2012 WWE Night of Champions Predictions Preview

It seems like SummerSlam was just last week, as the 2012 WWE Night of Champions Pay-Per-View is now upon us.  The latest event is the only one of the year where typically every single WWE championship is defended on the card.  The main events should be the two major championship matches, as John Cena fights CM Punk for the WWE Championship, and Alberto Del Rio battles Sheamus for his World Heavyweight Championship.

John Cena vs. CM Punk for WWE Title:

Cena might seem like a favorite heading into Boston, MA, but it also seems like a setup.  CM Punk was just aligned with Paul Heyman, and it seems this move, along with a huge win in Cena's territory is coming at us.  Remember that attack by Punk on The Rock weeks ago? It's doubtful Rock has forgotten about it.  So either he's going to show up at TD Garden and surprise everyone with a Rock Bottom on Punk, or he's going to get Punk at Royal Rumble.  For that to happen, Punk has to either continue his already lengthy reign, or win it back from Cena.

Prediction: CM Punk to retain

Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus for World Heavyweight Title:

The World Heavyweight champion Sheamus has been a decent champion, and a dominant one, with a reign that ranks third behind Triple H and Batista all-time for WWE World Heavyweight champs.  A lot of fans are sour on him, but it's doubtful they'd be happy with Del Rio as their champion.  It seems likely Sheamus will retain, but won't be very surprising to see Dolph Ziggler cash in that MITB contract after the match and walk out of Boston as the brand new champion.  After all it's "Night of Champions," and he's in the only non-championship match on the card.

Prediction: Sheamus to retain, Ziggler to become new champion.

Pre-Show Battle Royal winner (#1 Contender for US title):

This one's kind of fun and an enigma, since there's no participants announced.  Smart money is on guys like Ryback, Christian, or previous champion Santino Marella.  All three are suitable contenders.  There's been some rumors of a Christian vs. Cesaro feud, so WWE may go that way, or they may continue the antics of Santino's Cobra puppet being attracted to Aksana.  It would be strange to have Cesaro hold the title for such a short reign, so Ryback winning is a longshot.

Prediction: Santino Marella to win battle royal, loses to Cesaro.  Second choice: Christian

Kane & Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston & R-Truth for Tag Team Titles:

This match came out of nowhere, sort of.  The comedy segments involving Kane, Bryan, and Dr. Shelby for the anger management skits have been great, and fans are eating all that up.  If Dr. Shelby is on the PPV, it would continue the segment.  WWE has a hit on their hands with that, and may decide it's time for Kane and Bryan to own the tag titles for a bit, while trying to continuously deal with their anger issues and impending feud.  Or this one will simply lead to them getting into another fight and a further feud match.  If WWE's smart, they put the titles on these guys and continue doing stuff with Dr. Shelby on Raw/Smackdown or YouTube even.

Prediction: Kane and Bryan to win, becoming new tag team champions.

Kaitlyn vs. Layla for WWE Divas Championship

Layla has held the WWE Divas title for 136 plus days.  She's now ranked fourth all time on the longest reigns list behind Maryse (216 days), Beth Phoenix (204 days) and Michelle McCool at 155 days.  However, many fans believe that her time is up, and Kaitlyn could breathe new life into the championship.  It could give Layla a bit of time off, leading to a feud between Eve and Kaitlyn.  In fact, Eve may also get involved in this one somehow, so keep an eye out.  Maybe Booker will appoint her special guest referee, or she'll suggest it herself?

Prediction: Kaitlyn to become new Divas champion.

Fatal Fourway for Intercontinental Championship:

In this one, The Miz aka "The Marine 2" will defend his championship against Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio, and Cody Rhodes.  It seems like this match could involve some fun spots, as these guys have competed in tag matches on other events.  Will Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio go at it?  Will this be where one betrays the other?  Or will it lead to a Cody Rhodes vs. Miz feud?  It seems interesting to have Miz as a heel, with a movie to promote in which he's considered a hero.  Anyhow, he should retain, although Cody Rhodes seems a strong successor for another reign if they want to move the belt.

Prediction: The Miz to retain his IC title.  Possible feuds set up between Cara/Mysterio and Rhodes/Miz, or change of character?

Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler

The only match of the card with no title involved per se, although AJ Lee could be vindictive and put Dolph's briefcase on the line again, after she was attacked by Vickie Guerrero.  This match could serve a few purposes though: it could get Randy Orton off TV for a while with a big injury angle.  Or it could make it look like Ziggler is defeated and done for the night, only for him to cash in later.  Or he could get the big win and then a bigger win with the briefcase cash in.

A fourth scenario would have this match after Ziggler has won the World Championship, making for a second championship match in the PPV.  Should be interesting.  Right now, it seems Ziggler needs a push more than Orton, who needs time away for filming the sequel to Cena's "12 Rounds."

Prediction: Dolph Ziggler to get the win and go over.  Will it be a MITB briefcase opportunity match for Orton, or possible a title match if Ziggler has cashed in?

Possible WrestleMania 29 Matches List

It might seem premature, seeing as the WWE Universe just witnessed the 2012 edition of SummerSlam, but it might be fun to toss out a few match predictions for WrestleMania 29.  These are based on the recent happenings from the SummerSlam PPV and other events, as well as what could just make for an interesting lineup.

There's plenty of big names who could (and should) be associated with the next edition of WrestleMania.  They include the obvious with John Cena, CM Punk and Randy Orton, as well as the guys who are sort of a mystery in terms of how they fit into the  big picture: The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Triple H, and The Undertaker.

Potential WrestleMania 29 Matches:
John Cena vs. The Rock II (for WWE Championship)
Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker (streak vs. career match)
Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)
CM Punk vs. Triple H?

First and foremost, The Rock and John Cena II may be the match fans get at Mania.  If Rock wins the WWE championship at the Royal Rumble (off CM Punk, or Cena), he could hold onto it as a way to build up towards the bigger PPV (and promote his GI Joe movie).  That would give Cena revenge for the loss at Mania in Miami, and his big win over The Rock.  Not everyone's going to love this idea, because if it goes down this way it also makes these guys 1-1 against each other, meaning they'd need a third match at some point to break that tie.

For Brock Lesnar, if he sticks around until Mania, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes against The Undertaker.  Those two had that infamous crossing of paths during a UFC event, leading to rumors of an eventual match, and Mania is the biggest stage of them all.  It would require months of buildup to get there, but if Brock "leaves" right now, Taker could always return and then Lesnar does because he wants a piece of him.

Of course, this could also go several other ways.  They could also bring Taker back to fight Brock at the Royal Rumble.  Some have even suggested Survivor Series, which is several months away.  The other way it could go is to have Triple H get a rematch against Brock at Mania, and get the victory.  However, I really feel when it comes to the whole undefeated streak, Undertaker needs a big name in there, and if it isn't The Rock, Triple H or Cena, it's got to be Brock Lesnar facing Taker at Mania.

Of course, something interesting also presents itself with Triple H, and that is the way things went down with Shawn Michaels.  He had his arm broken by Brock and didn't appear in Hunter's corner at the PPV.  Triple H didn't make the "save" in the ring when Lesnar broke his friend's arm.  On Raw just this past Monday, HBK basically told everyone he thought Triple H was done and he should have admitted to him he thought he couldn't defeat Brock.  So that sets the stage for something here.  Michaels clearly retired and all, but is this all setting him up for a future bout with Triple H?  Very interesting situation there.  I still expect Triple H to return for some sort of match at Wrestlemania, because that's when WWE needs its top guys there most.  Maybe he'll have a feud with CM Punk around then?  It's tough to predict this one.

There's also the question of the World Heavyweight Championship match for the big event, and that seems to revolve around guys like Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, Randy Orton, and yes, Chris Jericho.  My top picks for potential matches here are either Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler, or Chris Jericho vs. Dolph Ziggler with the World Championship on the line.

With all this in mind, we also have the Royal Rumble coming up in January 2013, which is about 5 months away.  However, some of the top picks to win could be Jericho (who lost last year), Orton, CM Punk, or John Cena.  Basically it will depend on whether Cena or Punk has the WWE title heading into that event.

It's still early, and it's going to be interesting to see how some things play out.  Will Punk remain WWE champ the rest of the year?  Who will have the belt at Royal Rumble, and who will win it?  It just would seem strange for The Rock to get attacked by CM Punk, and for Rock not to get some payback.  So if Punk can continue his reign through 2012, we're going to see a first-ever Rock vs. Punk match in the ring come Wrestlemania.

2012 Money in the Bank Matches & Predictions

Money in the Bank PPV for 2012 features a total of four matches so far including two MITB matches.  On the line in those are two contracts; one for the WWE Championship, and one for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The other two matches will feature the actual championships on the line.  Mind you, there's only been one time a wrestler cashed in during the same Pay-Per-View, and that was Kane two years ago when he cashed it in to defeat Rey Mysterio for the World Heavyweight title.  Could we see that happen again?

While it's always possible, it doesn't appear that way, unless there's some interesting moves that happen.  The more intriguing of the two ladder matches is certainly the Smackdown (World Championship) version.  There really are three guys there who appear like they could be the winners with Christian, Cody Rhodes, and Dolph Ziggler.  However, WWE could really swerve things and make a guy like Damien Sandow rise to quicker prominence, if they wanted.

If Christian wins, he currently holds the IC title, so he'd have to drop that before cashing in.  It happened before with The Miz.  Or, WWE could make him vacate the IC title and hold a tournament.  Also, if Christian wins, then most likely we'll see him going heel, and cashing in on Sheamus (unless Del Rio wins the championship at MITB).

So here's the top 3 picks in order: Christian, then Ziggler, then Rhodes.  Those 3 make the most sense, right now.  Two are heels already, who have yet to really hold the championship.  I say that due to Dolph's previous reign which was very short.  With the fact that Dolph separated himself from tag partner Jack Swagger (similar to Miz separating from John Morrison), maybe now is his time to shine.  It'd be great to see Cody get that contract though, after years of paying his dues.

In other match it's John Cena, Kane, Chris Jericho, and Big Show.  Kane is the only previous winner, but don't count on him winning gain.  Also, while everyone wants Cena to win, remember the above, nd tht is for the most part all of the previous winners went heel.  The only exception to that rule appears to be Rob Van Dam in what was a crossover story involving WWE and ECW for the ECW One Night Stand PPV in 2006.  He cashed in there to defeat Cena for the title.

So who will win the WWE Championship contract?  It appears the smart money will be on Jericho or Show.  The way Show has been built up lately, he could be a major force to be reckoned with if he has that briefcase in his possession.  It would also be interesting to see how he climbs the ladder to retrieve it.  Maybe it'll happen with all three opponents layed out on the mat below?

In the two championship matches, it seems Sheamus and Punk should retain.  Many fans will point out that the AJ, Daniel Bryan and Punk love triangle looms over the WWE Championship.  Despite that, there had been rumors that Cena and Punk will be clashing at SummerSlam 2012 for the WWE title.  For that to happen, Punk obviously needs to have the belt around his waist still.  So it's hard to see him losing at MITB to Bryan, or whoever wins the ladder match.

Chris Jericho the Royal Rumble 2012 Winner?

With the return of Y2J there have been no words spoken, and his actions seem to be quite loud.  On last night's episode of Raw, Jericho was booked in his first match since returning to the show, a six man tag match.  While he was partners with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, Jericho decided to once again clown around, eventually leaving the match without fighting.  So what's the deal?

Some fans have been complaining about Jericho's routine, but it's becoming clear he may be the guy who is the favorite to win the Royal Rumble in 2012.  This is an early prediction, but seems to work out.  Jericho hasn't been mentioned much as one of the competitors in the match.  Instead, Cole and Lawler keep questioning what's going on with him.  The focus is more about what Jericho isn't saying.

It's likely he won't say anything until he wins the Royal Rumble.  Once that happens, Jericho will say he come back to reclaim what was his, the top spot as "best in the world at what he does."  That will include regaining the WWE Championship.  It very well may be a Jericho vs. Punk title match too, since it seems to make a perfect feud.

Punk was the outspoken one more recently while Jericho was away.  Now Jericho's back and will eventually start speaking on the "pipebomb" again.  These two guys can certainly deliver good promos on the mic, so imagine what the trash talk will be like.  For now, fans may not be pleased with the direction Jericho's going, but it seems to be shifting the focus away from his as the Royal Rumble winner.

If not Jericho, who will win the 2012 Royal Rumble?  There's still the possibility of someone like Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, or Batista making a suprise return, entry and becoming the Royal Rumble winner.  Time will tell, but Jericho seems like a great choice for a Wrestlemania main event title fight right now.

By the way, last night's Raw may have set the stage for another potential Rumble spoiler.  With John Laurinaitis clocking down Mick Foley with the mic, it wouldn't be surprising to see Foley show up wearing a referee's uniform to help officiate the CM Punk-Dolph Ziggler WWE title match.  Possibly we'll see Laurinaitis get knocked out by someone, and Foley rush in to make the official decision for the match.  That will keep Punk as the champion heading towards Wrestlemania 28.

WWE Summerslam 2011 Predictions

There's just four matches on the card for Summerslam 2011 as of now. Three championships are on the line and potentially the life of Sheamus as he battles and angry Mark Henry in a grudge match. Here's Summerslam predictions courtesy of WWE Characters the Blog!

The one foreseeable title change (besides the fact someone won't have a WWE title) is that Kelly Kelly will lose to Beth Phoenix. It seems as if Kelly has finally met her match, unless WWE is planning to really put her over by some surprise win over Beth Phoenix. The Glamazon has the power and might here and should get it done in Los Angeles, a neutral fight area for the two divas.

Christian and Randy Orton meet again in a "No Holds Barred Match." Christian has managed to find a way to cheat his way to victory before, so expect it to happen again, although he won't quite be cheating here. It's possible someone else gets involved in the match to knock out Orton, allowing Christian to retain, and setting up a new Orton feud.

Sheamus seems to be a formidable opponent for Mark Henry, and they may even be preparing Sheamus for a title run at Christian next. Expect Sheamus to pull off the victory in this first match, unless it's a draw to set up their next go round. When all is said and done, the winner of this is a strong #1 contender for the World Championship belt.

Finally, there's the match everyone is anticipating. It was a bit harder to predict until Triple H got involved. WWE could obviously go two ways with this one depending on what they're moving towards in the future. Some will expect that Triple H manages to screw over John Cena after their previous in-ring exchange on Raw. However, CM Punk really pushed HHH's buttons quite a bit on the show the week before. That could come into play here if Punk keeps up the taunting. The pick here is with John Cena to emerge victorious in Los Angeles as the undisputed WWE Champion, to keep his promise to the Rock that he'd still be WWE Champion by Wrestlemania.

There's likely to be a few more matches added to the card probably as the event goes live. These could include The Usos vying for the tag team championships against David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty, and possibly Alex Riley taking on Dolph Ziggler for the US Championship. Also, there's a potential match with Cody Rhodes versus Ezekiel Jackson for the Intercontinental title. Summerslam goes live at 8PM EST on Sunday from Los Angeles on Pay-Per-View.

Survivor Series 2010 Predictions

That's right we've arrived at Survivor Series 2010! It seems that the year has flown by, because it's already time for Thanksgiving and with that the classic WWE Pay-Per-View. SS continues to endure all the other PPV name changes and is one of the Big 4, along with Summerslam, Wrestlemania and of course, January's Royal Rumble.

For this year's event, we all know the major stipulations facing John Cena as special guest referee in the Barrett vs Orton WWE Title match. If Barrett becomes champ, Cena is done with Nexus. If Orton wins, Cena is fired on the spot from WWE. In addition to that match, there's the World Title match between Edge and Kane, a traditional Survivor Series 5-on-5 elimination match from Smackdown, the Divas Championship, Intercontinental Championship and the grudge match between John Morrison and Sheamus. Let's get right to the Survivor Series 2010 predictions!

Natalya vs Team LayCool
Divas Championship 2-on-1 Handicap

If anyone can beat this team 2-on-1 it's Natalya (or Beth Phoenix who still isn't back). Judging from the finish we saw on Friday's episode of Smackdown, with LayCool getting the doubleteam kick to the face to beat Natalya in a tag contest, Natalya will win this one. It's her third try at the Divas title, and third time will be a charm. Besides that pink/silver/black belt scheme matches her outfit.

Prediction: Natalya overcomes the odds and wins the Divas Championship, via Sharpshooter.

John Morrison vs Sheamus

This won't be the only match in the feud, so that should make the prediction somewhat simple. They may be preparing Morrison for a push towards the WWE championship level with this feud though, so I'm expecting he'll come out on top in a series of matches. However, in this one Sheamus somehow gets that first victory to extend things, perhaps by some cheating so Morrison can challenge again and the Raw GM can back up his request.

Prediction: Sheamus bests Morrison in what should be the first of many matches.

Kaval vs Dolph Ziggler
Intercontinental Championship

This one will be going out on a limb as Kaval just won his first match since winning NXT. He had the grand celebration on Smackdown, then announced he'd be choosing to face Ziggler Sunday for the IC title, as he gets to do with his NXT Season 2 win. Kaval's got an impressive array of moves and can entertain crowds. Is he ready for a championship? Sure why not. Make it two in a row and give Kaval the title. There may even be some sort of ringside drama with Vickie and Kaitlyn of NXT Season 3 that helps Kaval win.

Prediction: Kaval wins the Intercontinental Championship by pinfall.

Team Mystero vs Team Del Rio
5-on-5 Elimination Match

This year's "Traditional SS Elimination match" is from Smackdown featuring guys they want on the PPV who aren't in title pictures right now. Not going to get too biased here, but getting a bit annoyed with how they use Big Show as a huge clown and Knucklehead promo on the various WWE shows. He's basically become the 500lb equivalent of Hornswoggle, and that makes his wins a bit annoying at times.

Back to the match at hand. On Friday's Smackdown Teddy Long had all ten guys in the ring for a good ol' Battle Royal, which Mystero and Show won. Is that a preview of who will be standing on Sunday? Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes had a recent riff, so I'm expecting those two to cancel each other out. Not expecting we'll see Chris Masters or Tyler Reks left either. How about Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger as the final two guys? It's basically one of those matches that's always up for grabs and depends on who they want to push. Del Rio needs that push if he's going to be featured in the major title picture on Smackdown.

Prediction: Team Del Rio wins, with Del Rio and Swagger remaining.

Edge vs. Kane
World Heavyweight Championship

This is a tricky one, as it's becoming more obvious they will probably be giving us that Kane versus Undertaker match at Wrestlemania 27. That's plenty of "resting in peace" time for Taker, but they will need to make his surprise return - probably at the Rumble, and he probably wins it to challenge Kane. That said, Edge has been playing enough mindgames to seriously enrage a Big Red Monster. Smashing a pizza on Bearer was a waste of a perfectly good pizza pie too! Kane will capture the win here, retain his title and Edge will challenge again next month and probably at the Rumble too, where Taker returns.

Prediction: Kane defeats Edge via pinfall to retain the World Heavyweight Title.

Wade Barrett vs Randy Orton

This one seems to be getting more obvious as the PPV approaches. Some had originally speculated that David Otunga may interfere, if he had been ex-communicated from Nexus. Otunga is still part of the faction, although he doesn't really like Barrett. He still could play a part. Still, I see Orton able to retain with Cena doing the right thing. He hesitates but ultimate gives Orton the 1-2-3 count. Or, Cena somehow gets knocked out in the fray, or RKO'd and another ref must make the decision for Orton. Still, I see Cena getting fired because it will allow them to bring him back via the Raw GM's orders to face Barrett at upcoming PPV's.

Prediction: Barrett loses, Orton retains, Cena fired.

Bragging Rights 2010 PPV Predictions

WWE Pay-Per-Views are hitting us quicker than a Randy Orton RKO! It's time for Bragging Rights, mere weeks after WWE put on the Hell in a Cell PPV. That Pay-Per-View set up many of these situations, especially the main events: WWE Title and World Title are on the line in unique situations. We've also got a Bragging Rights match that really packs a punch with top-of-the-line superstars competing for that trophy that an enraged Kane knocked over on Friday night's Smackdown.

Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler

Bryan has had a strange roller-coaster ride while he's been built by WWE. However, he is the United States Champion. This seems like a match where Vickie Guerrero's rookie Kaitlyn could play a part, costing Ziggler a win. There's no titles on the line and it will give Bryan a good win over a credible WWE star.

Winner: Daniel Bryan wins via pinfall over Dolph Ziggler.

Natalya vs. Layla
Divas Championship

Natalya is part of the Hart clan and seems destined for a title reign. This is the only one available. It appears in this match Layla will be the one defending, but that Michelle McCool will be lurking around the ring like always. Still, it seems time for Natalya to capture a title, and she should be able to slap the Sharpshooter on Layla to make her tap out. Of course, win or not, Michelle McCool will contend that Natalya didn't beat "the official champ," setting up further matches.

Winner: Natalya wins the match, but does she win the official belt?

Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown for Bragging Rights Trophy

They just recently set the record straight, this will be an elimination style tag match, which now makes the additions of Santino Marella, Tyler Reks and Ezekiel Jackson more logical. They could somehow use this to set up a future storyline, making teammates turn against each other. It seems that with all the recent Smackdown triumphs over Raw, someone will win the match for Raw. Expect The Miz to somehow be at least one of the final Team Raw members, further solidifying a great 2010 for Mr. Money in the Bank. However, will this be the PPV where Miz cashes in? Seems less likely with all that's going on here.

Winners: Team Raw wins, The Miz is among the final team members left.

Undertaker vs. Kane
Buried Alive Match

It seems odd that this feud will finish at Bragging Rights instead of Survivor Series, which seems a more appropriate place to have a Buried Alive match. Makes it look almost as if Kane will once again be victorious and claim to have buried the Undertaker for good, leading to yet another match in the future. The other factors here are Undertaker's constant nagging injuries, his age and inability to hold the title due to that for too much of a reign. Kane's had a good run, but how many matches will Undertaker lose to his younger brother, and how many fans will want to keep seeing them fight at each PPV? Taker will finally get a win and the title.

There's an interesting prediction which comes from PWTorch's Pat McNeill. He has a Taker win with the burial of both Kane and Paul Bearer. However, the match has taken so much out of Undertaker that The Miz rushes in to cash in his MITB case and take the World Heavyweight title. Interesting pick!

Winner: Undertaker wins the Buried Alive match and World Title.

Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett
WWE Championship Match

We all know the situation here. John Cena is the reluctant new member of The Nexus and must follow Barrett's orders or be fired from WWE. Cena will be Barrett's corner man. That means there will likely come some situation in this match where the referee is knocked down, and Barrett orders Cena to help him out. This could be where Cena finds a way to defy Barrett and Nexus, or it could be where Cena helps Barrett win the title. If it's the latter, that just sets up more Cena-Orton feuds and we've seen enough of that for a decade. It just seems unlikely Barrett will win because of all the recent hooplah with his arm raised and in-ring speeches, plus the Orton beatdown. Orton will somehow leave as WWE Champion, while tensions will intensify between Nexus leader Barrett and John Cena.

Winner: Randy Orton retains the title, despite potential Cena involvement.

Hell in a Cell 2010 PPV Predictions

It might seem like the last WWE Pay-Per-View was just a few weeks ago, and actually it was. Hell in a Cell arrives a quick two weeks after Night of Champions. The last PPV saw several titles change over including the Unification of the Divas/Womens titles for Michelle McCool, a new United States Champion in Daniel Bryan, and the WWE Championship moving to Randy Orton from Sheamus.

With Hell in a Cell 2010 arriving on Sunday, many new questions have surfaced. Probably the biggest involves the whole John Cena vs Nexus storyline. Will Cena finally make a heel turn, or will Nexus disband? We've also got the feuding brothers of destruction, World Champion Kane and Undertaker, inside Hell in a Cell, as well as Sheamus and Orton. So two major titles will be decided in the cell. Also on the line are the US Title and newly unified Divas Championship. Let's take a look at the matches, analysis and 2010 WWE Hell in a Cell predictions.

Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz vs. John Morrison
US Championship Triple Threat Submissions Count Anywhere

Unless Daniel Bryan needs surgery for some strange injury, he's had the US title only since the last PPV, where he defeated Miz via submission. With that in mind, it's tough to see Bryan losing in this first championship defense. This match will establish Bryan's title reign, showcasing his skills as a submission artist. We'll also get some entertaining spots from the highly athletic John Morrison, and maybe some involvement from The Miz's personal helper, Alex Riley. Still when all's said and done, Bryan will remain champ after slapping the Labelle Lock on Miz.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan retains the US title by submission.

Natalya vs Michelle McCool
Divas Championship

Natalya seems ready for her first singles title in WWE, now that the Hart Dynasty has lost the tag titles. She had a good showing on Smackdown, even if Michelle and Layla were not involved in the ring. Natalya will find a way to get the Sharpshooter on Michelle, but it's always possible we see some sort of shenanigans from Layla and Vickie Guerrero, claiming Natalya must beat both members of LayCool to win.

Prediction: Natalya wins the Divas title by use of Sharpshooter. Maybe beats both members of LayCool in same night?

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
WWE Title Hell in a Cell match

The fact that Sheamus had a successful attack on Orton during Smackdown makes you think that it will be The Viper's revenge in the Cell. Orton should capture the win to retain the WWE Title here, showing why he deserves to be champion right now. However, will this be where The Miz cashes in? It would be a smart move as Orton will likely be very worn down inside a foreboding structure, allowing for an easy opportunity, should Miz take it.

Prediction: Orton retains the WWE Title in the cell, but will Miz cash in?

Kane vs. The Undertaker

There's possibly as many as four title changes on the card here (five if Sheamus wins and Miz cashes in on him). This is one title I can see changing, although I thought for sure these two would decide things in a Casket match or Buried Alive match. Maybe that's still coming. With Paul Bearer back by the Undertaker's side and that powerful urn, Taker seems primed to win back his World Title from brother Kane. However, we've seen Paul Bearer swerve in the past, aligning himself with Kane and other demonic forces. Will he become a traitor again at Hell in a Cell to move the storyline forward, or will Undertaker win the title? Let's go with Undertaker finally regaining the title, to the delight of fans. He may be the "Deadman" but he still ages just like other wrestlers.

Prediction: The Undertaker wins the World Heavyweight Title back by pinfall.

John Cena vs. Wade Barrett
Join Nexus or Nexus Disbands?

This is the one everyone's questioning. Will Cena go heel? Will Nexus be broken up? My guess here is Cena will lose the match, likely due to Nexus interference. Does that mean he goes heel? Not necessarily. There's been plenty of storylines in the past in WWE where a superstar was forced to be a personal assistant or valet for another wrestler, just as an irritating get major heat type move. That's probably what WWE is aiming for here, generate more hatred of Nexus, as they force Cena to be part of their faction and turn against other wrestlers he normally wouldn't. Maybe something interesting develops out of this at Bragging Rights, which just happens to have a Nexus "N" in the sign.

Prediction: John Cena loses to Wade Barrett by pinfall, must join Nexus.

WWE Night of Champions 2010 Predictions

WWE presents its Night of Champions Pay-Per-View on this Sunday, September 19th, 2010. The theme of this particular event, is that all of the titles in the WWE will be contested in addition to a few non-title matches. As of this posting, there is just one non-title match, but there's always potential for more when the PPV actually airs. Also as of this post, the WWE Tag Team Championships are not on the line, but will be as of the event. We've got some compelling matches including a No Holds Barred match and a Six Pack Challenge WWE title match. With that, let's get a quick look at WWE Characters the Blog Night of Champions 2010 predictions!

First up, a prediction for the tag titles, or what they should do with them. The Hart Dynasty should defend in a Triple Threat due to the match that went awry on Raw. So this match would feature Hart Dynasty defending against R-Truth/John Morrison and Cody Rhodes/Drew McIntyre. If that happens, or even if its just Drew/Cody, I think they will be the new tag champions.

There's also potential that Smackdown GM Theodore Long comes out and puts Alberto Del Rio into a one-on-one with Christian, just based on what we saw on Smackdown Friday. If that happens, Del Rio's the clear favorite as he's yet to lose and a loss would hurt him early on.

As for Big Show vs CM Punk, the Straight Edge seems to have disbanded, with Luke Gallows now on his own, and Punk left as the final solo member to face Big Show. On Smackdown we saw Show deliver a KO right hand punch to Punk, leaving him on the mat. The match could be Show's final moment in dismantling Punk's SES, or it could lead to a new push for Punk. He hasn't really been part of the title picture due to SES, with the exception of Fatal Fourway. Let's say Punk wins this one, either by some sort of cheating or a new person emerges to befriend Punk.

Now for the titles. First up, Dolph Ziggler will defend the Intercontinental Title against Kofi Kingston. The stipulations, no countout or DQ for Ziggler or he loses that title. Vickie is likely to be involved again, and we've seen some "Trouble in Paradise" for her and Dolph as of NXT. We didn't see Dolph on Smackdown, so it makes you wonder what will happen next. They could go several ways with the whole Vickie-Dolph and Kaitlyn love triangle, making for a unique story. Let's say Dolph wins this one somehow, seeing as he has both a sleeper submission and the Zig-Zag that he can use to finish Kofi.

In the Womens division, the Divas and Womens Championship will be historically unified at NOC. This will be a Lumberjill match, featuring one member of Team LayCool with the Womens Championship against Divas Champ Melina. On Smackdown, we saw Michelle rigged the "draw from a hat" so that she'd be the team member facing Melina. Layla was none too please and made it seem she won't be joining Michelle at ringside. With that in mind, let's assume that Team LayCool is on the verge of splitsville, Layla will cost Michelle the win, and Melina becomes first ever unified champion in the womens division.

The United States title will be on the line as The Miz will face his former NXT rookie Daniel Bryan. These two guys have never liked one another and now its time to put up or shutup. A win by Bryan is a big stepping stone for both he and The Miz. It clears the Miz of the title so he can soon cash in that MITB contract for a bigger prize, the WWE Title. If Bryan wins this one and the title, I'm expecting Wade Barrett wins as well, so WWE can claim two former NXT stars made it big already.

The World Championship currently rests around the evil waist of the Big Red Monster, Kane. He'll put it on the line against Big Brother, The Undertaker, in a No-Holds Barred contest. It could be the match of the night, or feature a lot of slow action. Best bet here is Kane finds a way to survive with the title to continue on for another PPV match. It seems this is the kind of feud that needs to end with a buried alive match.

Finally, there's the Six Pack Challenge. You can check out a breakdown of the Six Pack Challenge WWE match by Matt Clark of Gather.com. His pick, like mine is that Wade Barrett will win the match, since he is using his NXT prize here, basically cashing in for the title shot. He's got a five-man team to help him out which could come into play. Darren Young could also come into play and cost him the title. Let's say it comes down to Wade Barrett and Jericho, with Barrett schooling his former NXT mentor and taking the WWE Title for his first reign.

Money in the Bank 2010 PPV Predictions

We've got yet another new innovation in WWE Pay-Per-View events debuting this Sunday with Money in the Bank 2010! The sports entertainment show will feature not one but two Money in the Bank ladder matches in addition to at least four title matches on the card. Sheamus, Rey Mysterio, Layla and The Hart Dynasty will all put their championships on the line.

What will make this event intriguing is the MITB briefcase concept. We could very well see titles change hands multiple times before the night is over, as opportunistic superstars cash in for their chance at gold. Also, The Nexus continues to lurk around and could mean trouble for champions, challengers or just about any other superstar!

So let's dive into some predictions for Sunday's event!

Kelly Kelly vs. Layla
WWE Womens Championship

Layla is part of the self-proclaimed "Co-Womens Champions" along with her LayCool partner Michelle McCool. Kelly Kelly has never enjoyed a title reign and it would be great to see her with gold. However, I can't see it happening here after Friday's finish on Smackdown. It involved Layla getting pinned by Kelly due to a distraction by Rosa Mendes at ringside. I'm not sure what Rosa's involvement will be in the future storyline, but with Michelle McCool around, it's unlikely Kelly will win, unless of course Tiffany gets involved.

Prediction: Layla retains the WWE Womens Championship.

The Usos vs. The Hart Dynasty
Unified Tag Team Title match

Outside of The Dudebusters and Hawkins/Archer there's really not many heel tag teams to contend with the Hart Dynasty. The Usos seem to be the premiere heel opponents right now for DH Smith and Kidd. The Hart Dynasty has had a nice reign, and I can see them possibly recapturing the titles for another title reign. At this point, The Usos seem likely to capture the belts and make a ruckus as the tag champs. However, the tag team titles haven't been featured much lately, so it won't be very meaningful.

Prediction: The Usos become the new tag team champions.

Raw Money in the Bank Ladder Match

I had originally thought they'd have HHH back for this match and maybe we'll still get some sort of surprise. We'll go with the current match though. Eight superstars in this one will make for a compelling contest. We've got John Morrison, Evan Bourne, Mark Henry, Ted Dibiase, Chris Jericho, The Miz, Randy Orton and Edge. Of those names I really see just three contenders or heirs to the WWE Title. Edge is the ultimate opportunist and I wouldn't be surprised to see him win this. However, I'm going to go with Orton here to grab the briefcase and maybe even cash in on Sheamus later in the night.

Prediction: Randy Orton wins the Raw MITB ladder match.

Smackdown Money in the Bank Ladder match

We've got a doozy here too with plenty of hi-flyers and powerful superstars. First I'll list who I don't expect to win: Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Matt Hardy, Dolph Ziggler or Kofi Kingston. That's only half the field and leaves us the intriguing three of Christian, Drew McIntyre and Kane. Christian seems destined to eventually capture a major title in WWE since he did it in TNA and was former ECW champ. Kane's current storyline would make a win interesting. If Kane was indeed the Undertaker's attacker, Taker might even prevent his brother from cashing in the briefcase. That leaves me to select Drew McIntyre to win it. He's the Chosen one, he irritates the fans and Mr. McMahon personally signed the guy. I expect a future World Championship reign.

Prediction: Drew McIntyre wins Smackdown Money in the Bank.

Jack Swagger vs. Rey Mysterio
World Title Match

With Rey Mysterio hobbling around and previous rumors he was going to take time off, I find it hard to believe he'll leave the event as champion. In this match though we also have Jack Swagger who was being hunted by Kane. If Kane wins MITB it makes things more interesting. Or we may see Drew McIntyre win the brifcase and take advantage of a hurt Rey. I'm going to take Swagger to win the title and then get the heck out of dodge before anyone can cash in on him.

Prediction: Jack Swagger wins back the World Championship.

John Cena vs. Sheamus
WWE Title Steel Cage match

This match could very well see that dastardly bunch, "The Nexus" once again interfere in a John Cena main event. They did it at Fatal Fourway, but as of Raw we saw that Sheamus is ready to fight them as well. Still the heart of the matter here is a cage match involving the WWE Title. It's going to be brutal, and it leaves whoever is the champion very vulnerable to a MITB cash in. I think Sheamus will continue his reign, although it might be short-lived. If Orton wins MITB he may be cashing in on Sheamus. It wouldn't be far-fetched to see Edge cash in on either guy in the cage. Still Sheamus will at least retain in the cage whether it's due to Nexus interference or his own doing.

Prediction: Sheamus retains the WWE Title but for how long?

This is another fun PPV event to cover and predict because it's wide open. With the Nexus situation, Mysterio's injury, the cage and then two guys holding title contracts on the night when the champs will be vulnerable to cash-ins, there's lots of possibilities!

Fatal 4Way PPV predictions 2010

The Fatal 4Way Pay-Per-View for 2010 will feature three Fatal fourway matches on its card. This is the first edition of the new PPV event, and the World Title, WWE Title and Divas title are up for grabs with four individuals competing in each of the contests. The champion won't need to be pinned or submit to lose the match or title. So in effect, the champion has a tough task ahead for Sunday night!

Those champions include WWE title holder John Cena, World Title holder Jack Swagger and Divas champion Eve Torres. The Miz will also defend the United States Championship and Kofi Kingston the Intercontinental title, making for quite the event! Here's my Fatal 4Way predictions...

But first, a side note. This Pay-Per-View is truly unpredictable in that we have some "loose cannon/wildcards" from both Raw and Smackdown. For Raw, it's Wade Barrett and his NXT crew. They last were seen on Raw threatening GM Bret Hart to give an answer by Sunday. They could end up playing a part in the event. Also, Kane seems to be a man possessed on Smackdown. He may very well play into the World Championship match, as we saw from the end of Smackdown Friday night.

R-Truth vs. The Miz
United States Championship

The Miz just won the belt the other night from R-Truth so it would be very odd to flipflop the belt around so soon. Then again, WWE has shown it will do that. Just look at what happened with Bret Hart winning the title, becoming GM, then vacating the belt for R-Truth to win. Anyhow, The Miz should retain. Let's keep the US title a bit respectable and stable. Also, The Miz has a rookie who will likely be at ringside in Alex Riley.

Prediction: The Miz wins via pinfall over R-Truth.

Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston
Intercontinental Championship

It was interesting to see the run-ins on Smackdown when McIntyre was humiliating GM Teddy Long. Not only did Kofi Kingston show up, but so did Matt Hardy. It makes you wonder how long the Hardy and McIntyre feud is going to keep up. Hardy was supposedly banned from all WWE premises and events, but that didn't stop him Friday.

On Smackdown, Drew finished off both Kofi and Hardy thanks to the help of 10 security guards. With that in mind, I don't see Kofi Kingston losing the title here and Matt Hardy may even show up yet again.

Prediction: Kofi Kingston retains the Intercontinental title.

Maryse vs. Gail Kim vs. Alicia Fox vs. Eve Torres
Divas Championship Fatal Fourway

If I have to pick one match with a title loss for the Pay-Per-View, this is it. As much of a fan as I am of Eve Torres, I can't see her keeping the belt too long. Her most likely successor is Maryse. The two will continue their feud, this time with Eve trying to regain her title back.

Prediction: Maryse wins the Divas Championship.

Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. John Cena
WWE Championship Fatal Fourway

I keep leaning towards Sheamus here, but the NXT storyline keeps getting in the way. The interesting thing is that the live Raw on TV Monday night didn't feature a conclusion to the tag match involving Cena and Orton versus Edge and Sheamus. We've seen them skirt the issue with Orton for weeks due to his shoulder, making sure he hasn't competed. If he wins the WWE Title Sunday I'll be shocked. On the other hand, we all know Edge is the ultimate opportunist and loves to steal victories out of nowhere.

The buildup of John Cena has continued for weeks now, and Sheamus hasn't really seemed to get much heel heat in recent weeks. Still, the latest storyline involving Wade Barrett would seem to point towards him getting his spot with WWE back as well as his PPV match for a title. He'll go for the top dog, John Cena and the WWE Title. So Cena wins, to set that up.

Prediction: John Cena retains the WWE Championship.

Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk vs. Big Show vs. Jack Swagger
World Championship Fatal Fourway

One way to work the whole Undertaker-Kane story is to have Rey Mysterio win the World Championship Sunday night. It would make Kane point the finger at Mysterio for taking out Undertaker, in essence getting his spot in the match and winning the World Title. My thought on the whole story is that it's probably Kane who was really behind it. He wanted to grab Undertaker's spot at Fatal 4Way but Mysterio got in the way, winning the Battle Royal.

However, Rey Mysterio wasn't originally intended for the match and was going to take time off from WWE. So he's likely not going to win the title. Jack Swagger retains, because it doesn't seem WWE really wants the belt on anyone else right now, until maybe the return of Undertaker.

Prediction: Jack Swagger retains the World Championship.

Once again, these picks were a struggle, which is good because the WWE has us all guessing with the recent storylines. These are the more exciting times to be a fan from the WWE Universe, because we don't really know what roles Wade Barrett, the NXT and Kane will play on Sunday. They seem to hold the power cards for swaying GM's and matches at the Fatal 4Way on Sunday!

Over the Limit 2010 PPV predictions

It's just one day until we get the newest of WWE Pay-Per-Views, Over the Limit 2010. While this doesn't involve special stipulations in all matches like last month's Extreme Rules, it will push WWE wrestlers to their limits as they compete. Almost all of the WWE hardware is on the line too, with the US Title and Womens Championship among the only titles not up for grabs.

Here's a quick look at my projected winners in WWE Over the Limit predictions:

John Cena over Batista in I Quit Match
Rey Mysterio over CM Punk, Punk shaved bald
Ted Dibiase over R-Truth
Drew McIntyre over Kofi Kingston to retain
Jack Swagger over Big Show to retain
Edge over Randy Orton
Eve Torres over Maryse to retain
Hart Dynasty over Jericho/Miz to retain

Seems textbook, but I'm not expecting any title changes, especially not in the major title matches. You've got to wonder though with so many matches on this card. We may see a title change in the last two matches listed above, although it seems unlikely Eve or Hart Dynasty will drop titles so fast. Really depends on the direction WWE wants to go with them right now. I know Melina will be back at some point and probably will go after Maryse, rather than Eve for the Divas title. Jericho/Miz seems like a good collaboration for Raw, but will they need the tag titles to succeed? I have this feeling that Jericho may be an instrument to help Miz turn face at some point too, so they will break apart at some time.

Also, several of the above matches seem like just the beginning of new feuds, while the Cena-Batista and Punk-Mysterio matches should be the final chapters of those (except we may see Mysterio and the mystery man in a new feud). We have a Fatal Fourway PPV coming up which will likely see that style of match for both the WWE and World titles, so factor in that there will be 3 other contenders to face Swagger and Cena. (probably Edge, Orton, Sheamus for WWE title; Show, Kofi and ? for World Title)

Elimination Chamber 2010 results

Welcome to the WWE Characters the Blog Elimination Chamber 2010 PPV results page! On this page starting at 8PM EST on Sunday, February 21, 2010, you'll find results updated from the WWE's Pay-Per-View right up until 11PM EST when the PPV ends. Keep checking back for the latest results, or click here to refresh this page.

At the 2010 Elimination Chamber, there will be two Chamber matches, with Raw and Smackdown superstars competing. In the Raw Chamber, Sheamus defends his WWE Championship against Triple H, Randy Orton, Ted Dibiase, Kofi Kingston and John Cena. In the Smackdown Chamber, the Undertaker defends his World Heavyweight Championship against R-Truth, John Morrison, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho. Two men will start the match off, with the other four competitors inside locked "pods" inside the large, ominous and demonic Elimination Chamber. Every so often, a new competitor will be released from their pod to compete in the match. Competitors are eliminated by pinfall or submission, until one man scores the final victory, and leaves the chamber as the champion. Will Undertaker and Sheamus retain their titles heading towards Wrestlemania 26?

Also will Drew McIntyre be able to hold off Kane and retain the Intercontinental title? Who will become the new Divas champion, Maryse or Gail Kim?

Raw Elimination Chamber for WWE Title

The match opened with Sheamus dominating Kofi Kingston as the first two competitors went at it. Kofi had a brief comeback as he hit an enziguiri kick on the Celtic Warrior. Sheamus regained control right before the first five minutes, and then HHH was released into the match. Triple H rushed into the ring to go after Sheamus, for revenge after this past week's Raw. HHH blocked a Sheamus move and hit a DDT for a near fall. Kofi Kingston went to splash on HHH who avoided it, causing Sheamus to get hit instead. Kofi then hit several moves in the corner, before landing a leg drop on Triple H on the platform.

Next up, the ten minute mark hit and Randy Orton was into the match. Dibiase and Cena looked on from inside their pods still. Orton smashed Sheamus face first into the various walls of the Chamber, then did the same to HHH. Kofi Kingston then took all three guys out onto the platform. He went for a springboard move on Orton who countered with a dropkick in the air on Kofi. HHH went at Orton, who dropped him then prepared for the RKO. He went for it, but HHH shoved Orton off. Orton hit a backdrop on HHH over the ropes onto the platform. With Kofi and HHH down, Sheamus rammed Orton into the ringpost. As the 15 minute mark hit, Dibiase was released into the match.

Dibiase helped his Legacy mentor Randy Orton up, and the pair went after Sheamus, throwing him shoulder first into a ringpost. Next up they targeted Kofi, and were able to stick his head into a part of the cage wall. Dibiase applied a Boston Crab for a bit. Dibiase and Orton doubleteamed HHH for a DDT with HHH on the rope. They looked at Cena as the clock went down to 21:00. Cena was the final entrant.

Cena came out fighting and punched away on Dibiase and Orton. He eventually hit a Five Knuckle Shuffle on Orton, and almost had Attitude Adjustment on Dibiase. Cena ended up tossing Dibiase over the ropes onto the platform. He put the STF on Dibiase, with Orton breaking it up. From outside the ring, Cody Rhodes appeared and sent a metal pipe into the ring for Orton. Instead, Dibiase grabbed the pipe and clocked both Orton and Cena. With both guys down, Dibiase went for a pinfall on Orton. As Orton was escorted away from the Chamber, he glared at Dibiase. Dibiase looked back and that allowed Kofi to hit a Trouble in Paradise to eliminate him after the 25 minute mark.

Sheamus hit Kofi Kingston with a bicycle kick, then hoisted him up in the air for his Outsider's Edge move. Kofi was the third competitor eliminated, leaving HHH, Sheamus and Cena in the match.

Sheamus went for his finisher on Cena but HHH broke it up by punching the Celtic Warrior in the gut. HHH then hit the Pedigree, and slowly was able to turn over the champ for the pinfall to eliminate him. With Sheamus out, it was down to Cena vs HHH for the title. Cena was able to lock the STF on HHH in the middle of the ring. Eventually, HHH began to tap on the mat to give Cena the win via submission. Cena is now the WWE Champion.

Winner: John Cena wins the Raw Elimination Chamber to become new WWE Champion.
Just as Cena was celebrating his WWE title win with the belt in hand, Vince McMahon's theme music hit and out came the Chairman. He got on the mic to congratulate Cena, then told him he'd be going to Wrestlemania as champion, but only if he can successfully defend the title against his first challenger, right now. Batista's music hit, and The Animal came out for a WWE title match.

Batista vs. John Cena
WWE Title Match

Cena was worn down from his 45-50 minute Chamber match, but still attempted a punch on Batista. Batista came back and Speared Cena down, then hit a Batista Bomb. The Animal made the cover for the winning pinfall to become new champion. Batista took the belt and walked off up the ramp. Cena limped from out of the ring dejected over the loss, looking back at the Wrestlemania 26 banner hanging up high.

Winner: Batista wins via pinfall to become new WWE Champion.

Kane vs. Drew McIntyre
Intercontinental title match

Early on, McIntyre chopped away at Kane trying to level him with clotheslines. Finally, Kane responded with a big clothesline to send McIntyre out over the top rope. McIntyre got back into the ring and started trying to take control. He went for the double underhook DDT with no luck as Kane blocked it and hit an uppercut. Kane hit the sidewalk slam, then went for the Chokeslam. Drew escaped it and went onto the ring apron. Kane grabbed McIntyre then ran him headfirst into the ringpost, before delivering a big boot to kick him off the apron.

Kane went out and retrieved McIntyre to put him in the ring during the ref's count. McIntyre escaped and started up the ramp with Kane getting to him for a headbutt. Kane rolled McIntyre into the ring again. As Kane went to get in the ring, McIntyre raked him in the eye with a thumb. Kane was stunned by it, allowing McIntyre to hit his double underhook DDT finisher for the win.

Winner: Drew McIntyre wins via pinfall to retain the Intercontinental Championship.

Vickie Guerrero came out to inform everyone that she was officially postponing the divas championship match. Instead at tonight's PPV, Gail Kim & Maryse will team up to face Michelle McCool and Layla from Smackdown.

WWE Divas Championship tournament finals

Winner: Match postponed by Vickie Guerrero.

Gail Kim & Maryse vs. Michelle McCool & Layla

Gail Kim started things off against Team LayCool. LayCool was in control early on until Gail made her comeback. She went over to make a tag to Maryse who chose not to tag in. Gail rushed at Michelle who responded with a big boot kick. McCool quickly followed up with the Faithbreaker to win the match in under 5 minutes.

After the loss, Maryse walked over and berated Gail Kim. She hit her DDT finisher on Gail before leaving.

Winners: Michelle McCool & Layla win via pinfall over Gail Kim and Maryse.

MVP vs. The Miz
United States Title match

Big Show joined his tag team partner for the match, as Mark Henry was there for MVP at ringside. In the late stages of the match, MVP used clotheslines and forearm smashes on Miz, followed by a facebuster. MVP connected on the Ballin' elbow drop. He went for the pinfall, but Miz was close enough to put a foot on the bottom rope to break it. MVP and the ref started chatting it up, and Show pulled Miz out of the ring. MVP went to the outside, and Mark Henry got into things. He went to charge at Big Show near the guardrail barricade. Show moved away and Henry crashed right through. MVP and Miz got back in the ring, with MVP running at Miz in the corner for his boot kick. Miz avoided it, and MVP got stuck with his leg in the corner of the ring. As Miz distracted the referee, Big Show clocked MPV with the KO punch. Miz took the pinfall and retained his belt in this rematch from the Royal Rumble.

Winner: The Miz wins via pinfall over MVP to retain the United States title.

Smackdown Elimination Chamber for World Heavyweight Title

CM Punk and R-Truth were the first two competitors into the match. Early on, Truth had a catapult move sending Punk face first into the wall area. However, Punk brought his A-game and eliminated Truth five minutes into the match. Punk began to rant on the mic, and warned Undertaker he better hope his chamber opens last, because when he comes out, he'll make him tap out like he did once before. Punk said he'll prove that Straightedge means "I'm better than you."

The next pod opened and Rey Mysterio came into the match. Rey and Punk went back and forth one another, until Mysterio got the upperhand. He kicked Punk off the top rope then hit a headscissors move to send Punk out onto the ringside platform. Punk fell right on his back, but rolled back into the ring. Rey did a slingshot splash and pinned Punk for the elimination. After the countdown clock finished, the next competitor was released, Chris Jericho.

Mysterio and Jericho duked it out for a bit, but Jericho gained the upperhand towards the end of five minutes. He locked on Walls of Jericho, but John Morrison entered the match and broke things up. Jericho had the advantage as he fought Morrison, while Rey tried to recover. Rey finally got back into it but was soon backdropped over the top rope. Morrison knocked Jericho out of the ring and worked on Rey. Jericho, Morrison and Rey continued their threeway fight. With Jericho knocked out of the action for a bit, Rey went for a move from the top rope with Morrison. Morrison held onto the top rope, causing Mysterio to crash to the mat. Morrison followed with Straship Pain to eliminate Rey.

When Undertaker got into the match, Jericho had Morrison in Walls of Jericho. Jericho let go of his hold and went after Undertaker, but Taker dropped him with a big boot, then knocked Morrison out of the ring. Taker tried a pin on Jericho to no avail. He worked on Morrison some, with Morrison favoring his hurt ankle. Morrison got in control and went for the Starship Pain, only to have Taker block it with both knees. Taker sat up, so Jericho hid inside a pod. Taker tossed Morrison to the outside, with Jericho coming over to take down Taker with a tackle into the fence area. Jericho smashed Taker headfirst into the pod's glass. Taker was able to recover and overcome Jericho though. He continued to fight with Morrison, as he grabbed him with a Chokeslam and slammed Morrison on the steel platform, then brought him in the ring for a DOA pinfall.

It was now down to Taker vs Jericho, with Taker ready to rock behind a rallying chant from the crowd. Taker began to dominate Jericho, but Jericho avoided the big boot in the corner. He was able to get the Deadman into Walls of Jericho, but Taker was able to get out of it with sheer power, and put on Hell's Gate. Jericho worked his way to the ropes and escaped it. Taker went for a Tombstone, Jericho countered with the Codebreaker. The Undertaker was layed out, and Jericho crawled over for the pin. It was a near fall though, as Undertaker kicked out barely.

Taker now gained control and set up Jericho for The Last Ride. Suddenly, Shawn Michaels came out from under the steel platform. He delivered Sweet Chin Music to drop Taker to the mat. Chris Jericho made the pinfall to win the World Title. Shawn Michaels stood over the Deadman who was still KO'd on the mat. Meanwhile Jericho's music played and the new champion celebrated with title in hand as went backstage.

Winner: Chris Jericho wins the Smackdown Elimination Chamber by pinfall over Undertaker to become new World Heavyweight champion.

Elimination Chamber 2010 PPV Predictions

On Sunday, February 21st, 2010, we get a brand new installment of the Chamber, with WWE's Elimination Chamber 2010 PPV. It includes two separate Chamber matches with both Sheamus' WWE title and Undertaker's World Championship hanging in the balance. There's five eager competitors from Raw and Smackdown respectively in each match looking to take the title and pave their road to Wrestlemania glory.

In addition, we've got the WWE Divas Championship to be decided between Gail Kim and former champion Maryse. Maryse has been hungry to get her title back ever since taking time off from Raw. Once the Melina injury bug struck, it gave all of Raw's divas a glimmer of hope to win the title via an 8-diva tournament. That tourney wound up with Gail defeating Alicia Fox, and Maryse defeating Eve Torres to set up the Finals.

Gail Kim vs. Maryse
WWE Divas Championship tournament finals

Maryse has been setting up her face opponent Gail Kim for the fall in this Divas final match. In t he past month or so on Raw, Maryse has pretended to be a gracious competitor, yet anyone who understands French has probably heard Maryse speaking in her true colors. She's consistently told Gail that she's anxious to face her and looks forward to a great match. She's also said she wants to bring honor and class to the WWE Divas division. We all know that's a crock as Mr. McMahon would say. Look for Maryse to play dirty in this match and bring home her second Divas Championship reign via pinfall over Gail Kim.

Prediction: Maryse wins the WWE Divas Championship by pinfall.

Kane vs. Drew McIntyre
Intercontinental title match

This match came about after these two superstars met on Smackdown, yet no clear winner was decided. In the match, both men toppled over the top rope, and Kane beat on Drew McIntyre outside the ring, despite being counted out. After the bell, McIntyre delivered a boot to Kane's face in the ring. He got his IC belt and tried to run at Kane with it, but Kane avoided it, then hit the Chokeslam on McIntyre. Recently on Smackdown, the two wrestlers tangled again, after Kane had defeated Dolph Ziggler in a match. Kane again got the upperhand, as McIntyre was forced out of the ring to retreat. With the IC title on the line, this match will look to establish McIntyre even more. He'll likely win due to some sort of cheap shot or using an illegal weapon with the ref not noticing it to keep his undefeated nature in tact, and get a big push win against Kane.

Prediction: Drew McIntyre wins by pinfall to retain.

Raw Elimination Chamber for WWE Title

I see one of two wrestlers walking out as the champion from this one. Sheamus has been consistently shown as the overbearing warrior who attacks all competitors, and cheats to secure his title. He was recently shown hitting his boot kick on Cena, then using his finisher on Triple H to leave both guys layed out in the ring on Raw. Whoever walks out as the winner will headline WM26 as the champ, and although it's surprising to say it, Sheamus will probably retain, with some sort of cheap win against Triple H. This will set up Triple H to be in yet another Wrestlemania main event, as challenger. He may of course win the title to set up a Wrestlemania rematch with Sheamus.

So what about Cena? Well, it's looking like Batista may play a part in the match, maybe attacking Cena before it begins or once Cena's involved in the match. That will further the Cena-Batista feud which is being built into a Wrestlemania match between the two wrestlers.

Prediction: Sheamus retains the WWE Championship by pinfall over Triple H.

Smackdown Elimination Chamber for World Heavyweight Title

The Undertaker enters as the champion, but most likely is not going to leave that way. Surprisingly, expect Chris Jericho to walk out as the new champ, setting up Edge vs Jericho for Wrestlemania 26. Could the WWE have foreshadowed that matchup any more in the recent promos on Smackdown? All signs point to Jericho vs. Edge at Mania with the title on the line, and Edge likely leaving as new champion.

Meanwhile, you might also expect to see John Morrison unable to compete and replaced by Shawn Michaels, despite him Superkicking GM Teddy Long down. Michaels will find a way to pin the Undertaker or take him out of the title equation in the Chamber, and that will set up their Wrestlemania 26 rematch. Possibly the finish involves Jericho, Taker and Michaels, with Jericho winning after Michaels Superkicks Taker down.

Prediction: Chris Jericho wins the World Heavyweight Championship.

Wrestlemania 26 Match predictions

We're currently on the road to Wrestlemania 26! Based on how things have shaped up since the Royal Rumble and may play out with the coming Elimination Chamber, it's time to consider the matches we might be seeing at this year's Mania.

It's already beginning to look more and more like we'll see Vince McMahon wrestling again as he'll take on Bret the Hitman Hart in a Wrestlemania 26 clash over their 12-year long feud. Vince may try to continually duck out on the match, but it's been announced that the Raw guest host prior to WM26 is Stone Cold Steve Austin. Perhaps Stone Cold will schedule the matchup, or announce himself as the special guest referee?

Here's several more big match predictions for the upcoming Wrestlemania 26 card. These will involve the usual big time stars, such as John Cena, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton, as well as Undertaker, Chris Jericho and Edge from Smackdown!

John Cena vs. Batista - This feud re-emerged on Raw last week after the show went off the air. Cena played the role of hero to come to Bret Hart's aid in the ring following a heinous attack by Batista. After seemingly chasing off the Animal, Cena raised Hart's arm in the ring to honor the WWE Hall of Famer. However, a hellbent Batista rushed the ring a second time and tossed Cena shoulder first into the ring post. He then dismantled Cena around the outside of the ring, and ended up Powerbombing him on top of some steel steps in the ring. Cena had qualified for the Elimination Chamber earlier on Raw, but Batista eliminated himself by countout on Smackdown. Is he going to take out Batista at the Elimination Chamber PPV? It seems like a possibility because of the fact Batista isn't part of a match, yet. This match may also become the whole Raw versus Smackdown brand superiority match as well as have Vince McMahon and Bret Hart as cornermen, with Hart able to get his Sharpshooter locked on in the end.


Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker (or HHH?) - The way the story looks right now, Michaels is becoming obsessed with his quest to get a rematch against Taker at WM26. He tried to win the Royal Rumble but failed, which according to the Deadman was Michaels' best shot. It's foreseeable that since HBK didn't qualify for the Raw Elimination Chamber, he may take someone out to get into the Smackdown Elimination Chamber. R-Truth or John Morrison might be beat up prior to even getting near the Chamber at the PPV, or Michaels interferes to cost Taker the win. This will incite Taker to tell Michaels he wants to take his soul at Wrestlemania 26. Of course, WWE could always go the other way and cause this whole obsession to be the dividing point of Michaels and HHH, setting up a bigtime match between them at Mania.

Randy Orton vs. Ted Dibiase (w/Cody Rhodes) - After what transpired at Royal Rumble 2010, it seems like it's time for the Legacy meltdown to kick into gear. Since Dibiase and Orton are both part of the Elimination Chamber match, these two will probably end up battling at some point, and their feud will get sparked. I suspect that Rhodes will possibly accompany Dibiase to the ring for the Chamber, or WM26, and turn against him to aid Orton.

Edge vs Chris Jericho (World Heavyweight) - Consider this a triple main event for WM26, with Batista and Cena, and the WWE Title match also playing part. It's obvious that Edge wants Jericho badly following his injury and Jericho's insulting remarks while Edge was off. Jericho will win the Elimination Chamber due to Shawn Michaels' interference, or Batista's, or both. He'll claim the gold to continue his bragging, and Edge will have an easy decision as 2010 Royal Rumble winner.

Triple H vs. Sheamus (WWE Title) - Surprisingly, the WWE has stayed with Sheamus as its champion. A while back I predicted he'd lose the title back to Cena at Royal Rumble, but as we saw, he didn't even face Cena there. They've built up the idea that Sheamus has wins over Orton and Cena now, so that leaves HHH next. It's possible the title will be on HHH as we head into Mania, or he'll take the belt from him for yet another reign as of the big PPV.

The one guy who I'm left wondering about is Rey Mysterio, although there's been speculations that he needs surgery, as does Undertaker. It'd be hard to believe he'd want to stay away from Wrestlemania, so figuring out where he'll fit in at the event is tough right now. Maybe the Money in the Bank? So far I see Shelton Benjamin, Christian, CM Punk, MVP, Evan Bourne, John Morrison and Kane competing in that one. Mysterio has yet to compete in that match, but it seems as if it's for health reasons.

2010 Royal Rumble predictions

We're just one day away from the 2010 Royal Rumble, which includes a 30-man over-the-top-rope battle royal, with the winner getting to headline Wrestlemania 26! In that match, one man will stand victorious in the end and get to choose which title he competes for at the Wrestlemania event in March. Many superstars are vowing to emerge victorious, but clearly only one will win. Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Batista, Triple H and Big Show are amongst the favorites, as well as CM Punk and Chris Jericho. In addition to that match, there's four titles on the line. We'll see Sheamus defend the WWE title versus Randy Orton, Michelle McCool defend the Womens title against Mickie James, Christian defend his ECW title against Ezekiel Jackson, and Undertaker defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Rey Mysterio. Which superstars and divas will emerge victorious from this Sunday's huge PPV? Let's take a look at some match-by-match predictions...

30 Man Royal Rumble match

Friday's Smackdown may have given us a teaser of the finish for this Sunday's Royal Rumble match (see Rumble participants list), with HHH, Batista and Shawn Michaels. It just might come down to those three in the final spot. We've also been teased about a potential Wrestlemania feud match between Triple H and The Animal. For that reason, Shawn Michaels will win the Royal Rumble, and then get his wish, a rematch against Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26. It wouldn't be surprising to see HHH eliminate Batista, and then HBK superkick his tag partner over the ropes to cause a little more chaos amongst DX.

Winner: Shawn Michaels wins the Royal Rumble. Second pick: Batista

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
WWE Title Match

I can see one of two scenarios for the WWE title when it comes time for Wrestlemania: John Cena battles Sheamus for it, or Ted Dibiase versus Orton for it. It doesn't seem like Dibiase's ready for that spotlight quite yet, despite being a movie star and all. So Sheamus will retain here, and possibly he does so because Legacy interferes to try to help Orton, but botches it. An interesting Wrestlemania 26 match could be a Orton versus Legacy triple threat or handicap match, so stay tuned to see if that plays out. Sheamus will retain so he can brag about beating the best WWE has to offer, in a short period of time. However, Cena will win some sort of match to become #1 Contender and probably go on to win the title back at Wrestlemania. Not a bad title reign for Sheamus so far, and kudos to WWE for putting the title on a young star for this length of time.

Prediction: Sheamus retains the WWE Title.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. Christian
ECW Title match

It seems about time for the ECW title to change hands, unless of course they are planning to retire the belt with Christian. Jackson has looked strong over the past several weeks, and if Regal's allowed to remain at ringside for this fight, he'll play into it. Expect Regal to run some interference which will help Jackson score the victory and take the title back for Regal's stable.

Prediction: Ezekiel Jackson wins the ECW title thanks to William Regal's help.

Mickie James vs. Michelle McCool
WWE Womens Title

Mickie's been enduring the whole "Piggy James" treatment for weeks now at the amusement of Layla and Michelle. Just recently on Smackdown, Michelle mocked her with having Layla dress in a fat suit as Piggy James. Michelle defeated her friend in the fat suit to pretend she was beating Mickie in a title match. On Sunday it will be the real deal and Mickie will show why she's one of the best divas in the WWE today, as she reclaims the Womens title, and shuts up Michelle for a little bit. The finish may even see Layla attempt to help Michelle cheat, but have it backfire, or for Beth Phoenix to somehow figure in and allow Mickie to win.

Prediction: Mickie James wins the WWE Womens Title.

Rey Mysterio vs. The Undertaker
World Heavyweight Title

Once again, this becomes part of the whole X-factor for Wrestlemania 26's matches. If Mysterio wins, it takes the title off Taker, and would make it tougher for Michaels to get a rematch at WM with Undertaker. That would potentially set up a Batista versus Mysterio title match for Wrestlemania. Batista has to factor into all of this somehow, whether it be for a title match at Mania, or a feud match against Mysterio or HHH. If Taker remains champion, it would mean Michaels could become a World Heavyweight champ if he wins the Rumble and "ends the streak". So many possibilities to consider here, but let's go with The Undertaker to win, setting up some interesting possibilities for Wrestlemania, depending on if Michaels or Batista wins the Rumble.

Prediction: The Undertaker wins to retain the World Heavyweight title.

WWE TLC 2009 PPV Predictions

With Sunday December 13, 2009 the WWE will present its latest innovative new Pay-Per-View known simply as "TLC". The 2009 TLC Pay-Per-View event will feature a series of title matches, each with special stipulations: one's a table match, one is a ladder match, and one is a chair match. There's also the combination of all three in the ultimate match, the Tables, Ladders & Chairs match (TLC). During this event, wrestlers will need to make smart use of the weapons available to themselves in the ring, and also try to avoid them. In the WWE title match, all Sheamus needs to do is slam the champion John Cena through a table to win the title. Meanwhile, Christian and Shelton Benjamin fight over the ECW title hanging above the ring, with ladders in play as weapons and jumping off points. Undertaker and Batista do battle for the World Heavyweight title, with steel chairs fully legal as weapons, while DX will attempt to finally win the Unified Tag Team titles from JeriShow. Their match will be the most destructive of all three, the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.

So who's likely to win this Sunday? Let's take a look at all of the scheduled matches and 2009 TLC PPV predictions...

Mickie James vs. Michelle McCool
Womens Championship

This one was just announced Friday night on Smackdown, a week after Mickie earned herself the #1 contender spot for McCool's Womens title. Mickie's won that title plenty of times, and will likely win it again. If Layla's part of the equation, I see her interfering and saving McCool from losing her title. Mickie will win it eventually, just not here.

Prediction: Mickie James wins due to a DQ from Layla/McCool.

Sheamus vs. John Cena
WWE Title Tables match

Let's see, Sheamus has run over just about anyone in his path since arriving to Raw. He's knocked Cena down twice, smashed him through a table, smashed Mark Cuban through a table, and ended Jamie Noble's career. All that viciousness, and trash talk, and he hasn't received a scratch from the champ, John Cena. So that will change Sunday when once again Cena overcomes the odds to win a big match, Hulk Hogan style. Expect Cena to hoist Sheamus up for the Attitude Adjustment before smashing him through a table. Still, it's nice to see someone besides Randy Orton, Jericho, or members of DX going against Cena.

Prediction: John Cena slams Sheamus through a table to retain.

Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton

Kingston has had a huge push, and Orton has been helping him achieve it. He may even eventually be put into the championship picture against John Cena at a PPV. For now he's got to contend with Orton, and possibly Legacy. Of course, WWE could take the high road in this "rubber match" with both guys tied at 1-1, and make this some sort of draw. Let's hope that's not the case. Kofi Kingston can really get himself over as a legit WWE superstar with a major win at this Pay-Per-View. Technically, he's had several other wins over Orton if you count the Survivor Series and his elimination of Orton during Raw's Breakthrough Battle Royal. As much as I like Kingston, if the match isn't a draw, I believe Legacy gets involved, or Orton gets a very quick RKO at some point to steal the win here.

Prediction: If not a draw, Randy Orton wins in sneaky fashion over Kofi Kingston.

Drew McIntyre vs. John Morrison
Intercontinental Championship

McIntyre is the guy personally signed to WWE by Chairman Vince McMahon. In his short time with WWE he's racked up some wins over R-Truth and a few others, but the biggest victory came just recently over IC champ, John Morrison. Although it involved McIntyre's sneaky tactics outside the ring, he still picked up a pinfall victory in the ring over the current champ. That set up Sunday's IC title contest, and with the path McIntyre's been on, it's hard not to see him taking the IC title to further his career and WWE resume some.

Prediction: Drew McIntyre wins via pinfall to become the new IC champion.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Christian
ECW Title match

These guys have claimed they will put on the match that steals the show at the PPV. Most likely, they'll be in competition with the TLC match and Kingston vs Orton. However, these matches are always fun and these two competitors are especially skilled at making them that much more exciting to witness. Many believe Shelton is going to finally get a "major title" if you want to call the ECW belt that. However, there's also talks of changing ECW to a different format. That could mean retiring the ECW title altogether, or changing its name. That won't matter much in who wins this, unless they want Shelton to have won it before retiring the title. That almost makes his win less meaningful if and when it happens and he's carrying the belt. I'll take Shelton as a surprise pick here. Christian's had the title for quite a while, and Shelton's talented and gifted enough that he deserves the title at this point.

Prediction: Shelton Benjamin pulls down the ECW title.

D-Generation X vs. Chris Jericho & Big Show
TLC Tag Team title match

It's hard to believe DX has been going for so long in the history of WWE without ever winning the elusive tag team titles. On Sunday, they've got a chance at finally putting those on their tasks completed list. The event takes place in Michaels' home state where a victory would be huge for the DX team. After witnessing the beatdown of DX in the ring by tables, ladders and chairs, as well as their impressive non-title victory over JeriShow weeks back, I'm going to take the pick of DX to pick up the titles here.

World Heavyweight title Chairs match

We all know Batista's been on the warpath with his destruction of Rey Mysterio. Now he'll grapple with a familiar foe in the Deadman, with steel chairs fully legal. Rey Mysterio could come into play in this one, but I think what we will see is Undertaker deliving a Tombstone piledriver to Batista onto the steel chair, to retain his title. This also makes for one of Undertaker's legnthiest title reigns in recent time, so amen to that!

Prediction: The Undertaker retains the World Heavyweight title.

2009 Survivor Series Predictions

Survivor Series 2009 arrives with all sorts of looming questions as two champions will be defending in Triple Threat matches. The interesting part of it is the other 2 opponents are tag team partners, so everyone is wondering, will they operate as a team, will they turn against each other, and will they still be tag teams after the event? In one match, it's Cena facing DX with the WWE Title on the line. In the other, The Undertaker faces Chris Jericho and Big Show, with his World Heavyweight title up for grabs. Meanwhile, a heated feud also makes it onto this card, as the recently changed Animal will take out his agression on former friend Rey Mysterio in the ring. And don't forget the time-honored Survivor Series tradition: three compelling traditional elimination matches which are always exciting to watch. Here's a look at the match-by-match predictions for this Sunday's huge Survivor Series PPV, starting at 8PM EST in Washington, D.C.!

Team Miz vs. Team Morrison

It's always tough to predict the elimination matches, and in all reality these winners are only semi-meaningful. In this match we have the up and coming stars. Drew McIntyre could be the sole survivor, giving him more heat and bragging to do on Smackdown. Or the same could go for The Miz. I'll go with McIntyre, Swagger and Sheamus as the remaining competitors here. Swagger will cause Miz to get eliminated. All three are the newest stars who are on their current patches towards superstardom. McIntyre may be in the World Heavyweight title picture, with Sheamus competing for the WWE title very soon.

Prediction: Jack Swagger, Sheamus & Drew McIntyre are the last men left.

Rey Mysterio vs. Batista

This is the battle between former friends. We've seen the same replayed footage for weeks, where it all began at Bragging Rights with The Animal calmly announcing "I'm gonna rip your head off". Mysterio has yet to get any shots in, but he will at Survivor Series. Now they could go with the always popular heel goes psycho angle and make it a Mysterio win by DQ, leading to some further stipulation matches (Last Man Standing, I Quit, etc), but I feel Mysterio steals a pinfall victory somehow to further enrage The Animal.

Prediction: Rey Mysterio pulls off a stunning opening round victory to continue this feud.

Team Mickie vs. Team McCool

Bragging Rights gave us a divas match, so it's only right that we get one at Survivor Series. This time around its face divas versus heel divas. Team Mickie James with Eve, Melina, Gail Kim and Kelly Kelly takes on Team McCool with Michelle, Layla, Jillian, Beth Phoenix and Alicia Fox. I'm surprised at some of the divas who were included, for example why not Natalya or Katie Lea over Jillian? Anyhow, since I'm picking the other heel teams to win the traditional matches, I'll go with Mickie and Melina as the final survivors. Melina is current divas champ, while Mickie is vying for McCool's Womens Championship.

Prediction: Mickie James and Melina are the final competitors.

Team Kingston vs. Team Orton

This is where Kofi Kingston will get to shine again, or get a royal beatdown. I have a feeling it will wind up being Legacy with Orton against Kingston in the last men for this one. They could either go with some sort of heinous triple team beatdown where Legacy gets the win, or they will have Kofi go over by defeating each man one-by-one, with Orton the final survivor. As much as I hate to waiver, I'm going to say Randy Orton will defeat Kingston in the final moments, after Kingston has just finished off Legacy. Orton needs something at this point to continue looking like the top heel he always has been.

Prediction: Randy Orton is the sole survivor in the match.

Chris Jericho vs. Big Show vs. Undertaker
World Heavyweight Triple Threat

I think this will be the title we see moved at Survivor Series, due to constant nagging injuries the Undertaker has. Jericho will once again take advantage of Big Show hitting a knockout punch to collect the pinfall on Taker. That will lead to Jericho and Show having tension as the unified tag champs, ultimately feuding over the World Championship and losing their tag titles in the process.

Prediction: Jericho wins by pinfall on Undertaker after a Show KO punch.

Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H vs. John Cena
WWE Title Triple Threat

It seems likely that one of the two Triple Threat matches is going to create friction between the tag team involved. Whether that will be DX or JeriShow is the question. It's possible we see Triple H go heel to reclaim the title, but for now I'm going with Cena to retain his WWE title. They still need a heel to contend with Cena for the WWE Title after this, so HHH or HBK might be turning soon. For now the title stays on Cena.

Prediction: John Cena retains the WWE Title by pinfall on Shawn Michaels.

2009 Bragging Rights Predictions

Sunday October 25th, 2009 marks the second WWE Pay-Per-View of the month, with a fresh new name - "Bragging Rights". This event is for the ultimate brand superiority for at least a few days or so between Raw and Smackdown. It features the two major titles on the line with Undertaker and Randy Orton each defending against familiar foes. It also features two former tag partners, The Miz & John Morrison going head to head now that each has a singles title on their respective brand. And in the ultimate Bragging Rights contest, Team Raw battles Team Smackdown to determine which show holds more weight, or is superior. Let's take a look at some quick predictions for this Sunday's event...

Raw Divas vs Smackdown Divas 3 on 3 Tag Match

A Bragging Rights match for divas will see two of Smackdown's newest acquisitions team up with Michelle McCool. Natalya and Beth Phoenix were recently brought to Smackdown in the divas trade. On the Raw side you've got Melina, Gail Kim & Kelly Kelly. I'll give the edge here to the Smackdown divas because on paper they are the more talented bunch.

Prediction: Smackdown divas win over Raw divas.

John Morrison vs. The Miz

It's champion versus champion in this match, as the two former tag partners will now battle it out. Miz has the US Title, while Morrison carries the Intercontinental, and each man represents a different show. Morrison should win this one as he continues to build his momentum. A loss won't hurt Miz all that much as he won't lose his title, and he'll still be a heel who can generate some heat on Raw.

Prediction: John Morrison wins via pinfall over The Miz.

John Cena vs. Randy Orton
60 Minute Iron Man Match for WWE Title

This is an anything goes style match which could be a classic. It also carries the stipulation that should Cena lose, he must leave Raw. Having Cena lose his match to Triple H on Raw this past Monday is surely the set up for Cena to win at Bragging Rights, so he brings the title back to Raw and HHH is first in line to challenge him for it. John Cena wins this one probably with a Attitude Adjustment to reclaim the WWE Title. Orton could see a future feud coming up against his protege Ted Dibiase.

Prediction: John Cena wins the WWE Title from Randy Orton in the 60 minute Iron Man Match.

Rey Mysterio vs. Batista vs. CM Punk vs. Undertaker
World Heavyweight Fatal Fourway

There's been rumors that Batista might turn heel, so this might be the place we see him do that. Possibly he and Rey get involved in some sort of hijinx with them taking each other out. I see CM Punk finding some way to cheat to win this one for yet another title reign. He's quickly taken the place of Edge in terms of being an "ultimate opportunist". Remember, Undertaker doesn't have to be pinned to lose the title, so it's anyone's match really. Punk will take the pin on Mysterio after some sort of incident happens with Batista, while Taker is out of the equation. Then again, WWE might finally give Taker a lengthy title reign.

Prediction: CM Punk wins the World Heavyweight Title but not by pinning Undertaker.

Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown

Experience says that Team Raw is stacked when you compare them to Team Smackdown, who is a lot of younger guys plus Kane & Jericho. However, Team Smackdown has three interesting new talents that aren't really household names yet. Dolph Ziggler, Eric Escobar and Drew McIntyre provide reason to speculate that Smackdown wins to help the rising talent showcase their stuff. However, this Pay-Per-View can't be a shutout for Raw. Team Raw takes this behind their talented team including DX, Kofi Kingston, Swagger, & Big Show.

Prediction: Team Raw wins via pinfall over Team Smackdown.
