Smackdown Preview 02.27.09
Tonight's episode of Smackdown will feature a classic confrontation in the ring between two well known brothers. Matt and Jeff Hardy will bring their feud into a match for the first time in a long time, since their recent issues. Things really started when Matt betrayed Jeff by hitting him with a steel chair, causing Jeff to lose the WWE title to Edge months ago during a Pay-Per-View. Last week saw Matt interfere yet again during Jeff's main event contest with Edge on Smackdown. After Jeff had completed a Swanton Bomb on Edge, Matt Hardy suddenly appeared and attacked, bringing Jeff to the mat with a Twist of Fate. With Jeff layed out on the mat, Matt Hardy layed down the challenge, announcing he would compete versus his brother on Smackdown. Tonight's the night for these two brothers to finally clash. Will one brother still stand when the dust settles, or will nothing be settled by just one match?
In another Smackdown story, John Cena of the Raw roster has put both Edge and wife Vickie Guerrero on notice that he'll be after them. This past week on Raw saw Cena challenge Edge to a rematch, with Vickie Guerrero intervening. Vickie instead told Cena he'd face her "friend" or maybe her "family". Later in the night, Cena faced Vickie's family, but it was Chavo Guerrero and not Edge as Cena had requested. Cena won the match in quick fashion and has let it be known that he's going to keep showing up wherever Vickie Guerrero goes, until she gives him his title rematch with Edge. Will Cena show up on the Smackdown brand tonight, and what will Vickie have in store to try to stop him from his quest for the WWE Title?
Two other Smackdown stars who have recently been talked about in WWE news and conversations are Vladimir Kozlov and The Undertaker. Kozlov has seen winning ways since arriving to Smackdown, steamrolling through his competition one by one. Meanwhile, The Undertaker looks to head to Wrestlemania 25 to defend his legendary undefeated streak. His opponent will be either Raw's Shawn Michaels or the aforementioned Kozlov from Smackdown, with a match to be held on Raw next week. Will either Vladimir Kozlov or the Undertaker see action on Smackdown?
Also expected to be in action are United States Champion, Shelton Benjamin, the Colons and John Morrison and The Miz! Catch Smackdown at 8PM EST on MyNetworkTV!
