Smackdown Preview 03.06.09

This past week on Raw, General Manager Vickie Guerrero (of Smackdown & Raw) made a huge announcement concerning the World Heavyweight Title match for Wrestlemania. Moments earlier, former champ John Cena finally wrestled in his rematch for the title against current champion, Edge. In the match, Cena and Edge battled in front of the Boston crowd, with Edge grabbing his title belt in the end and disqualifying himself. Cena was left the winner, but without the World Heavyweight Title he had sought to reclaim. As Edge stumbled up the ramp, he fell back at the top. Just then, Big Show appeared but not to lend a helping hand. Instead, Show was there as Vickie Guerrero arrived out and announced Big Show would be competing for the World Heavyweight Title now, as the #1 Contender. Both Cena and Edge were shocked by this announcement, which seems to have Cena out of the title picture. On Friday Night's Smackdown it's expected that Big Show and Edge will sign the official contract for their Wrestlemania 25 match. What will go down as the contract signing takes place in the squared circle? Will there be any objections raised to the contract signing?

There will be a familiar matchup taking place on Friday's Smackdown as Matt Hardy and MVP will go one-on-one. This time there's no titles on the line, but instead a trip to the Wrestlemania 25 Money in the Bank Ladder match for the winner. MVP has been on an impressive win streak since finally squashing his losing streak. Meanwhile, Matt Hardy has made it clear that he wants to fight his brother Jeff, and went as far as slapping him several times to incite him. Despite all that, Jeff has refused to fight his own brother in the ring. Now MVP and Matt will clash for the chance to join CM Punk, Kane and Mark Henry in the Ladder Match. Will Jeff be watching this matchup as it goes on? Who will earn the next spot for the MITB Ladder Match?

Two other Smackdown stars who are already inked in the Wrestlemania 25 card are Triple H and Undertaker. Triple H has recently come back to Monday Night Raw as he was in search of Randy Orton. Now, Orton has finally decided to challenge HHH for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania 25. Will Triple H make an appearance on Smackdown again? Undertaker will be heading to the huge event to defend his impressive undefeated streak of 16-0. Recently on Raw, a match went down between Shawn Michaels & Vladimir Kozlov to determine his opponent for Mania. The Heartbreak Kid won a grueling matchup, handing Kozlov his first loss in singles action since joining WWE. Undertaker made his presence felt immediately after Michaels' victory. What will Undertaker have to say on Smackdown regarding Shawn Michaels and Wrestlemania?
