Raw & Disorder?

Monday Night's episode of Raw once again featured no General Manager running the show, allowing wrestlers to do as they pleased. Batista made himself in charge briefly, just long enough to set up a title rematch against CM Punk. The rationale was that Kane had caused a DQ the night before at Great American Bash. It made perfect sense, however Kane showed up yet again to spoil things pre-match. Then JBL showed up during Batista's momentum to cause another DQ. Punk survives to call himself champ, yet again, but not due to wrestling skill or a huge victory. Punk's wins have mainly come thanks to the help of JBL, Kane and John Cena.

Even more compelling is the feud that was set up at the end of the Punk-Batista match. John Cena arrived to fight off JBL but wound up clotheslining Batista. The two faced off with Batista trying for the Batista Bomb on Cena, and Cena trying for the F-U on the Animal. Most likely a preview of a big Summerslam match to come? If so this could be the start of a great feud between two fan favorites on Raw. Most likely they will also be fighting for the World Heavyweight title at some point, maybe even Wrestlemania. Either way, Raw still needs some order, so the McMahons, William Regal or someone should be back in charge soon.

Meanwhile, ECW made very little sense with whatever direction it's going with Colin Delaney Tuesday night. It's great to see stories that don't fit the mold, but you'd fully expect some sort of interference by Mark Henry and Tony Atlas when Colin Delaney faced Dreamer on ECW. However the two heels showed their true colors leaving Delaney to fight for himself. Delaney was once again decimated by an opponent despite having his ECW contract. It may have made more sense for Henry and Atlas to assist Delaney in getting the big win to set up a feud with Dreamer. Dreamer's nowhere near the title picture right now, which appears like it's heading towards Matt Hardy.

WWE's Minor League - The ECW

Lately, WWE's ECW show has taken on the feel of more of a developmental or training league. Similar to Major League Baseball's A divisions, where teams test and train prospective talent, or the NBA's Developmental League, ECW showcases up and coming high-flyers and new stars. Recent examples include Evan Bourne, Colin Delaney and Ricky Atlas. They're part of what Teddy Long calls a new initiative to find talent for WWE.

Some great examples of how ECW stars have translated over to bigger success on other WWE shows are CM Punk and Kofi Kingston. Both guys were recently drafted to Raw and both captured titles on the show. Of course they each received a helping hand from major stars. CM Punk benefitted from Batista's attack on Edge, while Kofi Kingston took advantage of Shawn Michaels' ringside distraction. Punk is now the World Heavyweight title holder while Kingston holds the Intercontinental title. Ryder and Hawkins are another good example as they were originally known as the Major Brothers over on ECW, then headed to Smackdown and eventually formed part of Edge & Vickie's La Familia clique.

With all these newcomers and up and coming talent, you'd have to wonder why ECW scheduled a Mike Knox match against Shannon Moore. Knox seemed like a good move off of ECW with the recent draft. He'd easily portray a Snitsky like character on Smackdown that would help give new stars a push. Then again, he can fulfill the same role on ECW, losing to the likes of Evan Bourne and Colin Delaney. And on a final note, how about a return of the Cruiserweight or Lightweight title, giving the rising stars of ECW another title to fight for?

ECW Recap 07.01.08

ECW Recap from Tulsa, Oklahoma:

Highlights were shown of Mark Henry winning the ECW title at Night of Champions. Henry took advantage after Kane superplexed Big Show off the corner, by splashing onto Kane for a pin.

Mark Henry was introduced to the ECW crowd as brand new champion. Henry began to brag about winning and how he's the savior of ECW for bringing its title back home. As Henry continued to brag, he was interrupted by Tommy Dreamer who came to the ring along with Colin Delaney.

In the ring, Dreamer asked Henry if he realized the legacy which accompanies the ECW belt, and all of its former owners. Dreamer said he wanted to be the first man to challenge for the ECW title. Henry laughed it off and said he would need to earn the title shot. Then Henry said he meant Colin Delaney will need to earn it for him. Henry said he would wrestle Delaney later and if Colin wins, Dreamer gets an ECW title shot.

Matt Hardy was shown walking backstage along with Hornswoggle & Finlay. Finlay kept squirting both men with a squirtgun until Finlay hit him with a fake hammer.

Matt Hardy, Hornswoggle & Finlay vs. Chavo Guerrero, The Miz & John Morrison

Chavo was accompanied to the ring by his bodyguard, Bam Neely. For the first part of the match the heel trio kept Finlay isolated and away from a tag. Finlay was thrown to the outside of the ring and Chavo tried for a slide dropkick. Finlay was ready and held the side apron cover up to catch Chavo, then hammered him on his back. As Miz and Morrison came over to attack, Finlay grabbed Hornswoggle and threw him at the tag champs.

After a commercial break, Matt Hardy was in the ring for the fight, but Miz, Morrison and Chavo continually kept him isolated. Matt was finally able to escape after hitting a Side Effect on Morrison. In came Finlay to battle Chavo. Finlay hit one Celtic Cross on Chavo, but the ring turned into an all out fight. As the ref was restoring order, Hornswoggle was able to Frogsplash Chavo. Finlay clocked Bam Neely over the head with a shilaleigh as he tried to get on the side apron. As the ref turned, Finlay hit a second Celtic Cross slam on Chavo and picked up the pinfall victory.

Winners: Finlay, Hornswoggle & Matt Hardy win via pinfall over The Miz, John Morrison and Chavo Guerrero.

The Raw Rebound showed highlights of last night's huge Money in the Bank cash in by CM Punk to defeat Edge for his World Heavyweight title. Later, JBL challenged Punk for the title on Raw. Before the match, John Cena threw his name into the mix as a title contender. JBL came out and declared "Marshal Law" and had Cena removed by a personal security team. In the main event, JBL faced Punk for the title and had his security guards flank the ring. Cena reappeared with Cryme Tyme and the 3 men stormed down to attack the security team. Punk took advantage by grabbing a distracted JBL to hit the GTS for the win.

In a locker room Tommy Dreamer asked Delaney why he was bothering to put himself in a match against Mark Henry. Delaney said he realized what the ECW title means to Dreamer. Delaney said his dreams came true when he was put onto ECW's roster and anything is possible, even him beating Henry.

Teddy Long shown in his office with his assistant Tiffany and another man. Armando Estrada entered the office and seemed frustrated. The unidentified man tried to introduce himself and offered a handshake to Estrada. Armando said he didn't care who he was. Teddy then told Armando there's a new ECW superstar initiative he started, and introduced him to the man, Atlas Ortiz, ECW's newest member. Estrada asked what made this guy so great. Teddy told Estrada he could find out when he faced him in the ring, next.

Atlas Ortiz vs. Armando Estrada

Newcomer to the ECW roster, Atlas Ortiz, debuted against former ECW GM, Armando Estrada. Estrada seemed to dominate the rookie for the early part of the match. At one point, Ortiz whipped Estrada to the corner then charged him, but missed. Ortiz hit the ringpost and injured his shoulder giving Estrada something to exploit.

Estrada continued trying to wear down Ortiz by using holds on his hurt shoulder. Ortiz started to mount offense with armbar takedowns and then flipped Estrada up and over his back to the mat. After a high dropkick from Ortiz, Estrada kicked out of a pin attempt. Estrada came off the ropes at Ortiz and tried for a clothesline. Ortiz smartly ducked then hooked Estrada's arms and used a backslide pin to win.

Winner: Atlas Ortiz wins via pinfall over Armando Estrada.

Colin Delaney vs. Mark Henry
To Earn ECW title shot for Dreamer

Colin Delaney mounted a very brief bit of offense in the match by punching at Henry in the corner, but it was mostly the Mark Henry show. Henry tossed Delaney around the ring with Dreamer watching from ringside. After a headbutt, Henry pressed Delaney up over his head then let him fall to the mat. Henry followed with a huge powerslam/splash to pin Delaney to the mat.

Tommy Dreamer quickly got in the ring to defend Delaney and prevent any further attacks from Henry. Henry held the ECW title up proudly and continued to smirk as he left the ring and walked up the ramp.

Winner: Mark Henry wins via pinfall over Colin Delaney. Tommy Dreamer doesn't receive an ECW title shot.

Natalya will be one of the competitors in a match to crown a new "Diva title holder".

In tonight's diva match, Kelly made a comeback after Victoria dominated for quite some time. Kelly was able to do a handstand on the apron and tried for a headscissor on Victoria. Victoria grabbed both of Kelly's legs then shoved her off the apron, causing Kelly to land outside the ring face first. The ref eventually counted out Kelly Kelly who was completely out of it. Afterwards WWE officials and medical staff attended to Kelly Kelly.

Winner: Victoria wins due to countout of Kelly Kelly

Armando Estrada vs. Finlay

Finlay came to the ring with Hornswoggle but didn't need his help with Estrada. Finlay was able to take control of things, eventually hoisting Estrada onto his shoulders. Winner: Finlay wins via pinfall over Armando Estrada.

Winner: Colin Delaney wins via pinfall over Armando Estrada.

Armando Estrada vs. Hornswoggle

Teddy Long gave Estrada one last chance to win a match, and told him he could now face Hornswoggle. Estrada was already beaten up and down on the mat clutching his injuries. Hornswoggle climbed the corner for his trademark Frogsplash down onto Estrada, then took the pin.

After the final Estrada loss, Hornswoggle, Finlay & Delaney did Irish jigs in the ring. In the spirit of fun, Delaney took Hornswoggle's hat and put it on, then continued dancing. Delaney put the hat on Finlay who wasn't amused. Finlay returned the hat to Hornswoggle. The father/son duo started to leave the ring, then Finlay turned and clocked Delaney over the head with a shilaleigh.

Winner: Hornswoggle wins via pinfall over Armando Estrada.

When ECW returned from a commercial break, Mark Henry was already in the ring with a mic in hand. Henry called out Big Show, who soon came down to the ring. Henry told Show he wanted to congratulate him for earning the #1 contender spot against Kane. Henry added he'll be 1st to challenge Show when he wins the ECW title. Mark Henry then extended a handshake. Show shook his hand but held the grip tight so Henry couldn't leave. Show put Henry on notice that if he keeps campaigning for an ass whooping, he'll get one. Henry left the ring. Show then added that he will leave Night of Champions as new ECW champ. Show began to walk up the ramp, but just then Kane's music came on. The Big Red Macine walked down the ramp and he and Show had a stare down. Eventually Show allowed Kane to pass so he could head to the ring for the main event.

CM Punk & Kane vs. The Miz & John Morrison

Highlights shown from last week's main event, where Kane defeated CM Punk. Afterwards, Miz & Morrison came down to attack Kane in the ring, setting up tonight's match.

During tonight's back and forth match, Punk seemed to hurt his ribs which he kept clutching at. At one point, Punk had Morrison down for a pin, but the Miz came in to break it up. Miz then ran over and kicked Kane off the apron. Punk turned and delivered a kick to Miz, sending him out of the ring. Morrison was able to capitalize as he caught Punk and stunned him, then delivered his Moonlight Drive finisher for the win.

ECW ended with Punk down in the ring as he and Kane looked out at Miz & Morrison holding their titles up.

Winners: The Miz & John Morrison win via pinfall to retain the WWE Tag Team titles.

Estrada punched Delaney in the gut, then knocked him to the mat. Estrada picked up Delaney for a finisher and went to suplex Delaney up. Delaney flipped over Estrada's back then rolled him up near the ropes for a pinfall victory! Matt Hardy joined Delaney in the ring to celebrate his big win.

Winner: Colin Delaney wins via pinfall over Armando Estrada.

Armando Estrada was shown in a back office talking to Teddy Long, pleading for his wrestling career. Estrada asked Teddy to keep him around at least until the draft so maybe he can go to Raw or Smackdown. Teddy said Estrada would have to stay on ECW as a wrestler and prove himself, just like Colin Delaney. Teddy said he was going to watch his first ECW main event, but had one more word of wisdom. Teddy left, but Ron Simmons was standing behind Estrada. Estrada turned, and Simmons paused for a moment before yelling "DAMN!" in Estrada's face.

Kane took control early on and was able to hammer away at Punk in the corner. The ref moved Kane back, and Punk was able to start fighting back. Punk eventually clotheslined Kane over the top rope, but Kane landed on his feet, then pulled Punk out. Kane delivered a huge shot to Punk, knocking him down outside, then tossed him back in the ring.

Kane continued to beat on Punk in the corner of the ring, then choked him a bit. Punk escaped a choke submission move with Kane holding him up. Punk mounted a bit of offense, but Kane regained control. Kane was eventually able to deliver a huge boot to Punk which knocked him out of the ring. ECW headed to commercial with Punk laying out of the ring.

ECW returned with Kane stretching Punk out in the ring to wear him down. Punk fought out of it and came off the ropes, then tried to use the same type of submission on Kane. Kane countered then used an armbar takedown to bring Punk to the mat. Kane continued to dominate more with Punk doing his best to fight back. Kane used a bodyscissors down on the mat to wear Punk down even more. Punk used his elbow to fight out of it then got up to start kicking Kane. Punk gained momentum off the ropes, then did a Sunset Flip but couldn't score the pin.

The two began to trade punches with Kane eventually knocking Punk back down. Kane was sent to the corner ropes but came back to clothesline Punk down to the mat. Punk recovered though and delivered several knees to Kane's face in the corner. Kane did a sideslam of Punk from the corner, but couldn't capture the pin.

Punk was able to jump off the corner ropes to bulldog Kane down. Kane escaped the pin and used a sideslam on Punk, then went to the corner ropes. Kane jumped off with a clothesline to knock Punk down. Again Kane went for the pin, but Punk escaped at 2 1/2. Kane signaled for the Chokeslam. Punk stood up and Kane grabbed him, but Punk got a high kick to Kane's head. Punk went off the ropes, but Kane threw Punk over. Punk held onto the ropes then pulled himself to the apron. Punk tried for the springboard, but Kane caught him for the chokeslam. Punk countered it and went to hoist up Kane for GTS. Since Punk couldn't lift Kane, Kane was able to get him in a chokeslam and finally take the pin.

Winner: Kane wins via pinfall over CM Punk.

After Kane was victorious, The Miz and John Morrison rushed into the ring to attack. Miz and Morrison knocked Punk outside the ring then beat up Kane. Kane was able to fight back and grabbed Miz in a chokeslam attempt, but Morrison delivered a kick to save Miz. After more of a beatdown, Miz delivered the Reality Check to drop Kane to the mat. The Tag team champions backed up the ramp smiling and raised their arms with Kane still down on the mat looking out at them.

Show whipped Dreamer to the ring corner and ran at him, but Dreamer avoided it then dropkicked Show in the leg to bring him down. Dreamer tried for a DDT with Show escaping. Heyman counted the 3 count to award Big Show the ECW title.

ECW returned with Shelton Benjamin joining Mike Adamle and Tazz at the commentator's table. Adamle asked Shelton about ending Kofi's undefeated streak. Shelton said his game plan was executed perfectly last week to end Kofi's win streak.

Kofi Kingston vs. Mike Knox

Kofi jumped up onto Knox' shoulders in the corner of the ring and tried to bring him down for a pin. Knox responded with a vicious clothesline to knock him down and then started the attack. Knox was able to hammer Kofi down to the mat and kept him down with a headlock. Kofi fought back to his feet, but Knox hammered him again. Kofi went to the ropes and used his quickness to propel himself into Knox several times. Knox finally went down and Kofi went to the corner. Knox charged him but Kofi flipped onto the apron then used the ropes to deliver a kick to Knox. Knox started bleeding under his eye, and Kofi was able to deliver the spinning Jamaican Buzzsaw kick to take the pinfall.

After the win, Shelton made a sneak attack on Kofi in the ring from behind. Kofi was able to fight back and punched back at Shelton. Just then, Mike Knox was back to his feet and hit Kofi from behind. Knox grabbed Kofi and used his finisher to slam him to the mat before leaving the ring. The ref made sure Shelton couldn't do more damage to the fallen Kingston.

Winner: Kofi Kingston wins via pinfall over Mike Knox.

Highlights shown from the September 4, 2007 ECW title match with Morrison defending the title versus CM Punk. It was Punk's last chance to win the title and he made good on it, by defeating Morrison with the GTS to win the ECW title.

Highlights of the January 22, 2008 ECW title match were shown between Chavo Guerrero and CM Punk. Vickie Guerrero and Armando Estrada made it a "No DQ" Match which allowed Edge to interfere by spearing Punk down, helping Chavo win the ECW title.

CM Punk vs. Chavo Guerrero

Chavo was accompanied to the ring by his bodyguard, Bam Neely. Punk went for the GTS early on but Chavo escaped and rolled out of the ring. Chavo got back in after regrouping then tried to use quick kicks on Punk. The two grappled with Punk bringing Chavo down to the mat. Both men got to their feet with Punk using kicks to the back of Chavo's legs. Punk took control as he whipped Chavo to the ropes then slammed him down for an elbow drop. Punk's momentum shifted to Chavo who started to beat Punk around the ring, throwing him face first to the corner. Punk made a comeback until Chavo slammed Punk on his gut onto the top rope. Chavo started to wear Punk down on the mat using a headlock down on the mat. ECW went to break with Chavo in control.

As ECW returned, both men were fighting back and forth on their feet. Chavo whipped Punk to the ropes then charged at him, but Punk was able to dump Chavo out of the ring. Bam Neely went over to check on Chavo as Punk looked on from the ring. Neely went to the opposite side of the ring and waited for Punk to run against the ropes. Neely pulled down the top rope causing Punk to spill out of the ring. The ref started to count Punk out, and Chavo attacked him outside the ring. Chavo couldn't finish off Punk with the pin as he brought him back in, so he squeezed Punk's torso with his legs.

Punk gained the energy to get up and slam Chavo down. Both men were down with the ref counting, as Chavo crawled over to attack Punk. Punk battled out on his feet. As Chavo whipped Punk to the corner, Punk came back to spin kick him in the face. The battle continued with both men getting the best of each other. Chavo was able to avoid Punk and rolled him up for the pin, pulling on Punk's tights.

Winner: Chavo Guerrero wins via pinfall over CM Punk.

Highlights shown from when Tommy Dreamer won the ECW title on April 22, 2000. A teary-eyed Dreamer thanked the fans saying he "might never make it to Wrestlemania, but made it in an ECW arena".

Raw Rebound covered last night's episode of Raw where Mr. McMahon vowed to show the fans appreciation. At the end of the show, Vince said the 2008 WWE Draft will occur in 4 weeks to mix up the various rosters. Vince said the fans deserve even more, and as he always says "it's all about the money". Vince said his epic idea is to give away cash money each week on Raw. Vince ended by saying he will give away the sum of $1 million each week.

Lena Yada interviewed Colin Delaney backstage. Lena asked Colin what he thinks about Vince's big announcement and the upcoming WWE draft. Delaney says he loves how WWE makes people's dreams come true like they did by giving him a contract. Colin added he wants to stay on the ECW roster, but wouldn't mind seeing GM Armando Estrada go to a new show.

Night of Champions from a year ago was shown, where Punk battled John Morrison for the vacant ECW title. Morrison was able to pick up the surprise win after a swinging neckbreaker off the ropes.

Kane vs. John Morrison & The Miz
2 on 1 Handicap match

Morrison walked over and grabbed the Singapore Cane from off the commentators' table then cracked it down on the table in front of Mike Adamle several times. Miz arrived the ring next, followed by their opponent, the ECW champ Kane. Morrison started it off ramming Kane to the corner then tagging in Miz to help attack. Miz and Morrison continued doubleteaming Kane in the corner, then Morrison tagged back in to choke Kane against the ropes. Miz tried to attack from the outside but Kane caught him around the neck with his hand. Morrison hammered down Kane to save his partner.

Miz tagged in yet again, but this time Kane was able to deliver a solid boot to his face. Kane began to clean house of the tag champs, eventually knocking Morrison out of the ring. Kane delivered a clothesline off the ropes to bring Miz down, then got ready for the chokeslam. Morrison slid back into the ring to attack. Kane had both men ready for the chokeslam, but they fought out. Miz and Morrison continued to doubleteam Kane, causing the ref to call for the bell.

As Miz and Morrison kept beating on Kane, CM Punk ran down to try to save Kane from the attack. Chavo Guerrero came running down next to attack Punk, followed by Tommy Dreamer. All 6 men fought each other in the ring, until Big Show's music hit. Show came down and knocked Punk down, then started to beat on Morrison and Dreamer. Show and Kane cleaned the ring of the other wrestlers, then stared each other down in the ring as ECW ended.

Winner: Kane wins due to disqualification of Miz and Morrison.

ECW's 100th Missing Pioneers

It was interesting to see the format for last night's "Grand 100th Episode of ECW", as it didn't have the same feel as Raw's big anniversary episode did. You'll recall the episode of Raw featured everyone from The Million Dollar Man to IRS to Trish & Lita, to Undertaker & Stone Cold Steve Austin. While the Rock and John Cena were absent, the episode payed a good tribute to the WWE's top cable TV show which has run for over 15 years, Monday Night Raw.

The ECW 100th show offered just 4-5 highlights from the previous episodes, and no returning stars. It kept with the format from most weeks, yet had some of the current roster (Richards, Miz & Morrison, Shelton) commentate on matches for good measure. Mike Adamle opened the show in the ring for a bit of the time as well to discuss his accomplishments, fumbles, and promises to do a better job. Kelly Kelly revisited her strip dance show, "Kelly's Expose", but it ended in a brawl with fellow diva Layla.

Colin Delaney may have had the highlight of the program as he officially beat ECW's General Manager, Armando Estrada, to finally earn himself a WWE Contract. As mentioned before, Delaney could become the next 1-2-3 Kid type star (X-Pac), with the skinnier body size. While it doesn't seem like he will win the ECW belt any time soon, he could eventually transfer to another show and pickup the Cruiserweight title if it were to return.

It was surprising that the man who helped make ECW famous, Paul Heyman was MIA, as were bigtime stars from the show such as Rob Van Dam, Sandman, and Sabu. For WWE to bring ECW wrestlers onto Raw in order to promote the show, you have to also wonder why a few of the Raw wrestlers involved in ECW could not have shown up for the 100th episode. Big Show and Hardcore Holly as well as Great Khali have all mbeen part of the show. Even the Boogeyman or his counterpart, Mini-Boogeyman could have arrived to make an appearance just to shake things up. Luckily, a Tommy Dreamer vs. Mike Knox "Extreme Rules" match gave the show a good return to form for the most extreme brand of WWE.

Striker took control early using several moves before trying a pinfall. Kofi was able to duck a Striker clothesline, then got a huge vertical leap dropkick. Kofi continued using his quickness and did a double leg drop, but failed to capture a 3 count.

Striker battled back and punched Kofi to the ropes, then tried to throw him out of the ring. Kofi bounced back off the ropes and hit a roundhouse kick to knock Striker down for the pin. Kofi's victory was shortlived, as Shelton rushed into the ring, kicked Kofi, then hit his finisher to plant him face first into the mat.

Winner: Kofi Kingston wins via pinfall over Matt Striker.

Backstage, Colin Delaney was shown walking on his way to the ring with various wrestlers lined up to applaud him. CM Punk, Jimmy Wang Yang, Shannon Moore, Nunzio and several divas were amongst those encouraging Delaney.

April 3, 2007 the 43th episode of ECW was shwon with the ECW Originals taking on the New Breed in an Extreme Rules match. The match ended with Elijah Burke running into a table in the corner and hurting his knee, but able to grab a pin on Sabu for the win.

Colin Delaney came down to the ring for his wrestling contract opportunity, and then ECW General Manager Armando Estrada came down to the ring, wearing just a vest to show off his 8-pack abs.

Colin Delaney vs. Armando Estrada
Colin's ECW Contract match

Delaney tried to roll up Estrada as soon as the bell rang, but Estrada kicked out, then took control. Armando started to punch away at Colin in the corner then threw him into the middle of the ring. Armando failed at the pin but put an armlock on Delaney down on the mat. Delaney got to his feet to fight out, but Estrada pulled his hair and yanked him down to the mat. Smackdown Rebound covered last Friday's incident with Undertaker set to defend his title against Great Khali. The match was canceled as Vickie Guerrero and Edge showed up on the ramp. Vickie told Undertaker his choke hold is too dangerous and not legal, and he's injured too many wrestlers. Vickie told Undertaker the hold is banned and his title is stripped. Vickie ordered Taker to bring the title up the ramp to her, but since he wouldn't she sent Khali to the ring. Taker delivered a huge boot to Khali to knock him down, then slapped the Chokehold on Khali. As Taker was busy with the hold, Ryder & Hawkins ran into the ring, grabbed the World Heavyweight title and ran it up to Vickie Guerrero.

CM Punk & Kane vs. Bam Neely & Chavo Guerrero

WWE Tag Team champs John Morrison and The Miz joined Adamle and Tazz at ringside to call the match. Kane started off with Neely and the two traded shots at one another. Kane eventually gained the advantage, slamming Neely down then tagged in Punk. Punk flipped over the top rope onto Neely and began to attack. Punk tried to run at Neely several times, but Neely wouldn't fall. Neely hit Punk with the shoulder to knock him down, then Chavo came in.

Punk got the upperhand, but Chavo battled back. Chavo punched Punk to the corner where Neely was. As the ref turned, Neely tried to get a shot in, but Punk turned to knock him off the apron. Chavo charged at Punk near the ropes, but Punk lifted him up to toss him out of the ring. Neely was there to catch him as ECW went to commercial. ECW returned with Punk holding Neely in a wristlock, then kicking him. Neely eventually countered a Punk move and whipped him hard to the corner, before eventually tagging Chavo in. Chavo began to take it to Punk and seemed to have the advantage as he kept Punk down with his arm pulled back. Neely and Chavo began to isolate Punk, keeping him away from Kane for the tag.

Eventually, all four men got into the ring and began battling. As Kane cleared Neely from the ring, CM Punk was able to hoist Chavo up on his shoulders then hit the GTS for the pinfall victory. As ECW ended, Miz and Morrison held their tag team titles up for Kane and Punk to see from the ring.

Winners: CM Punk & Kane win via pinfall over Bam Neely & Chavo Guerrero.

As Colin stood up, Kozlov delivered a boot to his face. Kozlov continued to kick and stomp Colin. WWE Rewind was off Natalya defeating Cherry last week on Smackdown using a Sharpshooter submission hold. After the victory, Natalya celebrated on the ramp with her pal Victoria, while Michelle looked at Cherry in the ring.

Michelle McCool & Cherry vs. Victoria & Cherry

Footage shown from earlier tonight when Victoria and Natalya were harassing Cherry in a lockerroom. Michelle came in and Victoria remarked "Look who it is, Yahoo's most searched person". Natalya asked Michelle how long she was typing her name in for tonight and Michelle retorted if that was the case it gives them more time to get ready for the match later.

Michael Cole noted that over the weekend Michelle was the most searched person on Yahoo. In this matchup between WWE Divas, Michelle took it to her opponents, getting the best of Natalya and then Victoria. Michelle tagged in Cherry who did a flying cross body onto Victoria but couldn't score the 3 count. Cherry had a few impressive moves against Victoria, then was shoved into the corner where Natalya was. Cherry turned and shoved Natalya off the apron. Victoria tried to kick Cherry as she turned back, but Cherry caught her foot, then slapped her. Cherry tried to run off the side ropes, but Natalya snagged her foot to trip her. Natalya did her best to grab Cherry's foot but Cherry stretched to get the tag to Michelle. McCool came in and splashed Natalya in the corner. Michelle ripped off part of Natalya's top and the ref went to throw it to the side. As Michelle was climbing the corner ropes for a move Victoria shoved her, allowing Natalya to gain the pinfall while pulling on Michelle's tights.

Winners: Natalya & Victoria win via pinfall over Michelle & Cherry.

Cole and Foley replayed the end of the World Heavyweight match from Backlash, with Edge going for the pin. Undertaker countered and slapped his Triangle Choke Submission hold on Edge to win it. Edge spit up blood and required a stretcher to be taken out of the arena. Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero came to the ring and screamed and cried as Edge was taken away. Michael Cole posed the question will the same happen to Great Khali later tonight?

Nunzio vs Mark Henry

As he came out to the ramp, Nunzio motioned for someone to come out from backstage. All of a sudden, Big Show's music came on and Show came down to the ring with Nunzio. Show stayed in Nunzio's corner for the match.

Mick asked Batista's feelings regarding the match. Batista said he won't make excuses, he was beat and that's the bottom line. Mick asked Batista if he felt Shawn faked the leg injury to win the match, and Batista said it would make him sick to think HBK did that. Batista delivered the message to HBK that he better be hurt for real, because if not he will be.

Jesse & Festus vs. Ryder & Hawkins

Festus went into a rage as the bell rang and he chased down Ryder & Hawkins. Festus used headbutts to the gut of Hawkins down on the mat, then tagged in Jesse for a move off the ropes. Ryder came in to break up the pin. Hawkins managed to jab Festus in the throat, and the big man started to clutch his throat as if injured badly. Festus staggered over and Jesse slapped him for a tag. Jesse climbed the corner then tried to fly off the top ropes at Hawkins. Hawkins moved out of the way then did a spinning neckbreaker to finish Jesse off.

Winner: Ryder & Hawkins win via pinfall over Jesse & Festus.

Julio Dinero vs. Finlay

Early on Finlay dropped Dinero to the mat then suplexed him. Finlay was aggressive early on as he rammed Dinero in the corner then punched at him. Dinero tried to retaliate but Finlay clotheslined him down. Finlay was able to toss Dinero out of the ring as he charged at him from the ropes.

On the outside Finlay rammed Dinero into the side apron area. All of a sudden Dinero was tripped and pulled under the ring. Finlay pulled him back out and Hornswoggle was on the other end holding Diner's legs. Back in the ring Finlay continued to control the match, eventually using the Celtic Cross to finish off Dinero.
After the bell, Finlay put Dinero near the corner ropes so Hornswoggle could jump off and Tadpole Splash onto Dinero.

Winner: Finlay wins via pinfall over Julio Dinero.

Footage shown of Undertaker using the Triangle Choke submission on various opponents such as Big Daddy V, Mark Henry and most recently Edge. Undertaker kept the hold locked on Edge even after the bell, causing Edge to spit up blood. Vickie Guerrero was wheeled down to the ring by Teddy Long and screamed out about the fallen and bloody Edge.

Great Khali vs. The Undertaker
World Heavyweight Championship

After Undertaker arrived to the ring, all of a sudden Edge's theme music came on. Teddy Long wheeled Vickie onto the top of the ramp and Edge accompanied them. Vickie said there would not be a title match tonight. Vickie told Undertaker he's injured other wrestlers with his choke hold and chokeholds like that aren't allowed in WWE. Vickie said it is her responsibility to look after the well being of other superstars, then told Undertaker that from this moment on the choke hold is banned. Vickie warned Taker if he ever uses the chokehold in a match again, he will have hell to pay.

Vickie told Undertaker that she's under extreme pressure from regulatory authorities and Undertaker has officially been stripped of the World Heavyweight title. Vickie told Taker to bring the title up the ramp to them, but Taker wouldn't budge. Great Khali came out from backstage then went down to the ring to try to retrieve the title. Undertaker layed the belt down in front of him for Khali to come get.

After the two men stared at each other, Khali walked up to Taker and crouched down to pick up the belt. Undertaker delivered a serious kick which leveled Khali, dropping him to the mat. With Khali down, Undertaker applied the Triangle Choke. While Taker kept the hold locked in, Ryder & Hawkins snuck into the ring and stole the World Heavyweight title, running it up the ramp to Edge & Vickie. Undertaker finally released the hold as Khali had passed out. Smackdown ended with Taker staring up the ramp at Vickie and Edge as they went backstage with his World Heavyweight belt.

Is the Cruiserweight Title Done?

The last time we saw the Cruiserweight title it was held by the man, the myth, the legend, Hornswoggle. The leprechaun was forced to vacate the title because Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero told him it was too dangerous for him to hold the title as a McMahon. Since that infamous date in WWE history, we have yet to see a return of the title. It makes fans wonder, will we ever see the title return?

It's not the first WWE title to vanish. Two other titles come to mind with the European and the Hardcore titles both being eliminated as WWE gold. The European title was a launching point for stars like Hunter Hearst Helmsley, while the Hardcore title had the interesting premise of "defend it 24/7, anywhere". The Cruiserweight signified a division of wrestlers who weren't as heavy as some of the larger stars, but competed for the prestige of the title. Previous holders of the title included Jamie Noble, Chavo Guerrero and a longtime champion, Gregory Helms. Hornswoggle won the title in a surprise move at a PPV when he hit a frogsplash off the top ropes, after appearing from under the ring. He successfully defended it at least twice against a frustrated Jamie Noble.

It would be interesting to see this title make a comeback with a tri-brand tournament to determine a new Cruiserweight champion. I think it would make a great match at a Pay Per View following Wrestlemania and could involve names like Stevie Richards, Kenny Dykstra, Santino Marella, Cody Rhodes, Jamie Noble and even the rookie Colin Delaney. A guy like Cody Rhodes seems a worthy ambassador to hold that tile right about now, or the WWE could push it as Delaney's first big title win in WWE. So bring back the cruiserweight, because that is the stuff WWE legends and stories are made of..

Miz and Dreamer started things off, and Dreamer gained the upperhand. Miz soon escaped his grasp and was able to tag in Morrison. Dreamer again got the upperhand and went to run off the ropes. Delaney hit his back for a tag, and Dreamer turned to ask what he was doing. Delaney asked to get into the ring, so Dreamer grabbed the rope and catapulted Colin onto Morrison down on the mat. Colin followed with a dropkick to knock Morrison back down. Despite the small bit of offense, Morrison was back to his feet and clotheslined down a running Colin Delaney.

Morrison and Miz proceeded to start a beatdown and double team on the rookie Delaney. Miz slammed Delaney by yanking his hair to slam him to the mat. The tag champs continued the onslaught, but Dreamer came in to break up their pin attempt. After hanging Miz upside down in the corner, Dreamer ran at him and connected on a dropkick. Dreamer hit Miz with an inverted DDT, then Morrison slid back in to attack. Dreamer knocked him down quick and Morrison rolled out of the ring.

Miz tried to counter Dreamer's attack and had him stunned. Miz came off the ropes but Dreamer shoved him to the other ropes where Delaney was standing. Colin's arm hit Miz but it also caused Colin to fall onto the apron. Dreamer capitalized with a DDT on Miz for the pinfall.
