Smackdown Preview 07.24.08

Tonight's Smackdown will feature fallout from this past weekend's Great American Bash Pay-Per-View, including the latest in the short but troublesome marriage between Edge and Vickie Guerrero. During the Bash, Edge competed for Triple H's WWE Title, but the match was interrupted thanks to wedding planner Alicia Fox and Vickie Guerrero. Alicia tried to come to Edge's aid by tossing him the WWE title belt. Vickie Guerrero got involved trying to fight Alicia. Edge accidentally gave a Spear to his wife Vickie, allowing Triple H to hit the Pedigree and retain the title. How will Vickie Guerrero respond to this on Smackdown? Will Edge be facing a tough match due to his costly mistake? Will Triple H find a new #1 contender for the WWE title?

Another title that was decided for the first time ever at the Bash, the WWE Divas Championship. In the match, Natalya faced Michelle McCool over the new belt. Michelle was able to use her powerful submission move to force Natalya to tap out, giving Miss McCool the title. Now Michelle is sure to have a target on her as other divas are looking to capture the title. Will Natalya try to challenge Michelle for the title again? Or will a new diva come forward to become the #1 contender?

The United States Championship also changed hands at the Great American Bash. Matt Hardy gave a valiant title defense, only to be defeated by the Gold Standard, Shelton Benjamin. Now with Shelton holding the title, who will be the first superstar to challenge for the US title?
