Raw & Disorder?
Monday Night's episode of Raw once again featured no General Manager running the show, allowing wrestlers to do as they pleased. Batista made himself in charge briefly, just long enough to set up a title rematch against CM Punk. The rationale was that Kane had caused a DQ the night before at Great American Bash. It made perfect sense, however Kane showed up yet again to spoil things pre-match. Then JBL showed up during Batista's momentum to cause another DQ. Punk survives to call himself champ, yet again, but not due to wrestling skill or a huge victory. Punk's wins have mainly come thanks to the help of JBL, Kane and John Cena.
Even more compelling is the feud that was set up at the end of the Punk-Batista match. John Cena arrived to fight off JBL but wound up clotheslining Batista. The two faced off with Batista trying for the Batista Bomb on Cena, and Cena trying for the F-U on the Animal. Most likely a preview of a big Summerslam match to come? If so this could be the start of a great feud between two fan favorites on Raw. Most likely they will also be fighting for the World Heavyweight title at some point, maybe even Wrestlemania. Either way, Raw still needs some order, so the McMahons, William Regal or someone should be back in charge soon.
Meanwhile, ECW made very little sense with whatever direction it's going with Colin Delaney Tuesday night. It's great to see stories that don't fit the mold, but you'd fully expect some sort of interference by Mark Henry and Tony Atlas when Colin Delaney faced Dreamer on ECW. However the two heels showed their true colors leaving Delaney to fight for himself. Delaney was once again decimated by an opponent despite having his ECW contract. It may have made more sense for Henry and Atlas to assist Delaney in getting the big win to set up a feud with Dreamer. Dreamer's nowhere near the title picture right now, which appears like it's heading towards Matt Hardy.
