Smackdown Preview 09.04.09

Tonight's Smackdown marks the return of the Phenom, The Undertaker. Taker has been out of action ever since his classic Wrestlemania 25 victory over Shawn Michaels in Texas this past year. The Deadman made his surprise return at the 2009 Summerslam Pay-Per-View in the aftermath of the CM Punk victory over Jeff Hardy. While Punk stood tall over Hardy down on the mat, he gloated with his regained World Heavyweight Title. Suddenly it was lights out for the arena, and the familiar bells of the Undertaker were heard. When the light was restored, Undertaker was laying in Jeff Hardy's spot on the mat. The Deadman grabbed Punk around the neck and proceeded to chokeslam him down to the mat to the delight of the crowd. Now on tonight's Smackdown, Undertaker will reveal himself once again in his return to his show. What will Undertaker have to say regarding his appearance at Summerslam and what he did to CM Punk? Will the new Straight Edge superstar have something to say regarding his banishing Jeff Hardy from WWE?

Also, it appears as if Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio's days are numbered. The biggest little man has held the title for quite some time after defeating Chris Jericho. However, Dolph Ziggler has come increasingly closer to defeating Rey for the belt at each Pay-Per-View. Ziggler is currently the #1 Contender, having won a Fatal Fourway match on Smackdown. He's also attacked Mysterio several times to attempt to gain an advantage. Last week saw yet another vicious attack by Ziggler on Mysterio. The two are scheduled to compete at Breaking Point, but Rey Mysterio was also recently suspended for 30 days. What will become of the Intercontinental title and the title match at Breaking Point in 2 weeks?

The Unified tag team champions also continue to be on a roll as they head towards Breaking Point. The dynamic duo of Jericho and Big Show will face the newly formed team of MVP and Mark Henry. On this past week's episode of Raw, Chris Jericho notched an impressive win over MVP by hitting a Codebreaker out of nowhere to score the pinfall. Meanwhile, Big Show and Mark Henry faced off in a battle of the big men. Both of these behemoths were able to knock their opponent to the mat, but ultimately it was Big Show cheating which put Henry down for good. Show lost the match due to a disqualification, and left Henry KO'd after a vicious knockout punch. What will be next for Big Show and Chris Jericho as they prepare to defend their tag titles yet again?
