Neville defeated Bad News Barrett via pinfall. (Pre-show match)

The match appeared on the Extreme Rules Kickoff show. Barrett had Neville set up on the ropes late and went for a Bullhammer but Neville avoided it. Moments later, Neville was able to land a kick followed by the Red Arrow for the victory.

Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper - Chicago Street Fight

The match eventually went outside the ring and then backstage. Harper got into an SUV of some sort parked at the garage exit. He got in the driver's seat to start up the car but Ambrose jumped in the passenger side as it drove out the garage exit. The commentators were shown looking baffled as to how the match was going to finish with no cameraman or ref with them.

Backstage, Triple H was texting someone on his phone when Kane came in. HHH told him to go find Harper and Ambrose. Just then, Rollins walked in. He and Kane got into a bit of a war of words. HHH told Kane to get on the same page as Rollins tonight. Kane reluctantly agreed after telling Rollins he's been an ungrateful punk since winning the title.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Sheamus via pinfall in a Kiss Me Arse Match.

Sheamus went for a Brogue Kick late but Ziggler avoided it for a near fall. Moments later, Ziggler got the inside cradle pinfall win. Post-match, Sheamus kept ducking out in disgust not wanting to honor the stipulation. At one point, Dolph set up with Sheamus kneeling down behind him to kiss his arse. Instead, Sheamus hit a low blow and attacked Ziggler. He got the mic and said he wasn't going to kiss Dolph's arse in this awful town. Sheamus, move aside part of his trunks and then rubbed Ziggler's face on his arse instead before leaving the ring and going backstage to boos.

Big E and Kofi Kingston defeated Tyson Kidd and Cesaro via pinfall to become new tag team champions.

Late in the match, Cesaro had control but Woods got up on the apron to interfere. The ref told him to get down, and then Natalya came over to slap him. Tyson Kidd rushed over to kick him down to the floor. Cesaro set up for the winning move but Big E came in to disrupt it. Moments later, Kofi was able to roll up Cesaro from behind to steal a win, making New Day the new champs.

Backstage: Renee Young interviewed the new champs who said A New Day is going to start now. Just as they were doing a “New Day, New Champs” chant, the black SUV from earlier that had Harper and Ambrose in it came crashing into the nearby scene. Harper fell out in front of New Day. Dean Ambrose climbed up on top of the SUV and jumped off taking out all of New Day. He and Harper ended up going back out to the ring.

Dean Ambrose defeated Luke Harper via pinfall in the Chicago Street Fight.

Back in the ring, about ten chairs ended up in play, with Harper able to knock Ambrose onto the mat and pile chair after chair on top of him. Harper climbed up onto the corner to jump but Ambrose busted out from under the chairs, rushed over and slammed Harper from the corner onto the chairs. From there, he hit Dirty Deeds and took the pinfall cover to win.

Rusev vs. John Cena (C) - United States Championship Russian Chain Match

The rules had Cena and Rusev chained together with the winner having to tap all four corners of the ring in succession while chained to their opponent. At one point, the crowd was chanting “We Want Lana” so she got up on the apron to acknowledge the chants. Rusev got upset and told her to get down and motioned for her to head backstage. A distraught Lana walked up the ramp and backstage as the crowd started a “No” chant. Back in the ring, Cena hit a backbreaker and then eventually put on the STF until Rusev seemed out. Cena managed to touch 3 corners of the ring to bring up green lights, but Rusev rolled out of the ring to prevent the 4th one. The close saw Cena able to tap two corners and Rusev able to reach two. They each tapped a third with the court one up for grabs. Cena managed to yank Rusev away from reaching it, then hit the AA before tapping the final corner for the win.

Daniel Bryan vs. Bad News Barrett - Intercontinental Championship

Nikki Bella defeated Naomi via pinfall to retain the WWE Divas Championship.

At one point, Naomi put a full nelson on Nikki and then dropped down to the mat to stun her, before wrapping her legs around her torso, twisting and making a pinfall cover. The ref pulled Nikki away from Naomi at one point because she was in the ropes. With Naomi hanging out of the ropes towards the end, Brie delivered a kick to her with the commentators saying it was payback from before. Nikki grabbed Naomi and hit the Rack Attack to get the pinfall win.

Roman Reigns defeated Big Show in a Last Man Standing Match.

Two tables were set up outside the ring, with Show able to toss Reigns out and through them late in the match. Reigns still managed to get up and remain in the match. Later, Show went over and ripped up the steel steps and then the commentators table with JBL, King and Cole all getting up to avoid harm. Back in the ring, he had Reigns against a table set up in the ring. Show charged and tried to jump on him for a splash with Reigns moving aside and Show crashing through the table. The ref started a count but both guys got up with Reigns connecting on a big Spear. On the outside of the ring, Show was leaning against the timekeeper barricade area. Reigns rushed around the ring and then landed a Spear to crash Show through the barricade. Both guys got up yet again.

Moments later, Show grabbed Reigns and stood on the commentators table to try a chokeslam. Reigns elbowed out and got off the table, then set up for a Spear which he landed by running up some nearby steps and crashing Show through the table. Show managed to get up to beat the official’s count, but Reigns was able to lift up the announce table and shove it over on top of Show’s lower half. With Show pinned under the table, the ref started counting. Reigns stood on the table for extra weight as the ref’s count hit 10.

Backstage segment: Kane was walking backstage when he came upon Randy Orton. Orton told him they’ve known each other for a decade or so and fought side-by-side and against one another. Orton suggested that Kane needs to do the right thing for himself tonight because The Authority will just keep using him.

Cameras cut back to the carnage at ringside from the previous match with Cole, JBL and King still standing up to commentate. They introduced a promo video about the new WWE Tough Enough.

Bo Dallas came out to cut a promo about how bad Chicago is and the negative things they are #1 in. The crowd started getting on him and he went to deliver his “All you gotta do is Bo-“ line when Ryback’s music hit. Ryback came to the ring and ran through several moves including Shell Shocked on Dallas to get the crowd in a frenzy. He led them in a “Feed Me More” chant to close the segment.

Byron Saxton started interviewing Rusev backstage, but Rusev started yelling into the mic that Cena is a cheater and has never beat him. Lana showed up and Rusev asked her something in Russian. She said "It is done, the final chapter of Rusev vs. Cena will come at Payback in an I Quit Match." Rusev gloated saying that is the perfect match for him to defeat Cena and his American pride. Rusev walked off with Lana trailing behind.

Seth Rollins defeated Randy Orton by escaping the cage through the door in a WWE Championship Steel Cage Match. Orton's RKO move was banned from use in the match. Kane will serve as "gatekeeper" outside the cage door.

Rollins made attempts to get out of the cage at one point going for the door with Kane having to unlock it. Orton grabbed him to prevent it. Again, Rollins tried to scale the cage, but Orton climbed up to fight him down. Rollins hit a quick move to drop Rollins to the mat then ran and hit him with an elbow in the corner of the ring.

Late in the match, Orton had Rollins down so he dropped to the mat and began to pound his fists like he does to set up for the RKO. Rollins stood up staggering and Orton kicked him in the gut, then set up and hit the Pedigree to mock HHH. He took the pinfall but Rollins managed to kick out last second. With Rollins down near the cage door, Orton looked at Kane for a moment at the door. Orton moved back then prepared for a punt kick. He ran and went for it but Rollins moved out of harm’s way, then landed a kick to drop Orton. Rollins told Kane to open the door, which Kane did. The champ started to crawl for the opening but Orton grabbed him and hit a backbreaker.

Orton saw Rollins was down then saw the open door and walked over to exit. Kane pushed the door closed and held it. Orton screamed at him asking what he was doing. Rollins charged for Orton who moved aside causing Rollins to kick the door and knock Kane to the floor. Moments later, Kane slammed the door on both Rollins and Orton. He ripped off his suit jacket at ringside and got into the ring enraged. J&J followed him in telling him to stop but he hit a double chokeslam on them. A few moments later he went over and looked at Orton and Rollins on the mat. He put up his hand for a chokeslam then reached down and grabbed Orton, picked him up and hit the move. Rollins got up and went for the door, but Kane grabbed him and hit another chokeslam on him.

Kane rolled Rollins on top of Orton thinking it was the winning pinfall. As Kane went to exit, Orton kicked out at the last second. Kane turned and went to grab Orton again, but Orton retaliated and hit the RKO on Kane. Rollins was back to his feet and delivered an RKO on Orton, then crawled out the open cage door with both Kane and Orton down.

Rollins fell to the floor clutching the championship belt. The commentators bickered over Orton using an RKO in the match on Kane, with King saying Kane wasn't part of the match and JBL saying it didn't matter. King said he thought the RKO was banned, but JBL said it wasn't banned for Seth to use it. Cole wished fans good night from Chicago.

The Shield made their standard entrance through the crowd. Commentary was being handled by Cole, Lawler and JBL, with Cole noting that The Authority ordered Dean Ambrose to defend the U.S. Title in a 20-man battle royal to open the show.

Sheamus won a 20-Man Battle Royal to become the new United States champion. The match featured Jack Swagger, Alex Riley, Ryback, R-Truth, Fandango, Santino, Goldust, Kofi Kingston, Heath Slater, Dolph Ziggler, Mark Henry, Damien Sandow, Cody Rhodes, Titus O’Neil and Sin Cara. It came down to a final five of Ambrose, Ryback, Axel, Sheamus and Swagger. Ambrose was able to eliminate Axel, then kicked Ryback in the knee on the apron to send him off the apron. Post-match, Triple H walked out onto the stage and said that The Shield was extremely lucky at Extreme Rules but it looks like now their luck is running out. He booked Shield to face Wyatt Family later on Raw.

Backstage Sheamus was interviewed about his US title win. He told Renee Young he had been spinning his wheels since his comeback to WWE, and this was the perfect time to step back into glory. When asked what he’d say to Ambrose about having to face 19 other mean, Sheamus smiled and said “No hard feelings fella.”

Rob Van Dam defeated Cesaro due to disqualification. At one point in the match, Cesaro tied RVD into the ropes in a Tree of Woe and kept throwing punches at him. The ref warned him to stop and when Cesaro didn’t, the ref called for the bell. Cesaro kept on with the attack after the bell, and Heyman told him to walk away before getting suspended.

The Wyatt Family did an in-ring promo with Bray sitting in his rocking chair. Footage was shown of the boy singing in a demonic voice during last night’s cage match that Bray won against Cena. He talked about how the innocent eyes of the children “see right through John Cena.” He said Cena calls him a monster and he is, because he believes the world has to be burned to the ground and reborn in his image. Wyatt said he does this for the children, for the poor man begging on the streets to the teenaged girl who wakes up crying thinking she isn’t pretty enough to be prom queen. He said people will remember Bray Wyatt for what he really is, “A god.”

Ryback defeated Cody Rhodes via pinfall. Late in the match, Axel tried to interfere from the outside but Goldust rushed over to stop him. Axel fought Goldust and drove him into the ring post. Cody was on the top rope and fell onto Ryback. Ryback caught Rhodes and hit Shellshocked for the win.

Daniel Bryan and Brie were shown backstage, with Bryan warning Brie to stay nearby. The lights went out in the room they were in so they left. The camera revealed a Kane mask covering the light. Bryan and Brie went into the hall and saw Stephanie. Bryan confronted Steph insisting she knows what’s going on. She played dumb then told them to stay put and she’d have their car brought to the building.

Los Matadores and El Torito held a Cinco de Mayo in-ring celebration with Torito throwing candy into the audience. 3MB came out with Hornswoggle to interrupt. Torito tried to give some candy to Hornswoggle, but they got into a fight. Los Matadores and Torito got the upper hand in the fight, clearing out the heels.

Alexander Rusev defeated Kofi Kingston via submission. The match lasted just under 3 minutes. Kofi had some momentum and tried to springboard with a cross body but Rusev caught him, then slammed him. Lana gave the order to crush Kofi, so Rusev did so and put on the Accolade finisher to cause Kofi to tap out.

Backstage in the parking area, Bryan and Brie went to their car. Bryan opened the door first and looked around for Kane. They both got into the car. All of a sudden someone knocked on the glass window and Brie screamed. Stephanie was there and told Bryan he needs to compete in a match now or will be stripped of his title. Raw went to commercial break.

Daniel Bryan defeated Alberto Del Rio via submission in a non-title match. The match lasted over 15 minutes. Bryan hit several dropkicks late and then a suicide dive onto Del Rio on the floor. Bryan got up on the top rope, but Del Rio came back with a kick to the head. However, moments later Bryan responded by locking on the Yes Lock to make Del Rio tap out.

Post-match, Kane’s music and pyro went off so Bryan raced to bring Brie to the car backstage. When they got to their car it wouldn’t start. Bryan looked under the hood and said a wire was unplugged. He put it back in and slammed the hood down, but then saw Kane in the backseat behind Brie. Kane and Bryan got into a fight with Bryan able to fight off Kane and get into the car. Kane tried to grab Bryan through the sunroof, but Bryan hit the gas causing Kane to fall off the car. Bryan got out to check on Kane who soon sat up. Bryan rushed back into the car to drive off with Brie, with Kane smiling at the incident.

Bad News Barrett defeated Big E via pinfall to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Late in this one, E hit several belly-to-belly suplexes, then lowered a strap on his singlet. Big E went for the finisher, but Barrett slid off and raked his eyes. Barrett followed with a Bull Hammer for the win.

They had an in-ring appearance from Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger. Colter talked down about Cinco de Mayo being just May 5 in the U.S. and an excuse for Americans to get drunk. He listed off a bunch of WWE stars who need to be deported right now: Cesaro, Emma, Sheamus, Paul Heyman, Santino and Paige. Suddenly Colter was interrupted by Adam Rose’s theme song. Rose’s entourage danced onto the stage followed by Rose with the Rosebuds. They danced their way to ringside. Rose got in the ring and danced around Colter and Sagger a bit. After the music stopped, Rose took the lollipop out of his mouth and offered it to Zeb. Zeb told him to get back. Rose told him to be a “rosebud, not a lemon.” Swagger charged at Rose who backdropped him out of the ring. Rose’s entourage got in the ring and all dance around Zeb who eventually escaped the ring.

The Wyatt Family defeated The Shield via pinfall. Late in this one, The Shield set up for a Triple Powerbomb on Bray Wyatt. Evolution’s theme music hit to interrupt that idea. All three of Evolution headed to the ring in their new t-shirts. Shield cleared Wyatts out then Rollins and Ambrose hit suicide dives out onto Orton and Batista. Reigns hit a Superman Punch on HHH too, but then Bray Wyatt was right there to hit a running splash on him. He followed that with Sister Abigail for the pinfall win.

Post-match, Evolution kept attacking Shield, including a near Pedigree by HHH on Reigns. Reigns backdropped Hunter, but Orton hit an RKO to take down Reigns. Triple H hit a power bomb on him, then all of Evolution Triple Powerbombed Reigns to finish Raw.

Among those in action will be Daniel Bryan, Big E, John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista, The Shield and the “Big Red Monster,” Kane. Fans can find match-by-match results listed out below.

El Torito defeated Hornswoggle in the WeeLC match via pinfall. This match was featured on WWE Network for the exclusive online pre-show. Late in the contest, Torito took out the rest of 3MB then hit a springboard off the top rope to crash through Hornswoggle on a table in the ring, grabbing the pinfall win.

Cesaro defeated RVD and Jack Swagger in a Triple Threat match via pinfall. Heyman was out to introduce his new client and pronounced this event as "the one night that WWE gets it right out of the whole year." During the early part of the match, Cesaro hit a huge Superplex from the second rope to bring Swagger to the mat, and then RVD leapt off the other corner to hit a Five Star Frog splash for the win. Swagger was eliminated first and headed backstage. Late in the match, RVD had control of things after kicking a trash can into Cesaro’s face in the ring. He set up the trash can on top of Cesaro then went for the Five Star. Cesaro slid the can up to block his face, causing RVD to land face first on it. From there, Cesaro grabbed RVD and hit the Neutralizer onto the can for the pinfall win.

A trainer was working on Daniel Bryan backstage, helping him with his left arm. Stephanie walked in and asked for a few moments to talk to Bryan. She warned him that she's afraid of what Kane might do to him tonight. She brought up she's afraid for Bryan for his wife Brie and his mother. Steph told Bryan he doesn't have to compete tonight and he could officially surrender the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Bryan told her to get out of his face. He said he was going to walk into the match as champion and then walk out the same exact way. Stephanie told him he won't be walking out as champion, but he'll be walking out as "Kane's b---h."

Alexander Rusev defeated R-Truth and Xavier Woods in a 2-on-1 handicap match via pinfall. Lana came out to give a pitch that tonight's match was dedicated to the most dangerous man in the world, her role model, idol and her president, Valdimir Putin. She then introduced the Bulgarian Brute, Alexander Rusev. Before the bell even rang, Rusev kicked Woods into R-Truth then went to the outside to beat up on both guys. He smashed Woods face first into the bottom of the ring apron, then took Truth in the ring. Truth barely got up and agreed to the ref to start the match on his own. Rusev hit a swinging side slam before stomping on Truth for a pose and then putting him into The Accolade. Truth soon tapped out of it with the ref calling for the bell. Post-match, Lana ordered Rusev to deliver more destruction on the outside as he slammed Woods backwards onto the hard floor before posing with Lana.

Bad News Barrett defeated Big E for the Intercontinental Championship via pinfall. At one point, Big E was able to spear Barrett off the apron to the outside in a big spot. Later, Barrett hit Wasteland in the ring for a near fall. Big E hit a huge move of his own in the corner for a pinfall attempt of his own. Big E hit a big splash then pulled a strap down to go for The Big Ending. Barrett escaped his grasp and then prepared for the below. Big E ducked it once, but then Barrett flew at him to knock him down with the Bull Hammer for the title win.

The Shield defeated Evolution via pinfall. Late in this one, Reigns had a pinfall on Batista, but HHH and Orton yanked him out of the ring. HHH then hit a Pedigree on Reigns and tried to put Batista on him for a pinfall, but Ambrose was able to break it up. Ambrose and HHH fell to the outside, then Orton hit an RKO on Reigns. Batista went for ap infall again with Rollins breaking it up. Orton yanked Rollins out of the ring. Orton, Rollins, HHH and Ambrose started fighting up into the stands. HHH and Orton managed to great Ambrose down to the floor. Rollins dove out onto them from bleachers, with Ambrose and Evolution crashing down in a pile. Meanwhile, Reigns gained momentum in the ring hitting a Superman Punch on Batista, followed by the big Spear take down for the pinfall win. Post-match, Reigns went up near the ramp to pick up Ambrose and Rollins. The other two staggered on their feet, then all three men put their fists together in unison.

Bray Wyatt defeated John Cena via pinfall in a steel cage match. During the match, Harper and Rowan were on the outside of the cage, guarding the floor and the door so Cena couldn’t get out. At one point Cena was about to go out the door after knocking Bray down, but Harper and Rowan were there to hold the door closed. Cena tried to force it open but Bray hit him from behind and The Wyatts slammed the door on John. Later, Cena was climbing up the wall only for one of the Wyatts to meet him at the top. Cena battled him to the point of knocking him down to the floor, then started to climb out, only for the other Wyatt to meet him towards the bottom of the cage with a chair. Later still, Cena managed to put a STF on Wyatt by countering Sister Abigail. Wyatt was halfway out of the cage door, but Cena managed to pull him back inside. Cena managed to hit an Attitude Adjustment off the corner, but Harper was still in the cage and broke up the pinfall.

Cena once again began to climb up the wall but was met by one of the Wyatts again. He battled him on the top of the cage wall, leaving him hanging up there. Cena managed to climb back down into the ring and knocked down Bray and the other Wyatt. With all three now out of commission, Cena began to slowly crawl to the door, then pulled himself up and started to exit. The Wyatt sound effect hit and the arena went dark. All of a sudden, a creepy voice started singing “Whole world in his hands” and the lights returned. A young boy was standing right outside the door staring at Cena singing. Cena froze in his tracks looking at the kid, before Bray rushed over and grabbed Cena to hit Sister Abigail. Post-match, Bray hugged the kid on the outside, before Harper and Rowan led the kid up the ramp to leave.

Paige defeated Tamina via submission to retain the WWE Divas Championship. During the match, Paige charged at Tamina and was able to tackle her to take her to the outside. Paige went back up on the apron and Tamina grabbed her leg. Paige stomped on her hand on the apron then went for a head scissors, only to have Tamina whip her against the crowd barrier. Back in the ring, Tamina put Paige on her shoulders and climbed the ropes with her for a move. Paige countered by power bombing Tamina off the corner for another near fall. Moments later, Paige ran the ropes and hit a flying cross body with Tamina catching her for a side slam. The finish saw Tamina go for a Superkick on Paige, but Paige caught her foot, then turned it into a Sharpshooter-style submission including pulling Tamina’s arms behind her back. Tamina soon tapped out to give Paige the match.

As Paige was celebrating her win, the Wyatts sound effect went off and the place went dark. The Wyatts showed up on the big screen with the little boy from the cage match earlier. Bray told “Little Johnny” he did very good out there tonight. Bray said his message can no longer be ignored as Cena’s hopes and dreams are trapped in a box. He handed the boy a sheep mask with the little boy putting it on before the segment went out.

Daniel Bryan defeated Kane via pinfall to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in an Extreme Rules match. Daniel Bryan tried to stage an attack on Kane on the ramp as Kane was making his entrance. Kane got the upper hand and tossed Bryan into the barricade, then found a kendo stick under the ring to hit Bryan with a few times. Bryan managed to get control back in the ring by hitting a bit running knee and then clotheslining Kane out over the top rope. On the outside, Kane landed a huge boot to take down Bryan. At one point, Kane used several steel chairs in the ring and ended up side slamming Bryan onto one that was set up in a seated position. Moments later, Bryan hit a running dive out into Kane against the barricade. He pulled the top off the Spanish announce table and hit Kane with that, before ripping apart the U.S. announce table too, using pieces to hit Kane. Kane turned the tables and slammed Bryan into one of the tables then pulled monitors off the other. Kane stood up and grabbed Bryan for a chokeslam, but Bryan elbowed him off then hit a flying DDT off the table to take Kane to the floor.

Towards the end of the bout, Bryan managed to get Kane knocked down then went way across the other corner to climb up. The crowd gave a “Yes” chant as he got ready and flew off for a diving headbutt. To the crowd’s surprise Kane got a shoulder up before 3. Bryan got the crowd into another change with Kane still down. All of a sudden, Kane sat up, but Bryan ran at him for the big knee. Instead, Kane grabbed him around the throat and chokeslammed Bryan for a near fall. Later still, Bryan grabbed a steel chair and smashed it on Kane multiple times before putting him into the Yes Lock. Kane struggled looking ready to tap, but crawled over and grabbed a kendo stick to hit Bryan with. Bryan grabbed it from him and used it to put another submission hold on, but Kane pulled himself to the outside to recover. Bryan did a running dive move, but Kane caught him then chokeslammed him through the announce table.

With Kane in control on the outside, he grabbed a table and set it up on the outside then retrieved a plastic gasoline container from under the ring. Can dowsed the top of the table with the gasoline, then lit it on fire drawing plenty of cheers from the crowd. He got up on the apron to grab Bryan, but Bryan kicked him then yanked the ropes causing Kane to fall backwards through the enflamed table. Immediately, a WWE staffer rushed over to spray Kane with a fire extinguisher. Kane stumbled around near ringside then rolled back into the ring. Bryan was waiting and hit his running knee then grabbed the winning pinfall to retain the title. Post-match, Bryan celebrated with the belts up on the ramp doing his “Yes” chant with the crowd. Kane stood up looking enraged from what just happened, then threw his arms up and down to set off his pyro, staring out at Bryan as the PPV ended.

2014 WWE Extreme Rules Matches (Updated)

As of Monday’s episode of Raw, several new matches were added to the official 2014 WWE Extreme Rules card. Among them will be the first-ever “WeeLC” match featuring Hornswoggle vs. Torito, as well as a Triple Threat match, and the finalized match for the Intercontinental Title. These three matches join several other great bouts on a stacked card for Sunday’s big event.

The WeeLC match doesn’t feature any stipulations, but one might expect it to mimic the TLC match (Tables, Ladders & Chairs). Hornswoggle and El Torito squared off on Smackdown about a week ago and now will take their feud to the next level. The match is scheduled to appear on WWE’s pre-show for Extreme Rules.

Also joining the card will be the Intercontinental Title match featuring Big E defending his title. Bad News Barrett was the winner of the #1 contender’s tournament after defeating RVD in the tournament finals on Monday’s Raw. Barrett now gets the title shot during the pay-per-view. Van Dam will be inserted into a Triple Threat match against feuding stars Jack Swagger and Cesaro, with no stipulations as of this writing.

Those matches join John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt in the steel cage, Paige vs. Tamina (Divas title), The Shield vs. Evolution, R-Truth and Xavier Woods vs. Alexander Rusev, as well as the big WWE World Championship match. In that matchup, Kane takes on Daniel Bryan for the title in an Extreme Rules match.

The pay-per-view arrives this Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on various cable and satellite providers. WWE mentioned on Raw that DISH and DIRECTV won’t be among those providers on Sunday, but encouraged fans to subscribe to WWE Network online to see the PPV.

Raw Results 04/28/14

Raw results from St. Louis, MO:

Raw opened with John Cena doing a promo speech inside the ring with the steel cage down to talk about the fans voting for him to face all three Wyatts last week. He questioned why they did it to him, then suggested that he has to stop Bray Wyatt from spreading his message and corruption by making sure he doesn’t escape the cage on Sunday. The Wyatts showed up after the arena went dark with a chorus of kids singing the “Whole world in his hands” song. Eventually Wyatt led the kids towards the ring, they all put on sheep masks. Wyatt had one kid on his lap in his rocking chair and laughed at Cena in the ring who looked frustrated by the scene.

The Uso Brothers defeated Ryback & Curtis Axel via pinfall to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships. During the match, Jey seemed to hurt his thigh at one point which made it look like they were in danger. Axel hit a Perfect Plex late on one of the Usos, but the other Uso had made a tag to become the legal man and hit a top rope splash onto Axel for the win.

Sheamus defeated Titus O’Neil via pinfall. While Sheamus was making his entrance to the ring, Titus attacked him from behind and kept beating him down the ramp to the ring. However, Sheamus still told the ref he was good to go. The match started and after a Brogue Kick, Sheamus was your winner in about 35 seconds.

They had a segment where Dolph Ziggler was in the ring and introduced tonight’s celeb guest, Hugh Jackman from “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Jackman hugged Ziggler in the ring before Ziggler brought up footage of Jackman punching him out when Dolph was facing Zack Ryder last time around. Ziggler and Jackman shook hands over it after Dolph said who better than the baddest superhero on the planet to punch him out. Damien Sandow came to the ring to interrupt, dressed in a bad looking Magneto costume. He taunted both guys in the ring then pretended he had Magneto’s powers. Jackman pretended the mic was getting pulled from his hands then threw it at Sandow. Jackman hit a hip toss on him, then Dolph hit a Zig Zag to finish Sandow off.

Cesaro defeated Jack Swagger via pinfall. Late in the match, Zeb was able to trip Cesaro from the outside. Heyman rushed over to yank on Zeb’s mustache. The distraction caused Swagger to lose focus and Cesaro got him into a bridge pin.

HHH said he brought Shield into the world and will take them out of it. Shield’s music hit and they all came to the ring. Roman Reigns was intro’d for the main event. Suddenly, Ric Flair’s music hit and he came to the ring to talk.

Flair said he’s seen world greatness come full circle. He said he’s surrounded by superstars exemplifying power, style and grace. Flair said “But what I’m talking about now is The Shield.” He shook hands with all The Shield members then turned and winked at Evolution before leaving.

Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton ended in a no contest. Reigns hit a late Superman Punch to take control but Orton and Batista intervened so the ref called for the bell. Shield was about to go for a Triple Powerbomb on HHH but Orton and Batista got some chairs to try to run in. Ambrose and Rollins kicked them away with Hunter escaping the ring. Raw Results 05/20/13

Raw Results from Kansas City, MO:

An ambulance drove into the arena with its sirens going, then stopped inside near the ramp/stage.  Ryback hopped out through the back doors with a mic, then climbed up on top of it to give a speech about last night, saying Cena left with the title, despite there being no clear winner.  Ryback proposed an ambulance match for the next PPV: WWE Payback.  Ryback said he'll send Cena to the medical facility and everyone else to the morgue with him.  Ryback went on a rant to insult the audience as being lazy, fat and lacking goals.  After his speech, the commentators talked over the upcoming match at Payback between Ryback and Cena.  They switched over to news that Paul Heyman will introduce his newest client on Raw tonight.

The Miz and Chris Jericho defeated Fandango and Wade Barrett via submission.  During the match, Fandango and Barrett got into words with each other, with Fandango deciding to leave the ring apron at one point.  He picked up a mic and gave a pronounciation lesson for his name then danced around at the ringside area with Summer Rae.  Barrett was left alone in the ring and got hit by a Codebreaker, with Jericho tagging in Miz to lock on the Figure Four for the win.

Vickie Guerrero came out on stage and said Jack Swagger would fight in a match tonight, with fans voting for one of three opponent choices on the WWE app.  The three choices are Randy Orton, R-Truth or Great Khali.

Sheamus defeated Titus O'Neil via pinfall.  Darren Young was ringside during the match and interfered at one point, tripping Sheamus on the apron on an attempted move to jump over the top rope.  Titus capitalized to regain control, kneeing Sheamus in the gut.  Later, Sheamus got back in control, avoiding Titus rushing him in the corner.  He got up Titus for the Irish Curse backbreaker, then set up for and hit the Brogue Kick to get the win.

Paul Heyman came down to the ring to talk about his latest client addition.  Heyman talked up Brock Lesnar defeating HHH in the steel cage match at Extreme Rules.  He said HHH had to tuck the sledgehammer between his legs and go back home to "mommy."  Heyman said Lesnar has fulfilled his obligations to WWE now, but what's Paul Heyman going to talk about now.  Heyman said "It's time for something new, something different."  He said he's giving the WWE Universe that big highlight moment out of his generosity that everyone will look back on.  Heyman introduced the newest Paul Heyman guy, Curt Axel (aka Michael McGillicutty.)

Heyman's speech was interrupted by Triple H's music, as The Game came to the ring with a mic.  Triple H said Heyman could put whatever spin on things from last night he wanted, but fact of the matter is Brock limped away from that match last night.  Axel got into HHH's face telling him "the game has changed around here," then told HHH if he wants to talk to Heyman, he talks to him first.  Triple H slapped him down, surprising Heyman.  HHH said he changed his mind, first he's going to have a match tonight with Axel, then he's going to kick Heyman's butt after.

Big E Langston defeated Alberto Del Rio via pinfall.  Late in the match, Del Rio hit a backstabber for a near fall on Big E.  Del Rio went for the cross arm breaker, but Big E shoved him out of the ring.  ADR got back in and hit a huge enziguiri kick, but AJ distracted the ref.  Langston poked Del Rio in the eyes, then followed with his finisher for the win.

Post-match, Ryback's music hit and he came to the ring as Cody left.  Ryback hit a huge Meathook clothesline on Rdyer, then a power bomb, followed by Shellshocked.  He tossed Ryder out of the ring and then brought him up the ramp to the ambulance, throwing him into the back and closing the doors.  The ambulance starts up and puts on its sirens, taking Ryder away.

The Shield defeated Team Hell No & Kofi Kingsto via pinfall.  Late in the match, Kane had the chokeslam ready to hit Reigns with, but Ambrose jumped off the top.  Kane knocked Ambrose down, then grabbed Reigns for a chokeslam.  Rollins hit a springboard in to break things up.  Reigns was able to hit a huge spear on Kane to take him down for the pinfall win.

Backstage, Kaitlyn had a conversation with Natalya about the fact her "secret admirer" keeps texting her, and she has a number to call.  She said she hasn't been able to get a hold of them by calling.  Cody is seen walking in the background using his phone and as he comes past them, Natalya grabs him and Kaitlyn takes his phone to see if he's texting her.  She finds out he's just posting pics of himself on the internet.

Randy Orton defeated Jack Swagger via pinfall.  In the late part of this one, Orton hit a draping DDT through the ropes then went for the RKO.  Swagger blocked it, then put the Patriot Lock on Orton.  Orton was able to roll through to break it, but Swagger re-applied it.  Swagger switched the hold to Orton's other leg, but Orton got to the bottom rope to break the hold.  Orton kicked Swagger away and to the outside.  Swagger got back in, but Orton hit the RKO quick for the win.

Triple H and Curtis Axel fought to a no contest when HHH was unable to continue.  Late in the match, Triple H began stumbling around out of the ring, with trainers coming to check on him.  They had him sit down and gave him a towel, with water, which he poured over himself.  He tried to get up and head back to the ring, but fell down on the ground.  Trainers helped him back over again.  HHH fell another time and trainers went over to tell him he couldn't continue.  They kept talking to him as Raw went off the air and HHH looked out of it.

Brock Lesnar defeated Triple H in a steel cage match.  Late in the match, Triple H went towards the top of the cage, then retrieved a sledgehammer from up there.  Lesnar yanked him back down to the mat and grabbed the sledgehammer.  HHH ducked a shot from the hammer, then put the sharpshooter on Lesnar.  Paul Heyman got inside the cage and HHH let up on the hold, hitting Heyman with a Pedigree.  He decked Lesnar with the sledgehammer then hit the pedigree on him for a very close pinfall attempt.  HHH grabs the sledgehammer to do more damage to Lesnar, but Heyman hit him from behind with a low blow.  Brock took the sledgehammer then nailed HHH in the jaw with it, leaving him motionless on the mat.  Lesnar limped around a bit, then yelled and hoisted Triple H up to hit the F5 on him.  After a pinfall cover, Lesnar was the winner.

Post-match, Lesnar limped backstage from the ramp.  Heyman was helped up the ramp by referees, then raised Lesnar's arm up.  Triple H was helped up from the ring by WWE trainers and left for the backstage area.

Raw Preview 05/05/13

On last week's Raw, WWE Champion John Cena attempted to do his part to compete, as he teamed up with Team Hell No to take on The Shield.  Originally, Ryback had been scheduled as the partner for the tag team champs, but backed out, saying he didn't trust them.  Once Ryback left the building, Cena said despite his injury, he'd compete.  Later on, that injury came back to play a part in the match, as Cena didn't have the strength to hoist up one of The Shield members with his hurt heel.  Shield took the match, and Ryback got to look on as Cena was checked on to finish off the show.  Will these two cross paths again on tonight's episode of Raw before their Extreme Rules match?

Also on last week's Raw, Alberto Del Rio's personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, was able to win a Triple Threat match against Zeb Colter and Big E Langston.  With the victory, Del Rio was allowed to choose the stipulation for the upcoming Triple Threat match at Extreme Rules for the World Championship.  Del Rio chose for it to be a ladders match, which is fitting as Del Rio, Swagger, and Ziggler all won Money in the Bank ladder matches and eventually cashed in contracts to become champions.  Now the three will look to gain momentum heading into the upcoming Extreme Rules PPV.  Which wrestler will stand tall on tonight's show?

And finally, several other stories will continue this week, such as Big Show and Rand Orton's feud, and Sheamus and Mark Henry's feud.  Fandango and Great Khali also had a Dance-off, with the dancing superstar attacking Khali from behind and hitting a leg drop on him due to the results.  What sorts of matches will these superstars end up in, and will it lead to matches or stipulations for Extreme Rules PPV?

Jack Swagger defeated Alberto Del Rio via pinfall in a No DQ match.  Late in this one, Del Rio stopped Zeb Colter from using a Kendo stick, but the distraction allowed Swagger to receover and hit Del Rio with a ladder in the head.  Swagger tried a Swagger Bomb but Del Rio got his knees up to block.  Moments later, Swagger broke out of the cross armbreaker, and hit ADR multiple times with a Kendo Stick.  He uses a ladder to hit Del Rio, then hits a Gutwrench Powerbomb for the pinfall win.

The Shield cut a backstage video promo in which they talked about unfinished business with Undertaker and said they'll take the tag titles from Hell No.  They said later tonight Ambrose will resolve the Undertaker issue.

Mark Henry defeated Randy Orton due to disqualification.  Late in the match, Orton prepared for his RKO, pounding away on the canvas.  Henry got on his feet, and Orton got ready to strike, only for Sheamus to get in the ring and hit a Brogue Kick on Henry, causing the ref to call for the bell. Post-match, Orton appeared irritated by Sheamus' interruption, confronting him over it.  Sheamus pointed to his opponent and Orton quickly hit the RKO on Henry.

The Undertaker defeated Dean Ambrose via submission.  Undertaker rallied late in this contest, hitting a clothesline from the corner, then Snake Eyes, a huge boot kick and his "Old School" move from the ropes.  The Shield distracted Taker, and Ambrose gained the upperhand.  Ambrose had a pinfall with Undertaker surprisingly kicking out.  Soon after, Ambrose didn't focus enough on his opponent and fell victim to Hell's Gate, tapping out before ten seconds.

Post-match, Rollins and Reigns quickly get involved, beating up on the Undertaker on the mat.  Undertaker fights back and the fight goes to the outside.  Taker managed to fight them off and was about to use a chokeslam on Rollins.  However, Reigns hits a huge spear to send Taker through the crowd barricade.  Ambrose grabs a chair and hits Taker a few times.  The grand finale has Shield hit a Triple Powerbomb on Taker through the announce table.  Smackdown ends with them standing tall over Taker.

Jerry Lawler introduced Fandango after video highlights of his match last week.  Fandango made a crack about Lawler's hips and asked if he can move them.  Lawler went back to commentary and Fandango asked if anyone in the crowd wants to go Fandangoing with him.  He asked the crowdd to pronounce his name properly before they can go Fandangoing.  After a bit, Fandango tells them they can all go Fandago themselves.  His music hits to end the segment.

Raw Results 04/30/12

Raw Results from Dayton, OH:

The show started with a segment involving John Laurinaitis calling Brock to the ring to congratulate him for what he did last night.  Triple H arrived out to interrupt Brock's speech and told him he won't get any of those demands JL negotiated.  HHH tore up the contract they signed and said it's up to Brock if he wants to remain as part of WWE under his original contract terms.  JL kept interrupting and Triple H turned to yell at him.  Brock attacked HHH from behind, taking him down.  He put an armbar hold on HHH and ended up breaking his arm.  Soon after, a variety of wrestlers from backstage including Sheamus, Big Show, and R-Truth all came to the ring to chase Lesnar off and help HHH out.

Backstage after commercial break, they showed Triple H being checked by medical staff on his condition saying he couldn't move his arm, but could move his fingers.

Eve came out and announced that tonight there's a "Beat the Clock Challenge" to determine the new #1 contender for CM Punk's WWE Championship.  The Miz arrived out for the first match.

The Miz defeated Santino Marella in 4:18 in Beat the Clock Match #1.  The finish saw Marella go for The Cobra, but Miz avoided it.  Santino charged at Miz in the corner, but ate a boot kick.  Moments later, Miz hit Skullscrushing Finale for the win.

Layla defeated Brie and Nikki Bella by pinfall in a Triple Threat match to retain the Divas Championship.  The victory was quick as The Bellas started arguing with each other after the bell rang.  Layla took the opportunity to dropkick one Bella into the other, sending one out of the ring.  She then did a quick rollup pin to get the easy win.

Chris Jericho defeated Big Show due to countout in Beat the Clock Challenge Match #2.  Late in the match, Jericho went for the Codebreaker, but Show picked him up.  Jericho got around Show's neck for a suplex and managed to pull him out over the ropes.  Y2J went to get back in the ring with Show pulling him out and shoving him against the crowd barrier.  Show charged for a big boot, but Jericho moved away and Big Show crashed into the timekeeper's area.  The ref was counting as Jericho got in the ring.  The ref's count was too slow and the clock hit :00 when he called for the bell.  Cole and Lawler said it seemed Jericho beat the clock but they'd have to sort it out during the break.

After break, Cole said it was sorted out during break.  Neither Jericho nor Big Show beat Miz's time of 4:18 minutes.

Brodus Clay defeated JTG by pinfall.  Late in the match after dominating JTG, Clay was able to hit a German Suplex to toss JTG across the ring.  He followed with his huge Splash move for the win.  The Funkettes got in the ring to celebrate by dancing with him.  After reviewing the replay, Clay brought some little kids into the ring to dance with him and the Funkettes.

Cole and Lawler talked about how crazy the past 24 hours have been, focusing on John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar's match from last night.  Lawler said he's never seen anything like last night's match, it was brutal.  The fed into a highlight video package with Cole's commentary over still shots from last night's match.  They showed Cena doing the AA with Lesnar onto the steel steps.

The commentators reviewed what happened earlier involving John Laurinaitis and then Brock Lesnar attacking Triple H.  They said Laurinaitis is planning to address John Cena later on.

In a backstage office room, Eve was with John Laurinaitis and Teddy Long.  She told Teddy his presence was upsetting Mr. Laurinaitis and ordered him to leave.  JL was shaken up and frustrated, so Eve told him to snap out of it.  She gave a pep talk about how he seemed to have lost Brock earlier, but now he needs to get back to business and decide John Cena's next opponent.  Laurinaitis got up and said "I know who his next opponent will be, but he's not going to like it."

Randy Orton defeated Jack Swagger by pinfall in Beat the Clock Challenge Match #3.  Orton won with 2 seconds to spare, setting a new time to beat of 4:16.  In the final 14 seconds, Swagger had his Ankle Lock on Orton.  Orton rolled through, sending Swagger hard into the corner turnbuckle.  As Swagger bounced off, Orton connected on the RKO and grabbed the quick pin.  Miz was shown backstage watching on a monitor and upset over Orton beating his time.

Kofi Kingston & R-Truth won by pinfall over Primo and Epico to become the new tag team champions.  Late in the match, Epico and Kofi were the legal competitors.  Rosa got up on the apron causing a commotion so Kofi went over.  Epico tried to take advantage but got sent to the ropes and Truth yanked him against the top rope.  As he snapped back to the ring, Epico was hit by Trouble in Paradise by Kofi for the win.

Kane and The Great Khali both lost in the Beat the Clock Challenge Match #4.  Towards the end of the time, Kane tried to slap a chokeslam on Khali.  Khali responded by grabbing his hands around Kane's throat as the time expired.  Post-match, a frustrated Kane grabbed Khali around the neck and chokeslammed him.  Randy Orton was shown watching on a monitor backstage and laughed about what went down.

Daniel Bryan was shown walking backstage on the way out for his Beat the Clock match.

Daniel Bryan defeated Jerry Lawler in Beat the Clock Challenge Match #5 by submission to become #1 contender for the WWE Championship.  Lawler had the advantage late after hitting his diving fist punch from the corner.  Bryan kicked out of the pinfall, then countered Lawler's piledriver attempt.  From there, Bryan kicked Lawler hard in the had and put on the Yes Lock to make him tap out.  Bryan had about 2 minutes or so to spare.  The win means Bryan will face CM Punk at the Over the Limit PPV for the WWE Championship.

Bryan celebrated post-match with his "Yes!" chants, but CM Punk arrived out to interrupt.  He held up the WWE Championship Belt from the stage as his music played.  Bryan taunted from the ring saying the belt was coming to him next.

Cole reviewed the earlier incident again involving Brock Lesnar snapping Triple H's arm.  Cole said he is assuming Brock Lesnar is going to be fired.  Cole added that they have confirmed Triple H's arm is in fact broken.

As John Cena arrived out wearing a sling on his left arm, Cole said doctors said he suffered multiple internal injuries but nothing serious. Cena said every muscle from his arm down to his shoulder is strained, but he's still there.  He said there's a big deal between being injured or being hurt.  John Laurinaitis came out to interrupt.

JL said he only made the match with Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules to push Cena to the limits.  He said in the process it brought out the best John Cena possible.  Laurinaitis told Cena to thank him for what he did.  Cena said he thanks him for being a corporate jackass with his head so far up his ass that he has to brush with toilet paper.

Laurinaitis told Cena they need to build a relationship together.  Cena mocked him and "People Power" saying Laurinaitis is trying to make things more difficult while running the WWE into the ground.  Laurinaitis told him it's time to focus on the future, and to meet his opponent for Over the Limit.  Before JL could finish, Lord Tensai's music hit and his assistant arrived out to throw salt or sand down.  Tensai arrived out, took off his mask and robe and got in the ring with Cena.

Cena prepared to fight as Tensai and his assistant surrounded him.  Suddenly, Laurinaitis smashed the microphone against Cena from behind causing him to fall to the mat.  Tensai and his assistant started the attack, which eventually led to targeting Cena's arm in the sling.  Laurinaitis tore the sling off and had Tensai hold Cena's arm on the steel steps.  JL grabbed a steel chair and smashed it on Cena's hurt arm.  JL got in the ring and mocked the "You Can't See Me" with Cena laying on the mat in pain as Raw ended.

Raw Preview 04/29/12

After last night's Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View, many superstars from both Raw and Smackdown may be bruised, bloodied and battered, leaving fans to wonder who will be available to compete.  In one contest, fans saw the hometown hero, CM Punk, face Chris Jericho in a Chicago Street Fight.  Both guys used multiple weapons, holds, moves, and high risk maneuvers.  In the end, it was "Chicago's Favorite Son" who captured the win though.  Punk will enter Raw as the WWE Champion, with two straight Pay-Per-View victories over his nemesis Chris Jericho.  Will Jericho continue to be the top contender to challenge Punk, or will a new competitor emerge?

Also during the latest Pay-Per-View results, John Cena and Brock Lesnar finally went at it.  In previous meetings, the former MMA star and WWE Champ Lesnar managed to draw blood on Cena, and get the best of him.  It appeared the same way during the Extreme Rules results, as Brock continued to take down Cena and used all sorts of punches, holds, and tactics from his UFC days.  However, Cena withstood a lot of punishment, eventually using his steel chain as a weapon to KO Lesnar, before hitting the Attitude Adjustment on him.  With the win, Cena gave a farewell speech, signaling that his days as a WWE star may be over due to a firing from John Laurinaitis.  Will Cena be sent home from Monday's episode of Raw?

And finally, the General Manager of Raw and Smackdown, John Laurinaitis, was seen taking a private call backstage during Extreme Rules PPV.  That call came from the WWE COO Triple H.  Later in the night, when Matt Striker tried to ask Laurinaitis about the call, he wouldn't give any big details.  Do Laurinaitis and Triple H have something in the works?  What was the nature of the cell phone call?

Check out tonight's episode of WWE Raw for all of the latest followup to the Extreme Rules PPV and more!

The Miz vs. Santino Marella
United States Championship Match

This match was a special live pre-show match streaming on WWE's YouTube channel prior to the PPV event.

The Miz arrived out first with a mic in hand cutting a promo about how he main evented Wrestlemania last year, and now he isn't part of the main Extreme Rules PPV.  He drew heat saying he doesn't suck because he's not from Chicago.  Miz concluded with his "Awesome" phrase right before Santino hit the ring.

Striker mentioned an icon who was part of Wrestlemania is rumored to be on his way to Extreme Rules tonight.  Santino got an early advantage by pulling down the top rope and letting Miz fall out of the ring.  Moments later he chased Miz out of the ring threatening with The Cobra.

Miz gained control later after a near rollup pinfall from Santino, by clotheslining Santino down hard.  Miz missed on a move off the corner allowing Santino to punch him in the gut.  Santino started to go through his move set including the breakdancing split and hip toss.  He got the Cobra ready, but Miz kicked him and pushed him into the corner.  Santino managed to avoid a charging Miz though and then wound up his Cobra punch for the big win.

Winner: Santino Marella wins by pinfall over The Miz to retain the United States Championship.

Backstage, Eve was standing by with Big Show, Cody Rhodes and Teddy Long (wearing a Teddy name tag). She told them they'd be spinning the big wheel to determine a match type for the Intercontinental Championship tonight. She ordered Teddy to spin the wheel and he reluctantly did so. The wheel landed on "Tables Match" which drew chuckles from Show telling Rhodes "good luck putting me through a table." Show walked off and Rhodes blamed Teddy for this. Eve agreed and Teddy asked "what did I do?"

The official Pay-Per-View opened at 8PM EST with an intro video package.  The video focused on Cena vs Lesnar, with the idea that Lesnar is a destructive machine who has dominated opponents in wrestling and mixed martial arts.  Cena talked about how he has to climb this new hurdle.  Lesnar kept talking about how he's not afraid of anything or anyone.

The pyro went off and Michael Cole introduced things from the arena with 14,817 fans on hand.  A huge explosion went off and then Kane's music started up to bring the Big Red Monster out for the first contest.

Randy Orton vs. Kane
Falls Count Anywhere

Early on the pipe came into play with Orton going after Kane.  Things spilled over into the crowd area with Lilian Garcia having to get out of harm's way.  Orton and Kane traded shots with Orton repeatedly smashing Kane face first onto a crowd barrier in the audience.  Both guys had near falls out on the pavement area in the crowd.

Things continued up the stairs in the crowd with little kids trying to stay out of their way.  They ended up at the Extreme Rules set on stage, with Orton managing to get a big dropkick to take down Kane.  His pinfall was unsuccessful.

The fight continued backstage to the locker room area with Kane smashing Orton into various crates of equipment.  Orton regained control and smashed Kane through a door into a room where various WWE stars were watching.  Zack Ryder came out of nowhere and started to attack Kane from behind.  Kane grabbed Ryder around the throat, but Orton jumped on Kane, then hit a backbreaker.

Eventually they reemerged from backstage with Orton landing shots and driving Kane down the ramp.  Back in the ring, Orton had momentum after the scoop slam.  He slid out of the ring and retrieved a steel chair to come back in and bash Kane with repeatedly.

Kane got out of the ring and Orton went after him.  He ripped apart the commentators table and fans chanted "R-K-O."  Kane grabbed Orton for a chokeslam, but Orton countered and slammed Kane on the table.  He followed with a DDT from the table to the outside floor.  However, Kane still kicked out.

Things went back to the ring with Kane in control, trying to go to the top.  Orton crotched him on the turnbuckle and punched away on him, then went for a superplex and landed it.  Kane survived another pin attempt.  Moments later, Kane avoided the RKO and hit a chokeslam with Orton barely getting his shoulder up before 3.

The finish saw Kane try to tombstone Orton on a steel chair on the mat.  Orton slipped off his back and then connected on the RKO, smashing Kane face first into the chair for a pin.

Winner: Randy Orton wins via pinfall over Kane.

Backstage, Eve and John Laurinaitis were talking about how "extreme" the Orton vs Kane match just was.  Eve said she had a special surprise and called in Teddy.  He wheeled in a cart with champagne on it, then said they were toasting to "change and People Power."  Laurinaitis got a call on his cell from Triple H.  He said "sure I can talk, let me go to a more private place."  Eve made sure Teddy's name tag was in place.

The Funkosaurus Brodus Clay came out with Hornswoggle and the Funkettes.  Cole complained that the little guy is still hanging out with Brodus Clay.  Cole called him a "smelly troll."  After Clay's pyro exploded from the ringposts, Vickie Guerrero started up with her "Excuse Me" bit and introduced her wrestler Dolph Ziggler.  Jack Swagger followed behind in a suit.

Brodus Clay vs. Dolph Ziggler

Early on, Clay got distracted by Swagger on the ring apron.  He went over after him but Swagger dropped off.  Ziggler dropkicked Clay over the top rope to the outside.  As the ref was warning Ziggler in the ring, Swagger took off his suit coat and ran down Clay.  Back in the ring, Ziggler had a near fall after hitting the Zig Zag.

Towards the end of the match, Clay managed to escape two sleeper holds from Ziggler.  Swagger got up on the apron and Clay ran over to bump him off.  Ziggler tried for a flying move, with Clay batting him down from the air with a headbutt.  He followed with his huge splash move for the win.  The Funkettes and Hornswoggle joined Clay in the ring to celebrate with some dancing.

Winner: Brodus Clay defeated Dolph Ziggler by pinfall.

Cody Rhodes vs. The Big Show
Intercontinental Championship Match

The stipulation for this match will be determined by the spin of a wheel on Sunday prior to the match.  Early on, Show was all over Cody Rhodes, tossing him all around the place.  He continued to dominate throughout.  However, a key moment occurred when Show had tossed Cody back into the ring.  Show got up on the apron and tried to step over the top rope.  Rhodes rushed over and kicked Show in the leg hard, causing him to lose his footing.  A table was set up right next to the apron and Show step down through it, causing the table to break.  The ref looked over, saw the table was broken with Show standing on it, and called for the bell.

Post-match, Show was livid with himself and got in the ring to knock down Cody.  He followed by chokeslamming him through a table.  The crowd chanted "one more time" and Show turned back, picked up Cody overhead and tossed him out to make him smash through another table.  Refs attended to Rhodes outside the ring to help him up.

Winner: Cody Rhodes wins the Tables Match to become new Intercontinental Champion.

Backstage, Matt Striker interviewed Daniel Bryan asking him to give reasons he can defeat Sheamus tonight.  Bryan kept listing out how he was better than Sheamus, and insulted the Chicago crowd, before starting up a "Yes Yes Yes!" chant which the crowd joined.  As Bryan left the interview, the camera showed AJ come out from the shadows near some WWE boxes.

Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus

2-out-of-3 Falls Match for World Heavyweight Championship

Early on, Sheamus was able to lock in a Boston Crab style submission but Bryan crawled to grab the bottom rope. Bryan went for a Hurricanrana on Sheamus up on the corner, but Sheamus countered and then hit his battering ram move.  Bryan kicked out of the pinfall.  Moments later, Bryan pulled down the top rope and caused Sheamus to fall out.  He prepared for the suicide dive but Sheamus was on his feet and punched him as he ran to the ropes.

Back in the ring, Bryan tried several times for the Lebelle Lock but couldn't get it.  Just moments later, Sheamus went shoulder first into the corner ringpost, and Cole noted his wrist pad got caught on the post, seeming to pull his shoulder out.  Bryan began to attack the left shoulder injury.

Back in the ring, Bryan was repeatedly attacking Sheamus near the ropes, kicking him multiple times in the hurt arm.  The ref tried to get Bryan to stop but he wouldn't so the ref called for the bell.  Bryan lost Fall 1 due to that DQ.

They reset in opposite corners and then Bryan rushed to dropkick Sheamus hard.  He locked on the Lebell "Yes" Lock with Sheamus struggling to grab the bottom rope.  Sheamus never tapped but he wasn't moving after a while, giving Daniel Bryan the second fall, making it 1-1.  Bryan started doing his Yes, Yes, Yes chant to lead the crowd.  The ref called a few medical staff in the ring to see if Sheamus could continue.

The refs and med staff got Sheamus to the corner where he said he would continue.  A "Yes-No" back and forth chant rang out around the arena as things reset.  Sheamus got to his feet and Bryan rushed at him.  Sheamus went forward with a Brogue Kick to lay out Bryan.  He took several moments, then crawled over to make the cover.  Bryan barely kicked out of the pinfall.

Sheamus and Bryan kept battling with the champ down on his knees on the mat.  Bryan would kick him in the back with Sheamus punching back.  A huge kick was landed by Bryan to Sheamus' head, but The Celtic Warrior escaped a pinfall attempt.  The two ended up fighting on the top rope with Bryan shoving Sheamus to the mat.  He went for a diving move and Sheamus rolled away.  Just moments later, Sheamus managed to connect on another Brogue Kick and scored the pinfall win.

Winner: Sheamus wins 2-1 in the 2-out-of-3 Falls match over Daniel Bryan to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

Aaron Relic & Jay Hatton vs. Ryback

The two amateurs got on the mic prior to the match talking about how they were going to be the first guys to make a name for themselves in their first match, unlike the others on Smackdown. They started doing a math lesson yelling "two is better than one" as the crowd kept replying "What?!" Finally, Ryback came out to interrupt. A "Goldberg" chant started up in the arena.

The smaller of the two amateurs started things out with several kick attempts which did nothing to Ryback. Ryback smashed him against the mat multiple times, before dragging him over to the corner for a tag. His partner wanted to part of it, but Ryback tossed him into the ring. He made quick work of him though. Things ultimately ended with Ryback hitting his finisher on the smaller guy, then piling both wrestlers on top of each other to pin them.

Backstage, Great Khali and Santino were shown watching a flatscreen monitor and commenting on how impressive that was.

Winner: Ryback defeated Aaron Relic and Jay Hatton by pinfall.

Matt Striker interviewed CM Punk backstage in the locker room. Punk told Striker to pause to let the Chicago fans cheer. Striker asked Punk's thoughts going into tonight's "highly-emotional" title defense. Punk said tonight's match is a street fight, Chicago style. He said everyone knows what that is here, but not Jericho. Punk said he's done playing games tonight.

Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk
Chicago Street Fight for the WWE Championship

As Punk arrived to the ring, he went over and gave a headband/bandana to his sister who was in the crowd with other friends and family.  A huge "CM Punk" chant rang out from the hometown fans prior to the introductions with Jericho smirking.

Punk had the early advantage, using a Kendo stick to bash on Jericho in the ring.  Jericho hid behind the ref at one point and hit a thumb to Punk's eye to gain the upperhand.  Jericho then smashed the Kendo stick into Punk's gut on the apron.  He followed with a leaping kick from the side ropes to kick Punk off the apron.  Jericho stayed in control, eventually pulling the turnbuckle cover off the corner.  Moments later he avoided Punk's running knee in the corner and Punk fell out of the ring.

On the outside, Jericho went over to where Punk's family was sitting, and tore the barrier cover up before smashing Punk against it.  Jericho threw Punk to the side and then started yelling in Punk's sister's face.  She slapped him in the face, enraging Jericho.  He turned to go back at her, but Punk was up and rushed over to jump on him.

From there, Punk had lost it and tore apart the commentators table covers.  He smashed Jericho through one of them, then went for a piledriver near the other.  Punk couldn't connect and Jericho tossed him over his back.  Jericho followed with a huge shot to the back using a TV monitor.

Back in the ring, Punk thought he regained control but as he went for a springboard move from the ropes, Jericho struck him in the stomach with a Kendo stick.  He kept yelling at Punk to look at his sister, then went out of the ring and grabbed a can of beer from under the ring.  Jericho opened the can of beer and poured it all over Punk drawing boos from the crowd.  Jericho beat on Punk more then went out and got another can of beer.  This time as Jericho raised the toast, Punk was up and kicked  him in the gut.

Punk stayed in control, hitting an impressive swinging neckbreaker, followed by the high knee to Jericho in the corner.  He followed with the Bulldog, then limped over to grab the Kendo stick.  He used that to crotch Jericho then gave the GTS sign.  He got Jericho on his shoulders, but Jericho slid out and went for Walls of Jericho.  Moments later, Punk hit a huge powerslam for a near fall.

Later on, Punk still in control hit his Macho Man elbow from the corner for another near fall.  Later Jericho managed to regain control and went for a Lionsault, but Punk sprang to his feet and got under Jericho's shoulders, putting him into the GTS.  Jericho escaped yet again, shoved Punk into the corner and had a near rollup pinfall.

Jericho managed to hit the Codebreaker on Punk and after a brief pause he locked on the Walls of Jericho.  Punk had nowhere to go in the center of the ring but tried to power over to the ropes.  He finally managed to reach the ropes, but there was no DQ, so there was no break.  Somehow as Punk was draped over the apron, still in the Walls of Jericho, he grabbed a fire extinguisher that was under the ring.  Punk then aimed the hose at Jericho and blasted it in his face.  Punk then smashed it in his gut and chased Jericho to the outside.

Jericho ended up layed out on the Spanish commentators table.  Punk got in the ring and went up on the top rope.  He stumbled nearly losing his balance up there, then regained himself and jumped for a huge elbow drop to smash Jericho through the table.  Both guys were layed out and finally Punk brought Jericho back to the ring.

The close saw Punk manage to drop Jericho onto the exposed turnbuckle (Jericho revealed earlier) and then connected on GTS for the big win.  Post-match, Punk went outside the ring and dove onto the crowd where his family was to celebrate with them.

Winner: CM Punk defeated Chris Jericho by pinfall in a Chicago Street Fight to retain the WWE Championship.

Backstage, Eve walked up to where The Bella Twins were telling Beth she doesn't look like she'll have a change on her hurt ankle tonight.  Beth said she'll compete on one leg.  Eve told her she can't compete according to the medical reports.  Beth was angered by it but told the Bellas one day that divas championship is coming back to her.  The Bellas suggested they'd have the night off now, but Eve told them no, the fans want a Divas title match so they'll get one.  Eve told them not to worry because their opponent isn't Karma.  The Bellas joked it was Mae Young.  Eve told them that was a good one, but said their opponent would be a surprise.

Layla vs. Nikki Bella
WWE Divas Championship Match

The Bellas got on the mic to talk about how the title was staying with them for the longest reign ever. They asked for their opponent to come out and she didn't at first, so they suggested the opponent must be scared. Then Laycool's music hit and Layla came back to return to the WWE.

Layla managed to withstand some attacks on her previously injured leg. She also withstood the "Twin magic" when Brie got in the ring to take Nikki's place behind the ref's back. Brie went for the finishing face plant, but Layla countered and then hit a neckbreaker finisher to get the pinfall win. Layla celebrated as new champion.

Winner: Layla wins via pinfall over Brie Bella to become the new WWE Divas Champion.

Backstage, Matt Striker rushed up to find John Laurinaitis walking down the hall. He asked what he and Triple H were talking about earlier. Laurinaitis wouldn't say what it was, just that they are two of the top execs in WWE right now. He said he has other things to focus on now, like Brock Lensar's return to the ring for his first match in a long time.

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar
Extreme Rules Match

Lesnar wore his UFC gear including shorts and gloves into the ring against Cena who wore his usual jean shorts.  Cena went for an early charge to try to tackle Lesnar, but Brock tackled him down and started using UFC style clubbing moves on him.  Cena tried for another move but Lesnar took him down yet again.  Cena finally had a takedown, but once again Lesnar took over and busted open Cena this time.  With Cena bleeding profusely, the ref brought in a medical staff to check on Cena.  That stopped things as they tried to get the blood stopped on Cena's forehead.

Cena went for another charging attack, but once again was taken down, and beat on by Lesnar.  Lesnar hit a big knee to Cena's side, then knocked him out of the ring.  The ref went over to check on Cena once again.  When Cena finally got back in the ring, he managed to get Lesnar up on his shoulders, but Lesnar slipped out of the AA and then hit two German Suplexes.

Moments later, Cena gained momentum and elbowed Lesnar in the forehead twice.  He charged against the ropes then came back to throw his shoulder into Lesnar.  The ref got caught behind Lesnar who fell into him, knocking the ref out, and out of the ring.  From there, Lesnar took control batting Cena down on an attempted move.

Lesnar kept attacking Cena, trying to break his left arm in the corner of the ring.  Cena fell to the outside, and Lesnar went out for more punishment then tossed Cena into the ring.  On the way into the ring, Brock grabbed Cena's big steel chain to use as a weapon.  He dropped the chain though and then continued picking Cena apart with kicks and knees.  Brock put the chain around Cena's legs then taunted him to stand up.  As Cena got up he rushed and bulldozed Cena down to the mat.

Lesnar then hung Cena from the corner with his legs and the steel chain.  Lesnar kept picking apart Cena, smashing his arm against the apron, before dropping Cena to the outside floor.  Lesnar went over to check on the ref, but then walked back over and Cena was ready to attack.  Brock withstood that, and whipped Cena into the steel steps, before going over and tossing the ref back into the ring.

Moments later, Cena was back in the ring and got Lesnar up for the AA.  However, Brock slipped out and put up Cena in the F5.  As he swung Cena around, Cena's feet knocked the ref out and down again.  Brock completed the move and had a pin with another ref coming to count it.  Cena barely got his arm up.  Lesnar took out his frustration by knocking out the other ref, then grabbing the ring steps to bring in the ring.

With the steps in the middle of the ring, Cena tried to fight Lesnar yet again, but this time Brock locked in an armbar submission from MMA causing Cena to scream in pain.  A "Lets Go Cena, Cena Sucks" chant started up and Cena managed to use his power to stand up with Lesnar and slam him against the ring steps.  Cole noted that it looked like Cena had no use of his left arm.

Cena went for a big leg drop on Lesnar who was hanging over the steel steps  Lesnar avoided it though and Cena hit the mat hard, then rolled to the outside floor.  Lesnar finally got up looking around for Cena.  He stood up on the steps challenging Cena to get back in the ring.

As Cena got onto the apron, Lesnar rushed from across the ring, and then jumped from the steel steps, launching himself at Cena.  Cena hit the side crowd barrier, and Lesnar fell over the ropes, apparently hurting his knee in the process.  Moments later, Lesnar brushed off the injury and got back in the ring.

Cena got on the apron again and Lesnar tried to rush at him, but this time Cena had his chain and smashed Brock in the hed, busting him open.  Cena waited for Lesnar to pull himself up by the ropes, then hoisted him up for the AA onto the steel steps to win the match.

Winner: John Cena wins by pinfall over Brock Lesnar in an Extreme Rules match.

Post-match, Lesnar left without getting any medical attention, limping and walking gingerly up the ramp.  Meanwhile, doctors and med staff checked on Cena in the ring.  Both guys had been bloodied up on their foreheads.  The commentators reviewed the highlights, with Cole saying "Cena is still the face of the WWE."  Cena went to leave the ring on his own, but got back in there and stood up on the ring steps to salute the fans, before leaving.  A bloodied Cena walked around the ring staring out looking dazed.  He looked at the camera and asked "Mom how'd I do, do I look ok?  I'm in one piece, I'm ok."  Lawler brought up Cena's loss to the Rock at Mania, but said it seems Cena is back after this big win tonight.

Cena got a mic and sat down on the ring steps to speak.  He mentioned out he might get sent home or fired now by "his boss."  Cena said he knows it's CM Punk's town but above all else it's a wrestling town.  He said he's got no feeling in his left arm and is tasting his own blood, but is proud to do it in Chicago.  Cena said if he's going away for a while, "thanks for one last ride."  Cena thanked the crowd, then left the ring.  Cole said "that's what John Cena is all about."  The PPV ended with Cena at the top of the ramp holding up one arm to salute the crowd.
