, who is pictured on the Survivor Series poster, makes his return here to interfere somehow. Remember Orton can't be "intentionally disqualified", but an Edge interference wouldn't be intentional.
Prediction: Randy Orton retains the belt, either due to an RKO or someone else causing the DQ for him.
Undertaker vs. Batista (World Heavyweight Title, Hell in a Cell) Undertaker still wants his title back and this would seem to be his type of match to take it. Some have speculated that Edge interferes in this match to make his return, but it wouldn't make much sense at this point. Going out on a limb with this pick, the Undertaker will take back the World Heavyweight title, defeating Batista. These guys may even trade the title a few times leading up to Wrestlemania 24.
Prediction: Undertaker scores the major pin to take his title back.
The Miz vs. John Morrison vs. CM Punk (ECW Title Triple Threat) - This seems to be a cancel out situation, with Miz and Morrison recently having a mini-feud amongst themselves. Now that they are tag champs, you'd have to think that will play into this as well. It's hard to see CM Punk losing it here and this probably sets up a similar deal to what MVP and Matt Hardy had, with Miz and Morrison as unfriendly tag partners.
Prediction: CM Punk retains with a pinfall over The Miz.
Hornswoggle vs. Great Khali - A tough love match of sorts will see the smallest guy on the WWE roster versus the tallest guy. Khali has been smashing and crushing various opponents for weeks. However, Hornswoggle has that ability to elude his opponents and use various tricks. I see Hornswoggle able to win this match somehow, maybe even someone else will assist him.
Prediction: Hornswoggle wins the match by a countout or a miraculous pin.
Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holy vs. Cade & Murdoch Many fans expect the tag titles to change hands here, but it's tough to see Cade & Murdoch losing. Most likely Rhodes and Holly get into a bit of an argument and it costs them the win.
Prediction: Cade & Murdoch retain the tag team titles by pinfall
10 Divas Tag match - Beth Phoenix has been dominant running through every other diva she's faced. It seems as if her team is the dominant team in this match too. However, WWE may want to set up her next opponent here, having someone like Mickie James or Michelle McCool score a major pin. Then the speculation can begin over who her next opponent is.
Prediction: Mickie James or Michelle McCool score the winning pinfall over Beth Phoenix.
HHH, Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy & Kane vs. Umaga, MVP, Mr. Kennedy, Finlay, Big Daddy V
The only traditional Survivor Series match on the card offers some interesting possibilities. WWE.com hasn't announced that Matt Hardy won't be participating, but it's entirely possible his recent injury keeps him out. HHH seems to be the favorite to win this one, but possibly he has someone else on the team win with him. So it may just come down to 2 guys.
Prediction: Triple H and Rey Mysterio win the Survivor Series match, to give a representative from Smackdown and Raw.
