Undertaker to Rise at Summerslam

Friday's Smackdown made the revelation most WWE fans had been waiting for. The Undertaker will make a return to the WWE, thanks to Edge cheating on Vickie Guerrero and destroying their wedding celebration. On Friday night the Smackdown GM Guerrero dropped the bombshell on Edge that the Deadman will come back. His first event, Summerslam. His first opponent (or victim), Edge. Edge was of course horrified and stunned by the prospect, while Vickie simply cackled and couldn't contain her vindictive laughter. Undertaker has made it a recent trend of leaving then returning at PPV's. His title reigns have been much shorter, most likely due to age, or injury bugs, but you'd have to expect Wrestlemania 25 may bring his legendary career to its close.

Smackdown also revealed Triple H's next title defense opponent, also for Summerslam. HHH gets to take on the massive Great Khali, who is no stranger to big title matches. Khali faced John Cena for the WWE title several times over, and also won the World Heavyweight title for 1 title reign on Smackdown. Khali won a battle royal Friday night to become #1 contender. For a while it appeared Jeff Hardy may be back in the title picture, but shockingly Khali picked up Hardy and discarded him over the ropes. Most fans would have preferred Hardy or Big Show in the main event for Summerslam, but it seems Triple H now has to prove he too can beat Khali, after beating Cena.

If Summerslam adds a John Cena vs. Batista match, this could be a Pay Per View to behold, excluding the Khali match. Edge and Taker always provide great outcomes and twists and turns in their matches. Matt Hardy will also be taking on Mark Henry for the ECW title, and Hardy seems primed for another big title reign. His brother Jeff looks to be in a feud with a familiar foe, MVP, who gave Matt trouble for some time. Other possible matches for Summerslam could see Paul Burchill facing Kofi Kingston for the IC title, Mickie James defending her Women's title and the cocky young tag champs of Rhodes and Dibiase facing the likes of Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Jerry Lawler.
